  • We exit Yosemite National Park over Donohue Pass, only to find ourselves in a hail storm! Brittany struggles to make the miles, Andy leans into the siesta life, and together we push to our second resupply at Reds Meadow (where milk shakes and grilled cheese sandwiches await).

    // 🤷‍♂️ WHO ARE YOU? 🥾 //
    We’re Brittany and Andy, and in July 2021, we set off on a 200-mile journey that began in Yosemite National Park and ended at the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. Along the way, we questioned our sanity, made some amazing friends, cried real tears of joy and even started a new chapter in our lives. Come along with us as we document our journey from Bad Hikers to thru-hikers on the John Muir trail!

      It is far and away one of the best experiences of our life. So much so that some friends asked us to do it with them this year and had we not had work conflicts would have likely hiked it all over again lol.

    Excellent commentary and video thus far. The 4K footage looks great on my 2K PC monitor and 4K TV!
    Despite the increasing smoke, I wish I was there with you. Perhaps I will when I retire in about 5 years.
    I got a lottery pick for a June 26 departure SB this year, but had to pass due to responsibilities and the increasing cost of travel from the East Coast. Air-fare and bus-fair has gone thru the roof!

      We felt very lucky to be traveling to the Sierras from Los Angeles - getting to the JMT from the East Coast is brutal, and so, so expensive! We ran into more than a few hikers from the East Coast who had to make pretty heroic trips before they even started hiking. I hope you get your chance to hike it soon. Thanks so much for watching!

    Thanks for sharing your journey & life moments. Great videos, looking forward to the rest. Would love to see a gear video, looks like you both were well equipped based on your experiences in the Sierra. Best, Chuck

    I have watched a zillion hiking videos and I think you may have the perfect blend of commentary and scenery. Great job. Having hiked the JMT in 2020 its so fun to see it again.

      AHHHH thank you so much thats so kind of you! Thats exactly the balance we were hoping to strike. And yes the best part of this for us is being able to relive the hike! Looking forward to what you think of the rest of the series.
