  • Selden Pass turns out to be little more than a blip as we hike to our halfway point on the JMT, Muir Trail Ranch! After picking up our third resupply, we head into King's Canyon National Park, home to some of the most breathtaking scenery on the trail: Evolution Valley, McClure Meadow, and Muir Pass. Brittany gets a trail name and Andy embrace his thru-hiker aesthetic. We both survive our first dried up water source -- and our second hail storm.

    // 🤷‍♂️ WHO ARE YOU? 🥾 //
    We’re Brittany and Andy, and in July 2021, we set off on a 200-mile journey that began in Yosemite National Park and ended at the top of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. Along the way, we questioned our sanity, made some amazing friends, cried real tears of joy and even started a new chapter in our lives. Come along with us as we document our journey from Bad Hikers to thru-hikers on the John Muir trail!

    Another fantastic video. The view of Marie Lakes from Selden Pass may have been my favorite view from a pass on the entire trail. Well done.

      The views were unreal. That clip of us walking up with Marie Lake in the background is one of our favorite clips of the whole trip!

    I used to go here and stay with my grandpa as a kid for a few weeks at a time, at diamond d ranch. Amazing memories.

    Sweet footage for such a nice section of trail. It doesn't get much better than that IMO.
    I had to cancel my lottery pick for a late June start due to too many things going on.
    I hope to hike it in the Fall of 2023 or later year. I'm 60 now so I better not wait too long.

      Ahh sorry to hear you had to cancel but we get it. It such a big time commitment. But well worth it, and yes!! no time like the present. Mb you could get out and so some sections of it as a little teaser! The Rae Lakes Loops is a pretty epic 4 day section with great access!

      @@BadHikers Good idea, but it's now pretty expensive to fly from anywhere, let alone the East Coast. Hence, it will be all or nothing when I go.

    so glad you got your rhythm goin!!
    Would it be possible to have the music volume lower in future vids? I keep turning my volume up so I can hear what you're saying and then way down again when it's just music.

    I know we’re not there yet, but when you finish the series I’d love to see a video on all the logistics of your resupplies! How you choose points, what y’all packed, how you guys got it there, costs, etc. I think it would be fascinating and give a whole other perspective of the trail. PS I’m loving the series!

      Of course! We're planning to do a gear/logistics video at the end of the series, but happy to answer any questions you have in the meantime. Thanks so much for watching!
