Always a pleasure my friend, so very happy you stopped by, trusted in me to help you, liked and subbed as well as took a moment out of your day to thank me. It means a ton to me and I am so very happy I could help you.
You need to make sure you get the specific BIOS update as there are a lot of revisions or versions I.E. V2 R2.0 etc[Search Exact name on your motherboard]. I have been in this field for 25 years and always update the latest BIOS before selling a PC. Updates are important for CPU or Ram compatibility and even security updates! If you download an update and see a file called renamer then you must double click that file to rename that BIOS update and so your motherboard sees that BIOS update file name, the renamer will rename the BIOS update now you can move that file to a USB drive, you do not need that renamer file on the USB drive.
Thanks bud, other than the renamer I go over everything in this video, I was a product development engineer for Alienware, then later Dell after then bought us and Velocity Micro and IT since then so yeah about 25 years as well. You don't need the renamer though unless you are doing a flashback.
@rwarren58 it does not require a name change and you have to make the thumb drive like I show you here, the name change is if you need to recover your bios. This might help you more: th-cam.com/video/1po734ckLFo/w-d-xo.html
I know this is COMPLETELY unrelated, but I have a question about hooking up the Elite Capellix H150i and also using QX120 fans in the front. The cpu cooler connects to the Commander Pro along with attaching to the CPU_FAN. The QX120 use iCUE Link, which needs PCIe and USB2.0, but also I think is supposed to attach to the CPU_FAN as well unless I'm wrong. Can I just attach the iCUE Link Hub to PCIe and USB2.0 and use the rest on the Commander Pro, or should I buy different fans for the front?
Yes, the Elite Capellix connects to the CPU Fan header, though none of that connects to anything PCIe, it does need 2 x USB 2.0 headers, but the Pro will need 1 USB port as well. You don't need to connect the pro to the cpu fan header, you can use another fan header, just make sure to set it as PWM in the BIOS. Not sure where you are getting PCIe from though?
I just built my 1st computer using a ASUS rog strix x870-e gaming wifi. I successfully updated the bios to a beta that dropped the day I started building. Well a couple weeks pass and I see another non beta dropped. ASUS doesn't have much I can find on the different versions, but the description is the same. Is it possible nothing is different between the two? I don't want to risk a bios update if not needed. Thanks
I see 0605, the beta, then 0606 is newer, came out 11/05/2024, it has AGESA updates and enhancing performance in some games but so did the beta. I think it might be OK to skip the official version (though I would flash to it, I am a flashaholic). rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x870e-e-gaming-wifi/helpdesk_bios/ I hope this helps
Hello Sir Iggy. Can you please tell me about why people prefer only top end cards like 4090 or 7900XT only when it comes to performance? I mean can't the cards like 7700XT, 7800XT perform better in gaming? Aren't the performance satisfactory of these? I am primarily talking about only raw. No RTX or DLSS included. Should I build a PC with 7800XT, 7900XT or 4070 Super. Which will be a good option?
Well, higher end cards are faster, and don't need to use FSR/DLSS and can better use features like RTX, I don't think there is a reason not to, higher end cards are better. The cons though are they can get hotter and use more power, but thats it. As long as you have newer hardware, the 7900XT migth be better, AMD can be more finicky with older hardware and cables, if you have older hardware, get a 4070 Super. With a 7900XT and 4070 you will be using Frame Generation, FSR and DLSS, you won't need them so much with a 4080 or a 4090.
@@ThisBytesForYou I intend to play in 1440p and live stream 1080p. All of the hardware are new. Only thing is what to choose between if it comes to 7800XT vs 7900XT only
I would go for the 7900XT, but the new series NVIDIA should be out in January, maybe save your money till that time, you could have saved so much more and get so much more too, just a possibility. AMD is early 2025 but no firm date.
I always recommend graphic cards within your budget 7600XT are very good cards with good performance to price comparisons, if you have the funds to get the best AMD then you can always move that to your next build as well. Remember when you buy a card and upgrade it down the road you will recoup some money when you sell your old card.
