You dropped this video exactly when I needed it thank you
how? is there no other videos online on this topic?
@@svgmateYT There actually are some videos available but you have to go digging. One gentleman named Mike's Unboxing does a lot of USB flashback demos and even has an alternate method for deleting any extraneous partitions on USB drives in the event the GUI Disk Management doesn't work.
I was scared to update my bios from 3.10 to 11.12 but you gave me courage to update. Thank you so much :)
did your PC explode ?
I'm still scared, how it go? 😂
Dude, I just built a PC and was thinking if I needed to update the bios to the latest or not until I found this vid. Tysm!!
its so funny how i was actually thinking about this topic like an hour ago thanks so much
well u mus thave tyeopd up
Tysm for these kinds of videos, especially those building new pcs and need to update bios for their cpus to work
Bro thanks I needed that info for about 5 an a half years thanks
Bro you made day with that intro. I laughed so hard. 😂😂 Subbed. Great content also!
Hey there! Great video with tons of useful info. One suggestion: having two wide-angle shots that are very similar can be quite jarring to watch. Consider mixing it up by using a close-up shot for the second one, maybe focusing on the screen or whatever you're demonstrating. This would make the video smoother and more engaging.
im about to build a pc w/ this mb i really needed this
I honestly had a bit of an "eep!" moment when the screen went abruptly dark because I thought "oh no, Marcus has finally accidentally yanked the cord out!"
Luckily, it was just NZXT's particular flash process.
Asrock style boards flash really quickly, its impressive
No matter how many times you do it, a BIOS update is squeaky bum time. It's like asking for trouble and the old if it ain't broke, don't fix it mantra is trying, compelling you not to do it.
That nervous wait as the install progress bar goes up, the power down, the restart...everything crossed, hoping its worked!
My pc kept turning off randomly it was old mobo z390 toma I updated my bios yesterday it's running okay for now this video came out right on time 😊
Thank you
would have been awesome to see the bios update what it looked like haha, since you had such an old version i was curious if they updated the uefi
@PC centric. Will you cover specs and recommended combo to cover AAA VR games please?
so i built my pc earlier in the year and idk much abt pcs and it runs a charm when playing games or having them in the background but if im just googling or chatting on dc it freezes but not blue screen just generally freezes and i have to force shut it down. i updated my gpu drivers didnt do much but would it be beneficial if i updated bios? i only bought stuff and built the pc in january and i have zero clue or any friends that are pc users
So my pc is giving me watchdog clock timouts randomly and it requires a restart sometimes what do you recommend i built 8 months ago roughly
so my friend build a new pc and didnt update the bios... and hes having like micro stutters every so often...would a bios update help?
Hello i found this about updating bios. May i ask if i really need, so im having a8 6600k and i see in my bios also in task manager it only using two cores and i try to fix it but in my bios there is no 4 core. should i need to update my bios?
Be aware if you have a multi 'monitor' setup where you only use one at a time (in my case a monitor and a TV), that flash mode will select what it considers as your default display. I was on my monitor trying to update my bios and when I entered flash mode through the bios, my screen went blank and remained that way and I thought that I had messed up. What happened was the computer/bios chose my TV as the default 'monitor' and output the video signal to that (which I did not initially see because I had it turned off). If you get a blank screen like I did, check your alternate output source(s) if you have any.
I have a second monitor in portrait mode and the computer decided that was the right monitor so I ran through the options sideways. Could I have turned the monitor. Sure. But where’s the fun in that
Hi I bought a b650 gigabyte eagle ax is it true that only the f2 works or will the f30 work fine
Simple one for me, my new AM5 MB didn't support the 7800X3D CPU out the box, so had to use the flashback option. All done in 5 minutes, and then running with the CPU.
i have the same MB and CPU and i'm new to PC building, so could you please explain what the flashback option is and how to do it?
Hello PC Centric, planning to upgrade gpu from 6600xt to 7800xt,Do I have to update bios(no other components changed)
It's good to do a vid like this every once in a while. There are infinite vids about installing the latest GPU but people should really watch this too.
I actually bought the TUF gaming 670 e back in January of 2023 and when I bought my new Ram just recently it didn't support it so I used the USB BIOS Flash and it worked like a champ but I was nervous LOL
I updated my Asus z790 about 6 months ago. but I have a 13900k. I haven't experienced any of the crashing issues that have surfaced recently, but I will still update to the current version. I hate doing it because if there is a power outage while its updating, you are screwed
Does this motherboard support flashing without anything installed on it? I would LOVE to get my hands on the DeepCool AIO you featured in this video, but they are no longer selling their products in the USA 😭
PC Centric, can you tell us how to update BIOS for NZXT's N7 Z790 without a CPU? There's a USB port that reads BIOS but there is no BIOS button, there's only a CLR CMOS button.
Hi! So what if the bios file on the manufacturers site says AMD security isse patch ... should i the flash it altough i have a stable system? Chers!
They say if your not having any issues, DONT UPDATE BIOs
What do you mean
And should I update if I just built a new one
@TheLxstStraw no if your motherboard is relatively new than its bios should work with most cpus
2 ram sticks, both work individually, all 4 ram slots work with 1 stick in. ram sticks and slots all good and fully compatible
put 2 sticks in for dual channel and was working fine for 4 weeks
now with 2 sticks in slots as per motherboard instructions, DRAM light comes on, wont boot to bios. tried alot. no fixes found,
time to flash the motherboard? will that fix it?
Bought MSI b660m mortar 2022, everything worked perfectly fine. Upadated to the latest BIOS version and the system would just NOT save the Fan curves, the system would work with fans at blasting 100% rolled back and it worked just fine. Not upgrading my CPU any time soon so don't really see a point. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
I did both methods and it didn’t detect both methods please help me
Updated my ASUS ROG B650 e e motherboard BIOS before upgrading to the 7800X3D CPU :) My board did take longer and went without a hitch, which was great for the nerves lol :D
Building a PC at the end of July. What's the first thing I should do when I turn it on? Boot into Windows install or sort out BIOS?
Just flash and update before u build
My motherboard is running memory training every time I turn my PC on. I wonder if a BIOS update would fix that.
I hope that fix it
There is an option to turn that off - you can set it to only do it when unplugged or cpu/mem change
You can turn on memory context restore
Thank you all for your replies.
So that wouldn't cause any issues?
I have this off. But now and again i get a memory training error every so often and have to force reset. Any idea why? @PcCentric
I bought intel xmp ram on my amd system, is that ok?
Could you tell me which Case you are using please?
It looks very nice, clean build.
It's a Phanteks NV5 I believe
Does it keep all your changed settings after the bios update? I did some memory timings changes etc when I first bought it all but that was 1 year ago and I can't remember all of it.
You will want to save them before proceeding
When I built this PC first thing I did was update the bios, mostly because the 650 is a bit flakey but a bios update fixes all the issues, but generally no if the PC runs fine then no need for a bios update. Research your board because sometimes it is needed, but as a whole no and if you've built it and everything is stable don't mess with it as you don't need every update that comes out. I had to update mine to get it to see my 6000mhz ram speed, other wise it only saw it as 4800mhz till the bios update, again read up and check youtube lots of content creators making videos. Also a decent board has bios recovery in the case of power failure, not all do you can brick your pc if it loses power that's why you should only do it if its a performance issue, don't do it just because a new version came out, if its not broke don't fix it 😅
what if i manually formated a non fat32 to fat 32
Mine keep saying no image file detected and I’ve been looking for a solution and found none. Plz help.🙏
Help my apps are not opening
i really need a guy like you to help me with my flight simulator game. It crashes in loading screens and such! :( i cant seem to fix it and i've searched everywhere to fix it. I was wondering if it might be a Bios problem.
Yes you should update it when new security fixes or new CPU support is added. I’d say skip beta bioses, though.
Hey Markus, updating the bios can be tricky if you're not certain of what you're doing!😅😊
Is Nzxt mobo still made by Asrock?
Do i need an empty hard drive to update my bios?
i have a B550 Aorus Elite V2, and mine is revision 1.0. On Gigabyte support bios download, theres versions since 1.0 to 1.5. I should download only the 1.0 right?
Generally you want the most recent non beta bios
Do you really need the memory stick to update the Bios?
Fun story. When I was younger, around 14 I'd say, I went to a friend's house and played on his computer a bit. While he was away, to go run an errand with his mom I think, he left me with the PC. Out of boredom, I hit the DEL key to enter BIOS and I found things that were disabled. I thought hey, I should enable those to make his PC better! I'm such a good friend. So I enabled EVERYTHING. Needless to say, he wasn't very pleased. (For those who wouldn't get it, the PC stopped working and he had to send it for repair).
RIP
You must of hated him or been jealous of the PC or something lol, no shot someone just does that whole sequence of actions by ''accident''.
@@sillyguy3546 Nope! My brain just went "Why does he have so many things turned off? It'll probably work a lot better if I enable everything, let's do that"
My bios is still on the version from when i built it in 2018 🤣I'm too nervous to update it and its still working so I'm leaving it. I want to upgrade to Windows 11 because I like the look of it but have put it off as I need to update my bios. Just the thought of my luck to get a power cut whilst doing it.
I bricked my B450 board when I try to update the bios a while back. Never looked at bios update the same since.
i’ve had a problem with my mother board that says wifi on the box, not having wifi, i’ve updated and installed the corresponding wifi drivers but still no luck
you probably need to look for an adapter that came with the mobo, on my asus mobo i had to connect it in the back, looked like a triangle
👍✌
Did it yesterday for the first time ever, using the EZ Flash mode on GIGABYTE board. Easy 5 mins.
I'm updating it now from a 2021 version 😬 oops. Preciate the video fam 💯
Is fat32 required? I have 64 gig USB drive but only NTFS and exFAT are available
NTFS is available too but try to find another older usb
@@Sunremp It’s cool I found out there was a way to reduce size on a bigger usb using device manager or something like that then it formatted to fat32 kinda dumb you have to do that
I always update my bios to a newer version but only if it's tested. Not a beta.
I am looking to buy a custom prebuilt PC from NZXT and wondered if a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and AMD Ryzen 7 7700X is a good combination. The complete build price is around $ 2100 USD, and I want to know if this is a good price.
Build your own cheaper than that with the same parts
@@Meredith87 I put it into pc partpicker and it’s about the same price. This is mainly because I would be using nzxt parts for looks. They only have a $100 build fee so it’s not bad and I don’t want to build it myself.
always update mine as soon as windows is installed
Yes you should update your Bios, especially if youre still using Ryzen 5000 series CPUs. Games will crash with the out of the box BIOS
I've bricked a motherboard before by flashing BIOS so I try not to do it unless it is something I really need like new CPU support.
5:48 The comment on AMD 9000 CPUs aged well haha 😅
I got this 0xc0000017 error and something about memory issues. It hasnt even been a year yet so Im doing everything i can before wasting money.
Winning
How do I know if my bios is fully updated or not?
Note. You should avoid updating your BIOS unless you have a specific issue you are trying to rectify.
If your PC is running completely fine, best to just leave it alone in my experience.
@@Buffinator1988 thank you very much I’ve had my new pc for a couple of months and never thought about updating the bios and if I needed to lol.
I always update my bios when it is necessary.
Ok I’m abt to build wht cpu goes with a 4060 ti
ryzen 5 5600x
i wanna update my bios cause itll add Direct Storage (hence giving a performance boost for no $), but im SCURRED lol I've had the file on my desktop for months just waiting lmfao
With the intel 13th and 14th stuff.... imaa guess you should before I fully watch this
Bro you look, sound and act like the guy from fitment industry lol yall got to be brothers
I had to update my BIOS in order for my 5800X3D to work on my ASRock x470. There are newer BIOS updates now for my board but I don't need it and don't care🤣 They are for AMD vulnerabilities which as I understand someone needs to be physically at your PC to do any harm, I'm good 😎
of course you should update it, thats what the updates are put out for!
I moved all my internals to a different pc case it ran perfectly fine for a while then as soon as I went to play a game it shut off and the cpu light on the EZ Debug came on
More info needed.
Does the PC still turn on if you power cycle it? But then just shutdown if you try to run a game?
Or since this issue first occurred, do you now get no display output at all and just this CPU led on the EZdebug?
I don’t get any display it turns on and the cpu debug light come on and that’s it
If it ain't broke don't try and fix it
Omg brother love to talk the video spouses to be 5 min brother make it 13 min for no reason i never see someone talk so much like him before
Now all thats missing is how to install games from steam and how to open the games to play it
yep 1rst
Pretty lucky
Wonder how many dead Mobos there’s gonna be once the update for Ryzen 9000 series comes out 😂
Videos too long
hi I need a gaming PC please help
