Be aware if you have a multi 'monitor' setup where you only use one at a time (in my case a monitor and a TV), that flash mode will select what it considers as your default display. I was on my monitor trying to update my bios and when I entered flash mode through the bios, my screen went blank and remained that way and I thought that I had messed up. What happened was the computer/bios chose my TV as the default 'monitor' and output the video signal to that (which I did not initially see because I had it turned off). If you get a blank screen like I did, check your alternate output source(s) if you have any.

I have a second monitor in portrait mode and the computer decided that was the right monitor so I ran through the options sideways. Could I have turned the monitor. Sure. But where’s the fun in that

You need more thumbs up because the amount of times any random update does this to my computers OR it registers my docked work laptop all inputting to the same monitors/tv and confuses it is unreal. Makes me want to just disconnect everything but primary monitor prior to major updates.

Bought MSI b660m mortar 2022, everything worked perfectly fine. Upadated to the latest BIOS version and the system would just NOT save the Fan curves, the system would work with fans at blasting 100% rolled back and it worked just fine. Not upgrading my CPU any time soon so don't really see a point. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

You don’t really need to use FAT 32 format some motherboards support exFat format and will work the same. If u have a USB stick that is 64 GB and does not support fat32 no need to get a different one, just put the bios file(after you rename it) in to a USB with an exFat format and as long as your Mother bord flash utility reads it your are good to go.For Ex i have a Asus ROG Strix Z690-F and the bios Flash utility has 0 problem reading exFat.I have done 5 bios Updates overall with this format and has 0 problems.

Consider mixing it up by using a close-up shot for the second one, maybe focusing on the screen or whatever you're demonstrating. This would make the video smoother and more engaging.

I have kinda of budget build probably about $1200. Its a new pc and everyone says you should update it. I dont think i agree. My bios is 2 away from the most recent. It seems to me that those most recent updates are only for the problems with the most recent hardware that came out recently like cpus. Im honestly not going to update it untill i run into problems. Its updated enough for me. Im not going to worry about it. Im going to leave it be untill it becomes an issue.

hey! so i'm planning on getting a new cpu, ryzen 5 5600x, my current one being the 5 1500x. i thought since it's going to be newer i should update my bios before i get it, so i just drop the new one in and start it right up. long story short it gave me a recovery screen with the code 0xc000000f which i didn't know what to do with so i just reinstalled windows, which sucks. now my question would be, did i mess up something with this simple installation, or do newer bios versions stop supporting older cpu's? i can't get any valid info about this for some reason. thanks in advance:)

When I built this PC first thing I did was update the bios, mostly because the 650 is a bit flakey but a bios update fixes all the issues, but generally no if the PC runs fine then no need for a bios update. Research your board because sometimes it is needed, but as a whole no and if you've built it and everything is stable don't mess with it as you don't need every update that comes out. I had to update mine to get it to see my 6000mhz ram speed, other wise it only saw it as 4800mhz till the bios update, again read up and check youtube lots of content creators making videos. Also a decent board has bios recovery in the case of power failure, not all do you can brick your pc if it loses power that's why you should only do it if its a performance issue, don't do it just because a new version came out, if its not broke don't fix it 😅

I wished he showed me how on the motherboard I bought, I was thinking before 08:29 LoL, that is the one!
Anyway, why I bought that one instead of a Zin 5 ready board is because of silver bar, aka 3d card PCI 5.0 slot. Which I found out just before buying that allot of Zin 5 ready cards did not have. That said, if you buy a AM5 now make sure it has support ford DDR5 6400 speed, M2 SSD Gen 5 (2280 setting) and main graphics cards support for PCI 5.0. Yes, RTX 5 series will support being on 5.0 ergo future cards most likely will as well. Will AM5 socket motherboard be outdated before PCI 5.0 is actually needed? Maybe, but my old computer and motherboard at 3kUSD for tower and content lasted me a decade, with a few 3d card upgrades. So that is why I buy similar parts again that will last.

my mobo is a320m a pro and i bought it in year 2020, until now i didnt update my bios (because i thought theres no need since i dont have any issue at all) but now i have to because i want to upgrade my RAM from 2666mhz to 3200mhz. well i found it on some forums that my mobo should ran 3200mhz by overclocking the ram. but it seems it coudnt because my bios last update was on 08/12/20. so its been 4 years. NOW MY QUESTION IS, IT IS MSI a320m a pro really supports 3200mhz ram or nah? and if it is YES then WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE FIRST. THE RECENT /latest UPDATE -----> (AMI BIOS 7C51v192(Beta version) 2024-09-25
OR THIS ONE -----> AMI BIOS 7C51v14 2020-12-09
    sorry for my english.

Fun story. When I was younger, around 14 I'd say, I went to a friend's house and played on his computer a bit. While he was away, to go run an errand with his mom I think, he left me with the PC. Out of boredom, I hit the DEL key to enter BIOS and I found things that were disabled. I thought hey, I should enable those to make his PC better! I'm such a good friend. So I enabled EVERYTHING. Needless to say, he wasn't very pleased. (For those who wouldn't get it, the PC stopped working and he had to send it for repair).

Reminds me of when my friend turned on my Marshall tube amp to plug and play it, not knowing anything about standby or any of the procedure. He had just always used Line 6 plug and play easy mode amps and figured he knew how to use every amplifier cause of it. The problem lies deeper therein, it's a fundamental disconnect - having too much confidence in your judgement, and having no consideration for equipment that isn't yours
