I like this, a step by step tutorial. Easier to follow compared to other videos
Outstanding video on the simplicity of a stage 1 tune, and the commentator did an excellent job articulating the process!! I'm tuning my A4 ASAP.
Glad it was helpful!
I have the exact same car as you do bro. (2015 audi a4 premium plus s-line) and I installed the stage 1 IE tune last night. I must tell you that the outcome was unbelievable I can't stress it enough.
Heck yeah!!! I did stage 1 and just wanted more and more. Lol. Don’t know if you saw my more recent videos but now I’m stage 2 with a crackle tune (upgrade charge pipes, intercooler, high flow downpipe, air intake, diverter balance, turbo muffler delete) Hahahaha. Car is a beast and so fun to drive.
@The Flexx Garage Broooooo I have watched all of your videos on this car multiple times. I'm just getting to a place where I can afford everything comfortably, I did do it out of order. I see I should have installed my cold air intake first but I plan on doing that next weekend. You are truly a gem for me with this car giving step by step tutorials.
Thanks man. I appreciate it a lot. I do what I can to entertain and help the car community. Some people always hate on my stuff but whatever, I don’t make content for them. I make content for people like you. So yeah. Thanks!
I did the same and added a K&N intake and it sounds so nice! Makes it sound like it has a blow off valve!
I got a 2010 Audi A4 2.0T, want to have it tuned but could never find a good video that was helpful until now
A lot more videos on my channel when it comes to mods.
Sameee my dad just bought it for me today i need help plz
This WILL be done for me soon. So excites to go IE!! Been researching them for a year now...waiting on warranty to expire 😂 😂
They are well known and trusted.

Yes !!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Been waiting to see this mod on a stock engine set up 👌🏼your facial expression at 6:44 said it all. You convinced me. I'll be getting this before Christmas 💥
I can’t wait to add onto it. With an intake, blow off valve, turbo muffler delete and a bunch of other stuff. Gonna be a fun build.
@@TheFlexxGarage I need to set my priorities straight and build on mine because I have all these things I had planned for it when I got it. Did a lot of research the first weeks I got it and then just stayed stagnant. Time to start making moves 👊🏼
@@8igdannyd me too man I did lots of research the first month, haven't done a single thing in the 9 months of ownership. Thanks corona lmao
I know this is gonna sound lame but i daily drive my car and having some more oomph would be awesome for when i wanna have some fun.
But what about when its driven light, what kind of mpg could you expect? I regularly get 29 to 30 being light, to 42 hypermiling and 26 mixed with not worrying about it.
If i can continue getting this kinda fuel economy while being light on it, but get that big power boost when i want it, that would be amazing. Honestly i feel another 65hp and 62lb-ft would be the perfect amount. 276hp, 320lb-ft? Thats a good number set of numbers.
I'm looking to get a a4 2008 soon and will chiptune it too. Stock it's 120hp and with the tune it will be 220hp, that's a 100% increase! I'm so stoked about this and been watching all your video's. One day I'll get a more modern a4 like you 😉
220hp isn’t as fast as you think it is
The 1.8l engine that produces 120 hp is electronically limited, as far as i know stage 1 tuning removes the limiter and gets you about 210 hp
@@verycoolguy5947if you have 120 stock its gonna be pretty fast for him
About to buy mine!! So excited
Just got my air intake turbo muffler delete and diverted valve after all that ships in and gets installed I’m going stage 1😎
I got a stage 1 only b8.5 s5 6MT. But I'll have to admit in the beginning I noticed the power difference. But after having the tune for about 8 months, I dont know if I notice and difference. It doesn't seem to pull as hard around the 3500 to 4k range. In the beginning, it did pull harder.
Can’t wait till mine gets to my house!!!! Let’s goo
I just ordered mine can’t wait 😆😆
How was it mate?
I have an Audi A4 B8 2013, i bought it used and now it has 207.000 Kilometers on the clock. Would you recommend doing Stage 1? I want to have more horsepower but im not sure if i can do this with such an old engine
As long as the car’s engine is in good shape, oil change and maintenance are up to date and done regularly.
Do NOT stage 2 your car without aftermarket parts or youre gonna be buying a new engine for that new Audi
This video is not about stage 2. I will be doing a stage two the proper way in some upcoming videos.
@@TheFlexxGarage Thats a series I'd love to watch brotha!

@@iconicweeb8843all you need for a stage 2 is a down pipe I would recommend going with a high flow and cold air intake as well
I’m very late to the vid, I just checked IE’s website and was wondering if I had to buy all 3 products to get this to work on my 2011 a4?
What 0-60 times are you looking at?
GREAT VID MAYNE
So i tuned my car and im wondering if i can return it... been less than 30 days
Did this affect the engine sound? does this car sound louder than before?
I didn’t notice a change in sound. Sound is usually affected by intake, blow off valve, exhaust or a crackle tune.
For future reference dont go WOT right after tuning your car. Give it about 100 miles because the car has to relearn the air to fuel ratio.
110% not true.
If you have a 2022 can the dealer tell if the tune was changed? Concerned about warranty. Can they tell if you tuned and changed it back?
Yes, usually they can. It’s up to them if they wanna cover your or not. Best to contact the dealer and ask if warranty is still active if you have a tuned car and if you have a problem that’s unrelated to the tune.
What can I do with me 2013 q7 S line supercharged , I wanna make more power but I also wanna save fuel too , any suggestions?
Which one did you get ? The one for $150 or 400?
He’ll yeah just bought the power link and stage 1 IE for my 2014 vw cc can’t wait so my friend smoked me in his wrx which his is 268hp now I can keep up with him and removes the speed limiter which I topped out at 128mph also how’s your mpg after the stage one tune in my 2014 vw cc with the 2.0T tsi in the city i get 18 to 20 at most mpg highway I get 31mpg
Can you please link me where your got those exact rims please please! And the brake pads
Hi just curious to know when you were connecting the battery charger to the terminals I didn’t see one connected on the negative one, any reason for that. 3:28
It’s not needed to connect the black clamp to the black terminal of a battery. It just need to connect to a metal part of the car so it’s grounded. Black = Ground
Plus on an Audi a4, the battery is in the trunk. What I connected the charger to was a positive perch and a grounding perch that’s located under the front hood of the car. I don’t know why Audi designed it that way but they wanted the battery in the back and they extended the positive connector all the way under the hood in the front. And a foot away from that positive perch is just a piece of metal sticking up where a charger can ground to.
Go watch my A4 strut bar video on you’ll see that grounding perch sticking out of the right side of the strut bar. It kinda looks like a bolt head and it has a “-“ on it (I believe?).
Love your videos! Just got a B8 A4. I was planing on doing basically the same exhaust setup as you and adding a K&N Cold air intake. Would you recommend I do that before the tune, and would IE be able to adjust the tune considering id have more airflow than stock? Thanks!
They recommend getting an intake first...but you don't really need it to do the stage 1 tune. I'm going to run an intake and some other stuff afterwards...and then retune. Not sure if I need to buy more credits or not for the stage 1 tune. I need to ask them.
@@TheFlexxGarage You do not need to buy any more credits to stay Stage 1... only the difference in cost to upgrade to the next Stage. Once you own a tune, you can flash it as many times as you wish, it's yours forever.
Hi, I was wondering if you can help me. I have an Audi A4 2020 2.0 T 40 TSFI quattro. I want to tune it but I'm wondering how it works because the Audi A4 2.0 T 45 TSFI quattro to my understanding has the exact same engine but its electronically more limited by Audi. Can I tune the 40 TFSI to the same potential as an 45 TSFI ? I was going to buy the IE ECU Stage 1.
Jb4, apr, ie,unitronic ? Really trying to see what’s best for my gli sel 2016..
I just tuned mine to stage 2, check engine light went off for about a hour but came back on. Is that normal?
Not to sound like captain obvious but Why won’t you hook up a code reader and see what the actual fault is that’s causing the check engine light. Cause a check engine light is never “normal” unless you did something on purpose that you know will cause the check engine light and you know what you did won’t harm the engine.
great now u get faster to the speed limit :D glad i life in germany and can speed to the cars limit.
right cus everyone follows the speed limit here in the US lmaooooo
Is there any upgrades/supports that I should add before tuning it to stage 1?
Nothing is a must but an intake can help. I did another video on installing the IE intake.
So just to confirm the car is completely stock minus the ie flash tune?
I don’t remember. Go to Audi A4 playlist on my channel, find this video, and watch all the videos before this video and you’ll see all the mods done before I did the stage 1 tune. My videos are all in order.
nice video bro, quick question i i have a A3 1.8t premium plus i need something else for a daily driver whiteout messing around with plugs or
transmission stock or may i need something for that? I'm thinking about a good cat back and intake system before the flash?
If you are gonna get a flash…def at least do an intake first. Some flash (like stage 2) usually needs a cat delete or upgrade high-flow cat so keep that in mind when getting an exhaust kit. You might as well get the whole exhaust done.
@@TheFlexxGarage thanks bro for the quick reply!
I have a 2010 pre face lift a4, is this safe to use on it? I’m at 99.4k miles. Also are you running the $150 one or the $400 one, what’s the difference? Please answer man.
You need to purchase the 400 dollar tune along with the power cord which is 150$ which is ridiculous, I did it to my 2014 A4 with 100k miles and it’s been good so far

Hi, will this work on 2.0 TFSI S line Estate 5dr Petrol S Tronic Euro 6 (s/s) (190 ps) ? Just brought it and want more power also can you revert back to stock?
Does this lower reliability by a significant amount?
No. It just unlocks existing power that the factory suppressed to meet government emissions and noise regulations.
On stage 1 do you have to put a air in take or anything
No but strongly recommended by IE.
What is the difference in 0-60 mph in seconds?
Good question
Cost, purchase process, total cost??
What the MPG like?
I’d love to know what this does to engine reliability, the major sore spot as far as I can tell with these engines
You and me both. I have a 2016 Audi A3 Quattro 2.0T. I'm building myself a custom exhaust for it that is basically just a cat back straight pipe. I want a bit more power out of it to keep up with my friends, and I also like the burble tune. I still have 6 months on left on the warranty, but also don't want to wait that long to get it tuned, but also don't want my engine to blow up on a tune.
Engine isn't gonna blow up with a tune unless you get a custom aggressive tune that's not stable. Then you run the risk of reliability issues. My IE tune is stable and sold to the masses. I can't speak for A3 but the A4, stay away from the B8 prefacelift. Mine is a facelift B8.5.
@@TheFlexxGarage The previous owner of my 2011 S-Line got an engine swap from one with 80,000km, but they don’t know if it’s pre or post facelift, guess I’ll have to check the VIN or other markings somewhere on the engine to find out.
Facelift is 2013+. Your headlights and tail lights don’t look like mine.
@@TheFlexxGarage I mean I don’t know the year of the engine it got swapped in. Probably pre-facelift but I’m optimistic
I heard people say to not even go stage one to just go straight to stage two
you need a couple mods for stage 2. no mods are required for stage 1, I believe.
And what’s the 0 - 60 time after tune?
stage 2 pleaseeeeee !! 👀👀
there are two types of tunes on the website, does it matter what one i get for 2016 A4
Get Stage 1 if your car is stock
What if I just did no downpipe just catback and air Intake for stage two ?
Nope. Stage 2 requires the high flow downpipe.
Great videos
Is Audi able to tell you did this mod if you ever wanted to reverse back & undue it? What are the cons if any?
You can always undo it and return back to stock with zero issues. But it being traceable…don’t know. You need to ask IE.
Just with any aftermarket mod, you need to do your homework especially when it comes to adjusting the ECU. If you’re trying to maintain a warranty…nobody can tell you what’s covered…only the warranty company can decide what you do is covered or if it will void your warranty.

i noticed your tuner has "credits" with a balance and a cost for tunes? why. does it come preloaded with enough credits for a tune or how does this work?
Cause that’s how you do the different stages. You buy the hardware and buy the credits. Each tune requires a specific amount of credits. I have a lot cause I’m planning on stage 2.
When you buy it initially there’s enough credits for one tune it cost $200 to switch stages

Hey Flexx is the tune from IE pretty much the same as the Revo stage 1?
I have a manual 2010 Audi A4 can I still use this flash tune or is it specific to each year?
Yes, you can. If your engine is a TSI/TFSI.

Did IE recommend doing a TCU tune to complement the ECU tune you did? I’m getting mixed responses on this - a shop said I need a TCU tune on my 2015 A3 1.8T because it has a 6 speed DSG.
Not necessary on a stage 1 tune on my car. Why won’t you just message IE. They are quick to respond and tell you all the details.
@@TheFlexxGarage thanks for the suggestion! I didn’t consider that.
4:32 whats the difference between 91 and 93 octane? If I select 93 octane I can only fuel up 93 octane gas? My hometown offers 94 octane gas on limited gas stations that's why im asking. 91 octane is available at every gas station and that's what I have been fueling my car with since day one.
When it says you need 93 octane it means that you should use 93 as a lowest. If you throw more air and fuel in it increases the risk of premature combustion or more commonly referred to as knocking. If you start running more boost you run the risk of knocking which can destroy your engine. So as a result you can run higher octanes but I would not recommend running a lower octane. It all depends what is written in the owners manual or a tune if you have one.
Oh yeah! 😎
Hey flex thanks for providing an updated video to the IE stage 1 tune. I’m thinking about doing it in the future. Did you see a big hit in Fuel efficiency?
None really. However, you will lose fuel efficiently from flooring the car more often. Lol. Well, that’s on you.

Hey bro can I just put that tune on my car if it’s already tuned by someone else or do I have to get the one that’s in it removed first
That’s a great question but I don’t think I have the answer. Literally, just go to IE’s contact page on their website and send them the question, they’ll let you know like within 48 hours. They are usually pretty quick and good with responses.
was interested in getting the IE tune, was curious to know if you had any reliability problems since you installed? Thanks
No issues. That’s why I stuck with them and did a IE Stage 2 tune. And the car was perfect.
Ok so what can I do with an 03 A4 v6 ... can this be done on that engine?
i use to own an 03 with the 3.0L v6, not much you can do with that engine tune wise as its N/A. Only thing to do is exhaust and intake
Sell it and buy a turbo petrol quattro. Tuning N/A cars doesn't give big power and torque. For that you need a turbo.
Can't find mod for 2008 audi A6 quattro s line help me out.
So I can do this with my 2014 A4 without adding any hardware or anything extra?
You need the dongle, software and credits loaded for the specific tune. You need to contact IE if you have more questions.
Has anyone did a stage 1 tune with a audi a4 b8 cvt transmission
Are u in comfort mode or dynamic
Won't this put unexpected extra stress on your motor and cause damage?
Also, will this void your warranty?
No and depends.
Cars from the factory are tuned for fuel efficiency, comfort, and other crap to “meet” regulations. The cars are not tuned for optimal power. That’s why just getting an aftermarket tune on cars usually unlocks a good chunk of power that the car was meant to handle. And a tune from a reputable company like IE will not cause damage. If it did, they would be outta business a long time ago instead of being praised by the Audi/VW community. Taking a car to a dyno shop to have them manually tune it, is the risky tunes cause it’s custom and they could be pushing the limits way too much. You need to find a reputable shop if you want a custom tune.
Voiding warranty depends on the audi dealership servicing your car. You have to do your own research there cause every dealership does things differently. Usually they don’t wanna cover you for anything, if you have any aftermarket parts/tunes on your car. They are there to make sure your car runs and drives to factory standards.
is there a way to make the fender and quarter pannel wider just like an rs5 ?
Of course...all depends on how much money you wanna spend to get it done. Anything is possible
Is there a way to check if my car is tuned up?
Hey what do you think about a jb4 for my 2016 S3
When will you be moving up to stage 2 with a integrated engineer in tune???
since it's winter-ish now in my area....I might wait until spring (March) to do it. We will see. Maybe I will install all the necessary engine parts (intake, downpipe, etc..) during the winter and then stage 2 tune the car as soon as March hits.
@@TheFlexxGarage Great plan, we are excited to see it! Just make sure you don't install a downpipe unless you do a Stage 2 at the same time. Those need to run together or you can cause some issues. Intake and intercooler are not required for Stage 1, but can be installed with it just fine and help a lot. Glad to hear you're loving your IE Tune!
does this sacrifice reliability? I want to add more power but I'm a student and work so don't have a ton of time to mess with my audi
No. Not stage 1. It basically unlocks the power that Audi suppresses before the car leaves the factory. Still super reliable.
@@TheFlexxGarageso I wouldn’t have to upgrade intercooler or anything like that to have stage 1 if I already have dp
would this tune work for audi a3 2015 1.8t? and when selecting the tune whats the difference between the 91 and 93 octane. Would we have to get 91/93 octane gas for our car after the tune
You need to ask IE for your car
Question; are you switching to sport mode? (I'm looking for ways of boosting my A4 performance as well
Sport mode doesn’t do anything with power. All it does is let the transmission shift at a higher RPM. The throttle lag is still there and the lack of power is still there.
