Full bolt on B9s are running low 10s easy, some are even dipping into the 9s. Good to see this platform getting some recognition. They are fast as hell without much effort
They’re running low 11s FBO, quite a gap. OFC there are always tin cans and freaks that can’t seem to be replicated, but on average it’s fair to say a FBO e85 b9 averages low 11s. No reason to stretch it out, that’s damn impressive as it is. This particular car is hybrid turbo and FBO and turned in 11.1 but I would bet with a nice healthy trap speed pushing high 120s MAYBE even a very low 130s (Based on ET for AWD launch and the 135 traps of a Huracan and the way it was slowly overtaking the Audi by the end). The EA839 can do some good numbers but the reliability has been questionable, starting with the rocker bearing issues, which several part revisions later isn’t fully ironed out. And no, I’m not a a hater, I wanted the B9 to be better than it is, so I had something to upgrade to from my B8.5 car. But the EA837 just seemed capable of more punishment out of the box. The DL501 transmission was the weak point there, which was mostly solved with the mechatronic upgrade. The EA839 has had more than one common failure point even on stock cars. As a result, I went another direction personally, which sucks because the B8.5 was my second favorite car to date, and I still miss things about it (blower whine, fantastic seats). But I’m B58 powered now and don’t regret that one bit. I guess between the EA839, DAZA, S58, B58, VR30, even the EA888, it’s a brilliant time for tuner cars. To bad it’s coming to close right as it feels like it is peaking 😢

Everyone else even remotely in that range are using hybrid turbos… One is a tuning company with 250lbs removed (like I said, tin canned) and full Hoosier setup and drag style suspension with high durameter bushings replacing everything, and inserts too. (They also did not shared a verified dragy slip. With a trap of only 126mph. I’m not putting 034 Motorsports down (I ran their TCU and ECU tune on my 2013 S4 and had issues but that’s another discussion) but they have a history of sharing numbers that no one else can replicate. The only other guy I have seen ran a 10.99 and it was with -0.85 slope and also tin canned. He was also running a specific 034 file as he is sponsored by them. Again he trapped 124mph. He had a full drag suspension setup also. He also was using abnormally small wheels, not a normal street setup. Both would be high tens (10.69 and 10.99) not low tens like you are claiming. That’s a giant gap in drag racing. Like I originally stated, normal users are NOT seeing tens even FBO e85 unless they’re also doing full drag setups for suspension, special wheels and tires and removing hundreds of pounds in weight. Doing lower 11s on the other hand is a common occurrence on stock turbo, full weight, normal street going cars with normal suspension and tire setups. Which is still really fucking impressive. No reason to stretch the truth. It’s still really awesome. I moved away from Audi after my B8.5 because I didn’t like the reliability issues with the EA839 but they still clearly are very fast. I respect what they can do.
Have to say on the replay. I am not convinced that the Audi S4 won the second drag race. In order to improve the slow mo finish I would suggest a drone which would give a raised view of the finish and a bit closer as well.
Ive gotten around 11.8's on my b9 s5 , with my only stage 1 tune should be able to notch that down to 11.7 . The ZF 8 speed gear box really comes to play once you tune the TCU. Easy mods , cost efficient hands down one of the quickest cars on the road .
yeah people claim bs hp on their numbers all over the internet. I have a B8 S4 Supercharged and people upload videos like how the Car is doing 100-200 in 11.XX secs with a stage 1, meanwhile theres many other guys including me who can do 10.3 with a stage 1. Reason is because we actually have people who know what they are doing instead of getting the cheapest and braindead software from costco because they saved 200 bucks... So many cars in carwow videos are badly remapped it just hurts, especially because people think they only need a engine ecu tune but no gearbox remap, thats why so many cars broke down lol...
Its a HUGE surprise, the S4 is a lot more down on power, a lot heavier. Theres absolutely no reason why the S4 could even remotely beat the Lambo. This gives me Porsche vs Everyone else vibes.
MATTTT YOURE NOT IN SPORTS TRANS MODE 7:53. It still say S3 instead of D3 in auto, you have to pull the shifter down one more time. Because it’s a waste of our time if you’re just in auto normal settings… D mode is detuned. Obviously if you’re trying to measure drag races, measure it correctly.
you can tell the front and rear lambo wheels are different sizes because of how the shutter effect makes them seem to move at different directions. pretty cool effect.

Bruhhh the brakes on that S4 are from 034 (OEM 6 Pot Front Calipers and 2 Pot Rears), about 2600$ in Rotors, and 300$ in pads I think, the fact it stoped faster than a Lambo with Carbon Ceramics which probably cost oh idk $15-20K? that is fucking impressive as shit. 🤣
@@АлександрЦехов high-end cars are generally not cost effective. The S4 depreciates faster than a rock goes to the bottom of the ocean, and tunes on cars that already have turbos are marvelously cost-effective. Lots of cars in that class are sexy buys if you're only looking for straight line speed.

Not notorious, I’ve worked at the dealer for 5 years now and have yet to see one in person. They are known on 2017-2018 build date cars that are not well maintained but by no means notorious.
I'm curious to see when Matt will arrive in the 21st century and measure the 1/2 mile races and braking distances electronically instead of relying on the reaction speed of the drivers to measure a time or distance.
Audi definitely lost sales when they decided to put a diesel in the S4. In fact, i think Audi enjoys not seeling as much of their S and RS models as BMW and Merc sells their sporty models. That right there, was self sabotage. Bring back the petrol S models.
its the VW's group decision to do that,they wanted more people to buy the porsche and Lambo.Audi did make good RS cars but the difference between the Audi and Porsche performance cars wasnt much.So most people were opting to buy the cheaper Audi than the porsche and lambo.
yeah gotta say 034 is absolutely mental when it comes to delivering what they claim. I saw software remaps from other tuners which people actually bought and the same stage 1 made like 60 hp less, drove worse and they regretted it. In Europe the only tuners i would recommend is 034, Darkside Developements, Broo Performance, GAD (if you are rich lol) and Klasen. APR is fine if reliability is important to you or you need it to be legal. But most other tuners like ABT, MTM ... damn i don't know what to say its not for me after i heard from people that they regretted it to not get it from someone else because there were so many horses left in the stable for a much higher price than the others i named.
@@DarkSession6208 in the us for the B9 platform S4, APR is not where the money’s at in terms of reliability and performance. Of course you’ll have biases but that’s what I’ve gathered before deciding on 034. I’ve reliably driven more than 1.5 years. Stage 1 93 octane for now. Haven’t heard of a few of the brands you e mentioned, I’ll look into it. MTM and ABT are the old tuners in the game that forgot to invest in R&D, for the most part.

The audi EA839 is a very potent engine. Hybrid turbo with ethanol fuel and you're making good power. Even the older supercharged platform, the EA837, is pretty quick, too.

I saw software remaps from other tuners which people actually bought and the same stage 1 made like 60 hp less, drove worse and they regretted it. In Europe the only tuners i would recommend is 034, Darkside Developements, Broo Performance, GAD (if you are rich lol) and Klasen. APR is fine if reliability is important to you or you need it to be legal. But most other tuners like ABT, MTM ... damn i don't know what to say its not for me after i heard from people that they regretted it to not get it from someone else because there were so many horses left in the stable for a much higher price than the others i named.
@@DarkSession6208 in the us for the B9 platform S4, APR is not where the money’s at in terms of reliability and performance. Of course you’ll have biases but that’s what I’ve gathered before deciding on 034. I’ve reliably driven more than 1.5 years. Stage 1 93 octane for now.
Haven’t heard of a few of the brands you e mentioned, I’ll look into it. MTM and ABT are the old tuners in the game that forgot to invest in R&D, for the most part.

Love how these videos demonstrate super cars like the Lamborghini are only for the rich and yet the price difference is not worth it for the performance. I'd take the Audi B9 anyday even if i was minted. Besides, bought a 2L Diesel B9 and absolutely love it, dream came true.

The audi EA839 is a very potent engine. Hybrid turbo with ethanol fuel and you're making good power. Even the older supercharged platform, the EA837, is pretty quick, too.
