    Nice video Bro! I almost pulled the trigger on a B9 S4 but instead went with the 8V.5 FL S3. 2019. I test drove both, but the S3 felt more fun and "agile" to me as well as having a chasis that you can toss around with confidence. I also went with 034 for my tuning, I just did stage 2 and I absolutely love it. Im ripping 0-60 in 3.8 , quarter mile Im hitting 12.1, Im running 93 octane though. I also have 034 dog bone sub frame mounts, sway bar and CAI. I waited about a year to tune my S3, I definetly regret not tuning it sooner.

    I have stage I Malone tune on my Audi. It wakes up the engine in a way that you never imagined. The gas mileage is the same, the transmission shift points are improved and quicker, the mountain of torque makes acceleration effortless, and the throttle is properly sensitive again. I've had it for months now, and no CELs, blown up parts, or any other issues apart from the fact that I love driving it now. Biggest bang for your buck mod IMO.

    I stumbled upon a 2019 B9 A5 S-Line with only 17k miles and I bought the extended warranty along with it. I have heard conflicting information about putting a tune into the vehicle and the warranty. If I put a tune in the vehicle, just speaking in general here, do you think that it would void the warranty on parts if something went bad? I had a '95 Eclipse! No power doors locks or windows, but it did have the power seatbelt!

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here's how it works. If your car has an issue that can only be diagnosed by plugging it into the OBD reader connected to Audi's computer, it will find the tune and alert Audi corporate. Then Audi corporate will deny any warranty claims related to the engine and possibly other issues. Now, not all issues have to be diagnosed by plugging the car into that computer. So, for example, my dealership is very aware of my tune and very cool with me. They do everything they can to avoid plugging the car into the Audi diagnostic tool. Not all dealerships are that nice. So... I established a good relationship with my dealership first before the tune. I also established a relationship with a local mechanic. I've had warranty issues resolved at my dealership without issue. I've also had issues they couldn't fix because they'd have to alert Audi. So if you're worried about warranty, get a backup plan or don't tune.

  • @brentbouwer
    @brentbouwer ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Nice video thanks. I have a B9 S4, coming from a BMW 440i the throttle response is terrible stock! It is one of the things making me want to get rid of the car. It feels like you're pressing your foot into pudding and there is no connection between throttle pedal and engine compared to the BMW. I love the car otherwise, does the Stage 1 from 034Motorsport make the throttle response far better in daily driving? My biggest gripe is driving the car in D, there is almost a second delay when flooring the throttle, for example when coming to a roundabout (I'm in the UK) you see a gap, press it, nothing, nothing, nothing then it lurches forward and the car coming is now on top of you. It is appalling compared to the BMW. Would love to hear your thoughts on if the Stage 1 tune fixed that! Thanks

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All great points. Let's see... where do I begin... I'm also a former BMW owner and simply love the quality and design aspects of Audi. Secondly, I would never drive in "D" in the S4 for the same reasons you're describing. It has to be in dynamic sport to really get a response out of it. Did the tune help? Yes, because it's both an engine and transmission tune, so you wake up both. I don't know what type of fuel options you have there, but (Spoiler alert) I just tune to E85 fuel and went stage 2 with my transmission tune. 😮 now the care feels incredibly fast and responsive... like Tesla quick. So my advice would be to choose e85 if/when you tune. If not, you'll still notice a difference in the performance. Because the car has a turbo, it's impossible to completely eliminate the turbo lag, but you'll still see a noticeable improvement in the car. I think it's the cheapest and easiest way to get better performance out of the car. Keep me posted on what you decide. You can also follow me on Instagram @themidlifemods. Good luck mate!

    • @mcjerica
      @mcjerica 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Drive in S. And better yet in Dynamic mode. If you're in Comfort mode and D, yeah you missed out. Rocking the shifter back into S transforms the throttle response, and especially with the Sport package, the car takes off at any angle instantly.

    Have you noticed much difference in gas milage after tune or is it too early to tell, I have a 2017 s5 but if anything it is the 4 year warranty I bought with car that's stopped me from tuning it. That and the fact that tuning while making it faster is probably going to mess with gas milage and the main reason for me getting s5 instead of the 4.0 s6 or even the s8 which are faster to start with was that balance of power to consumption. Funny that we're always looking for more I keep looking at these videos and thinking about it. Enjoy your car mate they are definitely a lot of fun.

      That may have solidified the decision for me. I worry for the warranty aspect that in a sense it voids warranty. Have you had any warranty scares or have you taken your car to the dealer flashed being you’re most likely still under warranty since its a 22?
      My dealer guy said just flash back before i bring it in lol

    • @midlifemods
      @midlifemods  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have taken it to the dealership for several basic maintenance issues. The risk really depends on the issues. Some issues can be resolved with basic inspection. Others require plugging the ecu into Audi’s diagnostic computer. Well that computer can send data to Audi corporate and flag your car if it’s tuned. So you just need to tell your dealership service center not to plug it in to that without your permission. Because even if you flash it back back to stock, Audi may be able to see that it’s tuned. But yes. I’ve had it serviced under warranty without issue.

      That Eclipse was a lot of fun. Good memories. When I browsed forums for either company, I found a lot of people struggling with errors and faults from IE. I didn't see that with 034. @Luke A I'm happy to address it here if you'd like. I know a lot of people have concerns about the warranty, but that didn't hold me back for a few reasons. And this is not legal advice. 🤣 1. The quality and support from 034 Motorsport is incredible. 2. I have a great relationship with my local mechanic at German Auto Specialist. 3. I have a great relationship with my local Audi dealership service department. 4. I bought this car to drive it on and off the track and modify it to enjoy it to the fullest. I'd rather do that now with low miles than have to wait and start modifications 40k miles in. Such a long time to wait for so much fun. And at this point in my life, I wanted to really enjoy it. 5. If you have a good relationship with your local dealership, you shouldn't have to worry too much about the warranty. Obviously, there is no guarantees, and I recognize the risk, but hey. I'll enjoy it while it lasts. :)
