Jackson's Lighthouse is also a place where some Rats will hang out, because it makes it so you can get anywhere within the bubble in only 2 or 3 jumps.

There's a video on here of someone trolling people with Achenar 3. It was just after horizons had released and they basically told players there were high paying missions available at an installation on the planets surface. They then parked their ship nearby and watched players ships plummeting out of the sky and exploding on impact. Evil genius at its finest!

Exactly. 18 Camelopardalis C is a neutron, but it's not very useful because it's 90kls out.
Also, Lalande 25224. Its partner is a PSR star, and also the jump in star, which makes it useful... if you're up at the top of the bubble.
I thought I had found one in a system not far from V374 Pegasi

I actually stumbled upon Mitterand Hollow on accident back when I was new to the game and was still flying a Cobra. I was able to successfully land on it and it was really cool, one of the things that got me hooked on Elite.
I've had this game for 4 years now and I've still never got round to visiting Sol.
i just visited but to be fair other than seeing the worlds sol is pretty useless haha. so much missed chances like moon settlements mars etc.
I always liked seeing the Imperial capital shipyard in Cubeo.

For me HD148937 3 is a must visit. A beautiful world lit by many colorful suns just 1,300 light years from Sol. Oh, and at 9.77Gs, the highest landable world I know of.
So I found that crazy moon hard time trying to land on it but bloody hell was it fun

For pure beauty I suggest the east and west veil nebula, they're a few thousand ly away but the colours are fantastic.
I was pretty disappointed when I headed to the eagle nebula and there were no pillars of creation :(

I'd add Sirius Atmospherics, lots of people want to go there because it's beautiful.

It's also popular because the Robigo mining prisoners love going over and looking at it for big bucks.
I'd say Hauser's Reach in the Robigo is pretty neat. The station is actually inside the asteroid belt around the planet it orbits. Most people have probably been there since it was a popular passenger mission station. Still, cool place.

What I'd like to see in ED is a moon in(side) the Roché limit and falling apart, even if I couldn't land on it.
Those exist. They are being stretched and look like eggs. Some are super close to stars and move really fast and look like dodecahedrons.

Just landed on Mitterrand hollow one of the coolest places I’ve ever been, there’s a huge crater with a smaller crater in it that I landed a wild triple flip on! Had so much fun there with the low gravity
Cool video! I will have to have a look at those places when I get back to the bubble. The reason no one has a list of planets in the bubble is no one explores the bubble, you need to get at least 2500LY outside of it before any exploration begins really, finding new earth like planets and that. I am 22000LY out now, colonia, really good system and conveniently close to the centre (compared with distance to colonia).
I want to race that moon....

Aw man, I never went to Achenar 3. Can't wait for full release of chapter 4 so I can go there. Don't have the game installed as of now because there's really not much to do.
Man. I did a full geological adventure a couple of months ago. Was perhaps the most beautiful experience I witnessed in game. If you want I could give you a list of sites? Although 3.3 will make them pretty redundant haha :D
Correction: Jackson's Lighthouse isn't the only neutron star within the bubble, but it is the only one that's a primary star. Within 200 ly of Sol, there are 9 others as secondaries.

This is physically not possible, it would require an insanely stronger gravitational field from the Earth..

My favourite place is probably the log out screen. And my favourite thing about elite is definitely complaining about it.

Well to be serious for a second I can say that I used to love the game. However I just couldn’t handle the content after a while, or more like the lack of it. Warping like 200 times to get to a place that’s more or less identical to where you came from gets a bit repetitive after a while. The game really needs like long range warp gates or something to speed it up a little.
i think theres plenty of content, if you are prepared for a grindwall for every step you take. that's my issue after 2k+ hours, wish it was p2w so i could just buy some stuff instead of being forced through gameplay modes i don't enjoy, to unlock essential stuff. that being said i'm a sucker for it and keep coming back after every large break i take from it. anyway the new studd adds a lot of quality of life improvements and the game keeps evolving, ever so slowly. x4 looks awesome as well buuuut, i really like e:d history and lore. hope to see you around, fly safe.
I have only ever gotten 1 or 2 permits from playing my few hours but i still got to visit sol so I don't know what your talking about unless its just a really low level permit i just didn't realize i had.
The sol permit requires the petty officer rank with the federal navy

@@shukfahid you supercharge your fsd by going into the neutron stars Jetstreams and will increase your fsd range by I think 100%. Watch a tutorial first as doing it wrong can cause your ship to explode

One little correction: There are other neutron stars in the bubble. I know of at least one in V886 Centauri, currently a Felicia Winters exploited system. Tanner City is the main station of interest in the system.

Sirius B is definitely a white dwarf and possibly the most famous one known in Sol. It was the one that would actually lead to the discovery of white dwarf properties as known today! Note it was not the first one to be discovered.

i visited the Voyager probes. i was so proud, they were VERY tricky and time consuming to find. a couple of months later Frontier updated the exploration mechanics so they can be targeted from right next to Sol and it's just a longish run out to them. WHYYYYYYYY! now any bozo with a Sol permit can find them. sigh.
jackson's lighthouse is not the only neutron star near the bubble. there is another one in 18 Camelopardalis.

Remember kids, you can make friends that you otherwise could not meet in the game. Go to ARENA pick FREE FOR ALL , then during the match you can send friend request to everyone by pressing number two, and tapping your left or right arrows until you see a list of players with the abbreviated note of CQC . Then send friend request. Of course you will be getting killed while this happens , but at least you know your making friends with a player you know can fight, thank you for reading this.

The Moon of all places should be a place to land and explore. What could have been the most exciting place of all would have been Mars, but no someone decided to make it a water world. What a waste.
@@COWBOYBARNMAN the moon will be landable at some point developers are doing it by hand from the Ground Up rather than random generated like they did with the other planets we can land on
When i think about exploring in Elite. I think of..getting some safe money while switching into half braindead mode.
If it circulates around a star, it might be a planet. If it circulates around a planet it must be a moon. Problem solved
However, the brown dwarfs are kind of in between stars and planets. Sometimes the system map classifies them as stars, sometimes as planets. It's a little confusing.

Even if it orbits a star it does not have to be a planet. The key difference is that planet´s orbit is cleared from space rubble, i.e. asteroid fields and so on. That´s why Pluto was stripped of its planet designation. But I´m not an astronomer, so correct definitions may differ.

It's looking and sounding pretty impressive do far. I think Frontier have done us proud, the stream Thursday will confirm but I think we will all be playing again soon.

First Ships don't really matter in this game. They behave just the same, with slightly different loadouts and modules. There is no true specialisation so I don't really bother. On top of that FDev usually shows something that is really good then find a way to fuck it up. Not in concept but in execution

And basically all major releases up to that point. I admit it would be very hard to fuck up there but it's FDev, they chose a moron to be designer, all can happen

i have elite in expiration. the goids make sure of that. i took one on yesterday and expired after about 5 minutes.
The moon around new Africa is totally possible if it's a captured exo planet. Moving at that speed at that proximity though would create super tides on the planet below however. It would take millions of years for it's orbit to widen and it's speed to slow. But eventually it would be a stable body. Provided it isn't orbiting retrograde, in which case ehhhh...that planets gonna die.

Not really, if it would've been captured it would have an absolutely insane apoapsis, and would be slower because at the current speed it just could not orbit New Africa without leaving the orbit again. It's just not how physics work, an orbit is essentially nothing but falling around another object and that requires very specific numbers, numbers that you can calculate, and if you do those calculations with the current numbers represented in the game you get to the conclusion that the moon would either leave the solar system and / or would get simply torn apart by the gravitational forces.
@Keith Weng: Africa on current Earth is developing and growing incredibly fast, like many other developing countries as well. Unfortunately this includes growing demands, including luxury demands, and energy, dirty energy because it is cheaper. It's why we're almost certainly completely fucked as a species in regards to climate change. The remaining world wants to live the same wasteful life as the modern countries, and we already are more than enough to fuck everything over. Just imagine the remaining parts of the world consume the same crazy amounts. Not Africa is dying, we are, as a species.
Any moon that naturally forms around a planet starts out very close. It's speed over time causes the orbit to widen. It did with Luna. If that moon formed around new Africa naturally it wouldn't stay that close or move that fast so late into it's development. It would tend to migrate away and slow over millennia. Captured objects usually get ejected or move on extremely eccentric orbits that we have observed but that doesn't mean that if it were moving at just the right speed and just the right angle that it couldn't be captured in a stable orbit around another body. I do agree about gravitational waves tearing that moon apart though. It's proximity and speed make it's existence unlikely and seemingly unstable.
it moves at 876 km/s, fairly certain that is much higher than it's escape velocity, so no, it's impossible.
It's also still whole which it wouldn't be passing so close so quickly to a mass that large, and yet...
