After 11 years experience of Warfare shooters and the largest game budget on the planet coupled with the amazing tech they have available would you not think that Activision could commission an amazing open world FPS wargame that allows the player to get immersed in a campaign with huge scenarios, open ended missions, tactical options that can change on the battlefield when the player decides, vehicles that the player can drive, full coop and no Kevin fucking Spacey. No, instead we get this bullshit shovelled down our throats yet again.

I agree, i'd love to see this tired franchise experiment with an open world title. I'm sure they could find ways to incorporate the cinematic style the series is known for. As it stands there is very little room for any kind of tactics, it is as Mack says; a game for kids, which is a real shame considering the huge budget and talent behind the production.
Is this a review or a rant?
No more COD games for me until they do another historic battle title. Now days I just play Planetside 2, its freaking free to play with thousands of people fighting on a big..... juicy freaking map with no loading in between, and you got tanks transports aircrafts, gunships, and so on. All over the place, now that is war, you'll often find your self in a war of 200+ people, and when everyone is rushing at a base, its like freaking D-day in the future. Mack you should check it out, and hey man its free to play.

Mac - the 'pay your respects' scene with you nodding at the mourners is the funniest thing i've ever seen.
I think the main problem is the price. Were this to be a £15-20 expansion for Call of Duty, where it was advertised as more of the same for those who like it, with some new cool features, then great, go for it. But £40 on PC (more on consoles) for a 5 hour campaign and some multiplayer modes we've seen before, branded as a new game, with highly priced DLCs announced pre-launch, it's just not good. Good on you, Mack, hope this gets traction. I'm sure as hell sharing it.

PC version looks terrible. It has horrendous mouse acceleration which you cannot turn off, it cannot cope with mouse polling rates over 125hz (most now are 500-1000Hz), you have a to dumb down your mouse to have an accurate aim,

***** I see. Is the monitor's maximum resolution 1990x1080? Seems like an odd aspect ratio. I have a first gen true HD monitor from about 6 years ago and its native res is 1920x1200
tehf00n Weird, my 1080p monitor does me well enough. I won´t drop the bucks needed to get 4k, or 21:9 or some other rediculous resolution as long as I don´t have the disposable income nessesary to compensate for that.
1080p is for TVs not PCs? Really? Why? Does TV not benefit from higher resolutions? Why is almost every decent priced 16:9 Monitor in 1920x1080p? If you can afford to play at higher resolutions to satisfy your e-penis, then fine, but don´t start acting all high and mighty, and talking down to people with 1080p monitors.
People don´t want bad console port games? Then don´t fucking buy them, teach the industry a lesson by pirating the fuck out of their games and writing open letters to them, stating WHY you don´t feel like paying money for their product.
Chrinik its nothing to do with satisfying my e-penis. I enjoy a finer resolution. When I use 1080p or 720p on my monitor I get a horrible stretch in aspect ratio (my brain prefers 16:10 over 16:9) and it makes the text in game look like it needs 16x AA to be readable. I wasnt acting high and mighty. If you take amoment to re-read the post I was being satirical about the pc master race jokers. I dont buy bad console ports. Thanks for the advice but I have been gaming for 34 years so I figured that one out back when I was copying games from tape to tape.

There is really no reason to review or look at reviews at all. It's a CoD game, it's exactly what you expect and nothing more. If you love CoD then you will already have bought the game. If you hate CoD there is nothing new to bring you in. If you are indifferent like me then you'll just rent it for a weekend for some quick popcorn gaming and be done with it. That's all there is to it. *shrugs*

Astral esfe Yeah, I can't think of any FPS as of late that I realy enjoyed, except Shadow Warrior (but its one that takes some cues from classical shooters like Painkiller), maybe Wolfenstein: The New Order, Bulletstorm, and Serious Sam 3 came close to what I've been wanting but holy hell is that really all of it? I have to be playing Doom 1 and 2 in this day and age with mods, just to have a decent time with a FPS. I mean the state of gaming right now is horrendous, thankfully we are seeing more genres get the attention they deserve with Walking Dead, X-com, and indie stuff. Hope we get a real shooter soon.
After having a chance to complete the campaign and do a few rounds of multiplayer since writing that comment I can safely say....my opinion is exactly the same. It's a competent game, the shooting feels good as always and it looks nice and the near future tech is prety cool. However the story plot goes from realistic to GI Joe cartoon levels but to be fair Kevin Spacey is very good even if he never uses an exo suit. Overall it's a decent game but anyone trying to tell you it's not the same old extremely linear and scripted style is just blowing smoke up your arse. It's CoD and you already know if that is for you or not.
Black ops 1 was the last time I enjoyed COD. It seems to get worse every year. And now I see black ops 3 is gonna be some more futuristic bull. No thx BF is my new thing
Yes battlefield is so much better than call of duty but battlefield hardline is probably the worst game I've ever played the game was a disappointment

Tribes Ascend is not a bad game either. It's just a total shame that the devs completely botched their chance of doing something good with it and then they left it out to die when they saw they could milk more money out of Smite instead of properly caring about Tribes Ascend.
Completely agree. Tribes 1 and 2 really nailed jetpack gameplay, 15 years ago.

I loved CoD once it was awesome until WaW but why should I buy the same shit every year, MP got worse, scripts everywhere, they should take like 3 years off and create something really new.

You're the first person who actually gets CoD series as in - yes, Modern Warfare 2 was a fun pub game, and CoD1 and CoD2 were very competitive and had great competitive communities. Very few people have that experience, and it looks like you have. Your view is on point about CoD series in any video you mention it. I started watching a play through of this game the other day and I wondered if I was the only person on the planet that thought this game was shit. Shoot loads of bad guys, watch a cut scene, shoot loads more bad guys, watch another cut scene, shoot more bad guys, stab yourself in the arm to relieve the boredom.

Could you review Spec Ops: The Line? The game was released in 2012, but it's one of the few modern shooter games that's actually good. The story is really good. In my opinion, Spec Ops: The Line is a 9.5/10 game, the only bad thing is that the developers were forced to add the multiplayer mode to the game, a bad one btw. But I think you will love the game if you skip the multiplayer.

Spec Ops is a mediocre game....but it´s a awesome experience from start to finish.

The part about "leaving the mission area" was brilliant... so fucking true. How many games do we get now that basically just funnel you through the experience.. what a joke. I will say it can be fun to have a nice entertaining experience like "Uncharted," or some of these other linear experiences with great graphics, but it doesn't compare to really being in a living, breathing world where you can make your own decisions... kind of like real frakking life...
