Reminds me of my first Bike Packing....It got dark, it rained, we were miserable, headed back down the hill, a huge tree for shelter, not good enough, headed into a property, no one home so made camp in there stables, almost asleep and Rats invaded our camp, so back on the bikes, 30km in rain to get home at 1am in the morning GRRRR
I bought a Topeak Backloader 10L in a sale and it's one of the best pieces of kit I've ever owned. I use it all the time. Highly recommended. I wouldn't go for the 15L for the reason Blake mentions - it would fish tail around. But the bag is so solid and well thought out that 10L is no problem.
Cracking video Blake Your solo adventures are so cool. That weather on that day was grim wasn't it I too was out on an epic ride that day 😁🤘 Great stuff #GMBN
Woo amazing video. Real mtbing. The adventure. There is no better feeling than looking out of a warm tent cooking shit after some hard graft. The harder the graft the better the experience of tent or shelter. Boom living life and seeing shit 🎉
Even with the fantastic informative video library on offer - These have to be my favourite GMBN videos! Blake is just a cheery madman on a bike packing trip. Great attitudes on display and always a good watch!😊
Thank you, Blake, for getting all muddy and cold so that we may have something interesting and entertaining to watch on a Saturday afternoon. I hope you took the fossils back home to show them to little man Charlie and to Jen. 🙂
Thanks for this and other videos like it. They're really inspiring. This one showed that a lot of expense/kit isn't necessary, just knowing how to "pack" one's bike. Please may I ask: could the Elan Valley video be reposted? (I only got half way through it... 😭)
as a kiddo we went to a pebble beach in France and i also found a few fossils this way. that first one you got is quite nice! the bikepacking on a budget is a bit missleading though right, the 50$ is only for a few bags and straps.... all the rest not included
Well done for sticking to the plan that must have seemed a good idea a month ago. How much was the light packing sleeping bag and hammock? A bit more than 50 I guess?
Sleeping in a barn? Hammocks need something to be attached to. Setting up in pouring rain is a pain. Stopping for tea and a bite to eat is non existent on many a trip, unless you carry everything yourself. However riding and walking through miserable conditions was well done. Overall the video was enjoyable. :)
"Bike packing, it doesn't have to be expensive" he says whilst riding a 2k bike and probably about £200+ worth of kit 😂 seriously though thoroughly enjoyed the video, loved the editing and the commitment to getting those shots😅 stupendous effort!
This is how I imagine the childhood of bikepacking... Just strap on some drybags instead of those bulky panniers :-D Great filming work. being your own cameraman isn't always easy...
Must be nice to live in a country with a network of trails across private land based on respect and trust. In the US the owners just shoot at you. And that's just for coming to ask, forget actually stepping on the property
The craziest parts about these videos to me, (as an American) is how you just casually go through gates. I guess public gates are a thing in the UK? Here, if you see a gate, you don't go through it or risk being shot and/or arrested for trespassing.
If you were bike packing in the US in 'the country' and you came along a cattle gate off the path (even if it has no signs) and you decide to go through it? Well, that's how people disappear, you will become bikenapped.
There are a lot of gates out West here in Idaho on BLM land. Usually they just ask that you close them back again. BUT, if I see one that's says "No Trespassing", I take it seriously.
Gotta prep the years-old fatbike loaned to me to a volcano-side bikepacking trip, then. 😁 Though, I hope the heat index won't kill me -- I believe that's what nearly took Conor and Marcel's vibe out, when hitting some nasty climbs in February. What were the bags' content aside from the sleeping bag, Blake our lad? 😄 Asking for a little friend, who happened to watch along with me.
Can we get a price check on everything? The bike, The pants, the clothes the jacket, Shoes, stuff in the bags, helmet, Garmin... And anything else that you might have had on you. minus all the camera stuff cause thats not something a normal person would bring.
9:00 attributing that to the Saxons is a blatant attempt to erase the Briton history. There were peoples in the Isles BEFORE the Saxons arrived. There was a people BEFORE 1066 that had a history there.
A little disappointed. Had to sit through 10+ mins of complaining about the weather and cheating the experience by sleeping in a barn just to get to the subject of the channel and video: mtbs amd camping. I guess I was expecting more helpful info and a little less entertainment. Decent video though if you skip the first half.
Blake’s solo adventure films never disappoint- another cracking film Blake 👍👍👍
Blake does solo adventure best! 🔥
You have to applaud the solo filming.
That isn't easy to get some of those shots.
Well done blake 🎉
These Blake's bike packing videos are absolutely fabulous!
Agreed! Thanks so much for the support!

Top end hardtail ....all the best gear from Channel partners......but will someone please give this legend some waterproof socks
Those take up most of the 50 budget though. I’ve already spent all my money on the gear 😂 (waterproof socks are super handy though)
@@evanforst7272 freaking love my Polaris waterproof socks
Love your bike packing adventures. Keep 'em coming 🤘🏻
We will! More to come!
What an epic wet, rainy, muddy ride! 😎🚴 keep it up!
The commitment, not only going bike packing in that weather but the filming, going back to the camera all the time must have sucked! ❤
That is one of the most unusual bikepacking videos I’ve saw 😁 Would be cool to see more of Blake’s bikepacking videos!
Yes mate awesome video thanks for sharing

Yeah, apart from the weather Blake had a sick time! 😂🔥
Great shots, Blake. More inspiring than the weather. Thanks!

Always love these bike packing adventures
I do love B-Lakes solo stuff. Impressive how much back and forth is needed to film himself 👍🏼
Exactly! When he got up that horrible muddy trench of a hill it was for the second time!
Don’t forget the $3000 Hardtail
Hey you got to have a bike for bikepacking use what you have
Iv been bike packing on a £30 bike!
You took the words right out of my mouth. Happy trails. Aloha
And don’t forget the Garmin. 😊
@@HolisticHealthEducation I just use my phone and a power bank. If you want to know your power output you can use a free app like cadence still

Love theses bike packing videos. All ways put a smile on my face watching.
Fair play to Blake he makes a great video love watching your adventures
The right man for the job! 💪 Yess Blake!

Love the adventure specials!! Nicely done

Love the Blake bike packing videos. Always gets my immediate click.
Haha brining the nice park tool hammer too.
Demonstrates one more the sheer versatility of his trail hardtail.
I lreally like the bike packing videos! I have to say: this yellow bike is gorgeous!
I really appreciated the moment at 13:57 alot. 👍
I would camp in that. But riding is so much fun is mud.
Riding the North downs way this June. Canna wait
Awesome video Blake, enjoyed it!🤟
Here (Winnipeg) gardening centres sell rolls of inch-wide velcro for far less than your straps. Might be a good option.
Can't beat a good adventure.Blake should put a book together. Blake's bike packing. A simple tittle
Loved the video!

Love to watch these kind of videos from home with cup of good coffee 😁☕
Great video Blake.Look's like you had a lot of fun Dude!!
Love all your content 🤙🏽
This is great love the vid
Blake, you should try participating in some offroad bikepacking race. I think you will like it.
So weird seeing the place you grew up being adventured by serious riders. Hope you did the Bridport-Powerstock line.
Definitely given me some inspiration.

One person take shot hard job 🤞👏
Blustery Gail… one of me favourite adult film stars
Blake why didn't you have gloves on that would be the first thing I'd pack ride in all weather's like that dho?

Super entertaining video !
Love this animal 😂 More please!
miss seeing these videos of blake! makes me miss adventure racing ultraas more haha
Thanks for the video!! Don't feel so bad pushing up now :).; Home of Cider is Devon tho!!! ;)
Hi Blake! Will you take part in Scottish HIghlands Trail 550 bikepacking race that starts today (27 May 2023)?
Was looking forward to seeing how its done out in the open. The barn thing was a bit of a kop out. Still enjoyable watch though
You guys need a video for bike packing on a budget, INCLUDING THE BIKE.
Never seem to bump into you when you're down at Dorset Nectar... one day maybe...

There's a lot of public footpaths and bridleways. They can at times go through farm yards or through peoples gardens even.
Nice one!
Great video 😃 great location 😃 with a great route 😃
Hi Blake! What was the make and model of the handlebar bag you used in the Wales River Usk video with Jack Thurston - it looked a good one?
Awesome!!!
Is the same chalk guy that Conor stop at in one the the GCN videos a couple of years ago? Or was that a different chalk guy with his togger out?
Same chalk guy as "In Pursuit of Spring" with Manon, Simon, Hank.
I wonder what crank length is Blake running onto. 170mm?
Did the also sell Dickens Cider?
I don't know how you can ride in all that mud clad I live in Western Australia ✌️
Gotta have the right frame clearance, us brits are mucky pups

you need to do a challenge where you have a total of 500 bucks for bike and gear.
What if I don't have any dollar$? Only £'s?
Impressive clean looking fossil! Didn't even go far down the beach
Dorset is a goldmine for fossils!
@@gmbn try going anywhere near Lyme with a wife who is a geologist and massive dinosaur nerd 😂
Does anyone else think Blake gives the same vibes as Tom Syndicate?
Old tubes for bungies!!
Wish I could find that Garmin for $50
You carried all that stuff but we didn't see u use it should have stayed in a B and B 😂😂
Blake channeling his inner Colin furze here 😅
The only drawback of this video is the lack of Blake on a fatbike.
If he was grinning now, imagine the grin on his face with that red dude of his.
um, Blake, Sandwich is NOT in Dorset.
I like it, he can smell the ocean
I though it was called a Channel 😅
Can we get a price check on everything? The bike, The pants, the clothes the jacket, Shoes, stuff in the bags, helmet, Garmin... And anything else that you might have had on you. minus all the camera stuff cause thats not something a normal person would bring.

Mudguards, how about proper mudguards? Great trip anyways👍🏻
I think the cost is very relative to where you live. I can pretty much go on one for just $5. It's just a 1-day trip but you get the gist.
thats just a bike ride bro
I’ve walked round there😂
Sorry, Herefordshire is the home of Cider. :)
if it has a cathedral it is not a town. it is a city.
bro he couldnt even set up a fkin hammock in a field of treees...fire this guy hire me lmk
So let's get the fossils identified and see if he's discovered something new that can be named after him.
the way i look up this man is he is the alpha male in Mountain biking but dont get me wrong guys its my own opinion only .
Lol, pinkbike already did this video a year ago
Blake's bikepacking adventures are always epic👌⛰️
If anything it put me off...lol....looked awful😂
I thought It was a joke when he said his going to look for a fossil
#ASKGMBNTECH
Where is Doddy? Is he still with GMBN?
Can you add the Strava link?
They use komoot afaik
Imagine trying to convince anyone that a certain town has "good fish n' chips" Like they do it unique and better than everyone else.
You try too hard to be funny but it doesn't come off. I have never known anyone so up thenselves
Maybe he should be miserable and negative like yourself instead. That would make better viewing for you ? 😅
