A little over $64k a real bargain for a 2.4L 4-cylinder Turbo Land Cruiser. My grandfather spinning in his grave.
number of cylinders has nothing to do with price
That is sad he died in the western theatre of WW2, but thank you for service.
@@mikejones762it does lol
Four cylinders are cheaper to make than sticking a turbo on 4 cylinder
To be fair 64,000 now days is nothing. Average USA home is 400,000 now it used to be 200,000
Its body on frame suv it’s not a eco box 2 cv !
@@troydore559 My grandfather had the previous gen Land Cruiser 2015 model 5.7L V8. He passed away two week after his covid jab in 2021. He passed away in his Land Cruiser from a heart failure.
This front end looks much better than the retro round lights to me. The 2.4 turbo is a big no for me though.
Comes standard with a two-year wait and a $15k markup!
Solid review. The Premium Pkg adds a number of options to consider: Sunroof, full leather, heads-up display, wireless charging, ice box/cool box under center armrest, a couple of safety additions, and a few other options. Well equipped, you will be around the $72k-$76k for the Landcruiser Premium Pkg.
Great review, thanks for your vlogs.
Saw one yesterday at the bank. Looked sharper in person than I expected.
Land Cruiser has never been a budget vehicle, don’t see what the complaints are about. Probably marks the upper limit of how the 4Runner gets priced
Right, previous gen was 80+
I bet 4Runner goes over 70k
Absolutely. Landcruiser has always been and always will be a very premium brand. It has always been an expensive SUV and it still is. However, it is very well built, somewhat exclusive, and tends to hold its value extremely well. It caters to a very specific demographic.
The point isn't here; the point is that this is a renamed Land Cruiser Prado, which is a tier less than a Land Cruiser but still sells for an expensive price. Cars in Saudi Arabia are more expensive than in the US, but the Land Cruiser Prado is cheaper here than in the US, and it has all of its features.
They really should offer this with round headlights. The classic look is great.
they do have the round headlights but on different trim.
@@Baebon6259 I know. It's odd that they don't have it on this trim. To me, that would be the one to go with.
excellent video - thank you for taking the time to make the video
Bargain? Lol
That 4 cylinder is a deal breaker for me
same
Ditto. Pretty sure Toyota were afraid that a V6 on an LC would tank the Year 1 sales of the GX.
1958 edition has a read locking differential. It doesn’t have the sway bar disconnect
$64k give me a break, purchase a low mileage previous generation for a few thousand less, which will last a lot longer.
$64K... for a 4 banger Toyota. Good luck I guess.
Good looking vehicle Ben, I have yet to see one here in the Denver metro area. 😂
agree, that's the version i'd get. Full size infotainment is nice, nicer seats/interior materials. I'm sure the 1st edition gives you more that the exterior add ons, but i can't remember what it is. maybe 2 tone paints? Not for $10K more though. The gray/black I've seen, isn't impressive.
All LC and FE Land Cruisers are stuck in a big QC hold. Crickets from the distributors. Might see mine mid July or later. Bummer.
The lack of 3 row is because of the hybrid version. With that battery bump, the chairs doesn't fit. In Europe we don't get the hybrid yet, but can choose a third row. The cost cupholder and USB outlet is probably cost saving at the factory.
Great review. I own a 200 like you and was on teh fence about this
hope it's better than old one you had?
Saw this in person and it looks smaller than I remember a land cruiser to be.
I agree this is the trim model to get, and it has a lower depreciation value over, for instance the Toyota Sequoia, which is the other one that I was looking at
I think this is the trim for me. Can't wait.
I looked on the Toyota website before watching this vid & I totally agree this is the one to get & just option up to leather seats brah
Curious what does and doesn’t light up at night. In my experience this is where Toyota scrimps…. At night, none of the buttons are illuminated and the cabin looks outdated in comparison to cars with more LED lighting and backlit or lit controls.
We are a 20 plus year Toyota family. Just bought a new Suburu. Toyota should fire everyone involved in inventory management. Their prices are just insane.
Got a rusty 1999 Land Cruiser for 6k only a few weeks before Toyota announced discontinuation. It was worth 13 grand after that. Never getting rid of it either way.
We were with Toyota for around 10 years, was considering a new Taco until I found out manufacturing is in Mexico which may explain the build quality issues, went with a Subaru OBW.
Which package gets the cool box?
The 1958 does have a rear locker Ben !
All LC250s come with center and rear lockers. The 1958 doesn't get the stabilizer bar disconnect and some of the drive modes. I'd want the 1958 with an "offroad" package that gives you the stabilizer disconnect and the other offroad tech and 360 camera in the top trims. I prefer the round headlights and cloth interior. It's weird how toyota padded the dash and doors in the upper trims but the 1958 is hard plastic. They should've gave the 1958 a rubber floor to carry the durability theme I'd they hardened the interior touch points.
Stab disconnect would probably have pushed it over 60k, and the 1958 buyer like myself is gonna do their own upgrades to it anyway. The camera is a distraction, how often can you take your eyes off the terrain anyway?
I agree, I can understand and see the value in cutting back on some creature comforts for a "base model" (1958 edition), but at least give a buyer the option to add the "off-road" features such as front facing camera and stabilizer disconnect - It seems to me like Toyota unfairly baits you into paying for the higher priced trim with features many would just assume do without.
I get a full restomod LC before I drop 64k on this.
When TFL tested it off road (it did well), the safety nannies beeped/flashed non stop. That would be crazy annoying.
They can be turned off. I’m not sure why they didn’t bother turning them off before filming
I kinda like it, but I would still get a pickup. Glad Toyota made the glass roof optional. Pound for pound, trucks are a good value. SUVs do not typically hold value as well as a truck.
$64k.... hilarious.
What version is this?
This is actually a land cruiser Prado and the land cruiser 300 series had a complete redesign they did not launch in the USA, but in middle east they did launch it, but it's expensive. toyota, they make cars with so many features missing, and they want a chunk of big money
No one cares, we live in the US
I don't understand why they now have a bunch of different SUVs all with similar features and a similar size inside and out
I hate full digital gage cluster, at least make the speedometer real 😭😭😭
Mid tier is the trim to go with IMO.
If they offered fhe turbo 6 I would definitely like it a lot more... Im not at all a fan if putting turbo 4bangers on these big heavy trucks. The turbo 6s hold up well, (the f150 ecoboost has been extremely reliable with many engines making it past 250,000 miles trouble free) but the 4 cylinders just dont seem to hold up.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Hybrid Base Underground Grey 4X4!
Not true, the 1958 has the rear locker and i prefer the cloth interior of the vinyl (softtech)
With all the quality issues Toyota is currently experiencing I would wait a year or two for them to work out the issues. The other red flag is the fact that Toyota moved manufacturing to Mexico.
The Landcruiser is built entirely in Japan.
Naturally aspirated V6 should never depart from SUVs, all this technology saving fuel, these hybrids are pour quality built with gas mileage not that impressive, these SUVs are 50 grand and over, will have to pass, I’m not impressed over interior quality plastic shared Camry shared switches, plastic leather like seats I call it pleather.
Can't help but wonder why they didn't put an aspirated v6 in the new and Cruiser. Gas mileage would've probably been about the same.
So this ruck is not designed for this type camp use where you leave the engine running idle for a few hours - I don't think any vehicle can handle this situation. On the other hand, if drive is mostly i the city & in particularly in stop-and-go parking lot situation, the hybrid engine of this car may shine & getting closer to Toyota's 23MPG claim.
The hair is sick!
There's a reason why we don't see a lot of these on the road.
the resale value for this is crazy, car dealerships scalping hard
Where can you find the resale value? Was thinking of getting this bc of 6k lb tax benefit
@@DanielHernandez-dp7hr just in general look around and canvas they go for atleast 100k unless u find retail if its available
I appreciate how much you struggled with the wind😅😅😅 big thumbs up for you man
Bargain….I wouldn’t go that far….
You should get one
Complexity is a dead end. Toyota needs to get their operation in order. Option the prior 6 cyl at same price and see what gets selected. Lastly, why can't Toyo (& Lexus) offer/include a front locker? - just pretend it's 1992. TFS
write your senator. you think toyota wants to turbo their cars? They have to comply with federal emisions somehow, someway.
Hybrid motor? No thanks.
65K? A definite NO.
Since its bargain, I buy 2 then.
Seriously, amazing vehicle, but my money on the 1958
Toyota land cruiser cool love it
Ben, you look like you’re about to preach the Sermon on the Mount.
LOL
Nice!
Not convinced that the power train is reliable.
You can grab these for 55k
Jesus reviewed the Landcruiser !! Amen 😅
I agreed
Bargain he says….
Bargain you said? Bruh! 😅
Are you related to high pitch mike
This will have the same engine problems as the tundra. Buyer beware I would give it a few years. Or buy a 200 series. It’s crazy to buy a first year, especially with all of Toyota‘s problems lately.
64k USD is a bargain now? I guess I am poor then
Crazy market
Poeple are so disappointed with the 4cyl like come on. Modern Engineers for sure found a fault in those so they re-engineered these things to make it more reliable compared to your european and korean cars :D
Bargain? Stop it. Wear a monocle and top hat the next time you say that.
face is way too close to the lens. zoom out in selfie mode.
$64k for a 4 cylinder. GTFOH. No thanks
Ben if Toyota is not paying you to say good things about the landcruiser say it costs too much
If they are paying you then say the landcruiser is good value then say it is a bargain
It’s a good value considering the competition
It takes Premium Gas.😢.
You could get two really nice used 4Runners for that price.
You could get two really nice used 4Runners for the price of a new 4Runner too.
@@CACressida Or you could get three honda civics! What a fun pointless game this is
@jeffm5099 I know, right? People think used cars fall out of the sky. Somebody has to buy them new in order for them to be used and cheap in the second hand market.
And both combined don't hold a candle to this car
@@CACressidanew 4Runner is 51,000 for a trd offroad premium
Would never buy a 5000lb SUV with a 4 cylinder engine!
I'm shocked by all the naive comments; e.g. "won't hold up because it has an overly stressed tiny turbo 4 cylinder motor." Indicates they are unaware durable 4 cylinders successfully powered some of Toyotas heaviest vehicles over the years; e.g. 4WD pickups and motorhomes in the 1970's. 4Runners, T100 pickups and Previa Vans in the 1980's and 1990's. Tacomas, Passenger Vans and Prado SUV's in the 2000's & 2010's.
I'll take the lexus GX550 Overtrail over this one all day. This LC with the luxury package is almost the same price as the GX
It's not the same as the First Edition, educate yourself.
Oxymoron title.
A 265/70r18 is essentially a 33 inch tire, 32.5 which would round up
Windy? lol
Very
p.s. $65K... before mark up. You could most probably get a new Grenadier for less.
Buy vintage ones 😂😂
Lego car
Agree with you my man and I'm sorry..have lefties watching this channel..anyone that avoided the stab is much better off..God bless you and your grandfather...
Toyota Recalls Land Cruiser LC300 SUV
Overpriced. What a shame
Gotta love the poors crying and insulting each other lol
Rad
Ya a fool with to much money nothing else. Unless it's turn key it's garbage. Look into a 79 series and learn something. Come on Man
🎉👍👍👍💖👍👍👍🎉
Way too much weight for a 4 cylinder to tug around. That’s without a trailer. Hard pass
buddy its a hybrid lol it makes more hp and torque than the v6 on old 4runner/taco
Way over priced
More over priced junk
stop it! 7K-10K is a lot of money and it translates to monthly payments..if you want all the bells and whistles that you wont really use fine but i would rather spend the 10-14k eventual diff on treasury bills
Will be a failure, like every time they put a tiny turbo in a vehicle. Won’t hold up. Be expensive to fix. Nope I won’t buy, especially now. Toyota has way too many failures. Getting as bad as GM Ford. Ram.
Ignorance
stay away 🎉om snake 🐍 oil salesman 😂😂
Toyota is dropping the ball really hard … 50k plus for a four cylinder?
This engine won’t last like the old V6
You don’t know that. Toyota hybrid tech has been extremely reliable for decades.
@@christopherkozal7987lol look at the tundra
@@christopherkozal7987 I guess you aren't aware of tacoma recalls recently lol Toyota is not god, it has to over come the law of physics. Putting more strain on the engine to get efficiency but these won't last as long as old once. Same way, with all the money and expertise Apple has they can never put DSLR lens quality on iPhone. Its just physically not possible without tradeoffs.
@@Rahmonic there is no recall for tacoma dummy lol you mean tundra?? thats a different engine aka a v6
…. You lost me at 4 cylinders 😒
Gimme a v8 for that price.
not a bargain more like a rip-off. Unsuscribed for the misleading title
