How To Break The Trauma Bond To A Narcissist And Go Free

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 11 พ.ค. 2021
  • We all want to be free and feel free to be ourselves and happily go about our lives.
But those of us who are in a narcissistic relationship are stuck - literally trauma bonded to this person.
And on the receiving end of endless mistreatment.
This makes you feel aggrieved and unresolved, devastated, damaged, powerless, helpless, and of course even defective after narcissistic abuse.
All because the bond has not been severed.
In this latest Thriver TV episode I'll tell you the truth about the trauma bond that's been keeping you hooked up in the abuse.
I will also explain how the old way of healing is not serving you and how you can turn this around (quicker than you imagined) just like so many people, myself included, have. 💜

The end of the illusion is the beginning of grief. Sometimes it's easier to satiate ourselves with the comfort of the illusion rather than the deep pain of fully understanding who this person really is.
Even though you know the way they treat you is more about the relationship with themselves than it is with you, it still hurts that you wanted love so badly you made yourself blind to it.

So painful to realize the amazing friendship with my sister (by phone) completely dissolved when we visited in person, where I felt spent, anxious, confused and exhausted after a few days. Really good at mirroring, making me feel understood and loved. Then making rude negative comments in my hearing about things she'd pretended to be supportive of. I still feel guilty for not saving her, because she was so horrendously abused (more than me, I was the pretty protected one, so I feel even worse). Thank goodness for Melanie - when you are in touch with source, the answers come, and the confusion leaves.

Hi Annie, I just wanted to tell you I'm saying a prayer for you. I left my marriage of 5 1/2 years...he is a narcissist and in the last year of our marriage I was sick nearly every single month. I encourage people to go No-Contact and leave if they can. May God help you heal and rescue you.

In a similar boat.. Lost my job because the abuse from narc gf was so bad I couldnt deal with the stress of work too and was so sick all the time , thought leaving job would make it easier to deal with my health issues. Thinking of going to a shelter but dont want to leave my child with narc.. :\

You're so good! I use the technique in Chapter 7 of your book w my coaching clients and on myself. I was using a technique where people go inside the trauma. Your technique is much faster. Although going inside works well when people aren't willing to let it go.
I love your book and these videos and am so grateful I found you.
I have never been narcissist abused but went for emotionally unavailable men. Your techniques work for any wound including unavailable men.

    Wow this is good!
I keep on saying I’ve been hit by a truck!
My 2nd husband who is really connected to my kids just walked out.
I feel such grief n loss but yet peace- he had a really different parenting style-anytime I tried to nurture - it wasn’t welcomed -so I’m a bit confused since I was gaslit the most in regards to my parenting. He played with the kids.
And they loved that- but I wasn’t welcome to parent according to my values.
Since he left- I’ve been really trying to go inward- sometimes it’s hard to find my inner child…I am a Narper. But I’m not as grieved -maybe a bit numb- now that he’s away… is this normal?
