I just took my first trip to San Diego last week. I was solo, and stayed in Little Italy. I loved it! I walked about 12 miles a day, ate a lot of great food, did the zoo, and a baseball game. I just didn't get to do my harbor cruise, so I need to go back. My friend has been wanting to golf Torrey Pines, for years, so I guess we need to plan that next!
12 miles a day.. impressive!
I am staying here right now, so many homeless people I am shocked, streets smell like urine, it definitely became worse since 2018
@@hardshell9236Covid caused downtown to become a 3rd world country
Nice, also a wonderful place there is the hotel del its a amazingbeach resort (though its very expensive), it has a beautiful beach that is perfect for a beach day or for surfing.
This may sound odd to say but you speak very well! No stuttering, pauses, and continuous facts being said about SD! 🙌💯
Thanks falcon!
Love these videos! San Diego is one of the best places to live in!!!
Thanks Tim!
Mission Beach is also my favorite. I always recommend it! 😄
We just love San Diego! We are from Sweden! We was there 2018 & 2019

Right on. Thanks Troy!
I love beer 🍺 and beaches and bars and clubs
I swear I have tried to watch so many TH-cam videos about what to do in San Diego and this has been the only helpful and watchable one. So well produced, edited, concise. Appreciate this type of content, so glad to find my new favorite travel TH-camr :)
Awww. Thanks Natalie!
Chris, What I appreciate of your videos are how you quickly get me oriented geographically, with some background sprinkled in for what makes it special (w/o going long and deep into history and such), and shared your personal recommendations.
Thanks gal! I appreciate the kind words!
You do such a thorough job. Everytime I think you missed something you cover it later! 👍
Right on Darryl!

Hah! Thanks CottageFullOfLove!
We’re just back from our California road trip & San Diego was our last stop before flying back to the uk. We loved it, especially my husband who loves Top Gun. His favourite day was visiting the USS Midway museum & then going to the Top Gun Bar (Kansas City BBQ)
We also went to Little Italy, Gaslamp & Balboa Park which has some beautiful buildings. We definitely want to return as 3 nights definitely wasn’t long enough!
You are also spot on about it being grey May as it was cloudy for the whole time we were there. Will definitely try & return in September. Thanks for the tip! ☺️
Awesome BevvyLoo!
SO HELPFUL thank you so much!
San Diego is such a fun city! I went last year for the very first time, and I loved it very much! Watching this brought back some great memories from last year. I'll need to go back again someday!
Sorry we didn't get a chance to catch up on that trip!
@@YellowProductions No worries! I can see me coming back soon. I'll let you know when I do!
Hi Chris! This is my nth time taking your recommendations in different places, and this time in San Diego which we’ll be visiting in Thanksgiving. Please don’t stop making videos giving us cheap yet memorable activities in great places. Thank you so much!
Awesome Maria! I hope you enjoy San Diego!
Would love to visit San Diego some day! Thanks for your recent stuff on San Francisco Chris, we visited a couple of weeks back and you VLOGs were invaluable for us.
Thanks Mark!
We visited San Diego after one of your videos! Wonderful! We will always be grateful to you.

I was stationed in the San Diego area during the 1990's and enjoyed my stay there.
Looking to visit here in 2025....looks amazing!! Great video!
Hi Chris. Thanks for the great video. San Diego is a great place to visit with many attractions and activities for all types of people to enjoy. Take care.
Thanks James!
Do you have any videos specifically about Coronado? Trying to decide if I want to stay there or not the next time I go to San Diego.
youre one of a kind mr.yellow. love your videos!
Thanks Las Vegas Smoke!
Thanks so much for covering San Diego. I lived there over 30 yrs go and have so many fond memories. I loved going to Old town and having frozen Margaritas and Mexican food. I also loved hanging out at mission Beach, and Belmont park was fun, especially that old Rollercoaster. It was not as built up. I like the La Jolla beaches ,and walking around town. They have a good theater there. I like Coranado especially walking around that old Hotel. You done some interesting, fun, and informative videos on SA Diego. I still have one good friend there, he lives in La mesa. I must visit soon.
Thanks Alex! San Diego is ready to welcome you back!
Great content
Thank you for the video, I think you convinced me to come
Glad to hear that!
GREAT VIDEO THANKS
Thanks Linda!

My pleasure!
Thanks so much for this video. We are from Los Angeles and we always love to drive in San Diego. We always go to La Jolla Shores. Will definitely check Mission Beach. We haven’t been there. 😊
Thanks Pinoy Family!
Thanks!
Thanks for your support Lazer!
Chris I have watched a ton of your videos but never about your home town. You can really see your love for this city . I think I'll watch them all. :)
Right on Jennifuzz 😀
Great Video I live in San Diego county in the city of Chula Vista Ca
Thanks RamenGoated!
Nice video.
Just left San Diego. When I return ▪︎ I'm putting some of you recommendations on my list 🎉
Awesome!
Watching this is torture right now because I am in the UK and it's been one of the wettest and miserable 'summers' ever. Thanks to your video I am planning to visit San Diego in a few months, got to get of the overcrowded grey island that is Great Britain.
I hope you enjoy San Diego when you get to visit!
@@YellowProductions Thank you, I'm sure it can't be as bad as the UK right now ;0)
Thanks Chris, always helpful, I’m actually visiting San Diego this weekend ! And yes my amtrak to LA got cancelled :/
Enjoy San Diego! Bummer on the Amtrak!
Hello Hello
Hope your havin a Great Day !
Definitely Martin!
Just completed a solo trip to San Diego, took a train to LA for the day very hot and allot of fun. Didn’t get to do everything in the city, but got allot especially mission beach and downtown
Awesome James!
Three comments .
Great Italian food- not necessarily in little Italy.
The trolley is great and you should take it to see the river.
Don’t go during comic con unless you’re going to comic con. It’s the largest event of the year and prices go up triple.
Hi Chris, great video about San Diego - I would love to visit, but when I visit CA to see family it's always about LA. Just a correction (again with the pandemic I'm sure stats are a little distorted) but it is London Gatwick that is the busiest single runway airport in the world.
Thanks RT. London Gatwick has 2 runways. Though only 1 can be used at a time. Or so says Wikipedia 😀
I went to USD Law. My favorite thing to do is a hike at Torrey Pines and lunch in La Jolla or Del Mar.
Nice!
Good video Chris but we’re confused, do you want us to drive to Vegas if we want to eat at Shake Shack or IN-N-OUT?
Hahaha, for moment there, we thought there was an Aria hotel in San Diego.
It's what I had b-roll from 😉
Spaghetti with mizithra and and browned butter 🤤
Nom nom nom
❤❤
Pacific Beach...Garnet ave....can't go wrong
Hi Chris, do you recommend taking the greyhound bus from Long Beach to SD and what do you think of the 4 points by Sheraton in Little Italy is it a decent hotel we are trying to go to a budget hotel without a rental car for the 2 days we are going to be there in early December (thanks for the video)
Greyhound isn't the best. But it's probably the cheapest way to get from Long Beach to SD. And I think Little Italy is a good central neighborhood to stay in without a car
Nice thumbnail! Video too.
Double thanks Jeff!
I am here right now in August, it’s gloomy in the mornings and water is ice cold🥶
August gloom is real too! 😀
Something great to do while in San Diego is to visit Tijuana! It's so close to the border to spend an afternoon eating great food. If you're feeling ambitious you can even get world class Chinese food at Hong Kong 😃
Yeah and wait 5 hours in the line.
Hey now!!! This is a family friendly channel. I don't think Yellow will be reviewing the HK anytime soon. lol
Going this weekend where is the best place for discount on Lego land and Padre tickets
Whats the average cost of living? Thinking of moving there from Northern California mainly due to the warm weather and atmosphere!
Hello Chris. I am coming to LA area from Australia and my son from Vancouver. He will be working first week so we want a really nice environment where it will be nice to stay and work in the room or hotel. You mentioned a resort in San Diego? Can you tell me pls what's the name? Very high prices? The Trump hotel in Las Vegas is so nice and much cheaper. Any really nice place under $A 400 a night?
Hi Rutiya -- a great resort hotel in San Diego is the Hotel Del Coronado. Right on the beach. I think it would be a great work cation spot.
Fidel’s Solana Beach. You’re welcome.
I love LJ blacks beach.
3:55 I always thought it was funny that the Mexican Consulate is located on India Street in heart of Little Italy. You see flag after flag of green, white and red then all of the sudden its the same flag only with an eagle/snake in the center.
Totally!
I'm about planing a trip to SD in early September. Would you recommend an Uber from LAX? Greetings from Germany
Hi Kathi -- personally I'd rent a car from LAX and drive to San Diego. Might be hard to get an Uber to take you that far as it's a 2-4 hour drive depending upon traffic
Hello...what is comfortable salary to live in San Diego??
Dat thumbnail tho 😂😂😂
doest the county include the city in the 3 millon or is it over 4 millon all together
County includes the city... so 3 million total
you cannot say you're a foodie and then reccomend The Old Spaghetti Factory
I sure can. I have a 4 year old daughter... it's perfect for her where the high end sushi restaurant isn't
The water is warm? The water is cold in SD.
And a "dry climate" is relative. Maybe it's dry compared to Florida, but it's humid compared to the Rocky Mtn States (unless you're in the eastern part of SD county.)
Also, from Top Gun, that was the house that Charlie lived in, not Maverick.
Skip the greasy "_bertos" restaurants if you're just visiting. Some of them are decent but the sit down restaurants offer the best Mexican food in the U.S.
Pacific Beach?
I was born in San Diego and I’m 10!
6:52…Irony rears it’s head! I’m guessing you recorded this right before that awful landslide completely shut everything train-related down for MONTHS! (Not actually sure if it’s even reopened, yet, to be honest…)
It reopened. And then closed again after another land slide. Doh!
@sanspotter do you abide this guide?🤔
💕🌈*🥰🫶*🌈💕
like
Like the $1 billion USD U.S Navy USS Bonhommie Richard amphibious landing ship which was totally destroyed by fire while moored at a dock at San Diego Naval Base, burned for 5 days.
Interesting thumbnail.
I'm jealous, especially about the food. Where I live the restaurant scene is abysmal. I recently was in a supposedly Mexican restaurant and the food was just awful. The tacos were basically only filled with red cabbage and traces of minced meat and the chili was clearly mass produced garbage straight out of the can and barely heated up.
Well, at least I saw a flamboyant openly gay person (the waiter) for the first time in my 45 years of living in Germany. So I can cross that off the list of things to see, hehe.
Just mentioning that because Germany has this reputation as this weird, over-sexualized, perverted place full of sexual deviants, but that stuff is basically limited to a hand full of neighborhoods in 3 cities (Berlin, Munich and Cologne) and the rest of the country is basically 1950s style buttoned-up picket fence "being a pariah if you don't wash your car every Saturday"-territory, where you can literally spend your whole life without ever running into a openly gay person.
It was just the only interesting thing about that restaurant, besides how insultingly awful and overpriced the food was.
Anywaaaaays.... Thanks for the interesting and comprehensive overview. I'll try to include Sand Diego if I ever manage to finally do my bucket list trip to the USA.
Thanks TrangleC.. and yeah. I haven't eaten Mexican food in Germany. But every restaurant I've seen the serves it just looks like they're making something really wrong 😉
Have you been working out? Lol
Yes. With Photoshop! 😉
Don’t forget your mask, to show your allegiance to the cult
Lol, dude said "not hot"
