I just took my first trip to San Diego last week. I was solo, and stayed in Little Italy. I loved it! I walked about 12 miles a day, ate a lot of great food, did the zoo, and a baseball game. I just didn't get to do my harbor cruise, so I need to go back. My friend has been wanting to golf Torrey Pines, for years, so I guess we need to plan that next!
Nice, also a wonderful place there is the hotel del its a amazingbeach resort (though its very expensive), it has a beautiful beach that is perfect for a beach day or for surfing.
I swear I have tried to watch so many TH-cam videos about what to do in San Diego and this has been the only helpful and watchable one. So well produced, edited, concise. Appreciate this type of content, so glad to find my new favorite travel TH-camr :)
this was a very instructive and friendly introducation to san diego. I also appreciate your friendly and likeable way of talking to your audience. Great work!
Chris, What I appreciate of your videos are how you quickly get me oriented geographically, with some background sprinkled in for what makes it special (w/o going long and deep into history and such), and shared your personal recommendations.
This was such a fun video! So much information! Also your fuzzy microphone is so cute it looks like it needs googley eyes 👀😆 Thanks for the content, Chris!
I only recently discovered your channel and I already enjoyed every single video I‘ve watched so far. It‘s better than going to the movies! In this video, it is so amazing to get detailed and very useful information from someone who lives around the area. Thank you so much! I also like that you always seem to be happy and smiling (not sure about off camera) when talking about traveling.
perfect timing! I knew for sure that I will go to the Botanical Garden, and I know of some restaurants, and was thinking about other places to go, thank you for putting up this video now!
That is sooooo amazing when you see a place in a video and you can really say: I was there. I miss San Diego so much!!! Amazing weather, amazing culture, amazing everything. Miss SD so muuuuuch. All these places are outstanding
Thanks so much for covering San Diego. I lived there over 30 yrs go and have so many fond memories. I loved going to Old town and having frozen Margaritas and Mexican food. I also loved hanging out at mission Beach, and Belmont park was fun, especially that old Rollercoaster. It was not as built up. I like the La Jolla beaches ,and walking around town. They have a good theater there. I like Coranado especially walking around that old Hotel. You done some interesting, fun, and informative videos on SA Diego. I still have one good friend there, he lives in La mesa. I must visit soon.
Would love to visit San Diego some day! Thanks for your recent stuff on San Francisco Chris, we visited a couple of weeks back and you VLOGs were invaluable for us.
Thanks so much for this video. We are from Los Angeles and we always love to drive in San Diego. We always go to La Jolla Shores. Will definitely check Mission Beach. We haven’t been there. 😊
We’re just back from our California road trip & San Diego was our last stop before flying back to the uk. We loved it, especially my husband who loves Top Gun. His favourite day was visiting the USS Midway museum & then going to the Top Gun Bar (Kansas City BBQ) We also went to Little Italy, Gaslamp & Balboa Park which has some beautiful buildings. We definitely want to return as 3 nights definitely wasn’t long enough! You are also spot on about it being grey May as it was cloudy for the whole time we were there. Will definitely try & return in September. Thanks for the tip! ☺️
Great video Chris! Me and my wife live up in Fresno and have been visiting San Diego quite frequently, all your content has been amazingly helpful and informative.
Yay, a new SD Travel Guide! My son and I ate at Mike’s Red Tacos today after the Rock n Roll 1/2, thanks to you (and others) recommendations. Combo #1 is instant favorite!
Something great to do while in San Diego is to visit Tijuana! It's so close to the border to spend an afternoon eating great food. If you're feeling ambitious you can even get world class Chinese food at Hong Kong 😃
Hi Chris! This is my nth time taking your recommendations in different places, and this time in San Diego which we’ll be visiting in Thanksgiving. Please don’t stop making videos giving us cheap yet memorable activities in great places. Thank you so much!
San Diego is such a fun city! I went last year for the very first time, and I loved it very much! Watching this brought back some great memories from last year. I'll need to go back again someday!
Watching this is torture right now because I am in the UK and it's been one of the wettest and miserable 'summers' ever. Thanks to your video I am planning to visit San Diego in a few months, got to get of the overcrowded grey island that is Great Britain.
Just completed a solo trip to San Diego, took a train to LA for the day very hot and allot of fun. Didn’t get to do everything in the city, but got allot especially mission beach and downtown
Three comments . Great Italian food- not necessarily in little Italy. The trolley is great and you should take it to see the river. Don’t go during comic con unless you’re going to comic con. It’s the largest event of the year and prices go up triple.
Hi Chris. Thanks for the great video. San Diego is a great place to visit with many attractions and activities for all types of people to enjoy. Take care.
The best taco shop in SD isn't a "berto". It's Lolitas. And the best restaurants are in Old Town. Either Old Town Mexican Cafe or Casa Guadalajara. Both have tortillas made in house now you can't beat that!
Hi Chris, great video about San Diego - I would love to visit, but when I visit CA to see family it's always about LA. Just a correction (again with the pandemic I'm sure stats are a little distorted) but it is London Gatwick that is the busiest single runway airport in the world.
Good video Chris but we’re confused, do you want us to drive to Vegas if we want to eat at Shake Shack or IN-N-OUT? Hahaha, for moment there, we thought there was an Aria hotel in San Diego.
I love those mask people in fresh air, so funny, except for Carnival you''ll never find masked people in the streets, insane and hilatious 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉😅😅😅❤❤❤
Good video, well presented yet I think you need to include a section on things to be aware of. I enjoyed many of the locations you covered, but was shocked at the number of homeless and drug addicts, nearly everywhere. Scary if walking alone, or a little lost. Cheers
3:55 I always thought it was funny that the Mexican Consulate is located on India Street in heart of Little Italy. You see flag after flag of green, white and red then all of the sudden its the same flag only with an eagle/snake in the center.
Hi Kathi -- personally I'd rent a car from LAX and drive to San Diego. Might be hard to get an Uber to take you that far as it's a 2-4 hour drive depending upon traffic
Hi Chris, do you recommend taking the greyhound bus from Long Beach to SD and what do you think of the 4 points by Sheraton in Little Italy is it a decent hotel we are trying to go to a budget hotel without a rental car for the 2 days we are going to be there in early December (thanks for the video)
Greyhound isn't the best. But it's probably the cheapest way to get from Long Beach to SD. And I think Little Italy is a good central neighborhood to stay in without a car
very interesting, I want to visit this city, sure if the ticket from Ohio is cheap. Normally I drove from my house to New York, Washington, Great smoky mountain... but I could not drive to California
It looks like the In and Out, and Shake Shack locations in the video are showing the Las Vegas locations (i.e., Aria hotel in the background), am I correct?

12 miles a day.. impressive!
I am staying here right now, so many homeless people I am shocked, streets smell like urine, it definitely became worse since 2018

@@hardshell9236I heard the same thing about the large homeless population. 😢
This may sound odd to say but you speak very well! No stuttering, pauses, and continuous facts being said about SD! 🙌💯
