Obviously, you can't possibly list every single great spot in a city but this is a pretty great list and it is perfect for someone who is coming here for a week. Depending on the season, the Del Mar races or the county fair are pretty solid too. And the San Diego Zoo Safari Park (WAP to locals) is phenomenal for animal lovers.

Thank you for spot lighting San Diego. Born and raised in SD (still live here) I think you did a pretty good job. One area I feel you left out Little Italy. Also, FYI Old Town is the birth place of California.
Im going to sd today! I get a bit nervous traveling especially on long 8hr-10 rides like this, thank you for making this video for us! We all appreciate you😊
Awesome video about the city I live in! The following are my recommendations on how to do the most in a single day when you are on foot or only have a single day with a car. I highly recommend the orange trolley tour to hit the majority of those hot spots while getting a pretty cool history lesson. Its the best way to see/walk to everything on this list with the exception of Liberty Station, Cabrillo National Park, the beaches, and North Park. The tour brings you to old town, balboa park, the gas lamp district, sea port villiage, and coronado. On a budget? You can do the gas lamp, maritime museum, midway museum, seaport villiage, and coronado (via the ferry located between midway and maritime) all in one day on foot. Take orange street on foot to take in all the shops and restaurants on your way to Hotel Del Coronado (about a mile long walk one way). Definitely party in the gas lamp at one of the two roof top bars mentioned in his video. Top of the Mariott is a younger crowd, top of the Hyatt is usually a more mature crowd. Everything down fourth and fifth street is pretty wild. The shout house has dueling pianos and is a good spot for 21+, middle aged, or older crowds. Balboa Park is an insane day trip if you want to take in the museums and zoo. Wear a comfortable closed toed shoe as you can easily trek 5+ miles depending on how much of the zoo and museums you take in. I highly recommend the Prado @ the house of hospitality in balboa park for a drink or a meal. Try to sit on the patio. Careful with ride share apps and enterance to Cabrillo National park, there is a small fee to drive into the park and nothing is a short walk. I recommend knocking Torrey Pines, La Jolla, Pacific Beach (emerald pier), sunset cliffs, Cabrillo and finish with dinner @ liberty station (in that exact order) on a day you have a rental car. If you are into photography, then you need to do more research as each of these sites are hot spots for epic shots, so you'll have to plan for best light. Liberty Station should be reserved as a food destination. If you are into craft beer there are more than three highly recommended craft brewery/restaurants in liberty station on top of additional themed restaurants like the covette diner/slatter's 5050/marketplace. North Park is a very trendy area. If you want to have a safe, awesome Saturday night; I recommend dinner and ice cream Saturday night that rolls into partying @ West Coast Tavern/Pink Bar/True North (all in North Park) with a Sunday brunch at the Mission in North Park. The bars close at 2a.m. so book something local to pull off Sunday Brunch in North Park... if you're downtown, vice in North Park, try to get to the hillcrest area for brunch ('hash house a go-go' is a favorite) Our four drinking/night life areas in San Diego are Pacific Beach (garnet street), Gas Lamp District (4th/5th Streets), North Park (University Ave) and we have a gay district called Hillcrest. Hope you enjoy San Diego as much as I do. Dont forget our two amusement parks (Sea World and Lego Land).
You being a co worker of the host who couldn't find anywhere to PARK near any of the video's mentioned great hot spots ? You did try though; I'll hand that to ya. YOU probably live in Salona Beach, right ? They have parking there and great food near the rail road tracks;Guess he couldn't find PARKING for Laguna nor anything near the Cuyamaca Mountains either ? Missed Little Italy AND Capistrano too? I'd like to know WHY my friend in Genova , ITALY would EVER want to visit San Diego; ? Have you driven a car lately? Look out for the traffic! another one he missed; Yes, Mission Bay! They used to have paddle boats there too? YOU probably live in Salona Beach, right ? For the past 10 years i have lived 4 miles from tacos el gordo, never heard of it till you and THANK YOU, i had the opportunity to go tonight and OMG!!! Thank you thank you, sooooooooo good! Best tacos ever, well worth the wait
Wow what a great and comprehensive list of things to do in San Diego. From Balboa Park to Torrey Pines, I'm impressed you also mentioned the amazing Tacos El Gordo for those mouth-watering al pastor tacos! The only place I'd add, especially for the ladies, is the centrally located Fashion Valley for some shopping or casual dinner and movie.
Hi, San Diego native here, baptized at the Mission. I am so glad no one tells you to go to my favorite beach. Thanks bloggers for keeping it on the down low. Go to PB, the zoo etc.
You did a great job! Ive lived in San Diego my whole life and you nailed it! I liked how you didn't just talk about the same ol boring stuff! Another gem you should add is ocean beach, del mar, and wind and sea beach! All great spots! And don't forget you can go from beach, to forest, to desert in less than a two hours!
This is a great video and when I lived in the Los Angeles area, I used to make frequent day trips to San Diego. But you brought up some places that I hadn't heard of before, so that's great! One place that you didn't mention that I think is nice is Mission Trails Regional Park which is a great place to hike and get away from the urban part of the city! Thank you for posting this excellent video and all of your other great videos as well! I love how you're always so enthusiastic when you do the videos as well, it really makes the videos more enjoyable to watch when it seems like you enjoy doing them!
Thank you so much for posting this video! We planned our week long trip using your guide and had the BEST time exploring San Diego. I loved La Jolla and taking amazing photos on Sunset Cliffs. My husband is a history buff and had a great time on the USS Midway and Cabrillo Natl monument. Thank you for all the great recommendations!

One area of San Diego that we often visit is Ocean Beach. This is a vintage beachtown that hasn't been gentrified - yet. Much of the main street is as was in the 1970's when I visited San Diego before I moved here. Interesting shops and good restaurants, the pier with a restaurant to relax and get a bite to eat and enjoy the wonderful view, a walk along the beach including Dog Beach and the tidepools to explore. It has it all with an eclectic vibe.
Josh ... I have lived in this area for quite a few years, and have only seen a third of what you have shown us in this vid! Great job Brotha! Keep up the good work! 👍🏼 😎
Great content! Thanks for putting this together. We're so blessed to live here. Lots to do! If you're into hidden spots, we recommend hitting up the neighborhoods. There's all sorts of cool hidden walking paths, canyons & other areas that aren't crowded!
The San Diego zoo is actually in Balboa Park. Tuesday is a free museum day (some museums are free each Tuesday) The organ at the organ pavilion is played on Sundays (I think at 2pm)
I was born & raised in SD & I was watching this video just cause I was feeling homesick, but this really showed me places I've never even heard about before!!! 🤯 Like how have I never been to the Liberty Public Market?! This is why i love the show About San Diego lol I love learning about my beautiful city!! Thanks so much for this video man I loved it!!! Def gonna use this to be a tourist when I go back 🥰
This is Lydia's hubby poaching on her account : I've lived in San Diego since 1953 and I found this video to be quite spot on. I'd would allow much more time to explore the Balboa Park / Zoo area - even to the point of checking into to one of the nearby hotels for a night or two. Also - take surfing lessons ! Surf shops all along the coast will "suit you up" if the water's cold , get you on the proper board , and provide you with a qualified instructor. They will also ensure that you don't go out into waves that are dangerous (I surfed for over 50 years - nothing but pure amazement !). A drive into the local mountains , stopping in Julian for FRESH apple pie and coffee (maybe a snowball fight !) is also a worthy day trip. Again , happy travels to you all and your loved ones - peace , and be safe.

@@lyndafayesmusic : No , again , this is Lydia's hubby , Seth. We live in Imperial Beach in the most southwesterly city in the USA. Two of the places I often visit to eat at SD are: 1. Phil's BBQ on Sports Arena Blvd 2. Vallarta Express on Balboa I'd often make those drives from OC when I get a chance to! Totally worth it!
Kark Maleta, unfortunately there are a lot downtown/ city center. California as a whole has a lot of homeless because other states send them here. It doesn’t rain much which also attracts homeless people.

Great video. I was stationed there in the late 90s. I did only 11 things to do. I was too young to appreciate some of the things. And 2 of the things weren't there like the USS Midway and the downtown ball park. However, I did attend a lot of Padres games at Qualcom.
You can't forget Fiesta Island. I used to love to go out there and sit on the beach with the speakers playing music and burning a fire. Ahhhh Memories.
Lived in SD most of my life and there's so much more the city offers than I thought. We take a lot of them for granted. There are a few other places he didn't mention like little Italy, convoy st, downtown Encinitas etc. That just shows you we live in the countrys finest city. 😎🔥

You did not talk about the fresh tortillas and fishbowl margaritas in old town. Birdrock tide pools and KateSessions panoramic view are SD hidden treasures. Great video!

OH GOOD; WHEN can you show us the PARKING LOTS we have to struggle through to EACH wonderful experience ?
(San Diego Keep my Spirit written on a good day at Malibu!) lots of parking there btw.

The rollercoaster at Belmont Park is very uncomfortable to ride. Been on it many times in my life. I was impressed by this video. I'm born and raised in San Diego and there are some spots I didn't even know about, so thank you!
You probably are referring to the lack of parking "spots", right?

Thanks for all the great content on San Diego and route 66 (AZ). I have binge watched these videos and started planning my trips to these places.
I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life and been to almost every one of these and they are so cool! For a matter of fact my dad works at Petco Park and my mom is a photographer so she gets to do photo shoots of a lot of restaurants in north park, she also lived in north for a really long time! It’s soooo amazing!!!!!

Thank you for spot lighting San Diego. Born and raised in SD (still live here) I think you did a pretty good job. One area I feel you left out Little Italy. Also, FYI Old Town is the birth place of California.
Thanks for the tip, I will have to check it out next time
Oldest place in CA. Some of the Mexican restaurants aren't that great. Much more authentic in other parts though.
Carnitas snack shack close down in North Park. It's now a Breakfast Republic which is very good 😀
Im going to sd today!
The bars close at 2a.m. so book something local to pull off Sunday Brunch in North Park... if you're downtown, vice in North Park, try to get to the hillcrest area for brunch ('hash house a go-go' is a favorite)
Our four drinking/night life areas in San Diego are Pacific Beach (garnet street), Gas Lamp District (4th/5th Streets), North Park (University Ave) and we have a gay district called Hillcrest.

Thanks for mentioning the train museum!!! I give you a thumbs up just for that reason alone!
Great Video. I sure miss San Diego.
Have you driven a car lately? Look out for the traffic! another one he missed; Yes, Mission Bay! They used to have paddle boats there too?

Fantastic overview of San Diego. We went to the zoo years ago and absolutely loved it! Thanks for sharing these great locations. 👍
How do you talk about San Diego and not mention carne asada fries
California Burrito was born in San Diego. But, that's not too fancy.
or Rubios robertos in-n-out hodads and all the micro-breweries.........
In n out was started in LA area. I believe Jack in the Box started in San Diego though.

You do a beautiful job of our City!! Thank You 😊
For the past 10 years i have lived 4 miles from tacos el gordo, never heard of it till you and THANK YOU, i had the opportunity to go tonight and OMG!!! Thank you thank you, sooooooooo good! Best tacos ever, well worth the wait
So glad you went and checked them out! I wish I lived closer so I could go more often!
i like your bondage playlist
I live blocks away from it 😎
Born and raised in San Diego. Traveled to most of the US states, Canada, and Europe. But coning home to SD is always the best. I'm never leaving.
I live next to Balboa Park...it’s magical 😊
I am agree . Balboa park is a amazing and peaceful place , i love it, i am planning come back to SD soon.
Just amazing! Thanks for the list, will be handy for my future SD adventures.
I'm so happy to see there are still Americans who love their country and like to talk about the countless beautiful things America has.
I live three blocks from Mission Trails Park. And you're right. It's a good hiking area and don't forget Cowles Mountain to hike.
I'm just surprised you never mentioned the safari park in Escondido,Its a Wonderful place to go as well!!
No problem, so glad the video was helpful for your trip!

Hands down the best TH-cam dude for California "must see" suggestions!
This is the best THINGS TO DO in SD that I've come across. Nice work! Thank you!
Lived there during my 20’s, i missed sunnydaygo
Will be visiting this summer, It's been over 20 yrs. I just can't wait!!! 🌹🖤🌹🖤🌹🖤
I STAYED IN SAN DIEGO ONE SUMMER AS A TEENAGER NEAR MISSION BAY.........LOVED THE CITY......
I’m a local and this has to be the best list of suggestions. Even I learned some things! Thank you!
Def gonna use this to be a tourist when I go back 🥰
Thanks for adding the food adventure spots I requested Josh! and yeah Tacos El Gordo is bomb!
Edmond Edralin for sure! I want to do more food videos in the future!
He apparently doesnt know much about any of those ? good for you! YOU probably live in Salona Beach, right ? They have parking there and great food near the rail road tracks;Guess he couldn't find PARKING for Laguna nor anything near the Cuyamaca Mountains either ?

@@lyndafayesmusic : No , again , this is Lydia's hubby , Seth. We live in Imperial Beach in the most southwesterly city in the USA. I know just a little bit about many of the coastal environs because of my many surfing adventures - both north and south. Simply said it just sounds like somebody needed a (local) tour guide.Aloha you you and yours !
Two of the places I often visit to eat at SD are:
1. Phil's BBQ on Sports Arena Blvd
2. Vallarta Express on Balboa
I'd often make those drives from OC when I get a chance to! Totally worth it!
I always have to visit Phil's when I'm in town, and does no one eat at Anthony's Fish Grotto anymore?
SD native here....Excellent advice for visitors. Thank you
Great list for my hometown! :))
Kimberly H Hows the drifters down there??? Alot of them or not really??
Kark Maleta, unfortunately there are a lot downtown/ city center. California as a whole has a lot of homeless because other states send them here. It doesn’t rain much which also attracts homeless people.
Yeah but they are really sectioned off downtown. Stay west of 6th street or stay in the Gaslamp and you are good.
I'm addicted to your videos. Amazing job . We are planning trips .
Who remembers 6th grade camp at Palomar?
Bruh I got Cuyamaca, and I'm jealous af.
Brett Mog Cuyamaca sucked
Awesome job! Great tips for travel
Really nice video! Took notes of everything! Thank you so much

Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video
Great take on the spots! Please continue on with another segment. Peace!
Thanks, will do!
These are great suggestions! I practically live in San Diego for half the year and haven’t heard or thought of some of these. Thank you for these suggestions! Great video!

As a person born and raised in San Diego, you covered some great spots for tourists that I haven't seen in other videos which is great because i want people to see San Diego in its best light and all of its treasures. Then again, you gave away all the spots that I don't want to be busy haha.
Too bad he didn't " give away all the good parking spots too?:Look out for the traffic! another one he missed; Yes, Mission Bay! They used to have paddle boats there too?

Which month is good to visit San Diego as vacation for two weeks?
@Henry Mark anytime of the year to br honest but I want to say early spring to ealry summer
Wow!! So much great stuff! I’m moving there and will have lots to do and see now! Thank you!
Amazing video. Thank you so much :)
Great video thanks. San Diego added to bucket list.
This is awesome!! Going to Cali in May and this is perfect for ideas!!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful

I love SD , to me is the best US city and I've seen most of them . So there it is 20y later i'm still in San Diego.
TOTALLY agree with your #1 pick! We spent DAYS exploring this great park and all the museums.
Be careful to take a map for sure and drive a really tiny car ?Better check you bank statements before you leave; Did he not mention the recent increase in the price of gasoline or the LIMITED PARKING SPOTS ?

You did not talk about the fresh tortillas and fishbowl margaritas in old town. And the old amazing homes in mission hills (not really a tourist destination just interesting vibe of being hidden and seemed to be forgotten)... Searsuckers is one of my favorite restaurants too. Birdrock tide pools and KateSessions panoramic view are SD hidden treasures. Great video!
Haha, I was thinking about the jumbo margaritas too!!
Your video has been a great help when we visited San Diego last summer.
So glad it was helpful!
hey man this was an amazing video loved how much you went into detail! im moving to san diego next week and this video is gonna help me check out this amazing city!
Awesome, have fun in San Diego!
Wow, My best friend, Thank you for your hard work in making the video. I enjoyed the good video. Have a happy day.
Had NO idea there was a Model Railroad Museum in Balboa Park! Will definitely be visiting that one next time....
I love model railroads haha so it was the first thing I sought out when I went there.
The Sheriff Museum is across and up the street just a tad bit from there..also a must see/do!
Great recommendations many of the great things to do in SD thank God for my hometown

You’ll love Ocean Beach
Yes definitely! Also, climb Cowles Mountain. Great view, great sunset, and not a terrible hike.
I’m going to San Diego in February too!
Sorry, Februarary prob. not the best time. More rain and colder weather.
I’m going in a few days!
Very well done! I like living in Encinitas and love visiting Wind-n-sea beach at LaJolla

No OB? Ohhhhh I get it you're keeping it to the locals(;
shhh, don't tell anyone!
OB, if you're not a native, you get panhandled to death.
As a native, I had to think a little bit on what you meant by OB, but now i know what you mean! Im going there next week! ;)
