Except there's no artificial difficulty in this game. There's maybe 1 or 2 bullshit attacks (I actually can't think of any right now, but just to be safe I'll assume there's at least a couple); everything else is counterable, but demanding. Elden Ring was full of artificial difficulty (Fire Giant, Malenia). The boss design in this game is actually really good, considering this is their first soulslike.
Don’t be such a b. Those elites drop really good items, including quartz. Just don’t be such a wuss. There are mad shortcuts everywhere. You’re never too far from a stargazer.
Sorry, but Lies of P is by far the EASIEST Souls Like game! You're literally making it hard on yourself by using the weapons you are. You need the giant saw blade on the Dancers sword handle and upgrade upgrade upgrade! You'll run through everything without really ever dying!
I mean, if you're gonna include tedium into your difficulty considerations, then yes, other souls games are more difficult. If we're just comparing combat itself, there's an argument to made that Lies of P is somewhere up there with the toughest of them.
I spent like four hours on kop and 20 minutes in the final boss. I feel like it is kinda player dependent. Earlier bosses to me were harder because I had less upgrades.
You're not wrong. This game is harder than every FROM SOFTWARE game for a very simple reason. Sekiro gives you 12 frames to parry, this game gives you 8. It might not seem like much of a difference, but it is. The overall feeling of the parry being too precise and too punishing if you miss, makes you scared of trying, which makes the fights harder to learn. This game does have an "easy mode", called throwing the sink at the enemies, but its nowhere near as OP as the hadouken build in Elden Ring, or the 1 shot Hex build in Dark Souls 1.
"After what seems to be forever, Floverse is improving. He's truly forged through battle, however let's not forget that he has many interesting foes to face." More lore
Just a tip. Whenever the enemy is groggy, instead of charging a heavy attack you can toss a shot put at them and it’ll stagger them without you having to charge an attack.
Jeez man, I've been loving your playthrough and your sense of humor but you complain and whine ALOT it's actually quite cringey. You run past everything then complain you don't have the skills to defeat all these mini bosses. How are you gonna learn if you don't take the time to learn timings and the rhythm of enemy attacks? Also you complain alot about how you can't seem to avoid their attacks....you know there's a dodge button too right? And you don't have to stand right in front of the enemies face and just wait for an attack and you can like idk...move around? Try running away from some attacks? Seriously the only thing hard about the game is how YOU play it... and then blame the game for what you're doing wrong lol
You should be nearing your first full moonstone of the covenant items which will let you upgrade boss weapons to +4 and +5. Fair warning: there are only 6 of each in first playthrough, so exactly enough to upgrade two weapons. They don’t have a slab counterpart like souls games so choose wisely when going past +3, the katana you got near end is a fun choice but there’s still 3 or 4 pretty cool ones you’ve yet to see
i have played all the mayor souls games so far and at first i wanted to agree with you on the hardest of them all thing. i spent 6hours learning king of puppets cause i refused to use a specter or consumables. But then i started ng+ and something interesting happened. You wont realise it really in the normal playthrough, but the learning curve in this game is something else. I progressed to the game at more than twice the speed while still picking most stuff up and bosses having about double the hp(at least thats what it feels like) and being able to mostly kill you in 2-3hits. This game feels hard at first because unlike the other souls games, this one makes you either become a dodge god cause the timeframe is so small, or you really learn all the blocking patterns. but once you know them, you get something i like to call the sekiro effect, which is the first game where it was this outstanding. The fights become a perfect flow of blocking while getting hits in, in between the blocks. so is this the hardest game? i dont think so anymore. it is hard for sure, but i dont think it is the hardest. IT might have one of the steepest learning curves though since the frames for dodging and blocking are just this tiny bit to tight imo for at least some of the bosses.
I was stuck at the third last boss for 3 days, I had to quit each day to keep my sanity, and when I beat her I didnt feel like I had mastered the fight but got lucky because the AI was spamming easy dodgable attacks in its 2nd phase....
Laxasia? Yeah she is pretty tough, probably the toughest boss. I think you got good you just didnt realize it because you still got hit a lot. I dont think you can beat her with luck
@@almontaseralazri3107 Agreed. She was the biggest challenge for me. People say NP is the toughest boss, but I beat it in 5 tries, whereas Laxasia took me 35. But I loved every second of fighting her. What an amazing boss.

That's very interesting. I had way more difficulty beating Romeo than the swamp monster. It's pretty cool how different people struggle with different bosses in these games.
Honestly, I wouldn't regard Lies of P as the "hardest". The game implements a lot of huge QoL improvements over the usual Souls formula, like how your Ergo is left for you outside of the boss arena rather than in it, and you even getting an upgrade so you don't lose your Ergo if you die before picking it back up. A lot of the arm gadgets can be a humongous help vs. specific situations, and you usually get the important ones before you REALLY need them. Throwing weapons are also extraordinarily overpowered too, and while Fury Attacks are hard to deal with at first, the Ghostwalking Amulet you can get after beating the Green Monster of the Swamp makes life easier letting you dodge through the attacks.
Thank you. The problem with a lot of people saying this game is so hard is because they approach it like Bloodborne or Sekiro. When, despite all of the similarities, it really is its own game that demands a different playstyle than those other two.
@@dirac_dydx1830I think that is the best testament to Lies of P's design. i actually find lies of p to be difficult but very fair. unlike the abuse dark souls seems to relish in. i also would say that mortal shell is a far more difficult game than lies of p ever could be.
Lies of P is tough but my biggest complaint with the game is that the levels feel like a 3/10 difficulty level while the bosses feel like a 9/10 difficulty. I think dark souls does a way better job with having the level difficulty closer to the boss difficulty to prepare the players in a better fashion. In lies of P I never get stuck on the normal levels and generally I die around 3-5 times AT MOST with the level enemies but the bosses are just on another level and the time it takes to beat them is insane. I'd say the the overall difficulty of the bosses in this game is harder than the overall difficulty of the sekiro bosses and that's a pretty big feat.
@@kenethernandez6246 i never parried a single boss i used the ole dark souls strat of staying close and dodging. when that didnt work i used a spectre powered up by the cube and used throwable objects like the sharp pipe. not a single boss became a challenge that way. give it a try.
@@zensai-gaming I have used specters in some bosses. The 1 vs the 4 brotherhood guys cuz that fight was stupid imo and the one for the swamp monster simply cuz I didn't like the boss and the second phase is too agro for such a small space. The problem with using the specters is that the bosses go down in just 1 or 2 tries and that doesn't feel right either. Doing it solo feels too hard and using the specters make the bosses too easy so I have a hard time finding a good middle ground with a decent challenge for the second option. Overall the game is amazing its just this one problem I have.
@@kenethernandez6246 try just the throwables i think that would be a nice middle ground only use them if you want to. theres a perk that allows for carrying more throwables and expanding your belt.
@@kenethernandez6246 While I believe Lies of P does a great job of being tough but fair, I will admit that perhaps its greatest flaw is that the difficulty is very inconsistent. Regular mobs are effortlessly defeated. Elite enemies are 5x harder. Bosses are 20x harder. It results in a very disjointed experience. I absolutely love this game (in my top 5 of all time, only surpassed by Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, and Silent Hill 2), but yeah. I really do wish they smoothed out the experience a bit as far as difficulty goes. I adore the boss design, but regular mobs simply don't prepare you for how hard the bosses are, and that's a problem. Still a great game, though.
It's hard for all the wrong reasons. The game is great with the exception of the bosses. Most of if not all of the bosses are poorly designed hot garbage. I have played and beat solo all of from softwares soulslike games Including several soulslike games by other developers multiple times and I could say for sure this is the biggest pile of hot garbage boss wise in the genre. The bosses can pretty much be boiled down to steroid rage monkeys that never stop attacking. Too much poise too much forward momentum almost no downtimes long wind ups with barely any tell... And the amount of double boss fights is enraging. Not to mention a quadruble boss fight late game. If it wasn't for the bosses this game would have been much more enjoyable and I will not be playing at a second time. Overall I would give this game a 5 out of 10.
Please stop selling this narrative. I've yet to beat Elden Ring, or Sekiro, and I've never played any other soulslike, and I've beaten this game twice. I'm on my 3rd playthrough now.
Don’t understand why people keep saying it’s hard.. maybe too boost the views… so many other souls likes that are way harder than LoP just block man it’s sooo ez just press the damn L1 button and ez win

With how linear it is, you can hardly call it a Soulslike. They're generally like 3D Metroidvanias and this... has almost no exploration. Much like Metroid Dread, which isn't a Metroidvania either. Besides that, no it's not the hardest Soulslikes. Not even by a longshot. It's harder than Demon's Souls and the original Dark Souls (excluding the hardest boss that got added with DLC), but Souls 2, 3, Elden Ring and Sekiro are all significantly harder.
IMO, the average difficulty of the bosses is higher than DS2, 3, and Elden Ring (haven't played Sekiro). But the peak boss difficulty of DS3 and Elden Ring does indeed exceed anything in LoP. LoP bosses have much more consistent quality than the aforementioned games, IMO. There's nothing shit-tier like the Crystal Sage or Curse-Rotted Greatwood. But yes, I absolutely agree that the linearity is a problem. I'm okay with it if it facilitated the polish in the combat mechanics that we see, but in an ideal world, I would have loved more open-ness in the world.

Bosses movesets in this game are generally more awkward and unintuitive to dodge/parry when compared to dark souls and Sekiro.
just wait till bro gets to laxasia😂
The more you go further the more it get harder & (one more thing there is no other games HARDER than Sekiro period)
Sekiro ez tho
i actually find lies of p to be difficult but very fair. unlike the abuse dark souls seems to relish in. i also would say that mortal shell is a far more difficult game than lies of p ever could be.
I need more lies of P vids!!!
Don’t understand why people keep saying it’s hard.. maybe too boost the views… so many other souls likes that are way harder than LoP just block man it’s sooo ez just press the damn L1 button and ez win
Lord 😂someone please help me
I can’t seem to defeat The dam giant victor dude 😂his second phase is extremely brutal
And I am not even ready for Laxasia 👎👎👎💅even tho she slays I don’t need her to 😂slay me
With how linear it is, you can hardly call it a Soulslike.
Man this series keeps me going during hard times thanks man
The sound of you dropping your controller at the very end made me lose my shit 😂😂😂😂
1:32 fights afire based enemy...buffs weapon with fire....gg!
7:47 you know that you have to soent the quarz? You said it like youre holding on to it and thinking it boosts you in any way 😅😅
“Getting towards the end of the game…”
Yeah, I chuckled at that too.
I just best the game with the two dragon sword. Dont forget to upscale it to S with technique crank
He is so close. But will he finish before Spiderman drops?
actually I think you are right, I played every from soft games, this one Is harder than all of them
games in harder then some dark souls game but elden ring is way harder than lie of P at least to me and ive been playing all the dark souls from all release drops
Sekiro is still the hardest one by far I wouldn’t call this game hard compared to all the other games
not hardest but difficult if u are underlvl and everything after lvl 150 is joke
these videos are the highlight of my week your the goat
Ng+ is easyer, you have enough damage , for revenge, the First Run:)
I counted. He died 19 times on the "green monster of the swamp" boss.
Enjoy the best technique weapon and arguably the best weapon in the game
4 hours on the king, so you need to spend 40 hours for nameless puppet
I wouldn't even put Nameless Puppet in my top 5 hardest bosses in Lies of P tbh.
I don't know if I just got lucky, but "L" was WAY harder than NP for me. The former took me 36 tries to beat. NP took 5.
Bro wtf I’ve beaten this game three times and I’ve never seen that dig move from the creature of the swamp
