Seconding the fully upgraded gun arm, it lets you shoot quickly after a dodge, twice if you time it right. If you back off and shoot or do so while the enemy is wrapping up a combo, it’s free damage and helps build stagger.

Ehhhh not really. Its still really slow building up to the spear mode and you cant use your fable arts or else no more spear mode. Most strength builds arent great for this game tho in general😅. You really need the speed.
@@katunu6030 Strength builds have a little more leeway for people. They have greater guard so if they're not good at parrying and build for Guard Regain, they can brute force a lot of the game using regular guards then countering to regain their health. Ngl even though it’s a pretty early game weapon, that salamander blade goes crazyyyy. The physical damage does leave a bit to be desired but the way it melts those monster enemies and it’s speed makes me love it.
One of my favorite parts about this weapon is the side attack because the character jumps to the side so it's easy to get behind an enemy after a couple of side attacks. I didn't really see you using this attack, but it's so good.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen many people using the trident boss weapon. It has insane reach especially on it’s charged heavy and running heavy and has a 30% crit chance
I just finished ng2+ today! Tried respecing at different times to try other weapons but ultimately I kept going back to a pure strength build with live puppets axe. You make this look fun though, may have to give it a try!
The best weapon by far is the giant saw blade on the dancer handle. Fully upgraded, it's the highest damage weapon and it's fast af being on the sword handle
I discovered this combo on my own in NG and used it for every boss between NG and NG++. I’d try other weapons for each level but bosses were always taken down by the saw blade. That charge attack double combo (4 total hits) was so satisfying. There was something about P changing the direction of the swings between each combo, that made it feel so damn good!
I'm a big fan of the elemental weapon heads on the acidic crystal handle with an advance build. Fast poking damage, which later on in the story when your fighting non-puppet enemies can be absolutely devastating, as they cause elemental dot damage.
The cube is only useable if you have the perk in P-Organ that speed up the cube usage. Only then the speed of cube use will be twice as fast. Also, if Sophia is no longer available or inaccessible, you can always level up at the stargazer. As why Sophia is unhurt during the attack... you are about to find out why soon. I mean have you ever heard anyone talking about the blue lady in the hall before throughout your time in the hotel?
I used Aegis Shield and Puppet Ripper essentially as soon as they became available for the entire game. Like you pointed out, the Puppet Ripper's got insane range and great stagger, which made it good against (almost) every boss. Only boss I switched it for were the fast ones, like the Brotherhood fight you did this episode, where I also used the katana. What makes the aegis shield good: You can essentially turn a block into the equivalent of a charged heavy AND get spacing away from an enemy combo. If you block the last hit of a combo with it, you can charge back in with the L3 buff for a stance break. I was never good at parrying in this game, and the shield is a full defensive package (good block, fable parry, spacing, stance pressure). The puppet string is ridiculously good though, especially on Technique builds. It's the opposite of the Aegis - lets you instantly recover from parry/block knockbacks and come in with a ton of damage and stance pressure. The L3 can even stance break, which just makes it incredible - way better for stance breaking than the aegis, which has a recharge timer and a substantial charge-up for its heavy attack. You're making good progress man, just keep your chill and you'll make it through the last stretch. You've got the hardest boss coming up real soon.
I've been having a lotta fun with the Trident of the Covenant. It's critical attacks go crazy (at my level the base light attack combo for the entire stamina bar does close to 10k damage)
I don't think the game mentions this, but with aegis you can hold L2 and mash L1 to perfect guard hits. basically carried me through the last boss fight.
Flameberg fire legion arm I found to be the most useful once it's fully upgraded. Especially when enemies(including bosses) are doing that sideways chilling out walk where the AI is still deciding what move it wants to do next. They just sit there and allow themselves to get burned. There's a multiplier to the damage if you are able to hold the burn on them for a decent period of time before switching to another attack method. It starts to drain a LOT of their health in the same way bleed style weapons do.
Found you recently and can not get enough of the souls content. Don’t forget it takes 3 full moonstones to upgrade boss weapon and only 6 available in NG+0. Katana is my favorite too but you will def want to try secret wep or couple from last few bosses. Also upgrade puppet string or pandemonium fully and you’ll like the legion arms a lot more. Trust
