  • So yeah, I've wanted to do this video for awhile but just haven't found the time. Believe it or not, there is a really rich mix of influences that power the soundtrack to the legend of Zelda, from classical music, to pop/rock to weird albums out plants. It's all here folks so come get it while its fresh!

    Hello Friends
Well THAT was a ton of editing but ngl was a huge amount of fun for me to do. For years I have noticed all these little references scattered throughout the Zelda series so to break them all down and explain them, I hope was as fun for you as it was for me. Because this video was a lot of work and currently I am a one man team, it took a bit longer than normal. If you'd like contribute here www.patreon.com/Naetemusic it would definitely help me out be able to afford cool things like Final cut plug ins, and editor etc. But if not just having you all here is awesome! till next time friends
P.S. Just wanted to clarify a bit on the Prinner, I understand in Kakariko Village it is not an EXACT prinner despite my voiceover saying that. And tbh that is on me I should've realized my script was not entirely accurate as the upper melodic figure in Koji Kondo's work does not strictly conform. I guess my point with this was to point despite minor difference just how SIMILAR these gestures were/are. I hope that came across in the video regardless!

The overworld theme was composed before Bolero was taken out. Bolero was just going to be the title music.

I’ve only got up to the end of Koji’s history section, but I have to say that this video is extremely well made. The audio levels are great (your voice and the music), your presentation is great, your editing is great, etc. I’m not surprised this took a long time.

I learn a lot from your videos, and this one is no exception, but i still dont really understand most of music terminology, what would you recommend for idiots like me who don’t know anything about music theory 😅?

Oh man, that is such a big question of where to start. My best advice would be, buy a book that lists scales and shows how to do scale construction. Learn that and have it down pat before going on to anymore advanced theory. Once you feel confident come back and I'll give you further suggestions.

@@NAETEMUSIC thanks, and oh I would like to see more videos about Zelda, but I also hope you talk about other video game music, specifically it would be cool if you did a video on Street Fighter where you have different styles of music for each character that matches their personality ( through the melody) and their native country ( through the instruments). Just a video suggestion I had

@@hussain6469if this video does well, than the sky’s the limit in terms of VGM (video game music) so let’s hope that happens!

@@NAETEMUSIC I think you shouldn’t concern yourself too much with that tbh, upload what you want and if it gets a lot of view great and if it doesn’t it doesn’t matter because you have your community who share your interests and nerdy topics. That’s just my two cents
