After accidentally topping off my steering system with brake fluid, I needed to flush the system. Your video was very good-I could see and understand as you described the process. Thank you for taking the time to do this, and God bless you a hundred fold.
Thank you so much!! Just did this on my 2014 Touareg vr6 - I cut off the finger of a latex glove and used a zip tie to block off the return on the reservoir. - I recommend over filling the reservoir before turning on the car for the first time; it will suck a bunch down when it runs for the first time
thanks for the video. My q7 is giving me some slight resistance at times when I make a turn at slower speed. 170k miles. I'm thinking I'll try replacing the fluid first before going with a new pump. Any suggestions on how to diagnose what the problem might be as I just hate throwing parts at a problem.
Normally 170k milage is nothing for such a pump as long as you obey the oil change intervals... First try flushing the steering fluid. If no change, you might think about taking it to a service... Please note that if there is a problem with the pump, you must hear a noise doing full right or full left turns at the steering limit... Rather than what you wrote..
My TDI Touareg has enough power steering fluid. However, the steering wheel is stiff when I start the car sometimes. After i turn it off and back on, it goes back to normal. What could be the issue
I put DOT 4 brake fluid by mistake in my power steering reservoir, it's 2016 Volkswagen touareg 3.6. Can you please help me how to fix the problem if my steering doesn't work after power steering flush. Right now it's working but I have to flush brake fluid now.
Hi AhmadKhan, it is pitty... You must IMMEDIATELLY do exactly what I explain in this video. Otherwise, you damage all the pipes and gaskets in the steering system... So higly recommend you to flush the resevoir and do it twice 1 month after....

Using a latex glove is quite a creative idea for blocking the reservoir... Good Job....

If the level of the fluid is the same all the time without any loss, the reason could be the hydraulic steering pump may be it is toasted...
halo, nice job .
how much oil you need for this operation ?
1.5 liter is enough..
Thank you, very helpful, regards.
