@@CavemanOutdoorsMissouri I actually found it quite helpful. He showed some accessories I’d not seen before and he gave his thoughts on why they worked or why they didn’t. Too many TH-cam channels are just shills for manufacturers. I’d rather watch a video where the effects and production may be basic, but the info is top notch.
I got this from Amazon for carrying the Mini 2: TOMAT Mavic mini Carrying Case, Portable Shoulder Bag Traveling Case. Even though I had an included case in the combo from Costco, it is a pouch type case that needs the drone to be dropped in sideways, which is too fiddly keeping the props secured. This one is a fitted hard case that holds the mini horizontally, much better. It even serves as a launch pad in a pinch. Really perfectly designed for this purpose.
I’ve been looking for exactly this mount for my insta360. I think there are under mounts available for other drones, but I’ve only seen over mounts for the mini2. I specifically want an under mount for the Insta 360 as it’s a lot more interesting looking down thank up!
If you are going to be way out in the sticks away from any sort of power, I'd also recommend a folding solar panel with USB connection, at minimum of 20 watts. You can lay it in the sun, charge the larger battery pack (or spare) and the other battery pack can charge the drone goodies. At least that way you have some sort of source of power.
Get master air screw props, go ahead and tuck them under the prop guard the comes in the combo, the number one accessory for the mini 2 is master air screw stealth props, hands down the must have accessory
Hey dude! Great videos. 9:43 you talk about a 360 mount and discard it. I am interested in that as I just bought an insta 360 one x2. Thing is I am also looking for a good way to recover the drone from a boat, and i thought a handle sticking out if the bottom would be the best way to grab it...in case of wind or waves...what do you think?
The reason I do not sell that mount is because it's not the most secure, and I do not want to be liable for a $400 drone and $400 camera being damaged due to improper mounting or any unfortunate event. That's the main reason I have only used that mount once. As far as a water recovery goes, more than likely the Mini 1/2 will sink before you could grab it. It all depends on how buoyant the handle is. The handle could be 3D printed, which I have dabbled with a handle before but didn't think of an application that makes sense for it, this could be one. If the 3D printed handle is sealed well, and printed mostly hollow, it might be buoyant enough for a water recovery. Unfortunately that would require destructive testing that I'm not willing to try 😂
@@dudeandhisdrones lol. No destructive anything please! Recovery on a boat is dry of course. The boat moves so i don't know if we will be able to grab the drone like you do . ...thus the idea of something to grab on to dangling from the bottom. Obviously it has to be secure.
I went back and forth struggling with the right decision on whether to buy the fly more combo or just the standard package. I figured out if you just buy even one extra battery and than a charger and bag to hold your stuff your approaching flymore cost. So I ended up just grabbing the flymore, I feel like two batteries wouldve been perfect but three will do, I can't see me flying around for more than 40mins at a time. Nice to have three batteries though incase one dies or somthing.
Cook video! Appreciate it... I bought a standard kit, not combo because I was afraid to end up with accessories that I don't need. So far, I don't regret, the only accessory I need is extra batteries. Cheers!

Since ya asked Filter: Because you cannot follow the 180° rule without ND filters(I explain the rule here th-cam.com/video/JbejZLSVHao/w-d-xo.html ) , if you're not following the 180° rule, your motion will be choppy when it's bright outside, look at the background on the edge of the screen and see how it jumps, very unnatural. You can also use ND filters to create a creative look you would otherwise not be able to do, usually with long exposure photography, which can also be used to create motion in timelapses as shown here in the same video ( th-cam.com/video/JbejZLSVHao/w-d-xo.html ) Also when dealing with water, having a polarizer will help with seeing into the water vs seeing the reflections. So there are a bunch of uses for ND and other filters. Landing pad: You're car probably isn't going to be parked on top of a mountain during a 3 hour hike, also launching from a metallic object is not recommended as it messes with the compass and could cause abnormal flight behavior 3D printed mount: I agree, which is why I said what I said, but I wouldn't even trust an injection molded ABS mount either after testing, it wasn't the mount that was a problem, it was the rigidity, you need something that is flexible and strong. TPU might work. Prop holders: I wouldn't use rubber bands, as it's well documented with the MM that using something that puts pressure on the props will deform them over time causing unexpected crashes or the drone to behave abnormally and cause you to replace props more often than needed. Sun hood: Since you are not familiar with the benefits of ND filters, I doubt you would be familiar with the benefits of a sun hood, but it can block the sun's glare and reduce lens flares, which some people find undesirable and others don't. Protection is a secondary feature. Thanks for the feedback!

I appreciate the comments, it makes me realize that people might wanna see more instructional videos and what kind of things I can help teach people, from this comment I'm working on a new video that explains ND filters a little better. Check out my latest photo on Instagram, it's not perfect, but it's a demonstration of how one might get a very cool looking shot using an ND filter. instagram.com/p/CKqPsQUBqfR/ Any large metallic objects can negative effect the drones calibration, so during startup or even while flying, I would steer clear of any large metallic objects. I once flew between some metallic buildings with my M2P and it caused it to fly directly at me and nearly ran into a building. No mods yet that I know of that reduce weight, other than you can purchase the Japanese batteries which weigh a significant amount less than other batteries because they have to remain under 200g in Japan. What a mess in that table hehe, it was useful though. Thank you! decision that I made is to save $150, later on I had to spend more money on the accessories so your suggestion of buying that fly more combo is a must. 👍 And the most important suggestion for me is the gimbal protection 👍👍
I didn't get the combo kit and honestly have no regrets, I already have a camera bag to use and I already have a good £30 fast charging powerbank. I can fully charge the drone like 3 times as I'm walking around between shots.
Hey i like the video but the whole reason i clicked on the video was for the mount that you said (don't even bother with it you won't need it) im trying to get vr drone footage with a insta 360 one x2 so i actually do need it please give a link
I'm considering releasing this mount because of the DJI Action 2 camera, but I am working on some kind of waiver so buyers can't sue me if they break their drones/cameras.
Probably not as the gimbal tilt is caused by the angle of attack needed to accelerate in high wind, in fact, I would probably avoid using the Lens hood in high winds as it could grab the wind and cause erratic flight behavior.
I fly in windy conditions all the time, up to about 25mph, and don't have any problems with either of my Mini 2's. They love the wind. Birds are my problem. Damn Starlings think it's a toy for them to chase...oh, and a lovestruck goose almost sideswiped me the other day doing about 60mph...
I didn't buy the fly more kit. I bought the standard kit. And I got a super deal with discounts on Amazon. But, I didn't realize I was buying an Amazon Refurb!!! But, it flies great. And I got the drone kit and a New Samsung Evo 128GB as card for like $400. Tax, shipping, everything. Got a super study case from Harbor freight for $40 too. Just need to add a few things I think. I can't really complain for the price. I may add a battery and I like the hood idea!!! You're the first person I've seen in TH-cam talk about one.
Straight to the point, thanks. I’ll be referencing the vid for the lights, guards and lenses, unfortunately I have an IPad Pro 11in and it heavy I wouldn’t want to drop the iPad.
The other filter cases look more practical if you are standing somewhere in the field... thePGY looks stylish but it seems to waste a lot of space with just 4 filters in there and actually don’t you want to close the case immediately anyway ?
Just my opinion, but if you have a costco membership, that is the way to go. You get the drone, extra battery, starter SD card, extra props, and the crappy bag for less that the retail price of the Mini 2. You can pick and choose the other stuff and not have to shell out $600 immediately. Just my .02.
I really appreciate all that you do. Not easy to put together all that content and edit. However I would’ve liked a more systematic approach and slower description of accessories. Thanks for all the info
Thanks for this feedback, I'll definitely consider taking it slower, I would love to hear any suggestions on the systematic approach, like what kind of things do you want me to hit on for each accessory?
@@dudeandhisdrones Again thanks for all the info! I just meant have an order to the presentation while possibly writing the names of the items listed as you mention them. Audio alone sometimes is not clear. Thanks again man! 🙏
Cool bro, thanks :) Hey I'm actually looking if it's possible to Dual Lock a powerbank straight on the drone and to fly it while charging :P You look like the kind of guy who would try that, and (little bait) it seems like nobody ever thought about it online xD
Adding extra weight decreases the efficiency of the motors. There's a point of diminishing returns and the motors would not be able to handle the excess strain, possibly decreasing the life of the motors and or causing a failure in mid flight. I wouldn't add any additional batteries to something like the Mini 2, DJI has engineers who have spent numerous hours figuring out the perfect balance for both efficiency and flight times, I don't think we would be able to tinker our way into making it better without making other sacrifices.
Once I installed DJI Fly app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. For some reason, I reset my phone. But in my phone memory the DJI Fly app's folders were not deleted. After resetting I installed again the app and fly my DJI Mini 2. But no flight record files were not recorded in FlightRecord folder. Now what can I do or how can I delete all folders and reinstall DJI Fly app.
Thanks for sharing! Dji could have redesigned the included prop holder in the fmc minim2 package such that the bottom part design is similar to the top part so that the top props would not be bend. Thanks!
I didn't get the prop holder harness in the Costco combo, so I just got a different case which doesn't require strapping them down for storage. Much quicker to deploy and stow that way.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll still use the prop holder but I won’t lock it down with then pin n hole. I might make another hole so it’s not so tight but holds the props just in place without bending.
NEVER get your hands near the blades of your drone, they will cut your fingers. Even with the auto stop function when you turn it over.. if you pick the drone slightly wrong it will cut your fingers
Some pretty good accessories there, I recently started flying with a mini 2 and got the combo kit version, loads of room in that bag for all sorts. The one must have accessory you listed that I can't see the point of is strobe lights, I've seen several videos of folk using them, and you can hardly see them
There is 2 points to the strobe lights, one is to help with seeing the drone at greater distances, it's much easier to see the blinking lights than it is to see the drone when its further away. I can see the Mini almost 2000 ft away using strobes. The other point is for night navigation, which requires an Anti-Collison strobe and navigation lights for orientation.
You're absolutely right, the purpose is to be small and portable. The good news is, most of this stuff still remains small and portable, and as long as you don't add all of it at once, you can still use some of it without going over the 250g limit.
Would love to see a ND filter comparison video! Debating which brand and types to get atm. Leaning towards the freewell kit simply because it has the most options
Love the information you provided. However, your camera person was causing me to have vertigo. Just keep the camera steady and stop switching the view so quickly.
No Landing gear? That's the first thing I got. 6 grams and not an issue at all. I have two Mini 2's and 8 batteries. I really like flying a lot. But the landing gear is a must if your flying a lot. It also helps with stability in wind...I fly in a lot of windy conditions and the mini 2 is a beast....
Definitely gonna disagree with the entirety of that statement. The landing gear is completely unnecessary, adds weight and increases drag and resistance in wind. I hand catch my Mini's when I can't land on the ground, its a simple and easy procedure with almost no risk when done correctly, but I don't recommend it for everyone. I don't fly my mini in higher winds than it's rated for, I pull out any of my other heavier drones for that, or a FPV drone which can handle dang near hurricane force winds, so you may be right, perhaps the Mini 2 is great in high winds, but personally, I'm not risking my $400 investment when I have better tools for the conditions
@@dudeandhisdrones Well. That's cool. But your not right. I've been flying over 50+ years. My Dad was an Aircraft Engineer. I could start an .049 before I could ride a bike. I fly Two Mini 2's. I fly in Wind a LOT. I get 25 minutes of flight easy and NO STABILITY issues at ALL. A friend of mine shadowed me with his Mavic Pro and that Mini 2 is great in wind. I've been flying 6-8 batteries day and night for 3 months now. The ONLY issue I have is a Firmware problem that hardly anybody has Noticed. I can't get over 1080@50fps. I did for the first week of having Mini 2.1. But after the Firmware update it killed it. After a few more tries, I'm where I'm at now. It'll get fixed so I'm not mad. It's an Android glitch. They are great little quads. Oh, and I have a monster that carries 3lbs. of very expensive stuff and I can't just fly it around. Hence the Mini 2's.
I sold a FMC for $350, but it was my Mini 1, don't think you're going to find the Mini 2 FMC @$400 just yet, but this was also published a long time ago in the drone world.

Hi! Can I safely use the feature "RTH" on a Mavic Mini-2 using a (WI-FI ONLY) Ipad mini 5-generation, or do I need the iPad with (WI-FI + CELLULAR )?
Yes, you do not need cellular data to fly but you may want to pre-load maps when you're away from wifi.
where is the gopro mount?
Hey i like the video but the whole reason i clicked on the video was for the mount that you said (don't even bother with it you won't need it) im trying to get vr drone footage with a insta 360 one x2 so i actually do need it please give a link
I'm considering releasing this mount because of the DJI Action 2 camera, but I am working on some kind of waiver so buyers can't sue me if they break their drones/cameras.
@@dudeandhisdrones oh okay that makes sense maybe you can say on the description (Not Intended for in flight use) or something
Is Pgytech safe to use now? I do remember they had a design flaw with the gimbal or am I thinking about a different company?
The PGYTech work great, I do recall a company having a recall, but I don't remember who it was.
Not trying to be a jerk, but the constant cuts, zooms and bobbing camera is rough.
Go jerk off somewhere else
It's fine. Get over it
@@TisGOBBLEdeGOOK 😂
Hey I REALLY need that bottom gopro mount for a 360 cam. Can I buy it from you
I do have a instant 360 one R and X camera that I might try.
I know I’m 2 years late but the first strobe light link won’t work
Good review thanks
Thanks for watching!
Do you think the lens hood will help with gimbal tilt in wind?
Probably not as the gimbal tilt is caused by the angle of attack needed to accelerate in high wind, in fact, I would probably avoid using the Lens hood in high winds as it could grab the wind and cause erratic flight behavior.
I fly in windy conditions all the time, up to about 25mph, and don't have any problems with either of my Mini 2's. They love the wind. Birds are my problem. Damn Starlings think it's a toy for them to chase...oh, and a lovestruck goose almost sideswiped me the other day doing about 60mph...
Maybe just instead of external battery buy 1 or 2 extra for the mini2
What case do you use for your ND Filters?
The ones they come with usually
I get camera shake with my filters🤷🏻♂️✨
If you have all 3 strobes on will it be over the 250g limit??
Yes, it would be over the 250g threshold for registration in the US.
I've been eyeballing this case to hold the Mini 2 and extras. amzn.to/3rnEOoQ
Yes, sneaky Amazon.
Your a big fellar with a big heart!
Thanks, working on the big part!
I never felt like having a landing pads... I hand catch almost all time... I agree with you fly more combo is much better
That's a good point, you really do wanna minimize the amount of time the case is open so no dust or debris gets inside.
IMPORTANT: If your in uk watch out the strobe lights tend to put the weight over 250g in weight so you will not be able to fly it without a flyer id
A single strobe will not exceed the 250g limit, the Mini 2 weighs about 238-240 grams.
@@dudeandhisdrones I noticed afterwards that it is lighter than what they say
I just equipped a 1km lumintop thor thrower laser flashlight on the dji mini 2. At night it looks like aliens are takin over.
O shihhh he got a Yoda shirt on, I was hearing him but now I'm listening..
what cord do suggest I use with using a iPad Pro with my dji mini2??do u have a link on amazon?
Depends on if you need lightning or USB C, here's a USB C to USB C that is 10" amzn.to/3gv5UWD
Which mount do you present at 9:33 and where can I get this mount?
This is a prototype mount that I made for the Mini 1, I'm considering releasing it based on feedback.
@@dudeandhisdrones how much would you charge with shipping to Germany?
@@dudeandhisdrones I'm interested in that mount too.
I heard that the bicycle mount you showed was not only incorrectly and badly affixed to non-ideal conditions and specs for your handlebar...
You are welcome to do whatever you want with the information provided.
You forgot the extend leg landing kit..
Great perspective! I’m sold on a hood now.
.....great testing, great info.
Glad you liked it!
Just my opinion, but if you have a costco membership, that is the way to go. You get the drone, extra battery, starter SD card, extra props, and the crappy bag for less that the retail price of the Mini 2. You can pick and choose the other stuff and not have to shell out $600 immediately. Just my .02.
Costco doesn't get this stuff until it's been out for 6+ months but the costco deals not bad if you already have a membership
Cool bro, thanks :)
Hey I'm actually looking if it's possible to Dual Lock a powerbank straight on the drone and to fly it while charging :P
You look like the kind of guy who would try that, and (little bait) it seems like nobody ever thought about it online xD
@@dudeandhisdrones Yes, I know, this is why I would never do it with mine ^^
Once I installed DJI Fly app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. For some reason, I reset my phone. But in my phone memory the DJI Fly app's folders were not deleted. After resetting I installed again the app and fly my DJI Mini 2. But no flight record files were not recorded in FlightRecord folder. Now what can I do or how can I delete all folders and reinstall DJI Fly app.
I'm not really sure, I'm not an android user nor am I well versed in how to install or reinstall on it.
Easy on the camera movement dude! This isn't the Blair witch project, you're recommending drone accessories.
I've gotten this feedback a few times on this video, I guess I gotta fire my wife as the cameraperson
@@dudeandhisdrones 🤣
Thanks for sharing! Dji could have redesigned the included prop holder in the fmc minim2 package such that the bottom part design is similar to the top part so that the top props would not be bend. Thanks!
Yes, exactly
I didn't get the prop holder harness in the Costco combo, so I just got a different case which doesn't require strapping them down for storage. Much quicker to deploy and stow that way.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll still use the prop holder but I won’t lock it down with then pin n hole. I might make another hole so it’s not so tight but holds the props just in place without bending.
I d love to get your bag!
I would take that bag if your giving it away lol
Awesome! I usually hand catch mine.
Right on
thanks for a great video, as soon i will get my drone, i will look at the products, by the way, where did you get that awsome t-shirt !!
Walmart!
@@dudeandhisdrones lol
NEVER get your hands near the blades of your drone, they will cut your fingers. Even with the auto stop function when you turn it over.. if you pick the drone slightly wrong it will cut your fingers
That’s why you hold it from the bottom when catching and flying off from hand
Bought myself a 1kg Black Pla Spool for 20$ and printed all those acessories ahah instead of the retail price that would go up to aout 150$
Good job, being able to 3D print is a skill like any other, you just paid yourself $130!
@@dudeandhisdrones i was into 3d printing before I entered the drone world. And being able to link these 2 hobbies together is awesome 😎
Can I have the Bag you have at 3:00
What about the giveaway for the bag? 😂 I bought the normal version and now I'm regretting it badly.
I carry the box it came in around with me. I am also regretting it.

Just found and subbed to you, great stuff 👍🏻
Welcome aboard!
Dude,I understand that the accessories and stuff are cool.Im using the fly more combo bag all the time but the drone is called MINI for a reason
You're absolutely right, the purpose is to be small and portable. The good news is, most of this stuff still remains small and portable, and as long as you don't add all of it at once, you can still use some of it without going over the 250g limit.
Dude and his Drones
I cant afford the fly more combo kit
Would love to see a ND filter comparison video! Debating which brand and types to get atm. Leaning towards the freewell kit simply because it has the most options

Good thing they are optional!

Oh, and the Mini 2 is FASTER than the Mavic Air in Cine mode...which is kinda a drag but funny...

Why the landing pad, write "H" ..not "D"?.. heli cannot landed there right?..just curious
I believe the H is more than just to mean a helipad, but also to indicate the correct way to set down on the pad. I'm sure it's because of the recognition of the H.
Maybe it’s for “H”omepoint 😁
