Another gimmick pusher for DJI! A dime a dozen! The CCP must really appreciate you. Why would I by DJI junk heading into the Winter, rain, dark lighting, and unemployment all over? Why would i spend my money on this? Anyone can get drone photos. They are cheap as cel phone photos! Worthless thanks to the greed and exploitation by DJI.... they have made aerial photos cheap. Cheaper than the mini.
I know that the thread for the prop screws on the mini two are different. I am wondering if you took the new props from the mini two and using the proper screws for the mini one you could put the mini two props on the mini one. I suspect that the slight improvement in forward speed on the mini two is achieved due to the stiffer props. That said if the mini two props do work on the mini one that would be a great upgrade for anyone who has a mini one.
I work professionally, I have a mavic 2 pro, but I just ordered a mini 2 to keep in my every day bag for random fun shots, and to use in special situations where I'm worried I might crash my mavic 2 (never crashed a drone so far fingers crossed). It's nice to have a backup and something smaller than can pull of riskier shots and fit into tighter spaces.
Bought the Mini 2 as my next step up from the Ryze Tello drone and as a beginner drone pilot.. Mind = Blown! The Mini 2 is a beautiful piece of kit and is an absolute dream to fly for a beginner. Thanks for your video! 👍
There's also a feature where you can trim and enhance photos directly from the app. No need to download and edit so you can instantly share even while your drone has barely touched the ground.
I have seen MANY Mini 2 Reviews, in fact I think all of them, and this is the best review which addressed all the items I am interested in - Video Quality comparison, Wind Resistance footage and comparison and range. I was also interested to learn about the three flaws you found, which we hope will be addressed through an App upgrade. look forward to your review of the updated Fly App.

I just ordered this drone for $325, fly more kit, never flown a drone in my life. I'm educating myself as much as I can before it arrives. I just hope I don't crash or lose it in the first 15 minutes of flying it :)
@hansjas I got it on ebay but they canceled my order so I ended up buying the mini 3 for $800 at Best Buy. I like it cause you don't need to mount your phone, the remote has a screen

A bit late to the party Russ!! Glad you made it though. 😁👍😎 Yes, it looks like everything the original Mini should have been!! Will be interesting to see how the flight time compares with the original Mini? I get around 22 mins from a full charge down to the beeping low battery warning at 20%, just normal flying around while recording video and the Lithium Ion battery doesn't mind the cold at all, in fact the flight time figures are around the same in hot conditions! The Mini 2 uses a Lithium Ion Polymor 7.7v high voltage battery, so maybe thats why it didn't do quite as well as I would expect, due to the cold temps you flew? Hopefully it improves some with a few charge cycles?👍😎 I'd be interested to see if the Mini 2 props fit the Mini? 🤔 Just ordered a set of new props for my Mini, still on the original set which are about a year old now and have many flights on them! 😮🤔😁
Sold my Mini a few months ago because I felt like I was getting bored of it, but I've had the itch again and pulled the trigger on the Mini 2 because of this video. Can't wait to try it out!

I remember watching this video as I was going through trying to figure out which drone I should buy next. I had the 520s and the EX5 and I just wanted more out of a drone. I was very leary to spend that kind of cash at that time on a drone as I was accustomed to the cheaper ones. Because of your Russ way of reviewing it I instantly subscribed and felt very confident as I bought my 1st real drone the Mini 2.

I just got a Mavic Mini yesterday, but am not allowed to open it until Xmas, but after seeing the upgrades on the Mini 2, especially the ocusync 2, and given I live in a more populated area, I may now see about returning my Mavic Mini before I even open it and get the Mini 2. I figure a more solid connection is really important for safety, and enjoyment.

DJI Store Europe has some insane prices. We have to pay 561 US dollars for DJI mini 2 and 725 US dollars for more combo. It is not okay. Thanks for many great inspirational videos :)
Just purchased this bad boy. I had a Ruko F11 but the video capability only got it to around 100 meters so I am looking forward to having one that has a longer range.

Very good as usual Russ. Early in the pandemic I sold my Mavic Pro Platinum and picked up the Mavic Air 2, the mini 2's big brother, and didn't miss a beat. Of course, like you, I don't mind registering with the FAA since we can still fly recreational. I think the mini 2 is, as you said, a great starter drone. I big difference to the Spark that many of us started with. Thanks again for all you do Russ. 😀

The gimbal pointed straight down might activate a safety feature that makes sure you see what’s in front of you by slowing your drone down

Noob here, got mini 2 as first drone 2 weeks ago. I’m impressed!
Being able to shoot raw is a blessing for photo editors. Thank you DJI for this. Add ActiveTrack in the Mini 3 and your job is complete!

That rairoad bridge looks like the Highline bridge at Valley City, ND.
Now the Mini 2 can capture at 2.7k with "60 Fps"

I'm happy with my mavic mini original. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to the mini 4 or 5 whenever that comes out.
