    Oh boy! I have had a trigger thumb on the right for three months. I use a plastic splint which is great. CMC arthritis in my left thumb. I was a crochet enthusiast for years but no more. Have been doing your exercises for three months. Thank you for explaining these conditions.

    I have erosive osteoarthritis and trigger thumb. I’ve had two steroid injections that helped but don’t want to do anymore. I’m really considering trigger thumb surgery but have concerns snipping the base pulley will make my arthritic thumb more unstable. I’m doing a lot of the stretches and massage on your channel. Love your videos!!!!!

      Ooh you gave me an idea for another video! They do share some similiarities with RA but they are different.

    Do you have a program for trigger finger and arthritis since I have both in left thumb?

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a program for each of those but I do not have one that combines them together because that is not as common.

    How can you get more webspace between your thumb? Is there a brace that will help? I already had triggerthumb/cmc surgery but my handspace is shrinking. So I hope there is a splint or brace

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are web space splints but if not made correctly they will not work and in fact with overstretch or put too much pressure on the ligaments in your thumb MP joint (middle joint). The key is to work on the foundation of the thumb. Seeing a hand therapist could help since you had surgery.

    Hi, do you happen to know what is the cause of persistent redness at PIP joint middle finger? I have a good range of motion with no sharp pain. Occasionally I feel pinching feeling when I straighten my finger and burning feeling.Usually feel good in the morning and progressively get worse throughout the day. Is this a cause of synovitis?

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are many reasons for this. I would definitely see a doctor.

    With the thumb arthritis: If I didn't have pain there and after an auto accident I do (hands impacted by the gripping of the steering wheel) could that cause arthritis? Is it reversible with proper care? I'll check out the link you mention about it. I need to find if my auto insurance will be able to pay and talk with my chiropractor who is doing wonders (unjamming my wrists (which has help elevate pain .. but getting back to full time mechanic or light work hurts or reinsures it))

      Something might have been injured due to the accident. You may need a diagnosis from a doctor or trained medical professional.

    Is it common to have both cmc arthritis and trigger thumb? Thank you

      I wouldn’t say it’s common, but it can happen!

    I had surgery on my thumb fusing the last thumb joint to the first wrist bone. Since then, I cannot bend the tip of my thumb without holding the second joint in a bent position or by placing my hand as open as I possibly can face down on a hard surface. Why?

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There can be many reasons for this such as a length discrepancy of the FPL tendon, perhaps due a thumb deformity that developed afterward, or scar adhesions from the surgery. Seeing a hand therapist or hand doctor would be able to determine exactly why.

    Does thumb arthritis has anything to do with cholesterol levels ??

    • @VirtualHandCare
      @VirtualHandCare  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe there are some studies that show a correlation between cholesterol and arthritis or how it can be a risk factor.

    • @VirtualHandCare

      Yes! This is a good one! Thumb arthritis can definitely irritate and narrow the Carpal tunnel space.
