I just received my refurb Amia yesterday from BTOD. I think I like it? Out of the box, it does feel really comfy, but I haven’t had a high end office chair before, so not really sure what features are even important to me yet. My tailbone pain has been excruciating from working 10+ hour shifts at home-I’ll test it out this Monday to see if the Amia helps with it. I do find I’m wishing I had a little more upright support for my back, but not sure if I just don’t have it dialed in right. And I wish I could rock back in it more. I like the arms, though I find myself wishing they came up and forward just a little more. But again, I may need to dial in the chair settings vs the height of my desk (manual raise Husky work table). I wish I could afford to also buy a Leap and Lamia and compare all 3 chairs at once. I’m short (5’2”), but heavy (280 and working on that). …If I find that by my lunch break on Monday I don’t have tailbone pain, I’ll be absolutely thrilled.

I've had my leap v2 for over a year now and I have to say it's a really great chair. It definitely took longer than I thought it would to break in and I started to get discouraged. But now I look forward to sitting in it each day as I work from home.

the series 1 foam pad bottomed out on me after about a year of ownership wfh during the pandemic. i added an inch of foam under the pad and its been good for my tailbone since. the arms and arm rest are starting to get too much ply in them and they kind of slip like crazy. is there a way to just buy parts so we can make our own chairs?

Thanks alot BTOD. I finally picked up my first ever Steelcase today, I got the Steelcase Series 2 Air and I really love it. It's so much better than my Secretlabs Omega 2020. I got it for $500 USD brand new with 10 year warranty.

I have a leap v2 and a gesture. I had to get the gesture because I got to heavy and too wide for the leap, and I couldn't get my hands on a Leap Plus(which I noticed your video didn't mention). Overall the Gesture is a great chair, more than adequate for my size and weight, but I agree that the seat padding is very much lacking. I had to buy a supplemental seat cushion almost immediately after getting my Gesture. Other than that, both are great chairs.

    • @zarco5855
      @zarco5855 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey, can I ask what kind of seat cushion you got for the gesture? Just a regular one on Amazon? Do you just place it on top of the seat? I've had mine for a week and the seat seems to be just padded enough but I foresee needing to get a cushion in the future.

The Amia offers a better bottom cushion and the Leap v2 offers a better back support and tilt function. Otherwise, they are basically the same chair, with little to no buyers remorse.
(I personally have an Amia and so far I love it other than the back fabric pulling on my shirt, so I use a pillow case covering the back.)

I ordered an Amia from BTOD in January and ended up returning it. The seat pad was a 10/10, but the backrest was too squishy for me and wouldn't "lock" in a middle spot. I'm used to a chair with a little wiggle slop in the locked upright position.
I was able to try a Leap last week and instantly fell in love with the backrest. The multi stop lock for reclining is just what I needed. The seat pad was extremely comfortable as well, I'm not worried about tailbone pain at all. Ordered a refurb leap from BTOD last week and I'm just anxiously waiting for it to arrive next week.
I love how the lamia looks too, but it was out of stock by the time I tried a leap, and the prime day sale BTOD had on the leap was too good to pass on.

Tried Please chair some days ago. It is really great, solid and supportive on the lumbar: the "double" tilt function is amazing, i felt supported on the back even reclined, but wasnt aggressive.
Every chair must be tested by ourself and the Please chair gave me a "WOW effect".
Of course i tried a couple of minutes, cant tell really much more. Is an European exclusive tho.

@@vinciux oh now it makes sense that there is no video.
My gf is using the Please 2 on her work, but she's really not that much into chairs. What most people say is that you have to finagle all the twists and turns for you to be OK since its not comfortable but rather fully ergonomic and meant to keep you in a healthy posture.

@@VicStrange9 i tested the Please for 3/5 minutes, so i cant have a clear opinion about. But i tried series 2 and Think too and the Please was, at least for me, superior in both comfort and support.

Gesture +1 for headrest and lumber support

I am considering Gesture because it's cheaper but now I'm not certain because of seat padding, that would be a deal breaker.

I'm stuck between choosing Karman or Gesture. I prefer the Karman because I move a lot and overheat fast, but I'm used to having a headrest. Gesture sounds like an option because it has a headrest, but I have a sensitive tailbone which sounds like it could be problematic on the Gesture
