    How to replace blower motor
    In this car ac repair video we explain how to make this easy car AC repair of the AC blower motor fan wheel, which is a likely culprit when you have a car ac not blowing air. This will save you hundreds of dollars in repairs at the service shop or car dealer, since you can perform this easy fix yourself if you have a blower motor not working.
    How to replace a car blower motor
    We will show you a bad ac fan blower in action making a horrible blower motor noise on a Lexus GX470 SUV, similar to a Toyota 4Runner SUV. Of course this could be similar on many other vehicles as well. If your car AC blower motor is not working, we'll show you how to replace your ac blower motor when you have an ac blower motor not working.
    When your car AC blower motor fan wheel breaks, your blower motor won't work, which usually results in a loud bouncing grinding noise, because the motor fan wheel has separated from its hub and the spindle is just pinning in place, causing the plastic wheel to just bounce around inside the housing.
    Replacing air blower for car
    The car blower motor repair is simple, usually involves just removing the dash kick panel from the passenger side, exposing the car AC blower motor assembly. Then typically 3 hex head/T25 Torx head screws hold the motor into place. Just undo those 3 bolts and screw in the new blower and reconnect the power cable to it and you are good to go with your AC blower motor car repair! No more blower motor noise.

    Hi, I have helped a friend replace his car's blower motor...the original blower fan blade has a clip on it. But the new blower motor blade does not have a clip on it. Would I need to remove the clip and put it on the new blower fan blade?

    Can you tell me the best way to clean the area above the filter? I had a mouse nest there and I can see lots of debris that needs to be removed and cleaned. It’s very hard to access. I can send you pics of that helps.

    • @carbuying

      Depending on where the filter is, there are crevice tools you can try feed up there to vacuum it out, or if you can pull out an AC vent to feed the hose down to the are, that would be another thing to try.

    I have a Lexus ES 350 2008. If my blower works intermittently and can often be started by giving the dashboard a hard hit just above the vents or under the glove box, or sometimes it won’t start with the hit but will start the next day. Could it just be a matter of lubricating the blower? I mean this is 2019 so my car purchased 2007 is now 12 years old.

    • @carbuying
      @carbuying  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the age of the blower it could just be the start of going downhill further. You might check the wiring harness connection first to see if it is loose, but if it checks out, probably needs a new blower.

    Hi very late here but I have a 2011 Dodge Caliber and heat works very well however the AC doesn’t blow cold air AT ALL but does blow hot air. I took it to go get looked at and was told that everything regarding my AC was working EXCEPT that my AC blower fan wasn’t spinning or working. They didn’t know whether it was a fuse or the blower fan needed to be replaced.
    I haven’t checked it myself yet but will do so in the morning but If I replace this blower motor fan as you showed, do you think it would fix the issue and I would have cold air again?

    • @carbuying

      I always thought there was one blower fan for heat and AC. Did you get it resolved?

  • @candyhearts3581
    @candyhearts3581 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have a question that heat is turned all the way up and I hear a noise coming from it does that mean it's just the fan or the motor is blown

    • @carbuying
      @carbuying  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is likely the fan, but does it also do the same thing cranked all the way up in AC Mode? If not, could be something else, because the fan is the same fan in both modes.

    Dp you know of any aftermarket companies that make high powered blower motors? Or maybe do you know if the Japanese just make stronger blower motors? The one in my Dodge Ram is incredibly weak and it's brand new

    • @carbuying
      @carbuying  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Doc, unlikely the is your blower motor, they usually make those motors to blow pretty good and strong. When was the last time you changed your cabin air filter? That can slow down air flow. Are you sure the controls are opening the diverter correctly? That could impede airflow as well. Or maybe your fax is just ready to go and a new Ram motor will work fine.

    for my 2015 Lexus rc f my ac/heater works its a just the dash vents don't blow any air the bottom feet vents do. Do you think it could be due to the motor? (mine doesn't make any weird noises) if not could it be a fuse? Edit: I think it might be the Solenoid...

    • @jeffostroff
      @jeffostroff 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Pulverrized If you hear it trying to spin but yet you can't feel any forced year coming out from anywhere, than likely the blower cage has come separated off of the motor spindle as we showed in this video in which case you would replace it. Now if you do find that the air is blowing somewhere then we have also heard in the past about the baffle door that's inside the dash area somewhere that controls where all the air flows so if that door becomes stuck closed or open or in the wrong direction then it won't Allow any of the force to air coming out of the blower to channel to the correct Vince, and so it would trick you into thinking there something wrong with the blower when in fact it's the baffle door.

    This broke on my wife's Lexus ES350 (i believe, haven't checked yet, but it sounds like a card in a bicycle wheel) right after a terrible odor came from that area. Is that associated with this? smells like burnt mildew..

    • @carbuying

      It could be the blower, although usually when it goes there is some rattling noise, because the center part of it is stripped, preventing the blower from moving. Also check the cabin air filter. If you have computer controlled climate in your car, you might need a technician to check it out.
