Your video on replacing the motor resistor and/or blower is the best educational video on this subject. I need not only to replace one or the other, but I need to understand the "why" before I begin. Thanks for uploading!
Thanks. Appreciate the comment on efficacy of aftermarket resistors. Many videos imply only OEM stuff works well, but it’s nice to know about things that are fine as aftermarket replacements.
Youre amazing ! You saved us a lot of money and taught us how to fix my car ! Thank you for posting this video with so much detail and also teaching us about the ac / heater unit in it's whole. We are so thankful for you !
Good info for all of us D.I.Y guys…. With that being do research on your make and model.. sensor locations,Relays,Fuses. Invest in a scan tool for your make model also not all work for every vehicle. Anything to do with electrical you might wanna disconnect the negative terminal before disconnecting any sensor. I read the comments before I write my opinion. There’s so many other issues that could cause this Relays,Fuses, alternator,Blend door actuator, engine coolant sensor. Dust, moisture, is the curse lol. Try not to turn the switch on and off like the radio. And in the summer don’t keep your ac on all day everyday in this stop and go world we drive in. The only time I put my ac on is the first start after sitting for more then 6-8 hours for a min or 2. If u did take the time to read this remember it’s not always plug and play. Good luck and hope the best for you and if you ever see me at a red light we do the head nod on green we go!!
I'm having a problem with intermittent failure on the blower motor I believe, it's a 2003 Chevy S10 22 and when I switch it to Max AC from the off position sometimes it'll just turn off and then turn back on if I put the switch back to off and on it'll come back on. I already swapped out with a new climate control switch, this blower motor is not even that old and I've changed the resistor before.
A HVAC Blower motor kept running. When High Power Fuse 60 Amperes fuse pulled out, Blower Motor kept running (Ignition Side Fuse) Blower Motor Fuse never blew, only Ignition or Engine fan 60 Amps. Burnt. Blew too (?) Switched fuse, it still worked with one but brown burn mark at fuse box. Inline under dash didnt blow or any other small interior fuses stayed connected. Why did Blower Motor fuse not burn out but 2 other high power fuses (60 Amperes ea.) Had blown. Car doesnt start after fuses blown. Relay replaced. Thank you if you have equated answer. Am checking we wirings and Air Conditioner needs to be replaced. Condenser out, but not clutch. Coyld that cause short with fan(s) circulatory system?
Thank you so much. I was all over the web trying to just locate the blower motor resistor on my 2019 Ford Edge. One finally showed me but your site actually answered questions for me about replacing it. Again, thank you.
I have a heating problem. 2011 Chevy Malibu. Blower motor doesn't turn on until I unplug the resistor and plug it back in. Should I replace the resistor?
My 2003 trailblazer is going through this same thing like my air or heat doesn’t turn on when I turn the knob but if I’m on the highway it seeps through my vent automatically while I’m hiring my gas but if I hit on brakes it stop immediately
Hi there, I really appreciate your channel. Thank you for helping to educate us on these issues. I have my first car, a nice Jeep. I want to take care of it the right way. I also think I'm hearing a Polish accent maybe? Reminds me of a friend from my school days, he was from Poland as well. 😊
All these resistor videos all say the same thing in the end: it's a good idea to replace the blower motor and the resistor at the same time. So why waste time watching them? Chances are you'll procrastinate about fixing the problem and the failed resistor will burn out the motor. I'm getting in my car now and going to auto zone! 😆
Hey. I don't know if you remember me but anyway, I see that you work on cars. I had a question. My rear blower motor fan always spins on low even if I turn the dial to high on the dashboard. So no AC in the back. I replaced the resistor but that didn't fix it. What else could it be? I have a 2007 Toyota Sienna CE
Good day my Toyota wish 2011 blower motor not working....3 wires connected to the resistor.....ground in 1 but nothing in the other 2....why?..can you help
sorry, I've been watching you for a long time on TH-cam, could you tell me where the resistor is located on the land rover sport l494 2014bj, thank you
Hi, I watched your video. And I just want to say thank you! Your explanation and guidance was much appreciated. The Mechanic said, I need both and the cost will be $450. I understand and respect the mechanics labor but the cost of the blower motor and reinstator isn't nearly that expensive. Does the 450 seem reasonable to you?
Labor costs for rapirs is getting outrageous. The two parts you're talking about are fairly easy to replace. I would get the parts and do it myself. You learn how to do it and save yourself a decent amount of money.
😢I replaced mine no problem, didn’t fix the issue. Still got high speed only. After my heater core failed-leaked in cabin, I did the by pass fix, and the speeds failed a day later.🤔🤷♂️
Hey, would be nice if you could help out with an issue I've been having on my 2006 Note E11, the fan used to be sporadic but one day it just completely died, I've tested the motor and it's working, but when I measure the voltage coming to the fan motor, it seems low (around 8-11V, no matter how high or low the fan speed is set on the climate control), to add to it, the fan was changed a while ago and it didn't fix the issue, could it definitively be the resistor card?
Great video explaination. I have a 2009 f150 platinum and my fan blower acts weird that I haven't heard elsewhere as symptoms. The fan works in heat mode and Ac mode at all levels and any no problem. The issue I hear by it and see, is that it runs with an up down speed as if there was an overload power on it. When I put high beams on it dims the interior light and the fan goes slower and fast every 2 secs. Same goes when I click the high beams off. Or when it's in idle or driving. On the lowest speed it doesn't affect it. But as I turn the speed up it starts doing that. Almost like an alternative DC motor at different RPM sound. Any suggestions based on your experience and expertise. Thank you. I get all the heat and all the cold I want at any speed dial. Well mine is a fisical push button and alternative with 8" touch screen or I can speak to it as well to control it.
@@RaunoNasir hello rauno , no I haven't. It may be just not good grounding. I will have to check the motor strap grounding. May be warn a bit and not giving good contact. Can also be the new alternator that was installed and not tighten enough for a ground bond at 100%. But will be checking on it soon. Just haven't been around for a while. But truck still runs as normal besides that overload power I explained earlier. Thanks for checking in. I couldn't find this thread I posted untill I had a reply.

Hello, great video, i have two issues can you maybe help? So first thing is when the climate control is set to 16°c its blowing out warm air rather than the cool air you would expect at 16°c, when i put it down to LO it goes cold fine. Second issue is with the AC turn on and on LO setting the recirculation button keeps stopping and working again when its on ac working fine when its off it doesnt feel like the ac is on and goes warmer again. Are you able to advice if this is also the blower resistor? Ive been to halfords and asked them to check the ac gas and its giving them and error so they cant do anything else. Yes, as far as I can see, the resistor is available as a spare part, so it can be replaced.

Did you find out the problem? I have the same.
Probably the blend door actuator, do research though. Its a bitch to replace if it is
