Really impressed with your chipping around the green - you have turned it into a real strength. Driver is now really going - you seem to be driving 190-200 average (and in play) now versus maybe around 160 a few months back - awesome job!
I have much to learn from this guy. Seeing him hitting hybrids from 140 yds+ and still breaks 90 all the time, really makes up the point of scoring = Short game, and keep the ball in play its what its all about. Entertaining videos ! Keep up

Could not agree with you more. Short Game!! that`s where the high handicap golfer`s solution lie... Where I stay we have a lovely little mashie course and I have taken a vow to never set foot on a big course again until I can shoot a par 27 on the mashie.... Only 7 over at this stage....🤣🤣
Well it’s a par 69 course so technically he would he shot the equivalent of a 90 on a traditional par 72 course lol Still, your point remains valid. Short game is something that anyone can get good at. Dropped my handicap into single digits simply by working hard on my short game 👌🏽

Well done, the tee game allows you to get close to the handicap with no penalties, the lack of distance from the fairways holds you back on the longer par 4 holes, but really tidy from the 100 yard range and the best I’ve seen from you around the greens. keep it up

Just stumbled across this video and it was really great to watch a good golfer play a nice relaxed round! I’ve just started golf, I started last summer so I just play of +36 for now (although I’ve haven’t really kept official scores)…looking forward to getting out and playing (hopefully improving) again
I never had a putting lesson (as you can probably tell by the bad technique). I just go by feel and following through especially on the longer putts seems to work! Thanks for watching

Great round, it’s uncanny who similar your rounds are to mine, I’d bet most mid caps have the same experience, I’m in great company. Keep up the good work.
Really nice vid. Well done. You have some real strengths: steady off the tee, excellent chipping, confident putter (past the hole vast majority of time). One kit suggestion: at your swing speed/consistency, hitting 4 wood off the deck is v tough. Try a 7 wood. You’ll find it much more consistent and - on average - will travel further.
Really enjoyed that and got me motivated for today’s game. Could have been a much lower score too with just that one hole casing issues (there’s always at least one every time I play too)

I am a novice golfer, having only played for the last two summers. there is no winter golf here in Canada! I enjoy your videos as they present a more realistic aspiration than most others, I do notice you take a very short backswing on your driver and don't turn your hips much, I assume you are going for straight rather than far, I am 71 years old and hit much farther than you do, but not as straight, certainly something to concentrate on this year.
Watching these videos makes me wanna move to wales from Canada. It's a hell of a lot cheaper. looks amazing. The Golf courses are not that expensive and they look great.

Hello,watching your games from Finland. I think your drivers a lot better then 15 handicap. I am not good handicap but I love golf also. Every year I proved my score, And to day I will play first round in real course , so exciting ❤️😁
Your putting has improved tremendously sir. Lots of one putts in this round, or, even more impressive to me, getting nearly all your long putts close to the hole and having tap-ins for the second putt. I can only dream of 2-putting most holes. I'm lucky if I can 3-putt. So, great job on the putting sir. And to put it in perspective, how you played hole 5 would be a completely typical hole for me. Cheers!

Enjoying watching your videos. If I can give you a tip watch the 3rd and 4th shots on the 6th hole. You’re speed and commitment on the 4th shot is much better than the 3rd shot and you get such a better result. Keep it up buddy.

With regards to the "flier", I don't think it's something you should be worrying about at this point in time. Watching your videos I can't remember seeing you hit a full shot beyond the green (usually short and right), so a "flier" could help not hinder. Anyway keep up the good work, always a pleasure to watch your efforts.
I changed my driver grip. I choke down a lot on the hosel now and it is much more consistent and doesn't lose that much distance. It's definitely not standard and this is one area I want to work on with lessons in the future. Thanks for watching

Can I ask how you are getting more distance (I could be wrong here) by gripping down the hosel? Is it the better form that does it? Again, amazing improvement since before Xmas. Keep it up!

New swing is looking great James, I'm 4 holes in and no big banana left to right shots 👍👍👍... Right back to the vlog 👍 Dammit! Me and my bug mouth!!! The fifth was a bit of a knocker James but you stabilised yourself pretty quickly and got back on track 👍 Putting very well the new methodology is certainly working...lag it close rather than charge it by 29 putts is excellent play, plus there were a couple that could've dropped for you on a different day. Keep up with that new swing it's definitely straightening you out. Ending up three under level fives is excellent, you'd have been jumping up and down if you'd shot that five months ago. That you understand where you could've saved shots shows your improvement and the time you're putting in to getting better. Summer will soon be here and courses generally play easier then, your scores should hopefully tumble 🤞🤞🤞
Cheers Kent, I had the speed of the greens down on this day. This helped so much with confidence standing over a putt. 15-20 mins on the putting green is now mandatory before every round. Really good insight for a lot of players trying to break 100. You have a good manner about your game. The only thing I might suggest is some strategic choices, like the 3rd hole, perhaps not always using driver off the tee ? Other than that, well done

Great round! Other than that 8, it was so solid - I thought you were going to drop those long putts on 7 and 15. You seem to be playing harder courses and playing more aggressively, which is fun to see.

I have 2 targets for starting each round right now: the first is to enjoy the round (as that's what I'm there for primarily) and the 2nd is to try and break 90. You play with control albeit not a huge hitter, a much better golfer than me probably by 10-15 shots. I noticed you didn't over hit many shots - was that on purpose because of the tight course? I find as a 24 HCP I often don't take enough club. Thanks!

I'm curious as to what golf app and shot tracing / tracking app you use. They give a much better idea as to how you're hitting the ball and the trajectory. Love your short game - it's my nemesis just now :-(
Good start to the round, 200 yard drives make it easier, putting well also helps.. Looking forward to watching how you play in nicer weather....and whether faster greens will give a bigger challenge. Keep up the hard work, results are improving.

Enjoying watching your videos. If I can give you a tip watch the 3rd and 4th shots on the 6th hole. You’re speed and commitment on the 4th shot is much better than the 3rd shot and you get such a better result. Keep it up buddy.

With regards to the "flier", I don't think it's something you should be worrying about at this point in time. Watching your videos I can't remember seeing you hit a full shot beyond the green (usually short and right), so a "flier" could help not hinder. Anyway keep up the good work, always a pleasure to watch your efforts.
The difference in your driving since before Xmas is phenomenal!
I changed my driver grip. I choke down a lot on the hosel now and it is much more consistent and doesn't lose that much distance. It's definitely not standard and this is one area I want to work on with lessons in the future. Thanks for watching
@@notaperfectgolfer3489 Fair play. I know what you mean as I actually traded in my driver for a "Mini Driver" to try and up the consistency. Can I ask how you are getting more distance (I could be wrong here) by gripping down the hosel? Is it the better form that does it? Again, amazing improvement since before Xmas. Keep it up!

Dammit! Me and my bug mouth!!! The fifth was a bit of a knocker James but you stabilised yourself pretty quickly and got back on track 👍
Putting very well the new methodology is certainly working...lag it close rather than charge it by 29 putts is excellent play, plus there were a couple that could've dropped for you on a different day.
Keep up with that new swing it's definitely straightening you out.
Ending up three under level fives is excellent, you'd have been jumping up and down if you'd shot that five months ago. That you understand where you could've saved shots shows your improvement and the time you're putting in to getting better. Summer will soon be here and courses generally play easier then, your scores should hopefully tumble 🤞🤞🤞
Cheers Kent, I had the speed of the greens down on this day. This helped so much with confidence standing over a putt. 15-20 mins on the putting green is now mandatory before every round.
I was happy with the score overall all things considered.

Really good insight for a lot of players trying to break 100. You have a good manner about your game. The only thing I might suggest is some strategic choices, like the 3rd hole, perhaps not always using driver off the tee ? Other than that, well done

I've only watched the first two holes, but you're crushing your driver!
I just got down to a 16 for me it was all focus and attitude play every shot as it's important and make sure if you hi a bad one don't give up
Great round! Other than that 8, it was so solid - I thought you were going to drop those long putts on 7 and 15. You seem to be playing harder courses and playing more aggressively, which is fun to see.

Some really good putting there James. Always remember the search for a lower handicap is a marathon not a sprint. I don’t see you take many practice swings, maybe something to consider? Keep up the good work 👍👍

I have 2 targets for starting each round right now: the first is to enjoy the round (as that's what I'm there for primarily) and the 2nd is to try and break 90.
Future goals are to improve the swing and break 85 but they can wait for a few months.

Enjoyed this thank you and appreciate you being brave enough to share this. A tricky course by the look of it. You've taught me a lot. You play with control albeit not a huge hitter, a much better golfer than me probably by 10-15 shots. I noticed you didn't over hit many shots - was that on purpose because of the tight course? I find as a 24 HCP I often don't take enough club. Thanks!
CHeers Daniel, yeah I try not to over swing for the most part, it hurts more than it helps.
My driver goes 180-210 yards and relatively straight so this course was almost perfect for me on this day. Thanks for watching and good luck with your rounds in 2022! :-)

Well done mate....another course to play in North Wales for me
His short game is very accurate which makes up for his lack of distance, i think I need to learn from him as I hit further but happy if I break 100.
I'm curious as to what golf app and shot tracing / tracking app you use. They give a much better idea as to how you're hitting the ball and the trajectory. Love your short game - it's my nemesis just now :-(

Good start to the round, 200 yard drives make it easier, putting well also helps.. Looking forward to watching how you play in nicer weather....and whether faster greens will give a bigger challenge. Keep up the hard work, results are improving.

You should replay this course in its summer form! It’s so much more narrow when the trees are full of leaves
