    just used my timberpro to drop and buck a 30 inch hardwood. the second chain gave up toward the end and had to get a new chain and the 76 link chain is only available on line. Went to big box retailer and picked up a husqvarna bar and chain and paid a premium for it but... the saw performed much better and i can source chains at any hardware store. Even a plunge cut is easier. 20 inch chain # H 30-80 bar #HLN 250-80 make sure it is .325 pitch.

      @Lanninglongarmmowing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That bar and chain probably cost almost as much as the entire saw itself. Lol. You pay dearly for name brand stuff. I buy all my chains online. Oregon does make a chain for these saws.

      The timberpro saws I found an amazon and ebay are holding at $200 (what I paid last year) and after a year of cutting down and bucking trees on my property I didn't mind making a $75 investment to keep it working well and more importantly safe. For S&Gs maybe do a side by side with the same set up especially plunge cuts. It is the only chainsaw I own and it has saved me thousands in tree service.
      In full disclosure I did use a rope saw over many weeks to top the tree because it was within striking distance of my home and other trees my wife didn't want damaged but when the limbs hit the ground the timberpro made short work of them (original chain). Last year my wife said "get the chainsaw you want" and I shopped and for the amount I would use it I couldn't justify $500-$600 for a saw. $200 for a saw and much money left over for PPE (I have a dear friend and mentor cut his leg) and a fiskars splitting ax SOLD! Yes after bucking the tree I split the logs (by hand) so my kids could move them to the wood pile. Thanks for your videos the info in them me pull the trigger on the saw. If you don"t have a fiskars splitting ax get one.... everything else will rust in your garage. subscribed...

    My favorite thing about these videos are, 1. I learn about saws that I may have never heard of. 2. The comments, by that Ive been reading GREAT things from the guys that actually own timberpro. 3. This guy is thorough and uses what he can afford and seems to be doing well at it.

    I have a Timberpro 62cc, second season and very happy with it. Is it a Husqvarna clone? Was looking at aftermarket Husky rebuild kits for the future.

      I have a Timberpro 62cc. The all orange one. These are clones/copies of Zenoah or Redmax, I think Japanese, saws. There are a lot of variations from the Chinese market, many being 52cc, some 58cc. I've personally had 4 or 5 now. All based on the same design but from different manufacturers, most parts are interchangeable. They're not a bad entry level saw if you put a domestic bar and chain on them.

    I've enjoyed your chain saw videos. Thanks! I have almost four heavily wooded acres to maintain about halfway up a bluff line in suburbia. Very rough terrain with few flat areas near the house. I got a Timberpro basic saw to deal with some larger old growth trees I had to have cut down after some county road work harmed their root systems. My vintage Homelite that I still love couldn't handle their size. Oaks, 2 sycamores and a mimosa. Saw has worked great so far. I had to adjust the carb once (thanks to another video here I know how to do it right). That cleared up a starting issue that developed and lets me set it down and it would idle half the day just fine.
    I am female and on the slender side, but this saw is easy to handle. Did my first slab attempt with it yesterday, and it worked out fine. Through eight or nine inches of sycamore that was solid wood. People can complain about the nation of manufacture all they want. These are decent saws. Little touches that you may not notice for a while, but will appreciate if you've worked around tools for long. Got dark too soon since winter is approaching now, but I'll finish those slabs hopefully before if gets too cold. I am a cold wuss! Hopefully, I'll have a new computer desk and bookcases from these trees. Have to honor those old downed friends by using their wood. I just wonder why I still have all of these leaves around the house to rake with three of them gone! Looking forward to more videos from you.

      After going through these comments, which are quite typical whenever someone has an opinion in their videos here, any opinion at all by the way, I'd have to ask these folks if they buy anything at Wal-Mart. If so, they already buy Chinese goods. They actually own our soul already if product sales and stocking are an indication. I ride a Harley and HD snobs seem to not realize even those are not American made any longer. Tool snobs are no different. That's the thing with folks who REALLY get into something and know it well. They do not snob up at a brand name. Witness those cussing at their Harley or Stihl because they won't start. LOL

    • @Lanninglongarmmowing
      @Lanninglongarmmowing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed them. Once the trees roots are harmed its tough to get the tree back to how it was originally. I don't think I have ever had to adjust the carb on the timberpro saws. I enjoy chainsaw milling. It takes a lot of time though. There are not many things that are truly made in America anymore.

    The scrench attachment is brilliant. Chain oil leaks can be ignored for as long as the chain is adequately oiled. That said I've got 11 years and a hundred gallons of gas thru my husqvarna 455 and I'm now on my 3rd bar with 2 machined bar good and worn out. I wish you luck with these Chinese saws I really do but I have doubts regards their value at any price as I really doubt you'll go 50 gallons with either saw.
    I did have vent problems with both 455 ' s however which I consider a huge nuisance so kudos to you on conquering that problem .

    Really interesting series of videos on these saws. They're rarely covered on TH-cam, with most obsessing about the big-name brands. Am a long-term saw user and have always wondered about how cheaper saws compared, though never had the gumption to get one ... until now. The 62cc Timperpro arrived recently, so am looking forward to objectively forming an opinion. Have to say, early impressions are good. For the price, it stacks up extraordinarily well. Getting parts may be a problem but am hoping if it's maintained and taken care of, it'll keep on ticking away. The only thing I'm immediately looking to change are the chains [and possible bar configurations]; would also like to see what alternative drive sprockets will fit, if any. Thanks for your effort and time you put into sharing your own experience and expertise. No need to be modest: You have both in spades.

      Or at least on eBay UK. They must be available on eBAy US as well. They are pretty generic Chinese chainsaw parts. TimberPro is a UK/US reimporter/brander, and they have a good rep.

    The Pro model looks like it has better engine cooling via more venting area, looks way better than the homeowner model. And agree with you that the air filter on the pro model should be a paper-style filter like the big name brands have.

  • @1d1hamby
    @1d1hamby 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The pro-pro is newer than the home-pro so you'll have to take that into consideration when comparing them. Need to try and get them both up to the same hours. Now is the best time to do some milling with the nice cool weather. Did you get any logs from when the professionals took down some trees by the deck and wires? Do you have logs ready to be milled? Keep up the great work.

      Eliot Yang not when it's recommended fuel ratio is 25:1.

      40:1 is 1960's.

    • @evojigger
      @evojigger 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fuel ratio has nothing to do with the saw, its to do with the fact it may be used with a crap quality 2 stoke oil so they say 25:1 to be on the safe side, these saws run much much better on good quality oil at 50 or 40:1.

    Stay awy from Stihl 261. My Stihl 261 broke down after only 3 years of cutting firewood. Stihl said it was my fault because I didnt use the Stihl oil and alcylat gasoline! 026 was a much more robust saw and I had one for allmost 20 years and used shell oil and 95 gas mixed 2%. Not happy with the Stihl 261 and Stihl support.Warranty dont count if you dont use Stihls own oil or alcylatgas

I asked for refund or replacement. This what he said, "We will not be providing you with a refund for this order as it is clear that the damage to the brake is from misuse. Why should we refund you if the damage is caused by you? Would you see this as fair if the point of view was reversed."

      Randell, with the parts you need, try searching ebay for the bits, these chinese saws tend to use generic parts, try searching for "45cc oil pump chainsaw" or what ever cc yours is (all the same saw, just the piston and cylinder are bigger/smaller) or "chinese chainsaw oil pump", and try and find one that looks the same, can be bought for a few $. sod paying the amount for timber pro parts. Just as an example, if you buy in bulk from china, these saws complete can be bought for less than $10 a unit, so them wanting that amount for the parts is a joke.

      I do need a sawmill. A band saw mill is a lot faster than chainsaw milling and it takes less fuel to make each cut plus there is less kerf too. I don't think the band saw mill I would buy would be more of a machine than I need. Ive researched used bandsaw mills and there doesn't seem to be many for sale in my area. Will have to check out your website.

When this saw bites the dust, just save up a little and go buy an Echo cs-590 for $399. A true pro grade saw should last 1,000 hours before a top end rebuild. I've never spent anywhere near $400 on one saw. I got 2 saws for less than the price of just 1 echo. It was more like $368 for both saws. If I were to break one of these saws its not $400 down the drain or take the saw to my "local authorized service dealer" and probably spend just about half of what the saw is worth to rebuild it. I'd just go buy a brand new timber pro. Then I get a new saw. Echo does make some nice saws but not for my budget and power needs.

      Perhaps I have been cutting wood now for 4 seasons with the Orange timberpro 6150 the 62cc model of his orange one. I also go out and cut cords or wood with my in laws this saw has held up. They cut with Husq Chainsaw ,and what I have come to conclude is it as much the operator how well the saw is taken care of and how good you are at maintenance if a saw last runs well and succeeds at the job! Also we cut hedge for building Cattle Fence lots of hedge and if a saw holds up to that it is good in my book whether it is a stihl, echo, husq, or timberpro!

      HighVoltage Ampere No thank you. I would rather take that money and spend it on a sawmill, not a chainsaw. Lol.
