  • This is the first ever startup of this saw that I know of on TH-cam and it's my first start up of this saw also.
    It seems to run good and starts in a few pulls. It should start better when it hasn't been ran out of gas from the factory to eliminate any fuel problems while it is being sold.
    Sorry for the dark video. I will try to not film so late in the next videos of this saw.
    Link to buy:
    www.timberpro-uk.com/timberpro...
    Hope everyone has enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching. Be sure to check to my channel in the future for more videos on this saw.
    Thanks for watching!!!

    These are great saws for spring summer and fall. But the plastic gets hard and brittle in freezing temperatures.

    All saws start that easy in the summer. Now lets see a video when it's 0 degrees outside. I only cut wood in the winter.

      @m998hmmwv7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The plastic gets hard and brittle in freezing temperatures. These can take a lot of abuse in warmer climates but need to treat it more gingerly in the winter. Starting is not a problem.

    Do you run gas with Ethanol in your saws? Just bought a Timberpro 62cc and am wondering if I need to blend some avgas in.

    The way you cut the foil seal on your bar oil jug is the same way I've done all my oil, coolant, etc, jugs for many years with ONE exception.
    I cut a slit through the foil, AT THE TOP.
    It allows air in, to reduce/prevent "burping".
    Try it, you'll like it.
    If you cut out a little less of the foil at the bottom, and cut a slit at the top, you get a very effective baffle for pouring.

    These are not pro grade saws. They are copies of pro grade saws in line with the price of a cheap Walmart Poulan. Lot more saw for the money but better compared to a $150 Poulan than a much more expensive Husky or Stihl. They do have comparable power to the larger pro grade saws however. I have had 2 of them. Last was a 52cc that I let someone borrow and they were kind enough to straight gas for me. It was 3 years old and would have kept going. Recently replaced with a 62cc version. Nice upgrade, starts in a couple pulls and I run it with a .50"x.325 18" Husquvarna bar and full chisel Oregon chain. It's easier to get than the .58" chain. Since I use a chainsaw a couple times a year or less it makes little sense to own one more expensive

  • @thefirewooddoctor
    @thefirewooddoctor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those chainsaws are tuned pretty good from the factory. My little TimberPro top-handle chainsaw started just as easily out of the box. Am giving serious thought to selling my Husqvarna 390xp to buy this chainsaw and get some other tools for the woods.

      Joseph Petrillo I have that saw with a new 24" bar, two chains. Plus the Granberg small-log with mini-mill, 20" bar and two ripping chains. Emissions tag says 2012 emissions levels. I have a price in mind, make an offer on the package or pieces.

    • @josephpetrillo2243
      @josephpetrillo2243 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no need for the milling equipment. How old is the saw. How much use?

    • @thefirewooddoctor
      @thefirewooddoctor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joseph Petrillo Is up for sale locally for $575 with the new bar and two chains. One chain is new in box, other chain has one tank of fuel on it. Got the saw used so no idea how much use there is on it. Used that chainsaw in a chainsaw shootout video on my channel.

      Ed Preece He got a good deal on those chappes, came as a package deal with the helmet he's wearing. Since is not Husqvarna or Stihl branded gear, is a lot cheaper even if is the same level of quality.

    What i find odd about this new saw you purchased is it says it is 3.5hp and is 62cc yet my stihl ms261c is only 50.2cc and is listed at 4.0hp Why is your saw so much bigger displacement yet less power? That makes no sense not to mention it weighs 5 pounds more. I am not knocking timberpro or anything just curious as to why cheaper saws boast such high displacement but don't produce the same hp as smaller and more expensive saws. Some sort of higher compression ratio or something?

    • @josephpetrillo2243
      @josephpetrillo2243 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LadyTowerMoon my echo cs 590 is 59 cc and has 3.9 hp. Plus my jonsered 2188 is 88.9 cc and its 6.5 hp saw. Wtf?

    • @thefirewooddoctor
      @thefirewooddoctor 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      LadyTowerMoon My educated guess is a combination of lower compression, rpm, and porting. TimberPro is not a bad saw for the money, I have their top-handle model.

    • @rickyward7836
      @rickyward7836 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say only guessing this would have to do with compression. Also chinese made (not knoking chinese chainsaw (i own one it works ok)) compared to german.

      Jeffrey Beyer would you think you can port a timberpro saw? Would it run better?

    • @thefirewooddoctor
      @thefirewooddoctor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      David Beck Honestly, no idea if porting will work like it does on other brand of chainsaws.

    The new saw is a true 62cc clone of the Redmax 621avs which like your saw had an outboard sprocket and a case integrated chain brake. Also the case is different from the earlier saws based on the Redmax G5000 series which is the parent design for many Chinese clone chainsaws. The muffler attachment on the 62cc redmax clones are different as well as the air filter, carb (larger), and the intake manifold. The 621 clone has no impulse line as it is integral to the cylinder, manifold, and carb mount. Just one hose feeding gas from the tank while the smaller CC G5000 series clones have two lines on the smaller carb. The 621 Redmax clone is much strong because the G5000 is likely no larger than 55CC .. the G5000 series was never made in 58CC or 62cc ... the Chinese are great liars

    Why do people insist on running there saws 40to 1 you can't hurt a saw on 25 to 1 the cleanest saws I ever worked on ran 25 to 1. I ran my own business selling Stihl and Husqvarnas for 17 years sold and repair thousand of saws, do yourself and your saw a favor feed it oil.

    • @georgedavall9449
      @georgedavall9449 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrong
      Most all good modern saws recommend 50:1. I personally run at around 45:1. Older saws and OPE recommended 20/25:1, but theses newer oils are much better, as well as the engines.
      I just pulled the muffler on my 16 year old Husqvarna, and the piston was practically spotless! You could still see the honing marks from the manufacturing. Absolutely no scoring! And that saw has cut a lot of wood. Running a modern saw at the ratio you suggest, will actually cause a lean condition, and will do more harm than good. But to each their own, and YMMV. Peace
