@@jamescarlsen2789 A replacement battery for one of the newer pure EVs (not a hybrid) will likely exceed $20,000 + installation. “As we transition” like they attempted in Europe and now are in dire straits, these are our representatives? God help us
Who in Europe is in "dire straits"?
Being from Pete Stauber’s district I feel my vote for him was well placed. Thank you Pete Stauber.
As we all know, this is political theatre. As entertaining as this may be watching 'mayor' Pete squirm, this questioning will change nothing. It's a ruse designed to have the appearance that accountability matters. Good public policy which benefits constituents is a demand that must be a condition of continued support for elected officials. Lip service and sound bites are not enough. The American people deserve so much better. Fight for it. Your mileage may vary.
the grandstanding and not letting the witness speak is a way to make their cult member constituents happy. You successfully attack someone from the other side I will vote for you again!!!!! Don't care if the shouting buffoon talking over the witness actually passes any helpful bills
The Secretary is being assaulted with lies...
Facts! Love it!
We should force Ford to make the 300ci inline 6 engine. No it won't break any speed records but it also doesn't make enough power to break itself. They last forever.
I found that was a real good engine.
Does GM still make the 6 cylinder engine that was in the early/mid 2000s Trailblazers. I absolutely abuses mine and I put nearly 250k on it, and it was still going strong a few years ago before I sold it. Should force GM to bring that back too.
Chrysler could make the slant six if they actually wanted an engine that doesnt break.
My dad’s loved that motor He said they lasted forever. I’m more into the V8 myself though I like something that sounds good to.
I have the 3.0 duramax in my truck and I love it. Regularly gets 500 miles on a tank of fuel.
It's great to hear all these important questions being asked and what BS answers they get. My biggest question is what they are going to do about all the fraud and lies from people who are heads of these departments? When will they hold people accountable for their actions.
I would like to say wait 'til 2024 when we get back to Making America Great Again, with the greatest President ever elected #45 & soon #47. Then we'll see these delusional, incompetent, and utterly disgusting "heads of institutions" see their days of reckoning.
These cars 🚗 are a sickening joke, along with this democrat administration!! And the unions as a whole voted 🗳 for this complete insanity!
can tell you have never driven one. best engineered and designed cars on the road, Tesla Model S and X. Made in America.
The average Minnisotan on Social Security makes about $15,000 a year. I am one of the people who will never ever be able to buy a electric car. Let alone find somewhere to plug one in. There are no chargers in the country side. And I'm not going to buy one of those either. I'll be dead before I could pay the car off. Where are our subsidies 😢😢😢
Leftists don't care about the old or disabled. What happens in commie countries over the past 120 years should be evidence enough of that...
Mike Pence is not concerned.
you charge them at home mostly. cheaper than gas.
If you make 15,000 a year, you won't be buying any car, not new anyway.
👍 work this out before pushing it on Americans. We dont all have "10K" for repairs...
Why are they taking crap from Alfred E. Neuman?
4:40 Granholm didn’t know that the only nickel mine in the US is in Michigan, despite being a former governor of MICHIGAN! What a clown world this administration is.
Wow. Absolutely schooled.
You couldn't give me an E v I want nothing to do with them
you should test drive one. you'd never go back. I have two, best designed and engineered cars on the market.
Way to go Pete S!!! Hold them accountable
I don't want any $40,000 car.
We can get rid of government and run the whole thing on owe done with all the retad's
They need a helmet
When yo get rid of ALL gas powered cars then it is forcing Americans to either buy an EV or other modes of transportation.
I will buy a horse before I but an EV Clown Car . Ask Buttie Boy who he is invested in .
good for you. keep your head in the sand and never change. it worked out fine for the dinosaurs.
@@mattt8889That guy said he would buy a horse 🐴 instead! 😂😂😂

"WOW, SOMEONE ACTUALLY SHUT UP BOOTY JUDGE!"
Central Minnesota is in the middle of yet another severe drought. Multiple crop failures. DO SOMETHING!!!!!
Love this Mr Pete is getting BURNED 😂😂😂😂
not really. he's getting burned only because they talk over him when he starts rebutting their lies
Fire him
So why invite Pete when you don’t give him time to reply to questions?
Thank you!
"Yeah, but if we mined here, how could we crush America, which is our only goal?"
I have a 2011 chevy volt and it is still kicking. It is true that during the winter the battery is cut to more than half but it switches over to gas. I think hybrids are more practical than full ev.
If they made a poll asking the public they’d see that it’s a resounding NO🤌🏼💯
I'm voting with my $ and paying tax upfront. Got a deposit for an ev.
Most people don't buy new cars, they can't afford them. The replacement of the batteries on an EV can run over 5000 dollars. When buying a used EV you'd have to figure that into the price of a used vehicle.
5000.00 just for the battery..
Add 2000.00 more to have it put in..
@@jamescarlsen2789 A replacement battery for one of the newer pure EVs (not a hybrid) will likely exceed $20,000 + installation. For example, a standard range battery for a Mach E Mustang is $18,000; $23,000 for the extended range version. They come new with good warranties but after that runs out, you'd best trade.
also factor in facts. batteries on Teslas have been typically lasting 200k miles.
@@mattt8889 the anti-EV crowd here responds only to fear, not facts. "IT'S REALLY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES" . . . that will last eight years and 100k miles longer than I've ever owned a car in the past . . . .
It takes about just as long as if you run out of gas for frostbite to kick in
I hope he didn't tear him a new a$$whole.
That's his boyfriend's job.
At least 2/3rd battery loss. I had one and traded it in less than year after purchase to buy a gas car it was useless in the winter.
This administration is the laughingstock!!!!
Shame on you Mr. Buttigieg.
Ole Pete is well qualified to be sec of transportation... Well then maybe not. But be does tick a certain box.
Well put senator
he's not a Senator and his question was not well put.
The internal combustion engine is over 200 years old. It's time has passed.
Fecal man doesn't understand car salesman now charge almost double the msrp on all cars and trucks.
Double? Are you sure 🤔
@@galewinds7696 almost double like I said.
"Tears into"?? Did you even watch the video. Pete handed his ass to him.
Well glad someone is and climate change means more money in the government pockets
These so called leaders are sooooo out of touch with the rest of Americans who don’t work in DC! Get rid of the lot of ‘em!!!
Well said
we are truly screwed !!!!
Nobody talks about how much these E Cars weigh... their weight alone will cause major road wear
That is a big issue. Sadly the same people who rail against EVs often drive equally or heavier large trucks that cause the same road damage and also make for less safe driving conditions and statistically kill more pedestrians.
@@GreenScreenBartender lol the sarcasm was excellent but sadly fell on deaf ears
Talks about how Americans don’t want EVs. Then goes on to say we should produce EV materials in in US 🙄
🤡🤡🤡🤡🤮🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢🤢
Yep. Pete just doesn’t give a crap about anyone. He is a complete fool for sure.
Why wasn't he allowed to answer the question of using American mines????
I think we know the only solution, and nobody wants to say it.
Yes ,scrap climate hysteria and end the biohazard EV cars
What a complete putz!
Climate change is normal, government needs it to be abnormal, for tax revenue for big government, 😂😂😂😂😄😄😄😄
Why does the House bother having an expert testify if all they are going to do is grandstand. What a waste of everyone's time. Ask, LISTEN, and come up with a solution that moves us forward as a nation. EVs aren't the enemy. Grandstanding is.
E vs are no good because they cost to much and there is no infrastructure to have a lot of electric vehicles on the roads in America. We need gasoline vehicles in America we have the lowest pollution ratio and emissions in the world 😅
Be careful you might make Pete cry. FJB
I would like to know what EV vehicle is $30,000
2023 Chevy Bolt. And you can get used ones with replaced batteries even for $15-20k.
plenty. used Tesla Model 3 and Y with low miles and that price. Made in America.
@@mattt8889 laughable. The battery alone is 15,000 you would never find that. Why do you think they’re getting rid of it

Mr Stauber , excellent questioning. Don’t let up.
Great points by Stauber. I'm pro EVs, as long as it's driven by market and not by government. Why wouldn't it become a top priority then, of any administration, to cut the red tape and make mining of battery elements in America an example to the world of competency in this coming EV revolution. It is coming. It's not stoppable. The technology is just better... so... let's lead the way. What has Mayor Pete said about any of this?
All by design, to bring your country to its knees.
30000 ev
This guy gives me hope for Minnesota! 👏🏼
Pete Stauber is an embarrassment to we who are stuck with him as our "representative".
EVs are great if your just cruising 20 min. around town! They want us in our little huts, with our high tech, going nowhere and chewing on snails and seaweed! No cows, No cars, No pizza, No traveling, ...just BIG CONTROL!
The vast majority of Americans, including those in the country, commute to and from work well within the range of modern EVs.
😂 I love it. Stauber handed Bootyjuice his ass on a platter.
really? by making sure he advocated for the mining industry to make sure they take care of his campaign contributions for next year's election?
Stauber is a clown. Bought and paid for.
@@mattt8889 The sad thing is that we who know better can't afford Pete's price.
