It is illegal, if it causes panic, it's the most misrepresented quote in American law. Free speech doesn't mean unchecked speech or consequential speech, just like you can't tell bom$ on a plane.
You certainly CAN yell "fire" in a crowded theater. You will suffer the consequences if wrong, but you certainly have the right to do so. And you can yell "bomb" on an airplane. Again, if false you will be subject to arrest but you certainly can yell it.

You can yell "fire" in any building, crowded or not. Its not illegal and no, the supreme court never made a ruling on that. There was a supreme court judge that used "you cant yell fire in a crowded movie theater" in a response to a defendant's lawyer in an unrelated case.
Its all just a misunderstanding from an old court case that leaves out the actual context and point the judge was making.

I don't disagree that he amazes me, but I really struggle to understand what's courageous about any of this? As a senator he's a very powerful individual. Out of 300 Million there's only 99 with equal power, only about 500 with comparable power. What he does with that power is ask sanctimonious questions instead of working with the administration to improve for instance health care - which I'm told is terrible in your country and provided an important backdrop to the fallout from the pandemic. Did it not?

I was on a plane the day the mandate ended . I saw less than ten people wearing a mask . I was thrilled that mask mandate was over . Didn't get sick after arriving home .
I agree with you. If you Google N95 masks, I found an informative piece on them. They are only good for about 90 minutes of use. That’s because the mask itself is too porous to stop the vivid virus bug. Covid can’t be seen with the naked eye. You have to have an electronic microscope to see it. The factories making N95 masks put an electrostatic charge on the mask and instantly wrap it up in plastic. However, after 90minutes, that charge which acts as a repellant to the virus,has dissipated due to movement on your face. The masks then are little more than a fashion statement!
