      @@onyxd6270 then please explain what you mean. What does “Main Street” (location) have to do with anything?
      And the Supreme Court members aren’t humiliating and frightening vulnerable women as they enter abortion clinics. They are going right for the jugular: after purposely lying On Video by assuring they would never go against RvW so as to get themselves appointed, they now have absolutely no shame in reversing their promise. If the judges of the highest court on the land are dishonest in plain sight, how can we trust them to decide the fate of our fellow humans?
      And back to my original question: what do you mean when you say you can go “appeal for the child.”? Which, by the way is only an embryo or at most a fetus. Not called a “child” by dictionary definition until After birth.
      I will add that, if RvW gets reversed and “life” is now legally stated to begin at conception, then every unborn “child” by this definition, must be entitled to all the protections and funding provided by city state and federal laws. That means everything from tax deductions and tax credits to collecting child support if mother fits the financial parameters; and that definitely means child support from the father. That means laws must be put in place to have mandatory dna tests for proven probable father, and then child support should be retroactive to date of conception.

    As a Brit living in France I never thought I would witness such a complete and utter breakdown of a Democratic country as I am witnessing in the USA. The structure of your governance makes little sense to me, where a governing party has absolutely no power to take a Nation forward with policy because a Republican Autocratic opposition appears to block and destroy policy for their own gain. To watch a male dominated Supreme Court possibly overturn a woman's right to make decision on her life is beyond belief. In this speech, Pete Buttigieg displays control, intelligent argument and an understanding I have not heard from any Republican, however, the Republicans receive far more media cover for their idiotic, small minded and generally mistruths along with their generally immature and obscene behaviour than any Democrat with actually something of structure and policy to say. For me, what is going on is heartbreaking. I am just shy of 80. Females had no rights when I was starting life out. We fought so hard for our rights and the rights of others. I remember when black kids weren't allowed to go to school with white kids. I remember being denied a raise because a male co-worker needed it more because "he is the breadwinner." I was a single mom. To see us move backwards like this is actually terrifying. Every human deserves the exact same rights. I don't care what color they are, religion, orientation or anything. Every person. No man or woman should tell me what to do with my body. No one has a right to tell me who to love. All of this is so wrong. What has happened to my country.

      I understand why we have addressed the rights of various groups, women, blacks, LGBTQ etc. but the problem with that in my mind is that we create categories of people. We find divisions to make. As you stated everyone should have EQUAL rights based on the fact that they are human and alive. It doesn't matter the color of your skin, where you are from or who you love, the fact that you are a living breathing human should allow you the same rights of every other human.

      I agree, but the unfortunate fact is that a thoughtful, civil discussion will not stop the Republican’s agenda of evil. I think that Americans are going to have take bold actions. You could start with something peaceful like a general strike to temporarily choke the economy. Look, the American far right actually funded such an attempt in Canada and just closing a couple of border crossing cost us billions. If supporters of women and minorities refused to go to work until equity is restored, how long would it take for the country to cry uncle? What could the American right say up about such a tactic? They supported it. They cried “freedom” and even showed up in Canada waving flags. Give a taste of their own medicine.
      Sure, it’s a pipe dream, but it’s better than war and everyone knows that it is better to die fighting for freedom than it is to live as a slave.

    • @MrRecrute
      @MrRecrute 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@piktormusic2538, unfortunately women and minorities are underpaid for their work and cannot go on strike without undermining their financial situation. @@MrRecrute - The idea seems unrealistic and you could be right, but if you consider what is happening in Ukraine - suspension of normal working life, strong resolve in the face of losing independence and freedom, communities supporting each other, people making do with whatever they can - this might not be as crazy an idea as it seems. Ukrainians have been at it for months. I do not believe that America could stand such a general strike for even a month before something had to give.
