    Hi! I discovered you a year ago, because I had the worst atopic dermatitis crisis that I have ever had in my life, it is a "new drug" in Colombia and there are very few of us who have that privilege and the truth is that no one speaks about the Dupixent in my language. At the beginning I had no hope that my life would be normal again, but it began to improve little by little, I have also seen your process and it fills me with much more enthusiasm, thank you very much for sharing this information, it is very useful and very important.

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow! So happy to hear you are improving! How did you get Dupixent in Colombia? Want to know to help others in your country. Atopic dermatitis really is hell on earth. Your comment is the best comment I received this week! Will pray for your continued improvements.
      Also, there are more than 20 new treatments like Dupixent being developed. Soon we will have many more great treatment options. Stay strong and stay hopeful!

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JeffreyLin Thank you very much too!
      Getting Dupixent in Colombia (in my personal case) is subsidized by the state. ($0) this is because of my socioeconomic level.
      I do not know in a particular and personal way how it is achieved.
      At the beginning of my crisis I was a "candidate" to receive the medicine, the dermatologist suggested it from my 4 appointment. However, I had corticosteroids for many more months and at high doses, but only until the end of last year was dupixent approved for me.
      This depends on medical criteria and if the therapy is working or not, in my case the corticosteroids worked at first and then the dermatitis worsened by reducing the dose, I suppose they are only for "chronic" cases that are difficult to manage.
      Hopefully we all have easy access to new treatments, which seek to minimize side effects :(
      It is a bit sad how some countries have access to treatment many years later.
      I would like to ask you something, how long does the skin return to its normal color? in your experience.
      I have been with red skin for many months, although it looks much better, the red color does not diminish, not a bit :(
      Thanks again for your videos, information is difficult in countries like mine, and even more difficult to find people with a similar condition. Please keep sharing your experience.
      Many blessings! :)

    Hi Jeffrey, I started dupixent a couple months ago and started experiencing ocular side effects (sensitivity, some redness). I know you had really bad conjuctivitis in the beginning, do you have any recommendations on how you got your eye issues under control? Also appreciate your content, it definitely helps others like myself dealing with similar issues.

    Hi Jeffrey! I’m from Singapore and my dr wants to start me on dupilumab in a week’s time! I’m currently not taking any medication except for antihistamines and my condition is really stable and has gotten better in the past year. I now have very few red spots and only have like small patches of bumps around my legs and feet. That’s why I’m considering not taking the dupilumab. Do u think this is a good idea? And I want to ask if u r planning to take this Medication for life? And r u planning to drag out the time gap between shots even more? Lastly, do u still have to apply moisturisers daily or does ur skin feel perfectly normal as it is and comfortable? Thank u in advance! And thank u so much for sharing!

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Dupixent is by far the most effective eczema treatment I've used and I've had eczema since birth. But I always recommend less medications so if you're doing ok, I'd stick with antihistamines and other basic skincare. However, skin might look "clear" without bumps or cracks but still be flaring up underneath, so only your dermatologist can judge if your skin is actually good.
      I'll keep taking Dupixent as long as it works and as long as I need it. Since it's so new, no one knows how long it can stay effective or if I'll eventually be cured. I've been on dupixent for 4 years now and continue to improve, so maybe I won't need it one day. Also, there are tons of better treatments being developed after dupixent proved this type of treatment works, so there'll be more options. Yes, my skin feels perfectly normal so I don't need to apply a lot of moisturizers. It's very dry here in LA so everyone needs some moisturizer, even normal people.

    My son suffers from eczema since his birth. I have tried many medications over the past years without any result. The doctor advised me about this drug, but I am worried about its effect on my son because he is still young at the age of only 13 years. Do you recommend using it or waiting until he reaches the age of 18

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Roro, I've also had eczema since birth. It is a tough life to live everyday. Some doctors say immune-related conditions like eczema and asthma may improve during adolescence when a kid's hormones and body changes. So, maybe you want to wait a year or two and see if your son improves. However, my condition got much worse during the end of my teen years and wish I had Dupixent at the time (i'm now 38-years old). From all the research, Dupixent seems very safe, safer than most medications you can buy over-the-counter at a pharmacy, Target, Walmart, or CVS. The main side effect is eye irritation, which usually goes away after a few weeks or with a lower dose. Dupixent is approved for teens with a smaller 200-mg dose instead of the adult 300-mg dose, but research has been done on teens using both the 200-mg and 300-mg dose with great success (
      jamanetwork.com/journals/jamadermatology/fullarticle/2753673 ). I don't know how severe your son's eczema is, but if it is anything like mine, I would want relief as soon as possible and have some rest, and then hopefully have a normal life.

    So, I have atopic eczema on my face and neck but it is just seasonal(I get it in January and it clears up in May).I have been to some dermatologists but none of them could treat me. They just prescribed steroids creams wich worked but than my eczema would came back.They prescribed me a pill that would help my allergies and eczema but it didn't work. I am allergic to eggs(only food that I'm allergic) , dust and some other things that are related to the season.

    Hello, I’m considering dupixent, but my eczema is no where near as severe. Have had it for about 20 years. I do have allergies, no asthma. I’m shocked at the price.
    Would you recommend trying allergy shots first then dupixent? Both at the same time? I also have HSV1 occurs mostly on my face and HIdrenitus suppuritiva that started much later about 5 years. I’m pretty sure it was due to being on protopic for such an extended period of time that it wiped out my immune system. I have also developed severe hyperpigmentation as a result of being on protopic and not using adequate sun protection while having already brown skin.
    I wonder if you could provide a road map. I truly want to watch your videos but I also feel like some of my conditions are mental in the sense I’m a hypochrondriac. Sometimes I feel like if I watch/hear someone with a condition I begin to develop it myself 😩so it’s better just to avoid.
    My first question is would you try dupixent while taking allergy shots? Or try allergy shots then dupixent.

    • @21972012145525
      @21972012145525 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I tolerate steroids and protopic well-too well. My skin looks amazing and then as soon as I stop it’s horrible again. However moisturizer is not enough. I was able to stop steroids and protopic for a few years as I was not working. So I could afford to look bad and dealt with the constant itch. But I’m trying to get back into the workplace. My eyes are my worst area. So I need to learn how to manage my eczema without it taking over my life and stresssing me out.

    • @21972012145525
      @21972012145525 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have scarring due to overdoing steroids and again the hyperpigmentation from overdoing protopic without sun protection. The hyperpigmentation and scaring has never gone away and I’m still not good with using sunscreen because I feel like it dries me out making my eczema worse.
