I've got an AEM intake, catback, and boosted performance etune. 12.71 in the quarter mile at 109.26 mph These things are pretty quick, and take super well to mods
@@mattquerioI just had to get the premium because I was tired of not having push button start, and having to fumble for keys with my hands full With the premium and STI short shifter package, it was at $34,560 or something like that. I got them down to $32K. Still, for a car like this, a really great deal considering the next closest thing in price is a Civic Si with 70 less HP, FWD, a clutch made of styrofoam, and the near total inability to tune without adding lots of supporting parts
Fantastic video. Great follow up to the Cobb OTS video. According to trap speed calculations, you gained almost 50hp over stock with the Dmann OTS. 25hp more than the Cobb OTS. I got similar results. Added a intake, took it up another notch. One video on here shows a tuner getting 40hp from the intake.
I got the 91 OTS DMANN… I’m guessing my numbers should be lower but I do run 3 gallons of e85 as suggested by DMANN. HOPEFULLY I can get my stage 2 parts installed this week and start my actual tune process with him. Super excited.
@@traviswatson4986 definitely little pep. Being doing this since it was researched in the 2015 era. I run a full tank of corn now but fully tuned as well.
Very impressed with that OTS tune, do you think it would be a good choice for someone that doesn’t want to mod a WRX past a high flow air filter and an exhaust?
That’s quick! Wild that with just a tune it is almost running the quarter mile close to the SS Camaro. Saw you scored a Z. Will you be keeping the wrx?
I see you said fuck it to the 1000mile break in period. The part where it says "do not race the engine" and "avoid revving the engine over 4krpm". This will be a, "never raced or tuned and properly maintained" selling post to some poor soul later on lol
I spoke with a Subaru Engineer. He told me there is no break in period for newer cars. He said to drive it like you stole it right from the gate so you can see if there are any issues that arise during warranty period.
@@illyack5593this would be a reason to wait before tuning. Stress test for warranty reasons, then tune etc. I'm going to wait 4K, after second oil change.
You can unplug the cobb and the car is fine. People only leave it hooked up and in sight to monitor vehicle systems and sensors. In terms of being worth it, that depends on you. Are you willing to potentially have a warranty claim denied for a few extra hp? That's the big question, and in all reality it is a gamble.
@@mattquerio thanks! I'm really curious how fast it is if you only have to shift once 😈 But overall, better numbers than the new civic type r. Very nice!!
@@squirrelzar that’s true. But beating on a brand new engine like that ain’t too good. My first 500mile oil change to clean things out had some metal flakes.
I watched some kid test drive one with 7 miles on it yesterday, he stalled out about 5 times then gunned it hitting limiter accidently when he pulled out. Unfortunately, even buying a new one - someone may have given it a beating already.

The FA24 is a HUGE bang for buck man. I got this base 6mt for 28,609 plus ttl. If I throw 2 grand at it, yeah, mid 12s. AND all weather performance.

On 93? Thats impressive
@@regen3rate Hilariously, no. That's on California's horrible 91.
@@JadedWolfBravo that's amazing, dude.

Mid west Mexico. 😎
V happy with the VB WRX. It’s a fun car to drive and take corners like a champ
I agree. It's a great commuter, lots of fun, and the handling really is shockingly good.
Man, 13.1 is absolutely movin' with nothing but an OTS tune! Subaru really had these things running very conservatively from the factory. Great vid.
Glad you enjoyed, and yeah I agree. If I had went hard and took out the subwoofer, and launched it hard I bet it would do 12.9xx tune only.

Yeah this platform is REALLY responsive to modification!
Puppy is quick! I don’t know what else can offer this performance new at this price. Thanks for the vid!
The tune really changes the whole experience! And I agree, it's a bargain in base trim. Glad you enjoyed!
a gti mk8 is faster when tuned
Hey just saw this! Love it man!
Thanks for the quality offerings!
Going to get the Drunkman 91 tune very soon. Only have 91 in AZ.
Well worth it.
@Ha Ha Adventures I live in AZ as well, I’ll be following along
Did you watch the dmann 93 video I posted??
@@mattquerio yes wish you’d done the 91 tune as well 🤔
You can mix fuels in AZ to get 93. Few stations in Phoenix area that offers racing fuel 95 and 100 octane.

Glad to help!
That's fantastic with just a tune.
I agree. It's a great platform.
This is a great video
Thanks man, I hope it was helpful!!
Try with the traction control off, u have to hold down the button , and u have to be stopped. I don’t know if u knew that or not
U will get a better time
Thanks for the tip!
Well done!
Thank you!
Nice. Im at 14.8 no tune on regular sunoco
VB?
Very impressed with that OTS tune, do you think it would be a good choice for someone that doesn’t want to mod a WRX past a high flow air filter and an exhaust?
I have that tune that’s for the ets intake, it’s perfect, I highly recommend it.
100%
What are you pushing with the 93 tune for hp and Torque.
I can't say for sure, but I'm going to guess 300whp and 320wtq by my butt dyno. And also by using a hp calculator based on my weight and trap speed.
nice vid
Thank you for watching!
That’s quick! Wild that with just a tune it is almost running the quarter mile close to the SS Camaro. Saw you scored a Z. Will you be keeping the wrx?
Yes I'll be keeping the WRX. It's a great daily for Michigan!
Forgot to turn off tracking contral
Oops
How much power are you making with that tune?

That is all correct 👌 🤣
But seriously, I don't beat on it regularly. My last tank...I averaged 29.96 mpg.
It’s a good thing these engines are pre-broken in before they even get dropped at the dealer 😉

Is it worth getting a Cobb and tune if my only planned mod is an 3 inch Xforce catback exhaust?
Also is it required to carry the Cobb thing up by your dashboard? I would worry about someone trying to steal it. Sorry I’m new to Cobb/ tuning etc.

Great video man! This car is a great value if you plan to tune it. Subpar imo if you don't. Do you know if you can hit 60 in 2nd gear with this tune?
It seems really close to 60 in 2nd, but I'm gonna say if you hit 60 you're going to hit the limiter. My dragy runs still show me shifting before 60.

👌 Very nice indeed
get that 60ft to a 1.6 its a 12 sec car right there
Agreed. Impressive for tune only.
How long have you been running this tune? Are you still?
I ran it for 1000 miles. The car is no longer tuned. I drive like an old lady 90% of the time. No point.
@mattquerio that was alot of money to spend for 1k miles , something happen ?

LOL ya know they recomend a 1000 mile break in period. I guess 800 miles is close enough haha

Shaving one second off the quarter mile and risking warranty doesn't sound worth it.

Dragy starts when you start moving. The tree graphic is generated after you make the run, based on when you took off.
