As much as I don't like seeing orchids indoors, they do look so nice when presented in such an orderly manner 😍 The not moving in and out will definitely save your body from extra work and then also reduce the worry IF the forecast is not going to be as predicted. A LOT less room for error 👍🏼 I am left with not much choice, but now I am having back to back cloudy days, it is NO bueno indoors either. Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, the temperatures are agreeable for the coming 3 nights, that I am taking most of mine outside si o si! Like you said, cloudy light outdoors is still more light than mine would ever get indoors. So, I am going to risk it! I am happy to see you have yourself a great After Dark 'Black Pearl' 😉👍🏼 truly appreciate the shout out, thank you so much, amiga mia! Yes, I have better light indoors than you, even on cloudy days. Also because I have a much smaller collection than you, they fit in just right. Still, they take a lot of time to take care of although I love to do it. What I hate is having to interrupt my daily orchid care to do house keeping 😅😅😅 Cheer up amiga, 15 more days and we are heading into longer days, Yay 😄 Have a wonderful cosy evening 😘😘😘

Obrigada amiga Josefina 😍 Acho que eu e você somos parecidas, ou fazemos bem ou então nem começamos 😅 Dia horrível hoje, escuro e chuvoso. Eu gosto de ter a porta da sala aberta mas hoje até tinha dado jeito fechar para acender a lareira mas com a Iris ainda tão jovem e a precisar de aprender a fazer as necessidades lá fora tive de manter aberta. Ela já pede mas tenho de andar sempre em alerta. Ter a porta aberta dá um certo descanso nesse aspecto. Nunca tive estes constrangimentos antes pois os outros cães quando chegaram aqui, eu tinha outro mais velho e ensinavam os mais novos. A Meiguinha já foi adotada crescida e era super asseada. Nunca fazia nada nem no jardim, esperava sempre que a levassemos á rua de manhã e á noite e depois veio o Rufus e aprendeu com ela. Quando ela morreu veio a Fênix que aprendeu com o Rufus e também ela não fazia nada a não ser na rua. Era um descanso. Agora tem sido mais trabalhoso mas a Iris é uma fofura e vai fazer-se uma ótima cadela. Desculpe o Bla Bla 😝 Beijinhos e até amanhã 😘😘😘😘

Bom dia Fernanda, que bom que você tem um lugar dentro de casa para cultivar suas orquídeas, essa janela que pega sol é essencial para elas, estão muito bem, protegidas do frio que provavelmente virá, nosso inverno esse ano não foi tão rigoroso, mas mesmo assim minhas orquídeas sentem, fico feliz agora na primavera e verão!😍🌸🌼🌿💞
Olá Meri, bom dia !!! Até agora não nos podemos queixar do frio, não por estar calor mas porque não tem estado tanto frio como seria de esperar nesta altura do ano. Mas agora o frio chegou mesmo e na realidade faz falta para manter os ecossistemas. Mas o que me custa mais no inverno são os dias mais curtos. Felizmente, em breve vão voltar a crescer mas o pior do inverno está para chegar. Obrigada minha amiga, tenha um ótimo dia 😍💖🥰😘
Just catching up on this missed video. It's interesting what you say about moving orchids out during the day and then back in, how it caused them stress. Fabulous aloe at the end, by the way.
It seems that when orchids find their sweet spot they prefer to keep it. I suppose it happens with all plants but orchids could be more sensitive to changes 🤗 Thank you so much for being a friend and I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very successful New Year. Much love 😘😘😘

Ver na TV? Nunca experimentei mas sempre tive a curiosidade de saber se a qualidade das imagens do TH-cam são boas e definidas. Aqui em casa agora só temos uma TV que está na sala. Houve tempos, quando os meus filhos eram pequenos e ainda viviam connosco, em que havia uma em cada quarto e também na cozinha. Agora, nesta casa, se não quiser ver TV noutro lugar que não na sala, tenho a TV no celular ou no computador. Modernices. Mas recordo o tempo em que eu era menina e tudo era muito limitado e á noite eu só podia ouvir radio e mesmo assim as escondidas, debaixo dos lençóis. E nessa altura eu sonhava em ter uma televisão pequenina só para mim. E finalmente agora eu tenho 😅😅😅 Quando vejo os programas no celular eu lembro sempre disso, hehehe 😜 Obrigada querida Lu, beijinhos 😘😘😘😘
Olá! Aqui usamos muito TV mas para ver TH-cam, e canais pagos. Tipo Netiflix, HBO entre outros 😂 E a imagem ficou excelente 🥰😘

Vielen Dank für dein Feedback, ich weiß das wirklich zu schätzen. Der Winter ist nicht meine Lieblingsjahreszeit. Nicht unbedingt wegen der Kälte (obwohl mein Klima mild ist, aber immer noch zu kalt für mich), sondern hauptsächlich wegen der kurzen Tage. Zum Glück wachsen die Tage in 15 Tagen wieder und das macht mich glücklich.

I keep some Phalenopsis orchids (in doors) in tall water vases - easy - just change water every 2-3 weeks with filter / drinking water .
This month start some new keiki and new flowers..
Hello, so good to read your feed back. I also grow my Phalaenopsis indoors all year round in tall glass vases in water culture. They love it 😊 and I love to be able to monitor the root growth. However only one has a spike. All the others usually start the spikes around January and bloom by March. Thank you so much for commenting, much appreciated. Have a great coming weekend 🌷💐💖🥰

We are getting another cold snap and had to get a new heater for the polytunnel.
Ive got some new Lophophora coming in, another caespitosa and a Lw pentagona comes tomorrow.

My Santa Barbara has also a very long spike, I try not to move it to much 😅 you plants do look wonderful ❤I think you are right about not moving them to much, I am a strong believer that plants do not only adapt to media but also to climate. So by moving them in and out you change it a lot. I am curious to see how your plants will do this winter. I think they like it!
Absolutely, they really need to adapt to environment too, not just medium. I pushed it too far last winter 😝

For me right now the biggest deal is the Phragmipedium bessae bud I managed to grow!!!
My Fredclarkiara also did not grow any spikes yet. It's a bit of a weird one, still have to figure out the care.
But I agree: moving plants around is stressful for us and them. Constantly readjust to a new spot is tough for them
Congratulations for the bessae. I never tried growing Phrags, some say they are easy, others cannot grow them. As for the Tolumnia they are cute but they have been a disappointment and need daily care 😝 I was hoping the Fredclarkeara would bloom this year but at least I have not killed it yet 😉

Concerning the Phragmipediums: I only have this bessae so I can't say anything. It seems to be a very nice plant!
I have not forgotten my promise to you. In fact I have three motes vandas that I promised on a hanging cedar mount. All 3 are miniature vandas. I went through a period of no job. That is why the delay. April is the month of delivery. To keep my word.
Oh wow, you are the best. Thank you for this message, I really appreciate it. However, with new laws from last year, plants are not allowed to go through customs if they are coming from out of EU. Well, they already were not allowed before but now they are much more strict. Last year a friend sent me a plant pakage from Canada and it was not allowed, having been returned to sender with additional expenses. So, thank you very very much for your kindness. Hi Richard, thank you so much !!! Yes, I could do it but the idea does not make me comfortable. Also not only the ceiling is quite high but also I don't think it would look nice. I try not to change things much, I really don't want to transform the house into a grow room, out of consideration for my husband and children. Especially having so many plants already in the garden. Anyway, light has been enough for many years, it seems. I have been growing orchids for 8 years only but if I were already growing them when we bought this house 25 years ago we most probably would have built a greenhouse but now it is too late. Still, I am quite happy with what I've got and I try to keep it a hobby to give me pleasure but I also appreciate a few challenges at the end of each season 😊 I am looking forward to spring when I can take all back outdoors again.
