I recently toured a decked out vintage house (it’s a tourist destination in my area) and learned that wardrobes became popular, at least around me, because houses were taxed per room number and closets counted as rooms. If you had a wardrobe instead of a closet, well you wouldn’t be taxed as much! 😁

Hi, just a FYI. The driftwood wasn't driftwood. It looked like either a limestone stalactite or a stalagmite with branches containing vugs or small cavities filled with small crystals if anything. The limestone could have coated a branch, similar to the petrification of trees in our West. Easy to make the mistake. In many countries collecting these from limestone caves has become illegal because it takes millions of years to create one the size that was in the armoire. Limestone droplets fall, leaving a minuscule layer of limestone on the top (stalactite: it must hold on tight) and creating the limestone stalagmites (you might trip over it). Someone filled the little vugs with large crystal formations for effect, making the piece more interesting. The original crystals would probably be tiny, druzy inclusions. Thanks for reading.
