I own a 2017 F Pace, 2.0D AWD with 100'000 km and the car had absolutely NO ISSUES 'till now. Not even small glitches or malfunctions. However I'm doing regular maintenance and every 3 months I reset all the "ghost faults" that accumulate over time with my diagnostic tool. The best car I ever had.

2018 FPace failed steering rack ! Common problem to do with the casing cracking and water entering £200 diagnosis charge and £4000 charge after waiting months for the new part ! No help from JLR. Very dangerous should be on a safety recall
Interesting bit about not shutting down after a service. I was told mine was ready to pick up, but when I went to get it they said it wasn't shutting down properly and they needed to do an update. They gave me a loan car for a day while they sorted it. Five years old now, f Pace SVR. Love it!
2019 f-pace r-sport owner, 160k kms on the dash, had 2 issues, telematic unit is bust so the simcard don't work, and recently the car amplifier stopped working, i saw the part at ebay for $200 CAD and my mechanic charges $90 to replace it, so it isn't bad, everything else is good.
Great video. Ive previously owned a 2.0 diesel f-pace, I had stop start issues in that it would fail to engage. I loved the car but ended up trading it in for an x5 hybrid. Two years later I’m back in another f-pace and loving it, this time a 3.0 S petrol, sounds incredible and usually returns 30 mpg. Ticks all my boxes for a fun family bus. You should do a comparison video between the two models, same car but totally different down to the engine.
I love my F-Pace (MY2018 25T Petrol) and it was the first second-hand car purchase since coming out of my company car scheme. Likewise, it has not left me stranded anywhere although it has suffered from a failed deployable towbar (I never use it) that was replaced under warranty and a stretched timing chain resulting in a new chain being fitted under warranty. Our petrol XE has also been relatively trouble free. I think the message about looking after your car especially regular oil changes is key - ours do no more than 5-6K miles per year but still get regular oil changes etc. Look forward to the changing brake discs/pads video - I can recommend Brembo discs and TRW pads.
I have this model - did you get the dreaded rattle on startup and take it to a garage who diagnosed the timing chain? What mileage was it at that point? I imagine Jag are regretting using a bicycle chain for a 4 cylinder engine now...
No noticeable rattle, I had an engine management light come on which initially was diagnosed as faulty vvt solenoids. These were changed and the engine management came back on after a couple weeks which then identified the stretched timing chain. This was at 44k miles. It has been fine since although I traded it in a couple of weeks ago for another (facelift) F-Pace.
@@martind511 Thank you, they're the scary ones, when there's no rattle! That's eerie, mine had the EML come on a few weeks ago which were diagnosed as faulty VVT solenoids. Personally I hope my EML does come back on so I can have the chain replaced under warranty. JLR should pay for that on a car with 40k miles, clearly the chain isn't fit for purpose.
I've had my 2016 2.0D F-Pace since 2017 and now it has around 50,000km. No big issues with it, and never left me stranded. Here are the small stuff though: The driver side window won't go up, if it was lowered using the auto-down first. Shut the car of, lock it and restart to fix. The other one, that's actually to worry about, is the gear selector knob not popping up with the engine started. That was going on intermittently for some time before it kind of went away on it's own, for now. And that's about it.
Had one of these on a lease for 3 years and had no issues save for the emergency braking sensor that fell off behind the front grille. Wishing I bought it at the end of the lease because I'm looking for another one now to replace my XE. One of the best looking SUVs on the market and in my experience not unreliable at all.
USB / Apple car play dropping out. If it was when the phone battery was lower it’s due to the usb power not being strong enough to charge and do CarPlay at the same time. You can get a dual usb power cable which uses both sockets to feed one usb and that solved it for me 😎
Awesome review. Certainly put my mind to rest as I’m about to collect my 2020 p250 e pace. You hear all the scare stories about reliability, and it being a money pit, I was beginning to believe it’s true. Hopefully I’m making the right choice. Thanks for sharing.
Come with 10 years of ownership and we can talk. People come here with a year and under 50k milage. Beyond 10 years and over 100k is the real testament of a reliable car.
I’ve got a 21 reg from new and the warranty claims are pages long and it’s spent 12 months in the retailer garage on numerous occasions. Jaguar just kicked the can up the road and Rockar as a retailer told me to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Group one Southend sorted it and they get full marks for the services provided but after all this time the car is disappointing.
I am having a very bad experience. Mine is still under warranty. At this point my transfer case is leaking and I was told that this is because of used a different brand tyre which has different threading when one of my tyre got flat and warranty won’t cover it for same reason. Jaguar customer service told me that they only manufacture car and they don’t sell it. So it is dealer s decision to provide warranty or not as they are the sellers of the car.
Yeah I’m going to pass. I use my Honda fit for work and do 40miles a day. I was considering getting this but I don’t think all these replacements and issues should be expected for a vehicle at this price point. It looks great and its one of the reasons I was drawn to it. The only major issue I have with my 10yr old car is having to replace the battery every 2yrs. I’m going to check out the Changan Uni-T.
Mine went in a week after buying a used one from JLR due to alignment issues. Wife got it home and the day after it stalled several times on the way to work. It went back to JLR and they couldnt find an issue and did nothing. Its been fine ever since - 4 years later.😂
@@ToOpen6seven2L sport 2016. They definitely caused the issue. I think they detached the battery and the ECU went into some sort of mode where it was learning what sensors were there. It was fine after a few more days and has been fine since. 👍🏼
The 3.0 suffers from a leaking second radiator and the throttle body has issues. Other than that, I've done around 57k in my 2019 3.0s, I had the XF Sportbrake previous to this and the F-Pace is so much better.
You’ve done a great job maintaining this car 👏 Also are those body side mouldings worth getting? Because they look really nice and I’m thinking of buying them for my fpace. Thanks!
