I have a 35t with over 150K on it, never failed an inspection ... just did an engine oil and coolant flush and everything is clean. Compression still on the high side of good. So, yeah, take care of it and it will take care of you.
Jag Tech in Nottingham are an independent Jaguar specialist. All there staff are ex jaguar employees. A service is half the price of a jaguar main dealer and you get excellent customer service. Cannot praise enough if you live in the Nottinghamshire area
The Jaguar dealer I use (Stratstone) have copies of Jaguar Enthusiast, magazines in their waiting area. In there you will find a lot of highly regarded independents specialists. A chat with any of those guys may help you out of your dilemma. I also have two Jags - they just feel so special. Keep up the good work 👍
I have a 2020 F-Pace and absolutely love it. 69k miles. Took it to the Jaguar dealership to have front brakes put on it which ran me a cool $1,700. I'm keeping mine for a while..haven't had a car in the past that drives anywhere near my Jag F-Pace
Servicing is your choice, but I would advise never to use a main dealer for an MOT. A BMW dealer failed me on break disks. I took it elsewhere as had only replaced the year before and they couldn’t understand why it failed. The same disks passed 3 more MOT’s before I sold it.
You have been looking after your F Pace so you know the condition. If you get another (newer) car to replace your F Pace, bear in mind lower mileage doesn't necessarily mean the car had been looked after and driven with the same care. The steep depreciation is gone so unless you want a new car, you are not going to lose much money driving it for another year or two.
That’s a really good point. Better the devil you know I suppose… I’m not desperate for a new car just now, but don’t want to be left with something f that has devalued excessively through my actions if I decide to upgrade in a year or so…
I use an independent jaguar specialist up here in Glasgow and they look after my jaguar like they owned it themselves at 1/2 the price , the details of the service still go onto jaguar online service record . I was at a Scottish jaguar meet in June and more than half the car owners used the same garage that I use , some of them coming from the Highlands and Islands and staying overnight in Glasgow, everyone agreed that using the independent doesn’t affect the sell on price of the car 👍🏴
I've had 3 F Paces now and I swap them for new and I just have the one service just before the MOT is due and the warranty is still valid - and F Paces' do hold their value well. Granted I don't do colosally high mileages and I just have the one service to pay for (around £440) which lasts 2 years. I suppose it depends how much dosh you have - in the end.
Interesting video as always Grant. You have less than 18 months to part X into a new F-Pace if swapping like for like. Sadly that ship has sailed with equivalent spec Sportbrakes for me so I am keeping mine as long as financially possible.
A new battery alone for my wife’s 2013 golf and my 2009 Freelander were both around £220 each so as you mention this gets changed £362 for the rest of the service doesn’t sound that bad for such a prestige car
I would recommend moving to an independent, but only one what is JLR authorised and so is able to access and update the official JLR service record history for your car, and so maintain the car’s full life service history.
I just bought a 2016 F-Pace S 3L V6 with 230k km. The price was good of course, but with that come issues. It didn't arrive yet, the engine was running fine on the live call and no lights on the dash. What should I expect, timing chain? What fails around these kms? Will check the book when it arrives for service intervals. I was also wondering how big of a cost difference will be between my 2016 Kia Sportage 2L diesel GT Line and this. I was paying around 250-300euros for an oil service for the Kia to give an example. I can do most of other things myself, I did a drain and fill on the 6AT myself and other small maintenance things.
Considering that new car tyres have around 8-9mm of tread on them, it's a bit cheeky of the dealer to suggest replacement when they are only 50% worn and still very useable.
I hsve similar dilemma on my 66 plate F-pace. I was not aware of heading for a massive next service bill? But... also our lifestyle has changed hugely as my husband has dementia, the dog is nearing the end so am thinking of looking for something a bit smaller to go with the f-type. But what??? I'm not keen on E-pace and don't want to leave the marque ❤ but I may have to jump ship!! BIG decision ahead😢😂
It’s a consideration. However I have the F Pace with the SVR engine and I done feel I need two 5.0 V8s, especially when this one is my daily that sits on the motorway. If I ever go down to one car, that would definitely be an option
There must be a specialist Jaguar Landrover garage you could turn to, that's not the main dealer, if you don't want to do everything yourself. I live in Vancouver, there's a couple with good reputations that I would trust. Main dealer is good here, but very pricy.
Its not liability its upselling they all do it. Tyres and brakes are the favourites. Unless you sell to JLR dealership your main dealer history is worth very little if anything over a specialist or even any old garage. Your car will not be retailed by a main agent. Oh as for selling it yes I would as problems begin after 5 yrs and 90k miles on most cars
What has your overall experience of the F-pace been like? Considering one myself, although I’d love an F-type as first choice. Will come down to pros and cons between the two. Having to consider practicality is a bummer sometimes. Based on your stats it would seem to be a wise choice to hang on to yours for a while longer, shift to a specialist for the service, MOTs etc and continue a little smugly knowing you’ve got a great car instead of having to invest tons in a new model, whether a Defender, Aston or Jag. These are crazy times financially and spending a lot on a hunk of metal (I.e. most cars) that depreciates quicker than any politicians honesty would smack a little of lunacy. But on the flip side there is always the call of a new toy…
I’ve loved the F Pace. Very comfortable, very reliable and a good looking car. The F Pace and F Type are two entirely different cars. We use the F Pace for work, the dog and the bikes. Not something you could do with the F type Thanks for the comments on ownership, you speak a lot of sense!
I had the same dilemma, wanted an f type, ended up with an f pace……….though with an f type engine at least, 3.0 S sounds amazing, even managed to return 32mpg round the m25 today so it’s almost economical 😂
My bill was for £5,500 after just over one year of having my F Type. Bought it when it was 3 years old after mot and service the following year that was £550.00 then just after 12 weeks with no warning the dpf went on the car £1800 to fix and just out of warranty. I never got the tyres done or the break discs or pads done sold after it was fixed and would never buy another Jaguar and I've had a few, and wouldn't recommend Jaguar Glasgow.
As long as your not living beyond your means then get whatever you want and can afford. I know many people who live far beyond their means just to keep up appearances.
Hello , just came accross your channel. Good to see someone working on a Jaguar. I just boought a 2017 xf 2l diesel last year myself. My recommendation to you would be to do the car maintenace on the car yourself. You appear failrly confident , jusy watched your video on installing the phone charger so doing the maintenance on your car yourself sould not be a problem. Why is the next service so expensive?
While i would love to buy a 5 year old higher mileage high end vechicle, iam not sure i would want to pay a premium over the same car with an indipendant service history.
So why make a video to say you need new tyres & the windscreen is cracked & insinuate this is because its a Jaguar ? I am on my second F Pace & they are wonderful !
I have a 35t with over 150K on it, never failed an inspection ... just did an engine oil and coolant flush and everything is clean. Compression still on the high side of good. So, yeah, take care of it and it will take care of you.
I would definitely keep it till the end of its life! Its wonderful car. ! I am Greek but I love British jaguar!
I am seriously thinking to buy one , second hand diesel 2019, 2020. I am in love with it!!!
It’s Indian, Tata Company
It’s Tara company and motor from ford!

You need an independent Jaguar shop like we have in the USA. You can save a TON of money
Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks for the comment and feedback. I’ll take a look!

I think that recommending new tyres when you’re around 50% wear is an indicator that you wasted a few quid on the donuts?

It's a good car. I have a 2018 F-Pace, no problems. Keep it, but change oil and filter every 10000Km
I've had 3 F Paces now and I swap them for new and I just have the one service just before the MOT is due and the warranty is still valid - and F Paces' do hold their value well.

I am in the same spot with a 2014 x3. Gonna keep her, good solid spirit and chassis. Buy now you no if it's a good car.
Keep it , as u already know it’s been well looked after by yourself, then going forward service it yourself, would make good content 👍
Good shout. I like your thinking!!
Interesting video as always Grant. You have less than 18 months to part X into a new F-Pace if swapping like for like. Sadly that ship has sailed with equivalent spec Sportbrakes for me so I am keeping mine as long as financially possible.
Keep it, maintain it yourself/make friends with your local garage, run it til the doors fall off.
You can get that stone chip filled professionally by a vehicle glass company. A lot cheaper than buying a new screen.
I’m sure the brake discs have survived 85,000 miles, due to a very careful, considerate, driving! Excellent respect for your vehicle.
A new battery alone for my wife’s 2013 golf and my 2009 Freelander were both around £220 each so as you mention this gets changed £362 for the rest of the service doesn’t sound that bad for such a prestige car
It’s a credit to how good a car is to consider keeping it to the end of its life.
I have a 2020 F-Pace and love it so that I'm keeping mine til end of life

I believe the jagman in wigan can do this with service history ,thats were im going.@MrGB_UK

Do you not fancy upgrading to the Fpace SVR? I've just bought one and it's fantastic.
It’s a consideration. However I have the F Pace with the SVR engine and I done feel I need two 5.0 V8s, especially when this one is my daily that sits on the motorway. If I ever go down to one car, that would definitely be an option
Jaguar asked for a simple service 1500 chf! And I did it with 270 chf!! 😂😂😂
Car is amazing!!

Yes, I think you could be right! I've since moved to an independant for another car and it seems to be working well. Thanks!

Great video, great car, I would most definitely flip it and get myself a Cayenne or M class.
My bill was for £5,500 after just over one year of having my F Type. Bought it when it was 3 years old after mot and service the following year that was £550.00 then just after 12 weeks with no warning the dpf went on the car £1800 to fix and just out of warranty.

Sorry was F Pace 3.0 diesel Sport
I have a F pace special edition checkered flag 240 bhp awd 2020 model bought this year at 15700 miles and is supurb. What is your vehicle model?
This is a 2.0d R-Sport. Not as exciting as your Checkered Flag!
How on earth can they advise a Tyre change with 4/5 mm of tread remaining is totally ridiculous.
Unless its age related, what date is on the tyres ?
Great video can I ask do you put premium diesel or normal diesel
I've only ever put normal diesel in this car
Thanks
Leave them donuts bloomin heck
Awesome video as always. Just subbed to your channel, great content and very informative.
I use the Jag Specialist in Doncaster, I know it's slightly for you but worth it
A good independent workshop... I'd recommend my mechanic if you were in Norwich.
How much was the basic service? I must have missed that.
As long as your not living beyond your means then get whatever you want and can afford. I know many people who live far beyond their means just to keep up appearances.
Got my brothers Jag, what a complicated vehicle!! Engine light on, P 25A-913 not sure what that’s going to cost me!!! 2017 fpace!!
I think the answer is clear! SVR

Why not fix the stone chip
It's Stealership not Dealership!

That tracks - thanks for your thoughts :)
That’s cheap, similar service on my wrx sti cost nearly £900 😂
So why make a video to say you need new tyres & the windscreen is cracked & insinuate this is because its a Jaguar ? I am on my second F Pace & they are wonderful !
Ive had my F-Pace for 4 years and I can easily say the best vehicle I've ever owned
That is very reasonable for a luxury car. This video has taken time I will never get back also 82 is not 100k miles.
Did you change your timing belt. ??
Friend of mine owned one in Mallorca, five months got rid, total rubbish.
Did you change timing chain ??
Replace the car. That 1.5k is better off in your pocket or on a new car
Do the service yourself, John Bull printing kit for the service stamp, lol. Been doing it for years lol 🥸
My opinion if you trying to buy a luxury name vehicle, you shouldn’t pay attention to the price for maintenance.
