@@RodneyCooperFilmztechnically you need a commercial unit to have any warranty for a business anyway. So any pressure washer under $500 won't have a warranty
For foaming, have you tried using a 1.1mm orifice on your foam cannon? I a similar issue with my Karcher 1800 and the change made a noticeable difference.
My outlet will pop if I use a smaller orifice. But I discovered that if I want better foam, I just have to use more soap. I was able to get away with about 1oz of soap previously, but with thr Active I gotta use between around 2oz for good thick foam.
@@HammysShowcase bro 1 oz is very low , I think even the mjjc wants us to use 3 oz which is 900ml water and 100ml of soap. I think this should make a significant difference.
After taking back 3 Ryobi $99 units I purchased the Active. One burned up and two others kept pulsing nonstop when turned on. Hopefully the active has not issues. It should be here in a few days.
Highly unlikely you got 3 dead machines. Ryobi products are actually pretty good. When I first got my Ryobi I thought it had problems like you, and I replaced it twice before I realized it wasn't the machine that was the problem. Seeing as you are on your third machine it is likely due to your water supply or hose. 1. The garden hose you are using is too long. Anything longer than 50ft will seize up the machine and it will not work, same for the Active. 2. You don't have enough water flow from your spigot 3. You might not have enough psi from your spigot. 4. Not clearing the hose and machine of air before turning it on and running it. If any of these are the reason, you're going to have an issue with thr Active as well.
@@HammysShowcase They were defective machines. The first one worked fine two days. On the 3rd day it would continuously surge about every 3 seconds while on. The second one was working fine until it started burning. I don't know what was burning but the smell of burnt plastic/wire started. The 3rd one did the same as the first after a few uses. They all made a terrible squealing noise when you let off the sprayer. Hopefully the Active doesn't do the same. Spigot pressure is decent and the hose is 50ft. I always bleed the air before use.
It definitely rinses the car off faster like I mentioned, which is nice, but I mean, does that really matter to you? Also, from more experimenting, you do get better and thicker foam using this machine, but you do have to use more soap. So what really matters to you is the question? I got this as a Christmas gift, but I don't think I would've ever paid $350 for it with my own money.
also a steal braided hose is going to help more. longevity is better and rinsing time is important... as it saves you time and helps with things like water spots.. or soap drying
I also appreciate people's efforts to buy better and throw less away. So I appreciate companies that make longer lasting products. Even if they are more expensive in the beginning, the cost over the life of the unit should be lower.
Turns out I just needed to use more soap. Gotta use just under 2oz and it gives really good foam. Requires about 1.8 - 2oz of soap for a good thick foam. 1.5oz or less is alittle runny
Foam quality has to do with several factors, including dilution rate (as a result of orifice size and flow rate), and output pressure. You can’t judge the pressure washer’s foaming capabilities based on the parameters of this test. There are too many variables.
It did. I did some more experimenting after this video and figured out you just have to use more soap when using the Active 2.0. Gotta use about 2oz of soap instead of only 1 or 1.5oz. Not a huge deal. Using a smaller orifice would blow my circuits, draws too much power
I got this pressure washer and with my mjjc foam cannon the foam is insane. It had me switch to the smaller orfice for the active. I dont use a ton of soap either.
Interesting. I use the mjjc as well and I just can't seem to get the same thickness of foam that I do with my lower gpm pressure washer. I can't use the 1.1mm orifice tho because my outlet can't handle the extra amps it pulls

So no regrets from a sound perspective? I have the Ryobi as well and it's annoyingly loud. On video, the Active 2.0 sounds very similar. I know the 2.3 is coming out with a different motor but I'm not a pro... and dropping $650 on ANOTHER pressure washer seems like a bad purchase :) Great content.
It is very quiet in real life. Idk why it sounds so loud in video. When I'm using it, I almost don't even notice it's on. It is significantly more quiet than the Ryobi
As far as the foaming goes, have you tried Adam's Mega Foam car wash soap? I was hesitant to try it due to the cost ($61.00 for 1 gallon), but it was on sale on Amazon Prime Day so I purchased it. Holy moly, what a difference in foam over the Chemical Guys Maci Suds soap. Now there is no going back. You should give it a try. Great Video by the way.
Griots foaming surface wash is what I used in this video. I also use Adams. They both foam up about the same, but the griots is slightly more lubricated so I prefer it when handwashing
If your Karcher has the same gpm, no reason to buy this unit. Or if the rinsing power of your unit works for you then yeah, I'd say just keep using the Karcher
@@HammysShowcase yeah we shall see, temptation generally takes over and I’ll end up getting the 2.0 😂 same goes for the mjjc s v3, I already have the mtm 22.2 and the clear cheap amazon cannons, but I’ll end up buying the mjjc.
Only reason people think they need to have 2.0gpm is because of some TH-camrs telling them what to think since they are profiting off of it too. Anything with 1.2 on up will work just fine for this application and will have no problem using a foam cannon either.
I agree. I've been using my Active alot more since making this video and have come to the conclusion that it actually makes your foam runnier. Been using alot more soap than I normally did on my 1.4 gpm machine and I still can't get as good of foam.

Soap dilution, hard water and foam cannon orifice will affect foaming.

I have multiple of the same wash mits. Use one for each side. Wash from top down
