In 325 AD, the Council of Nicaea paved the way for the rejection of the literal Sonship of Christ and the belief in a three-in-one consubstantial god. In the Council of Laodicea in 364 AD, the church officially transferred the solemnity of Sabbath to Sunday. The Athanasian Creed which Pr Hatton loves so much was written some time between 400-500 AD. At that point, the church was certainly the apostate Catholic Church we know today!
Will history be repeated? Today, the SDA church has accepted the trinity doctrine. And when the time of trouble draws near, their acceptance of the trinity will also lead them to deny the Sabbath of the fourth commandment.
    Don't forget Sister White's warning about the "new organisation”, in which "the fundamental principles that have sustained the work for the last fifty years would be accounted as error". The quote goes on to say that "the Sabbath of course, would be lightly regarded [by this new organisation] as also the God who created it." {ISM 204}
Accepting the trinity doctrine, in a conscious rejection of the light available, will lead you to receive the mark of the beast. The question for the end times and the question for today is the same.
    Which God will you worship?

Arius's belief that the Spirit of God was also subservient to the Father and not of the same nature may of been his undoing. Such a teaching would not be from above.
Repetitively God calls that Spirit His own
So he said to me, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.
Jesus - the Spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me....
Jesus - the Father is living in me doing His work..
Jesus -But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
The divinity in Jesus is the Father. The fullness was pleased to dwell in Him.
      Father, Son, Holy Spirit
Fathers promise-In the last days I will pour out my Spirit
Regardless while Jesus uses truth and gives understanding He is not leading a rebellion.

Rev 3:14 say Jesus is 'the beginning of the creation of God". Col 1:15 says Jesus is "the firstborn of every creature". In both of these scriptures Jesus is of (or part of) creation. Is God a part of creation? The answer is "no". Jesus is a part of creation, because he was the first being ever created. God in turn used that being to create everything else.

@@DarienWhite-vm2hb That is bad hermeneutics. You need to study what firstborn actually means theologically and culturally in that context. Since Jesus is not a created being and Genesis says Adam was created, and 1 Corinthians 15 says Jesus was not.... The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. My suggestion is that you learn how to study the Bible in order to properly exegete a passage because you need to know what it means. .... In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made (John 1:1-3).

@tajjiintanzania6237 if God takes of his divine substance and gives it a will, persona of its own, then you have a being that shares divine nature yet is derived from and separate from the Father. Since divine substance is uncreated and eternal, Jesus would be technically Co eternal yet created simultaneously.
Like taking bricks from a house to build a new one, separate buildings, same materials, but one derived from the other. How is this idea problematic, thoughts?

What Arius was essentially saying is that Jesus was not and is not God. It was the Romans who believed that their Emperors became gods after death who elevated Jesus to the status of God. This was and is unacceptable to the Jews which was just fine for the pagan Romans who didn’t want them around anyway.

    • @naiman4535
      @naiman4535 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

What Arius actually said is that Jesus was divine, but was a lower order of divinity than God the Father, and therefore subservient to God the Father. Because Jesus was a lower order of divinity according to Arius' doctrine, he was a created being. To become fully exalted to divine status, and to sit at the right hand of God the Father after his resurrection, Jesus had to pass through some difficult tests - namely his crucifixion - and prove his loyalty to God even unto death. Because he did this, and humbled and emptied himself to the utmost, God gave him the name that is exalted above all other names. So says the Jesus Hymn from Philippians, which is consonant with an Arian Christology. The big strength of his teaching, said Bishop Arius, was that Jesus set a very strong moral example for the rest of humanity to follow.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
And who was the Word? Just a few verses later John clearly tells us
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” (John 1:14-15)
Heres another verse, this time from Paul.
“[God] saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which He gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began” (2 Tim 1:9)
Arius decided to go against scripture. Same as alot of the folks commenting on here. Thats why Constatine called a council to stop Arius's false doctrine. Out of ALL bishops present litterally only Arius and 2 others voted in favor for Arius's claims. Obviously the VAST MAJORITY of Bishops were all in concensus with the Trinity. Jews, Islam, Hinduism and even Arius all turned from the scripture. Although there may be similarities, the scripture clearly describes the Trinity. God Bless 🙏

Add to that, here are some scriptures from the old testement that point to the Trinity (and ill be quoting the Cepher for this since many other translations use corrupted manuscripts)
Genesis 1:26 - "And Elohiym said: Let *us* make man in *our* image, after *our* likeness." Notice the language used here (Us and our). If he is truly single in both essense and personhood, then *who* exactly is he addressing?
Genesis 3:22 - " And Yahuah Elohiym said: Behold the man is become as one of *us*, to know good and evil, and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat and live forever." Again, who is TMH addressing when he says "us"?
Genesis 11:6-7 - " And Yahuah said: Behold, the people are one, they have all one language.........Go, let *us* go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." Again who is the us he is talking to here?
Genesis 18:1-6: And *Yahuah* appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre....And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, *three men* stood by him: and when he saw *them* he ran to meet them from the tent door and *bowed* himself towards the ground. And said, My *Adonai*, if now I have found favour in your sight, pass not away, I pray you........ And *They* said: so do, as you have said."
First off, when Yah appeared to Abraham, notice that he appeared as a group of 3 persons, not one. Secondly, if he truly is one who shares his glory with no one, why then did he allow Abraham to offer worship thru a prostration towards the group of three, instead of one? And why didnt Yah reprove him for offering worship to the other 2 members (in light of the first commandment)? And finally, when Abraham made his requests to serve them, why did the scriptures use the pronoun "they" instead of "he" when referring to Yah's appearence at Mamre?
Plus we also have the instances in scripture where the Son and the Ruach are mentioned seperately
      (In regards to the Son)
Psalm 2:7 - "I will declare this decree: Yahuah has said unto me: You are my son: this day I have *begotten* thee."
Though it was david who wrote this psalm, it was a messianic prophecy in reference to the son that was given through inspiration of the Ruach. That being said, what is the meaning of the word "beget"? Does it not mean to father/generate/cause into being? And when the verb "to beget" is used, it is often in reference to a person or entity that is of the same *essence/nature* as the one who caused said person to be caused into existance. So for Yahusha to be begotten of the Father, he must have/be of the same *divine essence* as the Father. Otherwise he would not truly begotten, but MADE.
Isaiah 9:6 - "For unto us a child is born, and unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulders and his *name* shall be called *Wonderful Counselor, El Gibbor, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace* ." Again, this is another messianic prophecy given by inspiration of the Ruach. Now tell me, if Yahuah is truly one in both essense and personhood, and shares his glory with no one, why then would Yahusha be given not only the title of not only *Everlasting Father* but also *El Gibbor*, which translates to "The Mighty El" according to the footnote on page 751 of the Cepher. Because after all, if Yahusha is truly not Yah, then wouldnt granting him a title that belongs to Yah alone amount to blasphemy, breaking the first commandment? And if so, why would the Ruach inspire Isaiah to write something so seemingly contridictory?
      (In reference to the spirit)
Genesis 1:2 - "And the Ruach Elohiym moved upon the face of the waters."
Question (for the Arians in the comments). If he is truly one according to how you claim him to be (one in both essence and persons) why would the Prophet Moses make a distinction between Yah himself and his own Spirit, especially knowing that the Father is also spirit too? Why would his spirit be treated so differently from the rest of Yahuah that he is practically a distinct person from The Father?
Psalms 143:10 - Teach me to do your will, for you are my Elohiym: your *Ruach* is good; lead me into the land of uprightness."
Again, why does King David, in writing this psalm, directly addressed The Ruach as Good, thereby distinguishing between Yah and his Ruach so sharply that the Ruach can be considered a unique person like The Father?
Isaiah 48:16 - "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now *Adonai Yahuah* and his *Ruach* has sent me."
Yet again, why does Isaiah, in his address, make a sharp distinction between Yah and his Ruach, even going as far as to say that both sent him?
And please note, all of these verses are from the old testement. We havent even gotten into the new testement, where not only all 3 distinct persons are revealed but we also have Yahusha the Messiah claiming titles that belonged God alone, as well as accepting worship from created humans which surrounded him

Arius who was a priest was against the deification of Jesus, but not only him, Eusebius of Caesarea and Lucian the Martyr, they were the majority to reject the deification of Jesus, but in view of the intentions of Constantine to impose his sight which was the one the bishops of Alexandria and Constantinople, the majority of bishops signed the Nicene declaration because they knew that if they did not sign, they would be imprisoned or exiled, they preferred to sign and return to their respective territories advocate the true message of Jesus, namely the absolute unicity of God, but fortunately the mother of Constantine Helena (promoted to St. Helena later) who was monotheist put all his influence to bring Constantine back to the real time and Arius was invited to join the court of Constantinople in 335 and today many specialists have proved with proof that the current of Arius (and Eusebius of Caesarea and Lucian the Martyr and many other bishops and priests) ended up convincing Constantine to return to the true faith, moreover he promulgated a decree that ordered this reform. It is important to prove that between 325 and 381 (Council of Constantinople), which imposed the deification of the Holy Spirit, there were about five councils (or conferences) which are not mentioned in the ecclesiastical documents, why? because these 5 councils restored Christianity in its true dimension in accordance with the message of Jesus, namely the worship dedicated to God alone and that Jesus was of human nature came on earth to preach the word of God, these documents were simply burned .

The reasoning of this video is illogical: A son cannot fail to have the same nature as his parents. My son is human as much as I am human, thus if the Son is 'literally' the Son of God, then he necessarily share the same nature (uncreated, eternal, omnipotent, etc). Thus from Arius own premises it follows that the Son of God cannot be created in time.

Sons have the same human form as their father who brought them into existence. But a son cannot be his own father. That would make no sense.
Humans were created in God's image (genesis 1:26). That doesn't mean that humans are God too.
All the mountains, trees and animals were created by God. That doesn't mean that these creations take on the same nature as the Creator.
Jesus too was created in God's image (Colossians 1:15). That meant that Jesus reflected God-like qualities as do humans. Intelligence, the ability to communicate and listen among these.

@@tongakhan230 Your reasoning implies that there is no difference between humans and angels, and no difference between these two Jesus. Besides stating that Jesus just was in the image of God in the sense of every human would be redundant since Jesus also was a man. The bible does not make redundant statement. The problem is that Colossians 1:15 does not teach that Jesus was *created* in God's image (you are reading in to the text what is not there) it states that the Son is the image of the invisible God. The term "first born before all created" does not mean "created before all created" (which is incoherent, one cannot be *created* before *all* things created). The term "first born" in middle eastern context at this time meant that you are the heir of all that you father owns. Thus, Colossians 1:15 is saying that The Son was the image of the invisible God and the heir of all that the Father has created. This interpretation fits the cultural context and is confirmed in the verse after which states that everything was created through him and *to* him.

It’s this last phrase ("only begotten" used in the KJV, NASB and the NKJV) that causes problems. False teachers have latched onto this phrase to try to prove their false teaching that Jesus Christ isn’t God; i.e., that Jesus isn’t equal in essence to God as the Second Person of the Trinity. They see the word "begotten" and say that Jesus is a created being because only someone who had a beginning in time can be "begotten." What this fails to note is that "begotten" is an English translation of a Greek word. As such, we have to look at the original meaning of the Greek word, not transfer English meanings into the text.
So what does monogenes mean? According to the Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature (BAGD, 3rd Edition), monogenes has two primary definitions. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." This is its meaning in Hebrews 11:17 when the writer refers to Isaac as Abraham’s "only begotten son" (KJV). Abraham had more than one son, but Isaac was the only son he had by Sarah and the only son of the covenant. Therefore, it is the uniqueness of Isaac among the other sons that allows for the use of monogenes in that context.
The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." This is the meaning that is implied in John 3:16 (see also John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9). John was primarily concerned with demonstrating that Jesus is the Son of God (John 20:31), and he uses monogenes to highlight Jesus as uniquely God’s Son-sharing the same divine nature as God-as opposed to believers who are God’s sons and daughters by adoption (Ephesians 1:5). Jesus is God’s “one and only” Son.
The bottom line is that terms such as "Father" and "Son," descriptive of God and Jesus, are human terms that help us understand the relationship between the different Persons of the Trinity. If you can understand the relationship between a human father and a human son, then you can understand, in part, the relationship between the First and Second Persons of the Trinity. The analogy breaks down if you try to take it too far and teach, as some pseudo-Christian cults (such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses), that Jesus was literally "begotten" as in “produced” or “created” by God the Father.

Only begotten (monogenes - Gr) is also used for Isaac.
(Hebrews 11:17) By faith Abraham, when he was tested, as good as offered up Isaac-the man who had gladly received the promises attempted to offer up his ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON.
Isaac was Abraham's only begotten son through his wife Sarah, the woman with the promise.
Sons can never be their own father. That makes no sense.

This is an interesting video that explains exactly why christians saw Arius as a threat to Christianity. His belief just negates the divinity of Christ. If he has a beginning he is not God. If he doesn't share the essence of God the father, well he is not God. Making its sacrifice meaningless. Not only that but Arius's idea just makes Christ a lesser god, that's just politeism.
Its shocking to see that the same arrogance we see in protestants also ocurred in such ancient times. But it makes me hopeful that the Christian Church will ultimately prevail against heresy.

    • @RestitutionMinistries
      @RestitutionMinistries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Sadly, El Chango, what you say is very wrong in many ways.
Let me ask you a very simple question... How are you a human being?
Simply because your earthly father is human, so naturally because you are begotten of your earthly father, and he is human, you naturally take on his human nature, or humanity. It cannot be simpler than this.
I put it to you that it is exactly the same with Christ, the only begotten Son of God. His Father, being God, would naturally beget a divine Son, who was of the same nature as His Heavenly Father, and that very nature is God.
Just because he is begotten of God and had a beginning does not change the simple fact that because His Father is God, Christ is also God, by nature inherited from His Father.
I am no less human because my earthly father is human. I inherit exactly the same humanity as my father.
So, likewise, Christ is no less divine or Godlike, just because He was begotten of God the Father and had a beginning.
Your reasoning is totally flawed and doesn't make any sense at all.
This belief does not negate His divinity, it confirms it because it shows that He inherited His divinity from His divine Father, making him equally divine.
Because His Father was in very essence God in every sense, so His only begotten Son, from the days of eternity, would also inherit the very essence of God.
      It's that simple.
And it doesn't make "Christ a lesser god" as you state, but fully equal to God his Father in every essence.

This is a misunderstanding of Jesus sacrifice that contradicts scripture. Read Romans 5 carefully. Jesus sacrifice was sufficient because he WAS an obedient human being and described in detail by Paul in his letter to the Romans. The concept that Jesus being God in the flesh doesn't come from the Bible, it's a doctrine of men that contradicts scripture which makes it the actual heresy in this situation.

I looked at two writings emanating from Muhammad that struck me, in his time, that is to say in the 7th century, he sends a letter to Heraclius, emperor of Byzantium inviting him to embrace Islam, it was a sober letter, in the end and this is the important thing he said to him: "if you refuse, then you will bear the sins of the Arians", yet at that time, only the great figures of the church knew these truths especially the ideological conflict over the divinity of Jesus, a conflict that had already begun since the 2nd century and lasted until that time.
The 2nd written is a hadith certified by the Muslim specialists of the Hadith as being authentic and in which Muhammad says "Before God sent me, he observed men, Arabs and non-Arabs, he despised them, EXCEPT CERTAIN COMMUNITIES THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK "and knowing the message of Muhammad who pronounces pure and absolute monotheism, the latter regarded these communities of Christians as true believers, and he proclaimed very clearly that these Christians were on the right path. So tell me who is right and who is wrong. That is why I say without a shadow of a doubt that all the Christian dogma established after the alliance sealed between the Trinitarian bishops and the imperial power in 325 is doubtful and does not reflect in any way the message of Christ.

    arian know that because
"The doctrine of the Trinity appeared centuries after Jesus was crucified, and the concept of the Trinity did not exist in the early Christian period. Don’t believe it? Here is the data:
    1. Ignatius of Antioch (circa 35-107 AD) wrote about the relationship between Jesus and God, but his focus was more on Christology and martyrdom than on the systematic formulation of the Trinity doctrine.
    2. Justin Martyr (circa 100-165 AD) also discussed the relationship between the Father and the Son, as well as the concept of the Logos (Word), but the systematic development of the Trinity doctrine was not fully present in his writings.
    3. Tertullian (circa 155-240 AD): Tertullian was an early Church Father who systematically used the term "Trinity" (in Latin, "Trinitas") to describe the concept of God as Three in One. In his work "Adversus Praxean" (Against Praxeas), Tertullian discusses the relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, though his concept was not as fully developed as it would later become.
    4. Origen (circa 185-254 AD): Origen was an early theologian who discussed the concept of the Trinity in his work, especially in "De Principiis" (On Principles). Origen taught about the relationship between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, although he did not systematically develop the doctrine of the Trinity.
    5. Athanasius of Alexandria (circa 296-373 AD): Athanasius was a key figure in the debate against Arianism and a strong supporter of the Trinity doctrine. In his work "De Incarnatione Verbi Dei" (On the Incarnation of the Word of God), he explained that Jesus Christ is of the same essence as God the Father, which laid the foundation for the understanding of the Trinity.
    6. The Council of Nicaea (325 AD): This council issued the Nicene Creed which established that Jesus Christ is "of one essence with the Father" (homoousios), marking an important step in officially articulating the doctrine of the Trinity. This means that after this council, the Father and the Son were considered the same, whereas before the council, the Father and the Son were not considered the same.
    7. The Council of Constantinople (381 AD): This council continued the development of the Trinity doctrine by clarifying the role of the Holy Spirit as "Lord" and "Giver of Life," and affirming the equality between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This council added the Holy Spirit as a deity, whereas before the council, the Holy Spirit was not included as God.
In conclusion, Christianity has tailored its worship of God through the decisions of Church Fathers, and it will be interesting to see if there are further additions in the coming centuries."

Scripture has plenty of examples of angels not being worshipped and told men not to worship them. However, when Thomas saw Jesus after the resurrection he said, “Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Unlike all of the angels, Jesus did not rebuke him. God=worship. Teacher=respect and, if a great one, honor for sure.

All the attributes of all gods that ever existed are those concocted and assigned to them by the ones, who created them, man. Won't go into detail, but was raised in the Roman religion. I was allowed to read the family Bible. It was revealed to me at age 9 that Yahushua proceeded forth from the Father, Yahuah, and from that point I seriously questiond the " Trinity" doctrine which all of her daughters, the protesting churches, also hold fast. Arius was correcct in his knowledge of The Godhead as it was also revealed to Peter when e said that Yahushua was th Christ. Also, John writes that he and the other disciples of Yahushua beheld the very glory, the right hand of GOD; John 1:3
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
    So many are walking on the wide road to destruction because they believe men instead of GOD's Holy Word;
    Acts 4:19
“But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.”
    Genesis 1:3
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
    Proverbs 8:30
“Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;”
    Revelation 21:23
“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
    John 3:19
“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
    John 8:12
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
    Psalms 104:2
“Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:”
    John 8:42
“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.”
    John 20:17
“Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.”

It seems and this is what I have understood, that Arius was trying to argue with logic. If Christ was God, and omnipresent, coeternal... Then he must not be begotten, I mean he was always there, present. But if God ( Father) has begotten Jesus, this means at a certain point he was not there, not existing. Since trinitarians refuted this idea of Christ having a beginning ( bcoz it goes against the attributes of God), the only logical explanation left is that the sonship of Christ is metaphorical ( video 10:27 and on). So after this, what did he believe in since we don't have many scriptures about this ? I believe that the answer is That he believed : God is one, the omnipresent.. and that Christ is not a god as he has a beginning .. Just like what he believed in the first place, which goes PERFECTLY with the first commandment! And he came to the conclusion that Jesus being the Sun of God is metaphorical as it's the only way out. And just as "your father "is used metaphorically "my father " could also be the case, like why not! Besides, there is no use of playing with words like "begotten " "made" when the first commandment is clear and many passages state to worship only One God, (the Father) and that He (Christ ) seeks no glory from men...

    • @Totem360
      @Totem360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@salisophia6595 It could also be understood as His Sonship is the expression of his full humanity and still be co-eternal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit in one Godhead. That makes more sense to me. However these issues should not eclipse that Christ is the way, the Truth and the Life and that no man comes to the Father but by Christ nor should they eclipse that Christ died for the sins of men on the cross, was buried and resurrected on the third day making mankind a way to the Father. In hindsight is looks like Arius got a bum deal as has so often been the case from egotistical men. I have not understood why us men have to think we can understand fully the rather mystical mind of God on all matters and then persecute those who have a differing thought on what are, to my mind, secondary issues.

Personally I study GOD's Word and use HIS Word to discern what it says. What did Yehoshua Say:
      John 5:39
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
      Genesis 1:3
“And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

“Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:”

      John 8:12
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
      John 9:5
“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
      John 12:36
“While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.”
      Revelation 21:23
“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
      John 5:31
“If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.”
      John 5:32
“There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.”
      John 5:36
“But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.”
      John 8:18
“I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.”
      John 10:25
“Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.”
      John 15:27
“And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”
      John 12:50
“And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
      John 14:10
“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”
      Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
      John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Oh, THE WORD IS GOD! The Father IS the invisible, living WORD. The Father IS the Creator. The Creator spoke and "LIGHT" proceeded forth from Himself.
      Psalms 138:2
“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”
      John 8:42
“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.”
      Proverbs 8:8
“All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.”
      Numbers 23:19
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
      John 6:63
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
It is easier to to describe ourselves to describe Yahweh, our Father. When we see our image in the mirror we only see our fleshly temple. When we speak we hear our spirit who is in charge of our flesh. When our right hand dies our spirit, our living essense, lives on and does not die. Our flesh is only a covering over our spirit. There is not three of any of us, we are all one wrapped up in our right hand thhrough which we do our work. BUT, it is us telling what our right hand, our flesh, wat to do though wde are the one's doing the work. We cannot see oiurselves. It by thee vehicle of the flesh that we can be seen.
As you can see, the flesh can do NOTHING on it's own. When you or I, our spirits, leaave our house of flesh it ceases to exist because there is no ;ife of itself. The flesh cannot function without the essense of life dwelling in it.
Describing the Godhead is as easy as describing Yahweh and HIS only Glory, Yahoshua. The living WORD OF LIFE, Yahweh dwells in His only SON, Yahoshua, and the SPOKEN WORD is the HOLY SPIRIT, which is the testimony of Yahoshua: Revelation 19:10
“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Are you quoting from Zechariah? The Hebrew word for one is "Echad" but it isn't considered entirely singular. Just like one group, one couple, etc.
Here are two examples of it in the Bible.
      Genesis 11:6
The Lord said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
      Genesis 2:24
That is why a man leaves his father and is UNITED to his wife, and they become ONE flesh. Singular words can refer to more than only one.

It seems to me that this video twists the doctrines of Arianism to serve their own particular ends and agenda. Their focus seems to be skewed towards the Seventh Day Adventist Church, as if this denomination were somehow more important than all the other Christian denominations. Why the Seventh Day Adventist Church? Beats me! The Council of Nicea, which condemned Arianism as a heresy, was convened long, long before the Seventh Day Adventists, or any other Protestant denomination for that matter, were even a gleam in some church father's eye. I have a more universal, and I believe unbiased, understanding of Arianism. And I don't think you will get a true and objective understanding of the doctrine or history of Arianism from watching this video.

Can you share some of those sources? I came out of an Arian godhead church. After seeing things from both sides it sure seems that those who believe Jesus was a created being are the ones that make scripture divisive. Not those who speak of unity and oneness of the Godhead. With the commonality of anger that comes out of the Arianism doctrine it seems to be the tree that bears bad fruit, and ultimately it leads to a works-based doctrine. I personally find that God’s grace is big enough for these doctrinal misunderstandings. But it seems that arians can’t seem to find that grace.

@@BSDrumming You came out of an Arian Godhead church? What church might that be exactly? I'm curious! It's interesting when you say that you feel that your Arian Godhead church was making scripture divisive. Of course, the ones who had the strongest take on the absolute Unity of God were the Jews, who did not elevate anyone or anything other than God to divine status. In other words, three-in-one is NOT the same as being simply ONE - period. The best book I read dealing with the Arian controversy and other Christological controversies of the early church was called The Jesus Wars - you can probably get it on Amazon. That and Wikipedia articles about Bishop Arius will give you all you need to know. An interesting thing about Bishop Arius that made him such a formidable opponent to the forces of Nicene orthodoxy was that he was a songwriter, and composed little songs or ditties conveying his message, which were catchy tunes that could easily be passed on. My own personal view is that the New Testament itself does not actually speak monolithically with one voice regarding doctrinal matters. For example, the Jesus Hymn from chapter 11 of Paul's epistle to the Philippians is very consonant with an Arian viewpoint. And when Peter gives his speech to the multitudes on the Day of Pentecost, he calls Jesus a man who God favored by raising him up in his resurrection - but if you read it carefully, nowhere does Peter actually say in that speech that Jesus IS God. Modern Christians reading that speech will assume that Peter thought Jesus was divine, because that is the nature of the theological glasses or blinders they have on. The first Jewish Christians of the Jerusalem Church did not see Jesus as being divine - the divinity of Jesus was introduced by Paul in the gentile Christianity he formulated, making Jesus over into a dying and rising savior deity after the fashion of the old Hellenistic mystery religions. The first step towards the divinization of Jesus was an adoptionist Christology, which saw Jesus as being adopted as God's son - this is the Christological viewpoint of Mark, who sees Jesus as being adopted as God's Son at his baptism. John's gospel, which was the last gospel to be written, has the most high and exalted Chrstology, seeing Jesus as being eternally coexistent with God the Father as the Word, who then took on human form in his incarnation as Jesus Christ. If you want to find any statement in which Jesus himself clearly states that he is divine, you have to go to the Gospel of John.

Nai Man thanks for your lengthy reply. I won’t be able to address all of it yet as I’m on a phone on the way to the dog park!
The church I grew up in was a “body of Christ” church. We were not affiliated with any specific denomination but were most closely linked to Pentecostal. Trinitarian views were looked at with degradation. Our entirety of belief regarding the gospel is similar to that on Mormons and SDA. Those who saw the godhead as 3-in-1 were lost and were not saved. And we believed you are saved by Jesus initially so you could become perfect in order to enter God’s Kingdom. It wasn’t . I have found this to be a common belief when Jesus is just a man or prophet. And I also find that those that believe Jesus was just a man/angel/prophet also feel more closely linked to Muslims than other Christians. This is incredibly sad to me as I have family that I cannot discuss some of these things with. The conversation always turns out as anger towards me.
Anyway, I don’t believe there is anything inherently wrong with any of the scripture you referenced despite the differences. I’ve made my peace with it. And I do believe God has enough grace for whatever misconceptions any or all of us may have.

Because “the beginning” can mean “in the time before anything else was.” ... Yeshua is the word, aka "wisdom" like Proverbs 8:22-31. Also, in the original scriptural language (Greek), this verse can be read differently - here's an excerpt of the NET translation footnote: tn Or "and what God was the Word was." Colwell's Rule is often invoked to support the translation of eós (qeos) as definite ("God") rather than indefinite ("a god") here. However, Colwell's Rule merely permits, but does not demand, that a predicate nominative ahead of an equative verb be translated as definite rather than indefinite. - For more info, read the NET translation (*Christian Scholar Daniel B. Wallace was apart of overseeing the production of NET).

So, Islam has no savior and Muslims will die in their sins: for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And there's only one savior, the one who died for our sins. If Jesus did not die, then we are all going to die in our sins, just like the Muslims. Jesus plainly said, "If you do not believe that I am he (the prophesied Messiah), then you will die in your sins." That includes ALL of us on the earth. Muslims have no hope in their false prophet Muhammad. Jesus is the only name under heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved. Muhammad knew nothing of this fact. Neither do Muslims.

The Seventh Day Adventist Church, for all its pious defense of the Biblical Seventh Day Sabbath (Saturday), dashes its own testimony to the ground by insisting that Sabbath is NOT a day of rest as God commanded, but a day of obligation to "go to church". Keeping Sabbath holy does NOT require going to church. Keeping Sabbath holy requires that we do on the Seventh Day what God did. HE RESTED!!! FULL STOP!!! This obedience alone vividly distinguishes God's people from the world. That world includes even the most pious of the SDA churches. My prayer is that those SDAs with a true heart for God will come out of their SDA churches and worship God in spirit and in truth and keep God's Holy Sabbath as God commanded us to do forever.

2 And the angel said unto me: What beholdest thou? And I said: I behold many nations and kingdoms.
3 And he said unto me: These are the nations and kingdoms of the Gentiles.

5 And the angel said unto me: Behold the formation of a church which is most abominable above all other churches, which slayeth the saints of God, yea, and tortureth them and bindeth them down, and yoketh them with a yoke of iron, and bringeth them down into captivity.
6 And it came to pass that I beheld this great and abominable church; and I saw the devil that he was the founder of it.
7 And I also saw gold, and silver, and silks, and scarlets, and fine-twined linen, and all manner of precious clothing; and I saw many harlots. 8 And the angel spake unto me, saying: Behold the gold, and the silver, and the silks, and the scarlets, and the fine-twined linen, and the precious clothing, and the harlots, are the desires of this great and abominable church.
9 And also for the praise of the world do they destroy the saints of God, and bring them down into captivity. (Book of Mormon 1 Nephi 13:1-9)
    And further:
"20 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, beheld that they did prosper in the land; and I beheld a book, and it was carried forth among them.
21 And the angel said unto me: Knowest thou the meaning of the book?
22 And I said unto him: I know not.
23 And he said: Behold it proceedeth out of the mouth of a Jew. And I, Nephi, beheld it; and he said unto me: The book that thou beholdest is a record of the Jews, which contains the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; and it also containeth many of the prophecies of the holy prophets; and it is a record like unto the engravings which are upon the plates of brass, save there are not so many; nevertheless, they contain the covenants of the Lord, which he hath made unto the house of Israel; wherefore, they are of great worth unto the Gentiles.
24 And the angel of the Lord said unto me: Thou hast beheld that the book proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew; and when it proceeded forth from the mouth of a Jew it contained the fulness of the gospel of the Lord, of whom the twelve apostles bear record; and they bear record according to the truth which is in the Lamb of God.
25 Wherefore, these things go forth from the Jews in purity unto the Gentiles, according to the truth which is in God.
26 And after they go forth by the hand of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, from the Jews unto the Gentiles, thou seest the formation of that great and abominable church, which is most abominable above all other churches; for behold, they have taken away from the gospel of the Lamb many parts which are plain and most precious; and also many covenants of the Lord have they taken away.
27 And all this have they done that they might pervert the right ways of the Lord, that they might blind the eyes and harden the hearts of the children of men.
28 Wherefore, thou seest that after the book hath gone forth through the hands of the great and abominable church, that there are many plain and precious things taken away from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God.
29 And after these plain and precious things were taken away it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles; and after it goeth forth unto all the nations of the Gentiles, yea, even across the many waters which thou hast seen with the Gentiles which have gone forth out of captivity, thou seest-because of the many plain and precious things which have been taken out of the book, which were plain unto the understanding of the children of men, according to the plainness which is in the Lamb of God-because of these things which are taken away out of the gospel of the Lamb, an exceedingly great many do stumble, yea, insomuch that Satan hath great power over them. (Book of Mormon 1 Nephi 13:20-29)
Eventually, there will be two churches:
"10 And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." (Book of Mormon, 1 Nephi 14:10)
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accepts the Book of Mormon as scripture as well as the prophecies of Joseph Smith and his secesors. We reject the Trinity as defined by the early Catholic councils, and we do not hold that the Bible contains all scripture from the past, nor do we hold to a closed canon of scripture. The only reason scripture ceased was because the church fell into apostasy and lost the gift of prophecy which is the true testimony of Jesus.

How self centered can one be to believe that God is limited to your closed narrow mind. How worldly and lacking in faith can you possibly be to constrain the creator of the Universe to your worldly understanding? God is not subject to your notion of having to have a beginning like we humans do to be a son. God the Son has always existed with His Father. He does not have to come after the father to be a Son. God does not have to follow our logic for he is the one that created our logic. Therefore, the teachings of Arius are wrong and minimize God the Son, which is blasphemy and a denial of faith.

"We acknowledge One God, alone ingenerate, alone Everlasting, alone Unbegun, alone True, alone having Immortality, alone Wise, alone Good, alone Sovereign; Judge, Governor, and Providence". What a statement! What an exercise in utter futility! The hidden things belong to God, the revealed things, as in all the God breathed scriptures, belong to us that we may mature in righteousness. How on earth does the man constructed statement produce righteousness. God Himself will never give an answer in this life regarding the above. God has never felt the need to give answer to Greek philosophical debates about words and abstract forms. God is all about working out our salvation in our love for one another. By this only do people realize that we are disciples and the world praises God for our good works. The world sees the divisions from the above controverses and blaspheme God because of it. You do not whip people into subjugation by accusation of heresy and excommunication, sometimes even executions. Paul said bad men would come into the church as soon as they have gone, and by golly he was right. They have been in the church for almost two millennia and are very much controlling the church today. This is why Jesus has to now come to the individual who would earnestly repent, through continual discipline, of the wretchedness, pitifulness, blindness, nakedness and poverty. He no longer comes into the church, He only comes into the individual to sup with them. I do not think the church, and by that I mean the vast majority of those who profess to be Christians, I think we are talking in the millions, understand how awful as situation the church is in. She IS going to get spat out. To the individual I would say, the sun is almost setting, the day is almost up, THE day is almost here, be earnest and repent. God is Holy. His Holt plan from the beginning is to make man in our image, Jesus made that happen. We are now to grow up into Him so that we reflect God as the mature man, who is the one made after His image. If your Character, we are talking about who you are on the inside, is not becoming more like Jesus, then you are doing it all wrong. You are not keeping in step with the Holy Spirit of sanctification into the new man, the mature man, into Christ, into the one after the image of God. Do it now whilst you still have the chance. today, if you hear His Voice, listen and do. The above will never get you the new and right clothes for the special meal at the end of the age. What I recommend will. How much I do not know, but the more you have the less impure, ashamed and guilty you will be.

Since History is written by the winners, it is no surprise that Arius has had a raw deal and that today, those who do not believe in the trinity are branded heretics or cults. It is obvious to any fair, open minded person that the doctrine of the trinity evolved over a period of time. The God of Judaism and the OT is strictly unitarian, not trinitarian. Jesus was a Jew who prayed to and worshiped YHWH. To the first Christians, he was the Christ, the SON of God. After the death of the Apostles, the debate begins on the exact relationship between the Father and The Son (The HS is not even in the picture yet) and as a result of using Greek philosophical terminology and ideas, we begin to see the abandoning of the original scriptural position and the rise of binitarianism. This would later evolve again into trinitarianism. For all their confusion, at least the early Church Fathers were all subordinationists.

@@jeramilltua-requena1497a being can be divine and not be God almighty. There are myriads of myriads of angels, and they are all referred to as sons of God and are indeed divine and mighty. Being born of a virgin and divine doesn’t mean he is God almighty, that doesn’t make sense

Correct. The so-called Holy Trinity doctrine has been the PRIMARY measure used by nominal Christianity to determine who is and who is not a cult and heretical.

    I believe. From Brazil.
Think about it: in pushing Jesus upward to make him God, a gap is created. Guess who fits in that gap? Churches, institutions, pope, pastors, priests, whoever. They won't leave the mediator's seat! It's convenient for them to perpetuate the lie. Why woudn't jews or muslims denounce it then? They'd correct the core heresy - politeism - hidden in trinity

    • @Unknown86483
      @Unknown86483 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The trinity is complicated, and it might seem like polytheism, but you need to think a bit on this subject to understand, to research and to read the Bible, the old testament to see if the trinity is mentioned. The spirit of God is mentioned (the holy spirit) in genesis 1:1-2, we already know the son is mentioned in for example in Isaiah 53, and God is mentioned throughout the bible. It's as simple as that.

      171. O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say about God except the truth. Jesus Christ, son of Mary, is the Messenger of God , and His Word which He conveyed to Mary, and a Spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say, “Trinity.” Refrain, for your own good. Allah is only One God. Glory be to Him-that He should have a child. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on earth, and Allah is a sufficient Protector.

Actually Arius got it right. But was overwhelmed by the majority. He was among the FEW.

@Local83 - Devoted to God : The Greek word is Hades. Translated as Hell by the KJV.
      Here is what it says.
(Matthew 16:18) Also, I say to you: You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my congregation, and the gates of the Grave will not overpower it.
For this to prove true, the Christian Congregation has to die and go to the grave. But the grave will not overpower or prevail over it. It will be resurrected. Jesus has restored his True Congregation during these last days.
If someone boasts that "No jail can hold me", he must first go to jail and them break free for his words to prove true.
After the death of the Apostles, Satan took over the Church and it basically died. False beliefs such as the Trinity , immortality of the soul, hell fire torment and such came to be labelled as 'Christian'.
After Paul's death this is what he prophesied would happen.
(Acts 20:30) and from among you yourselves men will rise and SPEAK TWISTED THINGS to draw away the disciples after themselves.
Just reason. If a Council presided on by a pagan Roman Emperor was needed to establish what the Christian faith should be, it would mean that no follower of Jesus knew it before. Which doesn't make any sense.
Here is Paul's advice to Christians.
1 Corinthians 4:6.....that through us you may learn the rule: “Do not go beyond the things that are written,”
If we stay with what the Bible teaches, we should find ourselves among the FEW who love truth and will be saved (Matthew 7:14).

@Local83 - Devoted to God : Jesus was talking about his Christian Congregation.
      Read Matthew 16:18 carefully.
If the RCC was the one true church why did the Protestants break away? Are they the apostates?

    • @tongakhan230

@Local83 - Devoted to God : The word prevail or overpower means something lasting. Jesus resurrected his true Congregation in these last days.
Thus, the grave or a deathlike state did not prevail over it.
What was the point of Jesus even mentioning the grave if his congregation wasn't heading to it?

The problem with the Orthodox/Catholic church ultimately is that it says “God is one but he’s also three. Jesus always existed but he’s also begotten by the Father. Jesus is fully god and fully man but there’s no mixing but he’s also one person with two natures.” They say all of this and, when you try to make logical sense out of it, get mad and call you a heretic. And you have to ask why they’re mad: are you really doing something wrong, or are you doing something they don’t want to admit they never did?
If you gave someone a copy of the nicene creed and asked them what it said about the son, they’d say that Jesus was born from God before everything exisited, and the church would tell them that that’s Arianism and run them off.
