Tipper, thank you. I'm not a cook or a gardener, but watching you prepare the peppers for pickling and making the cake and hearing your voices, soothes me. I can tell that you love growing food and preparing it for your family, as well as your Church family. I love how Cori and katey(?) help you so much. I also thank Cori for her bible study teaching. I am older than all of you, except Granny maybe, and I resisted watching it because of pride. She drew the humility out of me as I listened to her sincerity and love of the Word of God. She had something to teach this old dog. I love you all.
I enjoyed watching you cook & watching Corie scurrying around the kitchen, helping keep things cleared away, I felt like I was sitting there in your kitchen watching ❤❤
Ah, yes. Corrie understands what it is to be a cooker. You prepare all the delights and you just watch everyone have a better day because you cooked. Great job Tipper, she understands what a simple pleasure food can be.
Hey Tipper and Family! I finally got to make your cornbread! I currently do not own an iron skillet so I had to wait awhile to make it. O my goodness that was some of the best cornbread I have ever made or eaten! It made my Dad's birthday extra special. Next time I will have to make a double batch because everybody gobbled it up : ) Thank you so much for writing that cookbook with Jim Casada and for the sweet personal note you wrote for Dad in his copy. It made his 86th birthday one to remember. Our family wishes your family (including your fans out there) a gentle holiday season. Love you!
Y’all had a really busy two days of food prep and cooking. That cake looked so delicious! Like Granny , my mom let me cook when I was young too and I still love to prepare, cook and bake. I find cooking very enjoyable and relaxing. I agree good food makes people happy and it makes me happy to see those I cook for enjoy what I’ve made. It’s one of my blessings to serve others with meals. I feel the same about my sewing. When I make a quilt for someone, there is no greater reward to hear them go on about it. I don’t make fancy quilts, and they are not even close to perfect, but when they turn out well and others love them, it blesses my heart beyond words.
I sprinkle a small amount of cornmeal in the hot skillet right before I pour in the cornbread batter. It makes the crust even more crispy and delicious. Great video.
What a wonderful video, Tipper! Thanks, as always for letting us join you in your kitchen, especially on such a busy day. As I watched I got out my copy of your cookbook to mark the recipes for the cake and the chicken and dumplings ~ I will be trying both! I am always reminded of being in the kitchen with my mom and my grandmas when you cook with the girls. You continue to bring me a sense of peace in this frightening world ~ watching you and your family is a blessing. Thank you again.
I have to always wear an apron unless I plan on wearing whatever I’m cooking. 😂. I like to cook for others as well, especially for church. I made a pumpkin cake for my ladies this morning and they were tickled to pieces. Since I made up the recipe, none of them has ever had it. As usual, I made sure to bring a copy of the recipe to share with them.
I saw a quote somewhere recently that said something like you can have a spotless kitchen or homemade meals but not both at the same time 😂😂 I identified with that so much! My counter tops are currently covered with apples and the dehydrator running non stop, as well as kitchen tools and bowls that never get put away where they go because as soon as they get cleaned I’m using them for something else! Loved watching y’all cook, always something good going on in Tipper’s kitchen! ❤
I totally enjoyed this video. It seemed like i was right there with you and sweet Corie. She is such a sweetheart. Keep up the good work. My Mother was a Big Cooker!!! She cooked cornbread and biscuits everyday of her life for 50± years. I miss her so much.
So true about the peppers, Tipper! I lived & learned one time slicing some jalapeños up for basic nachos. My hands were tingling and stinging. Now I use gloves, just as you did here. All that is beautiful bounty in your kitchen. I bet the dinner at church was delicious and plentiful. THANK YOU Tipper, as always! 🙌🏼 💞
Another great video! I have quite a bit of knowledge on the black walnuts, my dad and some of the neighbors did a lot with them. Learning techniques to hull them and crack them and then all the different uses. The neighbors made handmade white oak baskets and would make stain from the walnut hulls for their baskets. Last year we were able to get some walnuts and I cracked them and put a bunch away in the freezer I am still using them for recipes such as yours they really add a good flavor to cakes and cookies. I know i ramble a lot in my comments (brain fog due to heart failure) but i truely enjoy the traditional things that you share and i fear a lot of this knowledge will be lost in the future generations.
Thanks SO much!! Seeing yall working so hard in the kitchen reminded me that the HOLIDAYS are just around the corner! Would love to find that recipe for your chicken and dumplings, and please, your cookbook!! My wife and I were born and raised in Southside Virginia. I cook the VA. Ham for Christmas and she (bless her heart) does everything else inside in the kitchen. After thirty years, this arrangement works pretty well! Thanks again for all you do. Yall are a real treasure!
I love black walnuts in a cake they taste soooo good my wife used to make a cake just like that I loved it missed those days love your shows thanks for sharing .🌺
Your channel is a calming activity for me. It makes me forget ,for the moment , the uneasy place the world can be. Thank you all for that. I got my cookbook today .it is an interesting read aside from the cooking parts. It is also a beautiful book.!
Awwww, this video was precious🥰. Loved seeing you all bond together over preparing foods you love! What wonderful memories you are making. I have precious memories of been in the kitchen with my sweet momma and Mamaw watching them cook and then helping them as well. I am carrying on that tradition with my sweet grandchildren💗🥰. Enjoyed seeing the love and affection you have for one another. What a blessing! God bless you all🙏🏻. Hope Matt & Austin have a successful hunt🦌.
I appreciate your videos so much. My husband and I are just now researching into starting to garden, and subsequently, canning. I've learned the hard way to never trust anyone else's heat scale when it comes to spice. "They ain't hot" almost always means they certainly are most definitely HOT! 🌶🤣
I love that you had to run over to Granny's to visit with loved ones. I miss having family so close by. The cake looked like a winner for sure! I love any dessert w coconut! We don't have church dinners as much as we used to, miss them also. God bless.😊🧡🍂
I love that you left the blurry part in, I love so many things about each video y’all put up, but the imperfections are what make each video so special ❤ I love that in a world of perfectionism I can come here and feel at home.
I enjoyed your video I so glad you girls had a good girls night and olive got spoiled too the church people will love your food and cories ❤️all of you Shelby
Youns are just the sweetest! I love watching you and your girl's channels! Your morals and values along with your cooking is very similar to what I was brought up with. I am very blessed to have a Momma that is the best cooker and has handed down her recipies to me, I cherish them with all my heart along with the memories that was made when eating her food. Keep sharing, we need more of this on TH-cam!
Thank you! I love your style of communication! You and your family are decent people. Your family comes off as a loving group and I know this has contributed to your success. We share our love when we eat together. You are not a phony. I believe that people in order to put themselves together should ask": Am I a decent person or do I pretend that I am a decent person?
That was such a sweet video. Watching you and Corie cooking and Katie popping in once and awhile . The peppers look so colorful in your jars. The cake looked delicious.
Being born and raised in Fort Smith Arkansas I still make bereavement meals Chicken and dumplings along with a side of green beans and some type of dessert. It was awesome hearing y’all think that’s a great meal!! Love y’all’s family and this channel ❤
Mmm Church Potluck. I love to cook for Church and eat with my Church family. I think that I will make chicken and dumplings for Sunday dinner tomorrow.
My mother wouldn't even let us come in the kitchen while she cooked. She did, however, pacify my sister and I by giving us a small bit of biscuit dough to play with while she cooked. Later, when we were old enough, about 12, I got to help with simple things like peeling potatoes or grating cheese. She was also very generous when it came to washing dishes. She 'let' us wash all we wanted. 😆 I love to cook now but it's only me at home so I don't cook often, mostly on birthdays and holidays. I love how close you and Katie and Corie are.
I had that happen with hot peppers, made a paste of yellow mustard and baking soda. Spread all over hands. Leave it until it gets a bit better, rinse then do it again!
Thank you for these videos and putting out content consistently. I lot of folks I subscribe to our dropping off and it's so dissapointing. Loved this video.
We found that once you've been "burned" by hot peppers, you are more sensitive to them, and they will burn you faster. My husband once decided to harvest all our jalapenos right before vacation and cut them up. He touched his eye area, and he suffered that whole trip and has to be really careful now.
How do you neutralize jalapeno burn? Chili peppers are an alkaline food because capsaicin falls on the base side of the pH scale. This is why acidic foods like vinegar or tomato sauce can be used to neutralize capsaicin oil on your skin. Dip or rub your hands with an acidic food like vinegar, tomato sauce, or lemon juice to find relief. 😊
I tried bowls of ice water. I made up mixtures of vinegar and baking soda. Vinegar alone. Lemon juice alone. Vinegar or lemon juice with ice cubes. Sometimes I alternated between all of them. I finally brought the bowl of ice water to bed with me and drifted off to sleep around dawn. I woke up soaking wet from the bowl of ice water. This was way too much lesson learning. 😅
Kia Ora from New Zealand, Hello and Greetings! ❤ I watch you and your family every day , I come from a little rural place in the country and with both my parents gone now I truly miss the place in from , the simple life that's so rich. I have your videos playing most of the time , it's comforting , being in your kitchen with your lovely family. Your garden is absolutely wonderful , and I just love (and miss) the cast iron pans (hehe , I warn my friends , who come from the city ,a couple grew up rural like myself to never mess with women who can heft those things around 😂) I really just want to thank you for sharing your life with us , I'll be watching as long as you make videos ❤ My condolences for your loss. Corey , keep playing guitar on the porch swing , I remembered that song 'The Wurlitzer Prize' by Waylon Jennings!! Arohanui, from New Zealand ❤️
Cranberry sauce goes great with chicken & dumplings! I like the fluffy drop dumplings. Your cake looks so good & is great for the beginning of the holidays and fall/wintertime. I'm ready for winter & a warm fireplace with hot chocolate. Hugs & Prayers for Granny!
I Enjoyed the Video Ladies!! I am VERY SENTIMENTAL ABOUT THINGS!! Food Memories are always about Good Times Good Food & Family. Thanks For Sharing Yours with Us!! God Bless and Pray Granny is Doing good through Treatments .. Hello to Katie & Lil Man and Can't Leave Out Olive.
Reminds me of shelling these beans for fun on Saturday nights and seeing who could find the prettiest bean. Eating homemade fudge or cinnamon rolls. Oh for the fun we had as children before t.v
Tipper, I just googled it, and the butterbeans come up as Christmas Lima’s. Some are pole beans, too. Lots of sources and pictures of these pretty beans! Thanks for all the good recipes!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
I have to tell you my hot pepper story. When I lived in Denver, I made chili for a chili cook off at work so I was chopping up hot peppers to throw in the pot. My eyes began to water so I put my finger up to my eye without thinking! I ran to the bathroom to rinse out the painful oil. I wore contacts so I had to get the contact out and put it in cleaner. Needless to say, the contact was a goner. In those days I had to get new ones from the doctor. Yes, anything hot or a lot of onions involved, I use plastic gloves!
hi Tipper..my grandmother used to make me homemade chicken & dumplings and German chocolate cake for my birthday every year…. Every bite from scratch…She knew it was my favorite ❤. I learned a great deal about cooking from her, I was always right by her side in the kitchen since I was a toddler. ❤. P.S. I’m gonna try your recipe 😊
I had never heard of that cake until your cookbook. It really looks good. We love cornbread at our house and with a crispy bottom. I love a day in the kitchen but the older I get the harder it is. Love when we eat at church and see all the variety of foods. There’s always a new recipe.
Loved this video! Tipper, lots of things you do remind me of my mother. Today was no different. Canning, cooking chicken and dumplings and green beans. I have her hand written recipe card of her dumpling recipe. She was also a “cooker”. She loved doing for her family. I miss her terribly! She would have been 78 today. The end of the video was so precious with you and your girls! God bless y’all! ❤️
I made your apple cake for a gathering yesterday and it was a big hit! I saw lots of different beans for sale at the Tellico Plains Mennonite Farmers Market on Fairview Road the other day. They close in winter but it’s a wonderful place to go. The veggies there are so good. I love your videos. Thank you.
I want to try your cake it looks sooo delicious ❤ That Corie is so granny couldn’t stop eating that cake.. i love watching granny when she made something and keep eating it. Praying for healing for her❤❤
I miss having my Mama to bake with. Especially at the holidays. When I was little or big enough to wash dishes I was the dish washer. My Mama didn’t let me experiment with cooking like Granny let you Tipper. I was just lucky she couldn’t bake and she let me give that a go and I liked it. But I do not like to cook. Thank goodness my husband does. Love you guys ❤
“No bean left behind”! Corie made me lol! 😂 I’m watching your video, on breaks between running batches of chicken in my pressure canner. Mama & I put up 14 Qts. & 14 pts. of chicken tonight. Tomorrow we’re canning around 30 pts. of chicken broth we made from the bones, skins & meat trimmings. We’ve been really busy between canning meats; freezing veggies, putting our summer garden to sleep…& beginning to get lettuce & a few things already from our fall garden. We’re exhausted, but it sure makes a heart feel good to see your pantry full & insuring your family will be well fed for the months ahead! That cake sure looked yummy, Tipper! I gotta try that soon! God bless you all.❤

I think that is so good and encouraging of you to say. Very nice.

Thank you for the kindness! So glad you enjoy what we do.
Her voice is the best.
Aww the final scene with Katie and Korie doing a head hug was precious!
Really enjoyed the church cooking.
I enjoyed watching you cook & watching Corie scurrying around the kitchen, helping keep things cleared away, I felt like I was sitting there in your kitchen watching ❤❤
Oh the joy of watching ya'll cook.

So good!

As I've said before, I love to watch you cook Tipper. Corie is such a great assistant. My daughter cooks for me now, and it's so nice. Lots of love.
Thanks so much 😀
the 'disarray' in your kitchen as you called it, is a beautiful sight🙂

Tipper, you are the busiest and hardest worker!!! All that great food you and Corie cooked! Amazing!! God bless and love to y’all! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Thanks so much 😀
The wonderful smells coming out of the kitchen is like a set of arms giving a hug.
I sprinkle a small amount of cornmeal in the hot skillet right before I pour in the cornbread batter. It makes the crust even more crispy and delicious. Great video.
That’s a great idea!
And I think it helps it not stick
Wow that would be a good cake. I will look that recipe up. Love how you list the recipe for us.

It must have been all delicious. Even if it were awful; your connection with your family is worthy to watch. God continue to bless is my prayer.
What a full day. As my sweet Grandmother used to say I bet it smelled “larapin” in your kitchen. Thanks for bringing us along. ♥️
My grandmother said the same thing!
I used to say cooker too as a little girl such fond memories and again thank you!😊❤
Yes the cooker makes everyone happy, and get better with time.
I'm a day late, busy Girls you are. Sunday sounds great. Hope the Guys have good luck hunting.God Bless. Jean 💛&🙏🙏 for Granny.
It touches my heart to see the love that is your home Tipper, I always tell my kids I love you more

I love watching you cook.
I wasn't allowed to cook when I was younger. I love to cook now and bake too. Keep on cooking.I love those recipes
Sounds delicious. Hard worker
Thank you 😀
I love you ladies. Real people real food.
The cake is beautiful too!!!
Could you ever video your lunch at church so we could see all the yummy foods, 😋 lunch at church is the best!!!
The love you have for one another gives me such a peaceful feeling. ❤
Tipper, you are inspiring...thank you Corie for always being there helping your momma❤❤❤
Tipper, I just googled it, and the butterbeans come up as Christmas Lima’s. Some are pole beans, too. Lots of sources and pictures of these pretty beans! Thanks for all the good recipes!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
I'm 81yrs old and I still cook everyday. I love food. I try to make my food taste like my Mama's, she was a great cook. My sister does the same.❤
I have to tell you my hot pepper story.
Oh goodness!
Thanks for another excellent video. Reminds me of spending time with family.
hi Tipper..my grandmother used to make me homemade chicken & dumplings and German chocolate cake for my birthday every year….
Thank you.
Wonderful!
I want to try your cake it looks sooo delicious ❤
That Corie is so granny couldn’t stop eating that cake.. i love watching granny when she made something and keep eating it.
Praying for healing for her❤❤
"No bean left behind" LOL. Nice one Corie.
Loved the video. You are such hard workers. Love the girls and Olive too ! Prayer's for Granny ❤❤❤
What a busy day in the kitchen. Hope your day went well, and everyone had a great sleep over❤
Oh those beautiful squash in that wooden bowl just screams Autumn and Harvest time. 🥮🍎🥔🌽🌶🫑🧅🍁🍂
Sweet, beautiful video! So real and homey. Thank you for sharing.
WOW! I love peppers so much!
😀
I am going to bake this cake!
Awe ❤️
