- This seemingly simple makeover had a whole load of unique complications. After stripping the thick paint off it was apparent that this model needed some filler and fixing. I used another similar model to match the paint color and also robbed it of it's wheels to make this one complete. Kevin, again, is a thorn in my side, making it impossible for me to make an honest living!

Good morning! Thank you for the video rebuild, Mr. Marty. Most folk would not give that poor, beaten up toy a second look but you have polished it up and revealed the Gem that was hidden by the wear of Time.
Very nice, what a treat to sit back, relax with a cuppa, some mint slice biscuits watch and this vid after a very busy sunday. That orange/red colour really makes the coca-cola signs POP. excellent work Marty.

The 'coke powered' belch is the giveaway that Kevin is draining his employee discount to the max! Love these older models, they have a timelessness to them that hints of older days and many owners through several generations.

You should get a cheap tooth cleaning "water pik" and use it like a pressure washer. They're what I would use to "pressure wash" my older models to get the dust off without rubbing!

Lots of pitting to deal with on this seemingly straightforward model. Came out very well in the end. The decals on the sides of the rear looked awkward to do. Proper job!
Marty and I did not plan to do the same casting . . . Great minds think alike? I started "baking" paint earlier this year and it works great! Nice job Sir Martin! ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
I know what you mean about baking the paint! - Wished I knew about this earlier. It sure does speed things up and I have also said goodbye to fingerprints on the finished models which always used to p##s me off when viewing the highly magnified final reveal!

One of my 1st and favorite cars . Father gave me the 37 18 c Bulldozer with man and BEA coach in the early 1960s. The BEA coach was perfect for our N gage train set

This is yet another cracking good restoration, by the way! I remember playing with so many of your subjects as a child and it brings back so many happy memories seeing these models being brought back to good health.

This was another great tutorial! I liked the history of the models and the other two #37's you restored were as good as this one. They all three look like Lesney just made them. There were a lot of very good tips and techniques in this as well and I will certainly watch this again. Thanks for all of your effort in making these tutorials.

Hi Marty, great resto as normal.
Just a suggestion, when you mix the paint why not utilize an empty paint bottle. That way you can keep the left over paint to use if you do another model the same.
I rinse them out with all purpose thinners, then wash with soapy water and take the labels off.

Another fine video. I was wondering if Kevin was going to drop Menthos in the Coke and see the reaction but instead he was just a pilfering little employee.
The switch regarding the tires is an example of the phrase “robbing Peter to pay Paul” (“Ecclesia Restaurata” 1661: Peter Heylyn) A bit fiddley, but I’m happy with that! Best wishes for the holidays!

Marty having now caught the Matchbox bug the 37a was my very first restoration and boy was it hard getting the paint out from around the tops of the crates but it came good in the end. So thank you for opening up a new and interesting hobby. Now I'm Grasshopper you are Master!

Just a thought. For painting the middles like this that have the clip holes make a custome holder from a toothpick or pop cycle stick that you can insert into the hole.
I'm guessing the corrosion in the tires is zinc oxide. It's possible the model spent some time underwater. Maybe buried in wet soil where acids could
attack it.

I think my brother and I had one of those Coca-Cola trucks. We might have even had both editions but I'm not sure if we had the baseless one or not.
Wow! I would say that you really did a nice job on this model, Marty! I'm especially impressed with all the damage that has been repaired, and I feel like your painting skills have really come a long way since you started these videos! I own one of the 1960 versions of this Coke truck, and since I worked at a Coca-Cola plant as a teenager, I've actually seen one of the 1940s yellow Coca-Cola delivery trucks up close, and they were beauties! I particularly enjoyed seeing all three of your restorations at the end of the video! I don't have one of the '50s unbalanced load Lesney trucks so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for one of those in the future. A very nice bit of restoration, man!

Marty, Ive had good luck scraping off paint runnoff with toothpicks, sometimes carving the points down sharper to get into locations like the headlight/grill area
Always enjoy how the paint goes off after you apply the paint striper. Great job. Thanks Marty for inspiring me to follow this hobby
