    I was diagnosed with stage 3 nearly 2 weeks ago, I went on pbd straight away. I have been intermittent fasting for a few months. I know it's not long term for results, but my main symptoms of ckd was weakness in legs, I walked this morning and the hill that normally makes me breathless, where I had to sit down after, didn't bother me today.
    My eczema hasn't been back, my hair has stopped falling out, my skin also looks better, I feel overall much better. I'm also sleeping better.
    My blood pressure has always been normal or low, and I'm slightly underweight I think.
    I think to feel this good my kidneys must be doing better as well.

    Hi Dr. Hashmi and Michele! I have stage 2 ckd, egfr around 84, proteinuria. I have a lot of trouble sleeping. I don’t take Benadryl or anything dangerous. I do take Magnesium Glycinate, Valerian root, or Melatonin to help me sleep. I’d love to see an episode about sleep aids, safety of sleep herbs, etc.

      We will definitely record an upcoming episode dedicated to sleep and sleep aids! Thanks for the topic suggestion.

      @@rasgeet A Moroccan recipe:
      Boil 2 bowls of water, add a small gratted red onion, a little black pepper, a little salt (instead of salt you can put a grated tomato) , a half teaspoon fenugreek seeds, 3 full Tablespoons medium berley(coarse), a half teaspoon powdered oregano. Boil on a high fire during 10-15 mn, then on low-medium fire during 30-45 mn.
      Fortunately ,untill now all around the world barley is not yet OGM, but some researchers who believe they do well for the humanity , are working with a certain success to produce OGM barley , like it's always the case for corn an soja for instance.
      So enjoy barley while it's still not OGM. Furthermore, barley reduces the risk of formation of stones in gallbladder and surgery and is more potent than oat in reducing glycemia( 9% more potent) and insulin (13 % more potent).

    What are the additives to watch out for in Nut milks or " processed" vegan foods?

    Hello Docs, let me ask you one simple question: Do you think avoiding eggs, tofu/bean curd, and tempeh in our plant based diet can lower our creatinin level? Why (not)?

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out our episode on eggs and protein in general! The total protein and type of protein are both important....we have episodes on lowering creatinine and protein too!

    Do yo7u find that some of the vegan alternatives are " too processed? ( AGE's, fillers, sodium, etc).

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, definitely. We do not recommend people regularly consume vegan meat/cheese alternatives. They are ultra processed and typically high in sodium, saturated fat, and often contain phos or potassium additives. The benefits in plant based diet for CKD is in whole, minimally processed plant foods! :)

    But why dr Berry statement is opposite with plant based diet. He said that animal protein is not a factor that must be avoid for CKD. Sorry but It makes me confused

    • @PlantBasedKidneyHealth
      @PlantBasedKidneyHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would look into the studies he cites. Also take note that it appears Dr. Berry is a board certified family physician. Dr. Hashmi is board certified in nephrology, internal medicine and obesity (all things specific to what we discuss/address on this channel).
