what would you suggest for someone that has been on warfarin 7.5 mg a day for almost 20 yrs for APS, Raynaud's and lupus please, now diagnosed with non diabetic CkD stage 4, changed diet, now stage 3 after 3 mths. thank you in advance. LOVE
Unlikely to be an upper limit for mk7 as some in Japan eat Natto every day and it has lots. Those selling supplements will tell you how awful natto is, But I make it and eat it with mustard, soy or worcestershire sauce and a bit of olive oil and it is fine. I also culture milk to yogurt and ferment chickpeas with those microbes.
I'm a 75 yr old female. I have been taking K2, Vitamin E supplements for 8 years. My primary Dr sent me to a cardiologist. Immediately saw my age and said you have 45 % chance of arterial sclerosis...you need to be on statins. I told him I wanted a CAC test that measures the Calcium in the arteries. He told me they don't order that test because the insurance won't pay for it. $ 75.00. I insisted. The test is simple an ultrasound, completely non invasive. The technician ran the test twice. I had NO calcium build up or arterial sclerosis. I did NOT need a perscription for statins or any other drug. In fact I don't have any prescriptions. I take supplements from Life Extension Foundation. I just wondered how many of that Doctor's patients were given prescriptions they did not need simply because he would not run a simple non-invasive test that took 15 minutes. I am happy to know Vit K2 helps the kidneys.
To add a commonly used expression, "You are one smart cookie" and I am going to follow in your footsteps. I'm only 83 and if I have my way I will live until I'm 107.
I had a doctor do an ultrasound on my arteries, and she told me I had 70 percent carotid artery blockage, and tried to prescribe a statin. I declined but was terrified, until another doctor did another test, and she lied to me. I did NOT have a carotid artery blockage. These doctors get pharmaceutical kickbacks from prescribing meds.
@@winsonlim4586 there are several brands & dosages. MK7 is for calcium management. If you take D3 many people take way too high of a dose which is all the rage, which can cause lots of problems. Personally, I take 300mcg of K2 & 400 IU of D. I have my levels checked a couple of times a year. If you take D3 take it with MK7.
D3 + K2 has enabled me, for the first time is 47 years to get off of my antidepressant. I stopped last April ( 2022 ) and feel wonderful ! To God be the Glory !

Thank you. I'm in my fourth stage of kidney Disease. My story, as well as others is awful how is was diagnosed with this disease. Needless to say, I need to live. Its weird that I had a doctor say to me that its alright to died because I have lived. I'd agreed at the time, then, I felt a coolness that came over me, nah, I need to live, I have a great working heart and my mind is is tack. So, I'm fighting to LIVE. Thanks again.
I've been taking Vitamin k2(Mk7) daily with D3, for about a year now. My teeth are strong, my Knees & Hips are strong, even though my Orthopaedic Surgeon recommended I have a double Knee and Hip replacement almost 10yrs ago! I train & exercise daily, at the ripe old age of 70yrs.
@@prabhchahalvlogg7307 I wish you well. You can find a lot of good advice & remedies on TH-cam , so stay focused & you will find something that works for you. As I said, my Orthopaedic Surgeon advised me to have a double Knee and Hip replacement over 10yrs ago, but I declined. Today I'm a healthy 70yr old, I sleep well, work everyday on our Property doing maintenance, gardening, pool maintenance, painting & waterblasting roof. Daily Exercising of all your joints is a must, good diet & supplements are also important! I have never taken any prescribed medication in my life, except for 2 high blood pressure pills, then I threw the full bottle away & started a Healthier eating regime & lifestyle, cutting out 90% of salt, sugar & Coke....eating more vegetables & fruits, Cayenne Pepper, turmeric, nuts, pomegranate drinks & Krill oil. My life changed for the better, so good luck👌
I was suffering from joint and knee pain and my doctor informed me that I was deficient in magnesium. I would take a huge amount of magnesium because my body was not absorbing magnesium orally. I read about k2 and saw that it helps with the absorption of magnesium. My magnesium level is back to normal.
Interesting-I was hospitalized for being Magnesium deficient as I passed out in my own house & was taken by ambulance to the hospital. At first they thought it was a heart attack or stroke. I feel as though I always ate well particularly w/foods that contained Magnesium so it was a surprise to learn I was deficient but on the other hand you never know what you’re deficient in without testing. Same with whether or not a person is absorbing the necessary vitamins & minerals either through what they eat or supplements. Doctors are not keen to do all those tests so we must be our own health advocate. They would rather prescribe drugs than to look into the core of people’s health problems so find an accommodating Doctor & again, extremely important to be your own health advocate. Natural remedies are better than many of the drugs.
@@revrotunda3206 , I have noted on myself the magnesium Asporotate absorbed better than other pills, and dissolving pure Epsom salts in water, and drinking a little throughout the day, can repair my symptoms in the first day rather than the weeks required by prescription for it. I use a pinch in water, every few hours, until I get to the soft stool symptom of enough, BUT I never knew about the k2 until now!!
@@charlanpennington3989 I will be taking the Magnesium supplement for the rest of my life. Most are deficient & aren’t even aware of it, especially those over 40, so no doubt people are deficient in other things as well. I have separate bottles of virtually all the supplements except the K but many multi vitamins have the K in there but limited amounts. Females over 18 supposedly need 90 mcg. I’ve read this vitamin is not sold separately but I’ll have to research that further. It can be prescribed but I’m not under Doctors care. I think the best place to start is find out what we are deficient in & why. Eating right with the proper diet is extremely important but difficult at the same time as the main crops from what most foods consist of & derived from come from are genitically engineered crops so there will be bioengineered ingredients in virtually all foods. Most cannot afford to buy all organic foods which is another problem. The best meats are very expensive as well. So I at least do things like avoid HFCS which is linked to serious health issues like diabetes & heart disease. So our diet should be a way of life to avoid as much of the bad as we can despite many foods being compromised. Even dry name brand cereals & crackers are considered processed foods.
@@revrotunda3206 , I had to drop those ingredients you refer to. I had help from my literal guardian angel to figure out what was making me so ill. I found the pe-stic--ide overload made me use magnesium at an advanced rate, to deal with "stress" I just call poisoning. Each fall after 3 months of Floressence Tea (removes heavy metals and pesticides gently over 3 to 4 months or 4 to 6 boxes) my magnesium deficiency problems ease greatly, by the next fall it is a big problem again. Now K will help.
I'm from Italy: your infos are very important! I have take the k2 with D3 and my osteoporosis is better! My Italian doctor is very good, like You! But a lot of doctors don't know these so important vitamins! My old one doctor endocrinologist said to eat a lot of milk, and this is not a good idea! For 7 years I take alendronato and my osteoporosis was always more plus. After suspended alendronato and with k2 and D3 l'm happy because I am better! Sorry for my bad English. I'm 57 yo. Thanks again 👏👏👏
Im 33, on dialysis for 7 years now, and last year my cardiologist found multiple occlusions 90-100% blocked when doing an angiogram for my kidney transplant requirements. Dialysis had me taking calcium and calcitriol but they knew nothing about K2. I had 2 stents placed and need more, this information is vital
Hello, Oh my goodness. I am so sorry, but sooo glad you've discovered this Miracle of Vitamin K2, [Menaquinone]. There is NOthing in the natural or pharmaceutic world quite like this "fermented microbe". TELL THESE TRADITIONAL DOCTORS: The CALCIUM Will Never go to where it is supposed to go Without being Regulated by MENAQUINONE!!! Worst yet: the Calcium WILL BE GOING INTO SOFT TISSUE AND ARTERIES. On YT there is a lengthy Video, I will try to circle back with link. It is a few years old, by a doctor John Whitcomb, who goes in great detail of the discovery of Vit. K2. It is titled: "The End of Osteoporosis and Heart Disease". Talk only of K2. In essence: Humans have 2 proteins, waiting around to be activated, [carboxylated]. 1] One protein is called, Osteocalcin, which directs calcium into the bone matrix. 2] 2nd protein is call, MGla Matrix, which pulls calcium out of soft tissue / arteries. We are all deficient in a nutrient. crazy. In the old days we all ate Grass-Fed Meat / Dairy. Hence why the French have this Paradox... [the French Paradox, books written..] They are amongst the lowest cardiovascular disease poplulation... why. Just think about it, they have Valleys of grassy meadows where all the CHEESE the French consume, comes from that source. So even all the bread they eat, (insulin), still does not bother them. There is a book called the Calcium Paradox i believe...author has a French Canadian last name.. Anyway, in the comments I once read a patient being rolled out of surgery for rooter-rooting his carotid artery. He asked his surgeon, "how did the calcium get in there..?" The doctor said, "Well, sometimes the body gets confused.." They Just did Not teach Nutrition Science in Medical school. That's fine, that is why we now have Clinical Registered Dieticians... but still, these MD specialist fall short, and dangerous that you now at such a young age had to have stents... grrr Another comment was from an airline pilot who had a major blockage of a major artery. I've retained what he did with Vitamin K2, and high dose Vitamin C, [improves collagen within the endothelium..], and he successfully cleared out blockages On His Own. I may circle back with that Pilot's remedy.. FOUND IT, HERE I AM PASTING BELOW. FORMER AIRLINE PILOT CLEARED BLOCKAGE----- "I used Vitamin K2 MK7 and Natural Vitamin C to clean 2 of my 4 heart arteries completely of plaque. Previously I had two stents installed in my LAD, and while in the Catheterization Lab the Surgeon told me I had severe Calcification of the other 3 arteries at least 65% blocked and the lesions (inflammation) caused by the Calcium block would rupture and probably kill me. I am a 78 year old retired airline pilot and asked what I could do to remove the plaque. THE SURGEON TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING I COULD DO. But looking on the NIH publication site there were two articles on K2 or Menaquinone as it is called. One from Krakow, Poland and the other from Rotterdam, Amsterdam. Those two countries do not depend on the profit motive drug companies to do their drug studies. The govt and the govt ran universities do the testing. AND THEIR RESEARCHERS PROVED THAT VITAMIN K2 DOES REMOVE CALCIUM FROM THE ARTERIES.. and that Calcium mixed with a little cholesterol is the primary blocking agent. >>> IT IS NOT CHOLESTEROL ALONE It is not Cholesterol alone-- as the U.S. drug companies want us to believe. And Dr Linus Pauling won 2 Nobel Prizes working with Natural Vitamin C. He said Natural Vitamin C would work like Roto-Rooter removing plaque from our arteries. So I took both. Two Vitamin K2 in the morning, 2 at noon and 2 in the evening. I took K2 as MK7 because the MK7 version stays in our blood stream longer and works better. We do not store Vitamin C or most antibodies in our bodies and must be taken often to have any effect. So each night I mixed 1.5 teaspoons of Natural Vitamin C (not Ascorbic Acid, the orange pill that is not Vitamin C) using Acerola Cherry Powder. I mixed the cherry powder in six bottles of flavored water and drank all six the following day. After 6 months I went to the local hospital for a Calcium Score. COMPLETELY CLEARED OF PLAQUE My Calcium Score showed two major heart arteries (there are 4) completely clear of plaque. The Surgeon verified they were 65% blocked 6 months prior. The Cardiologist was completely stunned and asked the hospital to check the accuracy of the X-Ray equipment. One other artery has a small amount of calcium plaque and the fourth, the one with the 2 stents still has severe plaque. So I am continuing the self-help treatment and will do another calcium Score in May or June. But a Carotid study of my 2 Carotid arteries showed them completely clean and I have stopped passing Kidney Stones which has been a problem for the past 10 years. And my joint pain is gone. No more hip, neck, shoulder, back pain. I no longer have to take strong opoids for pain and I can return to playing golf and fishing again. Vitamin K2 MK7 and Natural Vitamin C has restored my life. There are lots of venders of Acerola Cherry Powder which is rich in Natural Vitamin C on Amazon. One teaspoon has 300 mg. And there are lots of sellers of Vitamin K2 MK7 on Amazon. Pick your own, I have left some reviews of the products I use but have no doubt that they are all the same. Good luck. And get YOUR CALCIUM SCORE. And Thank YOU, DR BERG for giving me the information I needed to find my solution. My new Calcium Score is 977. 975 in the LAD and 2 in the Circumform. Zero in the other two. STUDIES ON VITAMIN K2 MENAQUINONE The two K2 studies. One is from Rotterdam titled, "Dietary Intake of Menaquinone is Associated with a reduced Risk of Coronary Heart Disease: The Rotterdam Study" by Dr.Johanna Geleijnse and associates. The other study is "Proper Calcium Use: Vitamin K2 as a promoter of Bone and Cardiovascular Health", by Dr Katarzyna Maresz, who is the president and scientific coordinator of International Science and Health Foundation in Krakow, Poland. Hi I am 67 years of age and my inflammation was so bad that I had aching legs day and night I could hardly stand it. In fact when I was in my teenage years I remember I had aching legs and my mother said it was growing pains. I was brought up in New Zealand so not much sun during Spring and winter a little bit. I started to take more vitamin D3 with a K2 supplement only recently, like about a month ago. I now take 6 1000iu per day. 3 in the morning and 3 at night with 2000 fish supplement. I have absolutely no aching in my limbs and absolutely no inflammation at all. It's changed my life. I can now walk and swim without moving awkwardly and limping. Thank you for your life changing message guys♥️👍
Good on you Linda! You discribed my problems. I grew up in one of Eropean countries, but it is about 17 years since I moved to New Zealand. Happy New Year to you from South Island, South Canterbury@@lyndawallace8741
I have been taking D3+MK7; after finding my D was low, also my Vit B12. No wonder, I was on the osteoporosis borderline, and my bones were very achy. Bones feel stronger and do not ache anymore. I will have another test next year for OP. I have fully functional kidneys and all my other parameters were good; I also came out of a prediabetic state. I believe I have stronger bones and I feel good overall. Regardless, I will not be taking OP medications because as a nurse, I know how they work and many people end up worse than when they were diagnosed. Each case might be different than mine, but that's my experience and these are my choices only. Great explanation on vit K2. My dr did not even know it existed. When I asked him if it was appropriate to supplement. He said do not do that because of the bleeding. I said is not K1. But it is hard to argue with a close-minded Dr. The Dr. wanted to prescribe me three meds right away and was upset at me for refusing them. I am not against them, but If I have choices, I will exhaust my choices first.
This is the best answer ever. You know why? Because your a Nurse knowing whats going on in the Hospitals. To manny people thinkng that OP,s are the solution for there illnesses and it aint. I always say OP s are the last thing you should do. There are other ways to heal. I take K2 and D3 and saw that my skin structure over my whole body is getting better, and wonds heal faster. I am 74 have a cist in my kidney and hope to resolve this problem. The last two years make me close my Doors for Dokters, my trust is completly gone also fore healing in Hospitals. Despide all those good meaning people, Most of them aint Healers in the True sin of worth. Only by study medicine and name doesn,t make you a Healer.
My whole family is on D3 and K2 daily for 2 years, grandkids teeth have had no new teeth caries. My hips don't hurt any longer. Bones are very strong, am an 68 years old and have a numerous bone scans. Do lift weights every other day. No Calcium in these arteries.

Dr. Hashmi, A cardiologist in 2005 told me that I needed a stent because I had a clogged artery. He first asked 3 questions, which I answered. 1) He asked, "Do you feel very tired while walking?" I said NO, NOT AT ALL," and I walked a lot because I love walking! 2) He asked, "How many miles would you say that you've walked?" I said, 3 and sometimes 4 miles; I walked outdoors a lot, plus when I'm indoors, I use my treadmill which has rolling hills. As I said, I love walking! 3) He said when climbing stairs, "Do you get tired or out of breath?" I said NO. He said, "You may not have any symptoms, but I'm not pleased with what I'm seeing here (looking at my X-ray, etc, on his computer); so you'll need a stent! I was shocked and found it very strange when he said that I needed a stent. I thought, NO SYMPTONS AND I NEEDED A STENT! I left his office and went straight to my doctor whom I trusted and had access to my medical file. I told him what the cardiologist said, only half an hour ago. I then said, "Doc, I came to you for a second opinion because I just don't trust him!" He said, "Why don't you trust him?" I said I don't, because I've NONE of symptoms that he asked, so I DON'T believed him! My doctor looked at my file and shooked his head and said, well I cannot tell you what to do, it's up to you but what I can tell you, it's (only) when a patient artery is blocked at a certain percentage, then we recommend a stent! I said, "Doc, I just want to know one thing, if you were me, would you have the stent?" He said NOPE, I WON'T, but as I've already said, this decision is ONLY yours to make! I smiled and said thank you doc, you’ve answered my question; he also smiled. Today is January 19th, 2023, and I DID NOT let that "crooked" cardiologist put a stent into my artery! After 18 years, I've NO problems whatsoever! I've realized that in this world, there're MANY crooked doctors who would damage a patient for money and don't care! Thanks, Dr. Hashmi and Michele, for this interesting podcast; God bless🙏 Today is Friday, June 21st, 2024, and here's another update. It's now 19 years, and I still haven't had a stent put into my artery! When I'm outdoors, I walk for between 5-10 miles. I use my treadmill when I'm indoors. I also run up and down many stairs. Btw, I'm now 69 years old (in a few months, I'll be 70), and everyone who doesn't know me personally thinks that I'm no more than 50. Thank God 🙏
Please see Dr Ken Berry's vids on Proper Human Diet. I had 100% blocked LAD. got my CABG in 2015. It was caused by insulin resistance that was never tested for. need fasting insulin and C-peptide blood tests.

The best patient to do a surgery on is a healthy one , that way there is no problems and they can say that they fixed the problem, when there was no problem at all.
I take vitamin D3 with K2 and drink a LOT of water. I was stage 2 kidney function and improved to stage 1 and now am told I have no sign of kidney dysfunction. I am not fully vegetarian but I do the Keto diet, very few carbs, plenty of vegetables and fruit and if I want bacon or steak I have it in moderation (8 ounces or less). But mostly I eat chicken and fish. No alcohol and no smoking except occasional joint of MJ. I’m not even pre diabetic but ramping up daily exercise was a big part of my recovery and ongoing health regimen. Love this doctor, he changed my life.
Vitamin K1 and K2 do completely different things in the body!! It's critical to get K2 these days because when they switched from grass to grain for our cattle they disrupted the healthy process of metabolizing our food properly, so we must take K2 supplements to insure the calcium goes to our bones and not in our arteries.
Nonsense. Animal products are the only source. grain fed has it but grass finished Is slightly higher. unless you eat some plant fermented products. Most beef is raised on grass then grain finished for 3 months. Still the best source.
Don't forget magnesium. Magnesium is required to activate vitamin D3. Its very important to take D3, K2 and magnesium together (In reasonably healthy adults).
Yes magnesium is required as a cofactor for over 300 enzymes. It always seems to be a neglected electrolyte. It can help reduce inflammation and smooth out heart rhythm too.
I've heard and read some articles stating not to take K2 MK7 with D3 as it competes for absorption or something along those lines. It was suggested to take them separately a few hours a part. Any truth to that? or combining other vitamins together?
Yes I have read many articles saying to take them separately, so it seems a waste of money and supplements to buy k2+d3. It doesn't make sense, and proves we need to do our own research.
@@theselector2310you are so right about the heart rhythm I just started taking a Magnesium supplement and as crazy as it sounds, I barely feel my heart beating. I was so conscious of the palpitations before. The Magnesium helped.

@@matthewhunter6421 apparently if a person just goes to their regular physician , they don't get much in the way of nutrition or supplements. I would love to find a physician thats more holistic and not drugs as a 1st iption.
What will reduce the risk of calcification of arteries and help in bone mineralization is K2(MK4) from animal meat or butter. K2 (MK7) is a "fake" K2 from bacterial fermentation of soybean. Bacteria do not have blood nor bones.
I really appreciate the style of both hosts. they listen to the other without interruptions and summaries the comments before giving his/her own. Good stuff!
At 6:45, Sean first mentioned a 2006 meta analysis where the K2 MK-7 dose was 45 MILLIGRAMS, bringing to our attention he was talking 45 MILLIgrams vs. micrograms. At 15:20, when Michele asked Sean about dosage for K2 MK-7, he started out by saying the STUDIES went as high as 360 (here he hesitated and then emphasized) MILLIGRAMS per day with no issues. She did NOT react to or question him for saying MILLIGRAMS. Then at 17:20 he said the studies went as high as 360 MICROGRAMS. She did not react to or question the much lower dose he stated the second time, but I picked up on it right away. That’s a huge difference, milligrams or micrograms! In Japan doctors prescribe 45 MILLIGRAMS per day to treat osteoporosis, so it may not be outside of reason for a STUDY to actually dose at 360 milligrams. So which dose did the STUDY actually use, I wonder, 360 in MILLIgrams or MICROgrams? I’m inquiring ONLY about the cited STUDY dose, not the recommended dose.
@6:56 he clearly states milligrams and says "remember we have been saying micrograms up until now, but this is 45 milligrams" He then says that in they use it to prevent osteoporosis. To me, that is very clear. They used high dosages (milligrams) to treat osteoporosis through medical supervision (probably a prescription) but for daily usage for regular maintenance, take the lower(microgram) dosage. I'm not even sure if you can buy milligrams of K2 OTC . I have only seen it in micrograms
The Japanese study was 45 milli grams of MK4 each day. I did this for a number of years and ended up with blood clots all over my body! Please be careful!
Furthermore, Magnesium levels should also be optimal for K2 and D3 to do their thing to the fullest. Well, Mg is involved with nearly 300 metabolic processes . Great video and extremely informative. Very articulate people - there was no hesitation on wordage. No ums . Nothing but clear thinking - now there is a testament to there life style!

I’m a heart transplant patient. In one study Dr found a lesion wich means one of my Coronary arteries was about half inflamated. Now this is normal but being only 2 years after transplant is worring. Started vitamin k2 as mk7. Next year same study showed the same artery now was about 20% inflamated. Dr told me to keep doing what I was doing. The funny thing is that I started vitamin k2 because of the efect on calcium transport. Tlater I foud it’s good for heart too. PS I also exercise.
If you don't eat "grass fed meat" then you need to take a K-2 vitamin. I really appreciate this talk and the explanation of each type of K-2 and the MK-7, potassium, D3 and complimentary vitamins. Thanks very much,
Isn’t MK7 from animals & MK7 fermented plant base? They operate differently. MK7 is the recommend type in this video & other resources on this topic. It works with D3 and supplements with both in one supplement. Just my understanding…hope it helps you.
I am a physician with 27 years of insulin dependence. eGFR over the past 7 years went from high sixties to low thirties. Started vit K2Mk7 about 8 months ago, just from reading research. Present eGFR is 69 and 70 on last two measures. I am quite pleased, obviously. And what is going on in my kidney arteries is obviously also going on in my heart and other organs.
I've been taking life extension vitd3 k2 and vitC for several years. I'm 66 years old, and 6 months ago I slipped and fell down a staircase banged my head and right arm. Ouch ! My arm was seriously black and blue a few days later. Nothing broke! I also beat covid. had mild symptoms . I did not run off to get any jabs either.
Please take 1 tsp. of moringa powder for 1 week then 2 tsp. after 2nd weeks for absorption of nutrients in our body together with noontime sunshine for at least 30 minutes of vitamin d3. GOD BLESS.
Thank you for mentioning Costco. Sometimes it’s difficult to try to track down an outlet for specific supplements. Mentioning a business that carries these makes it easier to try to get on track to a healthier lifestyle.
Also, there are so many charlatans that jump on the wagon of selling a popular item. At least costco bothers to protect their reputation and are careful not to promote or sell hurtful items.
Almost all the nutrients Costco carries are contaminated with hidden MSG. I teach my patients how to read labels because we are being poisoned to death with hidden MSG.
I read a few questions related to taking D3 and K2 together or separately, so this is what I found from Bare Biology: "In short, vitamin D helps extract calcium from our food, and K2 helps deposit it where we need it: in bones and teeth and not in soft tissues such as artery walls and cartilage, which could lead to heart disease. These two vitamins appear more valuable for supporting bone and heart health when taken together rather than alone."

I've noticed Vitamin K2 has done me good for many years without knowledge of why it's good for me. I am very good at knowing what's good for me. Among the many benefits I noticed was it stopped internal bleeding (from prostate) absolutely. That was 4 years ago. Vit K2 has a HUGE effect on my blood - I get better blood which helps all sorts of things. This video has begun to explain why in scientific terms.
@@paulao7022 Be very careful if you are taking a prescribed blood thinner. Even adding low dose aspirin can be risky! I take xarelto and so I do Not take aspirin. Vit K2 MK-7 helped as a more than two decades old dialysis patient with secondary hyperparathyroidism. Now my bone pain improved without using Cinacalcet anymore and hoping that my vascular stiffening would almost completely be gone as well, my BP is in the normal range which could be the sign that my arteries and veins are softening already. Reversed my Leontiasis a bit too in the process. Hoping that I can support myself continuously in purchasing this wonder vitamin which works and saved me from what Leontiasis could do to my face and backbones if I wasn't able to discover it and what it can do to my bone and artery's health. I am on a 90 mcg dose now per day.
Thank you for a well-thought-out presentation. Your voices were so calming and the information was laid out in a very sequential format. I have known the importance of K2 (with D3) for some time and you reinforced what I know to be true.
Totally agreed. Two of my family take the K2 (Mena7) + D3 ~~ one for clear cognition and the other for removing calcium deposits from arteries so no aches and pains. It works very well on both counts.. This team reinforced the benefits of these 2 vitamins. Well said.
@@paulao7022 Yes, take K2 (Mena 7) with D3. The K2 absorbs the calcium from the arteries, where it is the prime culprit in clogged arteries causing heart disease, into the bones where it belongs and prevents osteoarthritis.
I m on Plavix and statins as I have a stent installed at one of the arteries (coronary anterior decline). In December 2023, I did a Dexa n I was told that I have osteoporosis. If I take K2+D3 n magnesium, will it help my situation. Kindly give some advice. Much appreciated! Robert (70 years of age)
The good news is that it sure wouldn't hurt. Will it reverse the damage done? I don't know about that. Make sure you are up on your b12. And vitamin c. Wishing you all the luck in the world. @@robertip6735
Thank you so much! I go to a nephrologist and it seems he’s just waiting to put me on dialysis someday and this kind of help is invaluable. He just says keep your sodium down. I don’t have diabetes. I don’t have high blood pressure anymore since my GP gave me medication for it and I never did have high blood pressure until a couple years ago. Thank you so much for giving me some hope about the low level proteinurea I havee. Bless you both.
Same experience I let my first nephrologist go telling me just drink lots of water, limit salt and can eat anything and monitor my blood test and I am on stage 3-4 of kidney disease currently the nephrologist I am seeing now is nice but the attitude is too calm she kept changing my B/P meds and she’s not telling me anything that I already knew what a shame but she’s from Stanford my primary MD is more patient advocate.the renal Md never suggested about Vit supplementation and I have Osteoporosis
I’m thrilled to hear this conversation bc most Drs only want to PRESCRIBE a pill and seem to totally DIMINISH the supplements…Thank you for sharing this
So glad you are covering this topic, and am happy to learn more about the benefits of K2. I've used K2-M7 & Vitamin D to treat my severe osteoporosis. After five years of this regimen, DEXA scans showed a 40% *increase* in my bone density, and my condition was revised to osteopenia, rather than the severe osteoporosis I had been in. I keep an eye on heart disease and kidney health as well, and credit my status in those areas also to the K2-M7/Vitamin D. It is slow working but it certainly has a significant, long-term beneficial impact on the body--and in the case of bone density, one that can be specifically measured. I wish more people knew about this, so thanks for doing this episode.
Are you post menopausal? I just started k2 and boron. I’m not taking the meds and docs are upset with me. I have taken bone meds before and I have side effects from them. Thank you for your information, I am 71; don’t really know which way to turn, trusting God and info from others.
@@jeangriggs201 Yes, I am (am 66 now). I hit the same resistance from docs when I refused to take bisphosphonates, but the damage they do to bones' ability to self-repair is well documented (among many other negative consequences). I had to educate each of my osteo docs regarding K2-M7 and Vit D combos - they were uniformly ignorant of it, even though exactly this is standard osteoporosis/osteopenia treatment in Japan. By the way, Vit D is really essential to take in combo with K2 if you are looking to improve bone health. There is tremendous synergy between the two, and the D increases absorbtion and efficacy of the K2 considerably. If you are inclining this way I would encourage you to take at least 200 mcg of K2-M7 (you can go up to 360-ish a day, tho, which is typical intake for a Japanese person who consumes natto for breakfast). I do a higher dose of Vit D- 5000 units/day, which is in keeping with recommendations from Dr Christiane Northrup for post-menopausal women and also with the consent of my docs. (My bod is not very responsive to lower doses or Vit D2.) This amount keeps my Vit D levels in a good, protective range per my blood work. I also take a 1000 mg gel cap of Omega 3 fish oil along with those two, in part for other supplement reasons but also because K2 is oil soluble and that hit of fish oil helps in the metabolizing of it when taken at the same time. Good luck to you in improving your bone health! Light weight training can also help a great deal--muscle stress on bone makes the bones stronger in response, and weight resistance training specifically reduces risk of fracture.
@@jeangriggs201 Be patient with it. Reabsorbing calcium into the bone is a long slow process but it definitely works over time, and I have the DEXA scans to prove it. :)
This is very informative thank you I was taking a vitamin D3 with K2 so I brushed to my bottle to look see if it was mk7 or not. It was MK4 :-( it wasn't a brand new bottle so I just went on Amazon and made sure I had an mk7 with my D3 I definitely need this because of my age and my condition thank you so much
I have low platelets 81 and have them going lower for the last 25 Years. I don’t take any blood thinners or aspirin or ibprophen. I am now 77 years old. My D3 blood test shows 62 on a scale 0 to 100 and I do take a 2000ui D3 vitamin once a day and 600 calcium once a day. I do have a bottle of Spring Valley K2 mk7 veggie 90 mcg + D3 125 mcg 5000iu per capsule. I just took one. My 9/16/22 blood showed my GFR 81.8 and creating 0.9. Stage 2 mildly decreased kidney function. Bun of 13.
I take my daily 100 mcg of vitamin K-2 as MK-7 (natto) out of a separate bottle from my daily 125 mcg dose of vitamin D from fish liver oil just in case I would ever like to adjust doses, and a report I recently heard is that 100 mcg of vitamin K-2 is sufficient for up to 10,000 IU of vitamin D, with my 125 mcg dose of vitamin D being the equivalent of 5,000 IU of vitamin D. I felt great relief to hear someone report by a merely passing remark that 100 mcg daily of vitamin K-2 as MK-7 is sufficient, because on days when I experimentally doubled my dose of vitamin K-2 as MK-7 from 100 mcg to 200 mcg, I suffered from flatulence and diarrhea. Biggest improvement for me was switching to fish liver oil as my vitamin D source. The powdered vegan algae did not work at all for me, and consuming lanolin was completely out of the question.
The vast majority of Mk-7 is converted into Mk-4 in the body. 95 percent of the Vitamin K found in the human brain is K2 MK-4. Mk-4 is the superior version. The people that make these videos need to take the time to read the studies more carefully.
Just started taking d3/k2 , also zinc, and b12. I also take only one prescription levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. This has been good...confirmed what I thought ...saw d3/k2 vitamin and bought it immediately. After I made the purchase, I ran upon this information!!
Sean Hashmi has from what I know the most recent data on the most recent studies regarding K2…but there are many over the last 20 years that are very relevant. My cardiologist is taking K2 mk7 with D3 supplements. It is predicted that osteoporosis will be eliminated in the next two decades…making this metabolic science the most exciting right now…
Thank you for the clear information on K2 plus K1 supplements. Been taking K2 for a couple of years, mostly for the benefit of reducing the calcium plaque in arteries. And thanks again for all the rest of the benefits you mention it has on CKD.

I am 57 pre-diabetic, began taking thiamine 250mg a day 3 months later my adrenals / kidneys are healing, and my body size is slowly getting smaller. Like I am reducing in size all round my body not just in specific areas. Praise Jesus He did say "I am healing your adrenals." Only thing different I am doing is taking big doses of thiamine. Just started taking k2 in multivita, looking forward to seeing how that works. I have also been taking 1/2 teaspoon potassium bicarbonate and 1/2 teaspoon ascorbic acid in juice / kombucha a day for years. But because the thiamine is working to heal kidneys, I had to reduce the daily ascorbic acid / potassium dose to half (1000mg) a day.
Keto and fasting will fix your prediabetes and reverse it in about 3 months. Highly recommend getting of the carb diet. Ignore doctors and their medicines that don’t fix anything.
Almost all the studies with K2 have used MK-4 form. Just because it disappears in the blood, it doesn't mean it's not doing something beneficial. Best to take both forms of MK-7 and MK-4. Life extension has such a brand.
@@matthewn1805 Two forms of vitamin K2 are typically found in supplements: MK-4 (synthetic) and MK-7 (natural, from natto). There are significant differences between them: in paticular, MK-7 has a longer half-life, so a smaller dose can be used. Two newer forms of MK-7 are available that are synthetic.
@@prioris55555 I'm sorry I have never heard of any synthetic form of K2 MK4, the biggest natural sources of K2 MK4 are (in descending order) Egg yolk, Butter, Salami and Chicken, if there is a synthetic source please say where and who makes it.
The K2 derived from beef is not from mk7. Mk7 is from fermented plants like soy beans. It needs to be K2 with mk7 derived from fermented plants. He mentions some foods you can get this in and or take supplements.
@S Yes. Different foods contain different minerals, of course. Early on, the speaker mentions that K1 -- specifically -- is for within the kidney. Since the commentor's parent has ONE kidney, it seems quite wise to help that kidney out by taking K1, which we 2-kidney folk should also do, since it can only help. Good to know that beef tallow has K1! They -- and the rest of us -- can also supplement with or take a natural source of K2 as well. The commentor's not knocking K2, they are reminding us about K1.
She said K1 stays only in the Liver, K2 extends throughout the body organs, so we should take K2. My father has one kidney with metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma, so I am going to put him on the K2 (he's already on B complex +Vit C, and Vit D3). Edit: he also drinks Gatorade Zero (as a diabetic) to get his electrolytes.
My Nephrologist just stares at me and doesn't react to anything I say even though I reversed my CKD down to Stage one with P-5-P coenzyme form of B6 and he saw it happen. I also used other supplements and kept diabetes away with diet.

Thank you so much. I have just had Triple Bypass surgery, been diagnosed with diabetes type 2 and CKD stage 3...I am taking D3 and K2 MK7. I also have fibromyalgia. I have noticed a big change in the pain I normally have and hope to it more by adjusting my diet
The Japanese used a daily dose of 45mg (15mg in three doses per day) MK-4 (NOT Mk-7) K2 in their study which demonstrated very significant reduction in arterial calcification. I've read online that MK-4 may be more rapidly assimilated by human cells because it is more bioavailable than MK-7. Also, the MK-7 remains longer in the blood because human cells PREFER the MK-4 form of K2 and therefore uptake it much more quickly. I have not yet found scientific research online to support that, however (that MK-4 is preferred by our cells). Because of this uncertainty, I take both forms daily.
A lot of other MKS convert to MK4 inside the body. This indicates your body prefers this the most. Emu oil is the highest form then duck liver. Weston prices formula was d3, MK4 and vitamin a. I drink emu oil and eat raw beef liver in the sun. Perfect:)
Thanks for this important information. There is a dry-powder form of natto by the Korean name of cheonggukjang powder available for purchase online. Easy to apply in food, almost tasteless or mild taste.
My Mother in Law has osteoporosis and takes medication for water retention and high blood pressure. Recently in a blood test she was found to have very low B vitamin levels (probably a side effect of the diuretics?) - I got her some vitamin supplements, nothing silly, sensible doses. I noticed they were untouched when we visited her again. She said ‘it says consult your doctor on the label!’. Ok… ask your Doctor, then. Except getting a Doctor appointment is really hard… and months went by, although she has an appointment today. I will bet a weeks wages she will not ask the Doctor if it is ok for her to take supplements- but if she is prescribed any more drugs, she will take them without question, even if she doesn’t know what they are or what they are for…
Some people have no desire to be healed! They enjoy the attention they receive from their doctors! Stupidity but you can't change ignorance sometimes....my mother was that way too...now she's dead.
I sympathize. I know many people like your mother-in-law. I guess she is considered a success story as far as Pharma marketing goes. She fully believes the best thing for her health is to run every little thing by a person with Dr. in front of their name-who will provide her with God's truth.

I have made batches natto several times. As mentioned in the video natto has a large amount of Vit K compared to other foods and is consumed a lot in Japan but is an acquired taste and not for everyone. I made it from non GM soybeans and the necessary spores (on the internet) and previous batches can be used to make new batches so it is really cheap to make. However making it is a bit of a hassle and time consuming so now I just buy it in Asian grocery stores or on the internet and and keep in the freezer.
I make my natto in a yoghurt maker, Adzuki beans or any beans together with the starter, a packet of natto from Japanese store, very easy this way. Didn't know you can freeze it, thats great!
Not true.. if you make your natto the way I do it's simple and takes maybe 5 minutes of your time total time about 24 hours. I use an instant pot to cook the beans in, either soy or black beans, and while I cook the beans I throw in the spoon and containers I'm going to put the natto in, in with the beans so they're disinfected.. after cooling down a bit I pour off the remaining water add some natto starter and put the beans in a plastic container that was disinfected above, put it back in the instant pot for 24 hours at 101°.. after that it's done just put in the fridge and use it as you like..

Please do research on Magnesium and bone health, also. You don't want to leave out the Magnesium (whether getting it transdermally or orally -- through high quality supplements that don't give you digestive distress / loose stools, etc.)
Throw out your calcium and take magnesium instead. Calcium builds up in your arteries and causes heart problems. The best magnesium to buy is ReMag by Dr Dean, the magnesium queen.
My CAC score (Coronary Artery Calcium) was 107 so I took a statin for two years. A new CAC Score was 193. I stopped the statin and took 100 mcg daily of K2 with D3 and magnesium. @@amidavis3860 I don't agree that he said statins save lives. It is such a small percent that the pharmaceutical industry manipulated the number in their research to make it appear it was a big amount. Some say statins increase your lifespan by 4 days. Not worth the side-effects.

My husband died because of kidney disease and related complications. He had uncontrolled diabetes and on Metformin for years. Medicare did not make other drugs for diabetes affordable. The major part of his kidney deterioration, I believe, was caused by Metformin. Eventually, he was able to begin taking a once a week injection, which was a Godsend, but the damage was already done. When he was hospitalized for another illness, the hospital would not allow him to take the working Trulicity because they said it could not be controlled, so they pumped him full of insulin. He blew up like a balloon, had to have multiple Lasik treatments, only to have his heart become so over-taxed and suffer related damage. He died of heart failure. Of course, because he had had COVID months before, the official medical examiner's reason for his death was COVID related death. Of course, his death was during the height of the COVID epidemic. I expressed my beliefs, but I found out very quickly I could not afford legal representation to bring this forward.
Thanks. Went plant based 10 years ago, and also started taking D3 and K2, about 2,000 IU and 45 ugm, But a few years ago doubled, so now take 5,000 IU a day D3 and 100 ugm most days of K2-Mk7. D3 dose is based on keeping my circulating D3 above 40 ng/ml, which 2,000 IU did not. But supplement impact varies a lot so test a couple of months after dose change and tweak accordingly.
THANK YOU. Most informative on so many levels. I take vitamin K2 as I have osteoporosis, but from this video I have learnt even more about additional benefits of this vitamin which are also important for me to know.
MK-4 is extremely well absorbed that is why it doesn't stay in the blood very long. MK7 is a very large molecule that doesn't absorb as easy. MK4 is shown to increase matrix-gla and osteocalcin. I would personally take both MK4 and MK7 due to how they have different longevity in the blood and different actions. For example, MK4 is crosses the blood brain barrier and MK7 does not.
I follow a nutrient dense plant based diet. I went on vegan diet after a serious accident that caused a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Because of the TBI I have very little sense of taste, smell and no sense of hunger. I was eager to eat foods that would heal my brain and many vegan foods are high in anti inflammatory properties. Unfortunately many of those same foods cause kidney stones which I developed. After much research I learned that often stones are caused by foods that are high in oxalates and many plant based foods (spinach, beets, almonds, etc...) should be avoided. So, I am struggling with what I can and can not eat.
Hi @JoJo W. I recommend searching Dr. Berg on TH-cam for this. I have kidney stones and was looking for answers. Dr. Berg recommends fresh lemon juice (I squeeze 1 lemon a day into water or sugar-free drinks) and potassium citrate - both help to dissolve oxalate stones. The big one is 2.5 litres of water a day to dilute and prevent the stones forming. It’s been a year since my last stone attack and I’ve had no problems following his advice. Oh, and if your stones are calcium, K2 MK7 pulls the calcium out of your blood stream and soft tissues where it shouldn’t be and deposits it in your bones. For your brain injury, he recommends B1 as that repairs the myelin sheath, which is the protective coating around your nerves. Calcium plaque can form in the brain, so K2 will also help there… and D3 and Zinc will also be hugely beneficial… if you watch his videos, you’ll get the picture :) Take care and good luck to you! (P.S. Dr. Berg is strongly into Keto diet and grass-fed, natural fats and meat, but there is a lot of supplement advice that you can follow and stay vegan too).
I hope your ferritin is good. I'd switch to a carnivore diet instead. Meat can be very healing and nutrient dense. Also, Oxalate free, low histamine, good iron and b12, and no antinutrients.
Eating only organic grassfed beef 2x week improved my life so much as I became so sick as a vegan. I was so anemic at 85 lbs I couldn't function and my organs were hurting from starvation.
I have taken K2 for a couple of years. Recently I looked up which vitamins were fat soluble. K2 is fat soluble, the difference taking it with fat was huge. I was getting referred jaw pain on my daily walk and it immediately stopped. Remarkable.

But had ignored me coughing up bits of blood after getting colds and it being left weeks for YEARS! A specialist said years ago i may have a kidney problem when looking at my m.e. And did the test personally, proved to have very weak coeliac disease. My dr said its ok its only weak you dont have to have special foods. Then came the thyroid. They said underactive, chiropractor said over. I came off the thyroxin. I now have been told EVERY singlevertebrae of my spine is worn out! I have tried since aged 17 to get someone to look at what was wrong with the top to middle of my spine and pain. No wonder i dont like drs. Our NHS doesn’t care as much, just want to push vaccines or drugs. Probably coz theres been WAY TO MANY people coming in the u.k. for the last 50 years! Can i ask - is it normal to have clear urine?
Yes, it is totally normal to have clear urine. When we are very hydrated b/c of drinking much water, the urine will be clear. It can even look like water sometimes. But be careful about drinking too much or more than a gallon of water a day b/c it will dilute your electrolytes. RN, BSN here of 32 years.

I will be taking the Magnesium supplement for the rest of my life.

TELL THESE TRADITIONAL DOCTORS:
The CALCIUM Will Never go to where it is supposed to go Without being Regulated by MENAQUINONE!!!
He asked his surgeon, "how did the calcium get in there..?"
The doctor said, "Well, sometimes the body gets confused.." They Just did Not teach Nutrition Science in Medical school. That's fine, that is why we now have Clinical Registered Dieticians... but still, these MD specialist fall short, and dangerous that you now at such a young age had to have stents...
grrr
Another comment was from an airline pilot who had a major blockage of a major artery. I've retained what he did with Vitamin K2, and high dose Vitamin C, [improves collagen within the endothelium..], and he successfully cleared out blockages On His Own. I may circle back with that Pilot's remedy.. FOUND IT, HERE I AM PASTING BELOW.
FORMER AIRLINE PILOT CLEARED BLOCKAGE-----
"I used Vitamin K2 MK7 and Natural Vitamin C to clean 2 of my 4 heart arteries completely of plaque.
>>> IT IS NOT CHOLESTEROL ALONE
It is not Cholesterol alone-- as the U.S. drug companies want us to believe.
COMPLETELY CLEARED OF PLAQUE
My Calcium Score showed two major heart arteries (there are 4) completely clear of plaque.
STUDIES ON VITAMIN K2 MENAQUINONE
The two K2 studies. One is from Rotterdam titled, "Dietary Intake of Menaquinone is Associated with a reduced Risk of Coronary Heart Disease:
The Rotterdam Study" by Dr.Johanna Geleijnse and associates.
The other study is "Proper Calcium Use: Vitamin K2 as a promoter of Bone and Cardiovascular Health", by Dr Katarzyna Maresz, who is the president and scientific coordinator of International Science and Health Foundation in Krakow, Poland.
BEST BOOK by NYC PROFESSOR CARDIOLOGY
And the best book I found on the subject is also sold on Amazon by Dr Dennis Goodman a NYC Professor of Cardiology and his book "Vitamin K2: The Missing Nutrient for healthy Hearts and Bones."
Well worth the $2 for the Kindle Version. Get Your Calcium Score. The computer on the CT X-Ray machine computes your chances of dying from a Heart Attack in the next X years.

Dr. Hashmi,
A cardiologist in 2005 told me that I needed a stent because I had a clogged artery. He first asked 3 questions, which I answered.
1) He asked, "Do you feel very tired while walking?"
I said NO, NOT AT ALL," and I walked a lot because I love walking!
2) He asked, "How many miles would you say that you've walked?"
I said, 3 and sometimes 4 miles; I walked outdoors a lot, plus when I'm indoors, I use my treadmill which has rolling hills. As I said, I love walking!
3) He said when climbing stairs, "Do you get tired or out of breath?"
I said NO.
I said, "Doc, I just want to know one thing, if you were me, would you have the stent?"
He said NOPE, I WON'T, but as I've already said, this decision is ONLY yours to make!
Thanks, Dr. Hashmi and Michele, for this interesting podcast; God bless🙏
Today is Friday, June 21st, 2024, and here's another update.
Thank God 🙏

Yes healthy people aren't profitable for big pharma!

Good God, so which is it! Someone please clarify
@@noname-nu6oo Hahahahahahaha
Holy Hairy eyebrows Batman !!!

Well said.
do you take them together or separate?

I’m thrilled to hear this conversation bc most Drs only want to PRESCRIBE a pill and seem to totally DIMINISH the supplements…Thank you for sharing this
I am always looking for good videos and channels I can refer people to. For details on K1,2,4,7,9. This is by far the best video I have seen so far.
@@Teramis I take magnesium glaciate at bedtime , can I take k2 and vit D3 with that. Thanks for your help. I do Excercise and light weights.
@@jeangriggs201 Be patient with it. Reabsorbing calcium into the bone is a long slow process but it definitely works over time, and I have the DEXA scans to prove it. :)

Thanks! Ive been using an MK4 / MK7 supplement . Thanks for clarifying that only the MK7 meniquinone is the effective form of K2 .
The vast majority of Mk-7 is converted into Mk-4 in the body. 95 percent of the Vitamin K found in the human brain is K2 MK-4. Mk-4 is the superior version. The people that make these videos need to take the time to read the studies more carefully.

Check your multivitamin to read K2 specifically, its unusual for them to have K2. And if K2, then mk7 for sypure!

Almost all the studies with K2 have used MK-4 form. Just because it disappears in the blood, it doesn't mean it's not doing something beneficial. Best to take both forms of MK-7 and MK-4. Life extension has such a brand.
Mk4 is based on animal, mk7 is plant base
I think they are synthetically produced
@@prioris55555 I understood the only synthetic form of K2 is MK1 which is of very dubious benefit.

Two forms of vitamin K2 are typically found in supplements: MK-4 (synthetic) and MK-7 (natural, from natto). There are significant differences between them: in paticular, MK-7 has a longer half-life, so a smaller dose can be used. Two newer forms of MK-7 are available that are synthetic.

My mom has one kidney and began to take beef tallow which has vitamin K1 and has improved so much without supplementation
@@skybox-101 she said k1
She said K1 stays only in the Liver, K2 extends throughout the body organs, so we should take K2. My father has one kidney with metastasis of renal clear cell carcinoma, so I am going to put him on the K2 (he's already on B complex +Vit C, and Vit D3). Edit: he also drinks Gatorade Zero (as a diabetic) to get his electrolytes.

I've seen similar scientific studies that the mk-4 variant that proved to be the most effective. Dr Barrie Tan who's done long research says the same

I will bet a weeks wages she will not ask the Doctor if it is ok for her to take supplements- but if she is prescribed any more drugs, she will take them without question, even if she doesn’t know what they are or what they are for…
Ask the pharmacist. They will be more informed about what ok to take with prescription.

Super simple to make using an instant pot

My husband died because of kidney disease and related complications. He had uncontrolled diabetes and on Metformin for years. Medicare did not make other drugs for diabetes affordable. The major part of his kidney deterioration, I believe, was caused by Metformin. Eventually, he was able to begin taking a once a week injection, which was a Godsend, but the damage was already done. When he was hospitalized for another illness, the hospital would not allow him to take the working Trulicity because they said it could not be controlled, so they pumped him full of insulin.

Yes, miso, natto, and fermented soybean curd are available at many Asian supermarkets.
Try adding fiber in your diet. From fruits and nuts, some dried fruit like dates. Just don’t eat too much.
Go carnivore it is saving many lives and a positive quality of life.

I am taking a tablet called Micardis for high blood pressure (or hyper tension), and have been told that if used over the longer term, it could have a negative affect on Kidney function. Now I am wondering whether taking K2 MK7 may be a good idea.

I guarantee you will see your blood pressure drop
