Alakaizer Yeah all the wall market stuff was great. Seeing Cloud get thrust even further outside his comfort zone than in the original was hilarious, I died when Andrea dipped him.
5:55 I just heard Matt say in a livestream how annoyed he was that no-one said anything about his Rick And Morty/Cloud animation here, and I gotta say, it's great but I didn't notice it the first time.
I’ve only played the remake, and the whole time I was aware on Aerith’s fate. It was heart breaking, but made my time with her that was sweeter. It’s not beautiful because it last forever.
This game is such a sweet memory. I'll never forget the trauma of seen my main healer killed off at the tender age of 10, crying my eyes out for a week because I learned main characters don't always triumph and survive, and than struggling to find the next best healer for my party who turned out to be Nanaki 😌 yes sweet memories indeed
Heh, yeah, I almost said, 'Too bad they did not know they were going to make the Advent Children movie, and Crisis Core animes, now this commercial is really dated.'
I never played the original so I actually thought it was a real trailer. And when ProZD showed up I was like "what does he have to do with this". Didn't recognize his voice.
Was 15 when Aerith (who was definitely Aeris) died. I had experienced some deaths of characters I liked in games, but Aerith was different. It wasn't that she was some silly Waifu, Aerith clearly symbolizes hope and innocence. Her death clearly symbolizes the death of those things, and for many of us it represented the deaths of our childhood.
I've probably watched this video 20 times over by now, and Carl Sagan saying "every young couple in love" as the chocobos run past Aerith and Cloud still makes me cry. I don't know why, it's just such an oddly beautiful moment.
the transition from Carl sagan's heartfelt "pale blue dot" speech to Tifa's heart-pounding bazongas- thats the best heart-to-heart u can hope for... loved every bit of it...
When you learn Cloud's real true backstory, his personality and demeanor make so much more sense and it was rare to give main characters this ambiguous slow burn to learning the real origins of themselves in the 90s.

It’s 5 years later and I am ready for a review, I watched both games recently and the story was amazing no doubt and now I understand why boyfriend-san felt when Aereth died.
The first entry of the game was made when the dev almost bankrupt/disbanded or something. It's called final fantasy because they thought it would be their final game. Welp, it turned out to be one of the most influential RPG and JRPG in history lol.
I don't know, why does Red Dead need to keep getting Redeemed? Or Assassin's keep having a Creed? No one hops on any other video game name but somehow keep making that same old Final Fantasy joke.
They share several same things such as same/similar spell names, the existence of crystal which have different purpose and even concept in every game (Actually this is the real mascot(???) of FF), and similar title music i think.
@@Dave_ja_vu no, it was like 6 months before they released any kind of patch and it was a minor bug fix. what he showed was probably the most extreme example, but if you sprint towards an objective or conversation marker the game takes a couple seconds to load it. you probably either didn't sprint very much or just stopped frequently to listen to ambient dialogue or it was just never long enough for you to noticed. and i don't think it got patched because i'm 99% sure they basically reached the limit of what they could do with that engine and hardware and instead focused on the ps5 upgrade, what we got is basically as good as they're going to get it on ps4

Although Aerith's death is several parts from now, I managed to reimagine that scene to how it's gonna be like in the final product. Pretty sure I nailed it.
They have said that at this point they don't know how it's going to be broken up. Basically said how long the games are will determine when they come out. So if the games are shorter we will get them sooner but I honestly hope that's not the case. Cause if so are they trying to charge full price for 4-5 games? I'm really hoping they keep it resigned to just three, in which case Aerith will most def die in the next game
@@kylerqaz22 People tend to forget that the three discs aren't broken up equally. Disc 3 is literally only the final dungeon, boss, and cutscenes. And disc 1 is slightly longer than disc 2 so disc 1 is like half the game, they could definitely split it into two more parts of they wanted to
@@talancorwell I guess Im more thinking of it as, if they dont end with that part, where would they end the second game? And then, where in the third would her death be? (or at least where we find out if she will die or not) It feels like it would need to be at the end of the second game for pacing purposes

And then his most confident moment: "Nailed it. I know. Thank you. Move on."
I love that one addition more than anything else.
Alakaizer Yeah all the wall market stuff was great. Seeing Cloud get thrust even further outside his comfort zone than in the original was hilarious, I died when Andrea dipped him.
That is his whole character. He is a lonely kid who wants to be Zack.
videogame: has a minor annoying thing
girlfriend reviews: that's what inspired us to create this channel
Is this the same girl that made bass guy parody of bad guy from belly eyelash
Yes it is 🙂
Welcome aboard. This channel is wonderful.
5:55 I just heard Matt say in a livestream how annoyed he was that no-one said anything about his Rick And Morty/Cloud animation here, and I gotta say, it's great but I didn't notice it the first time.
For reference, I believe the last game to be rated "Pure, certified, bananas" was Yakuza 0.
And that game is amazing. A certified banana means it's a must play
*a-bananas
That seamless and brilliant transition into the Raycon ad made me sit back, smirk, and let out a single clap of adulation.
So the FF7 Remake is perfect since.. I did not hear a "hold up a minute"
Perfect if you're watching. Not if you're playing.
That goddamn crane ✊
My only gripe is that it’s not the complete game. Outside of that I absolutely loved it. Not that anyone was asking hahaha.
My wife did not like watching me play this. I understand why she couldn’t accept anime bullshit as an answer. 😂
Naw she doesn't like you looking at tifa's rack all day man
Show her the honey bee inn scene!
Moch Iqbal Nurjaman she saw it, wasn’t impressed 😂
Abi Rizky no, Tifa’s big ole titties are looking at me. I’m just trying to be a scene kid with a big ass sword in peace.
@@DrGaslight187 Most woman actually screaming when they are shown the honey bee scene. I don't know what's wrong with your wife.
You deserve an award for that intro.
I’ve only played the remake, and the whole time I was aware on Aerith’s fate. It was heart breaking, but made my time with her that was sweeter. It’s not beautiful because it last forever.
She doesn't die yet tho
This game is such a sweet memory. I'll never forget the trauma of seen my main healer killed off at the tender age of 10, crying my eyes out for a week because I learned main characters don't always triumph and survive, and than struggling to find the next best healer for my party who turned out to be Nanaki 😌 yes sweet memories indeed
That was one of the smoothest sponsor segues I've ever seen
for a while I really thought the beginning voice was an old trailer of FF7 LMAO
So the “Pro” in ProZD stands for “pro bono”
That transition to the sponsor was absolutely perfect.
"Is these a hand job store?"
lmao😂😂🤣🤣
the transition from Carl sagan's heartfelt "pale blue dot" speech to Tifa's heart-pounding bazongas- thats the best heart-to-heart u can hope for... loved every bit of it...
When you learn Cloud's real true backstory, his personality and demeanor make so much more sense and it was rare to give main characters this ambiguous slow burn to learning the real origins of themselves in the 90s.
Could we get a Fire Emblem Three Houses Girlfriend Review?
I want that too but I'm scared that they're gonna make a review based on one route
FE is also NOT a fun game to watch. . .unless you know precisely what you're doing, and even then turn based grid combat has a very small appeal crowd.
True I want but I know won’t happen
you got the whole smash bros. line up, give it a rest
@@matthoelker3782 Uh. . . Except there are more Mario and Pokemon characters than Fire Emblem characters. Not sure why peopleg to so readily ignore that fact other than the meme itself. And wanting someone to review a FE has nothing to do rwith Smash, FE 3 Houses was a fairly decent game all things considered, ans ad whether Nintendo fans agree or not, the series is quite successful, of course Nintendo is going to push it.
The moment that shook me the most was when Cloud went “Like I give a shit”.
And I was like, oh, okay.
The transition to the raycons was amazing. It was so good I almost didn’t realize it was product placement. Very well done
had to pause after Carl Sagan's speech to wipe my tears... never thought I'd have that happen in one of your videos
Hell yeah, Carl Sagan with some FF7 cutscenes. Hit me in the feels real hard. My favorite review video by you guys.
This is literally my favorite TH-cam channel I get so happy when I see you guys upload:))
Best girlfriend reviews opening ever 😭❤️
And best product advertisement segue ever 😂
ProZD is so damn good, i legitmentally thought that was the original trailer guy.
It’s 5 years later and I am ready for a review, I watched both games recently and the story was amazing no doubt and now I understand why boyfriend-san felt when Aereth died.
God, I still come back to this video every once in awhile because of how well made it is, especially that beginning part. Good job guys.
You guys have one of the best channels on TH-cam! Your comedic timing and pop culture references are top notch, thank you!
Why it called final Fantasy when its been that way for like 15 times
The first entry of the game was made when the dev almost bankrupt/disbanded or something. It's called final fantasy because they thought it would be their final game.
Welp, it turned out to be one of the most influential RPG and JRPG in history lol.
I don't know, why does Red Dead need to keep getting Redeemed? Or Assassin's keep having a Creed?
No one hops on any other video game name but somehow keep making that same old Final Fantasy joke.
@@carlotta4th loool guys, it's a joke
They share several same things such as same/similar spell names, the existence of crystal which have different purpose and even concept in every game (Actually this is the real mascot(???) of FF), and similar title music i think.
They wanted to call it fighting fantasy but the name was taking so they took another word that started with f
7:10 caught me way off guard I repeated that part 1000 times and literally could not breath
6:05 New definition of unpolished loading: "long awkward silence"
I did not experience this once while playing it so maybe it's been fixed since they played? Idk
@@Dave_ja_vu Very possible. Games get patched post-release all the time.
@@Dave_ja_vu no, it was like 6 months before they released any kind of patch and it was a minor bug fix. what he showed was probably the most extreme example, but if you sprint towards an objective or conversation marker the game takes a couple seconds to load it. you probably either didn't sprint very much or just stopped frequently to listen to ambient dialogue or it was just never long enough for you to noticed. and i don't think it got patched because i'm 99% sure they basically reached the limit of what they could do with that engine and hardware and instead focused on the ps5 upgrade, what we got is basically as good as they're going to get it on ps4
i really liked the character development in some of the side quests. like when he goes from flaming that old man to helping those kids for 3 gil. that and the fact you unlock secret quests for doing all side quests kept it fresh for me. oh and the combat
that was the best advertisement transition I've ever seen. I'll buy a Raycon
No one:
90's Parents: We're talking about space magic.
Linus, eat your heart out, Girlfriend Reviews just showed EVERY OTHER TH-camR how to properly implement a segue into an ad. 10/10 would watch again. 🙌🏻
Was anyone else super confused about Aerith’s death as a child? For the rest of the game I was screaming at the TV “OMG JUST USE A PHOENIX DOWN” lol. This game taught me that if death happens during gameplay, it’s meaningless, but if it happens during a cut scene, it’s permanent.
The amount of love you guys put in these videos is just amazing. Been here since the 200k and can't wait to see the new videos you guys put up.
Thank you so much. Been getting a lot of negativity today and it's nice to be appreciated for our efforts!
WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO HIT ME SO HARD IN THE FEELS WITH THAT INTRO?
Hey, I was Googling "fat coc hobos" for, uh, reasons, and it brought me here.
Welcome here then.
You came to the right place
The Jeff you win the comments section lol
This game is the only reason why I became a game developer. I said myself I would get into Square enix and be part of the Remake, unfortunately life had different plants to me lol.
@BALD CAT lol he did not become a developer thats what he mean
did you become a gardener??
@@leonard9624 He says that he had become a game developer, but couldn't get into Square Enix
@@chuchuleptitrain I had to quit learning 3d for years, just came back 3 years ago, I' m not a developer but I do sculpting for 3d printing figures and still thinking to go for the game developer route.
3:31 actually made me tear eyed.
You had something so beautifully at the beginning then immediately ruined it with pointing out how good tifa looks lmao I love it
"Where that lady come from?" LOL
That first 3:45 of this video might be the best thing you've made so far
The first 4 minutes hurt me right in the feels. From this day forward, when someone will ask me '' what's the deal with FF7?'' , I will show them this video. First on the list, my wife. Thank you!
God bless whoever edits these videos. The always Sunny bit, the bubbles line and the "look at all those chickens" all got me.
7:22 I feel like that clip can sum up people trying to understand the Kingdom Hearts and Fate series
This was a masterpiece of a review. The Carl Sagan bit is a stroke of creative genius. And yes as a 90’s kid a lot of this resonates deep lol.
TH-cam's algorithm pointed me towards a level of sass that I never knew I needed in life
The limit break explanation at the end was spot on.
The comparison from our planet, to FFVII to Carl Sagans Pale Blue Dot, you did an amazing job.... Gave me chills.....Everything combined... It hit me hard...
i love that you guys just run with your narration these days!! you rly don’t need a pun every minute to be entertaining!
“It’s complete nonsense and I have no idea what’s going on.” 5 bananas.
Also, huge ff fan here, does no one else have an issue with how much ridiculous grunting is in this game?
Lol it's normal
Johannes Choo I agree but i feel like it was magnified a lot here. Glad I’m not alone at least.
It's a japanese thing. it doesn't really translate over to english. Even though i'm used to it, I still notice it and feel it's a bit strange.
@@raimee81 Fo sho. I've played several Japanese games and I can never get used to it. Just seemed even more extreme here. by... a lot.
@@joshkennedy1135 huh? Oh...hmm. (*agreeable nod) hmmph
Although Aerith's death is several parts from now, I managed to reimagine that scene to how it's gonna be like in the final product. Pretty sure I nailed it.
Several? They would have to pull some black magic for it not to be in the very next part. Its still part of disc one after all
They have said that at this point they don't know how it's going to be broken up.
Is she even going to die this time with all of the changes they made?
@@kylerqaz22 People tend to forget that the three discs aren't broken up equally. Disc 3 is literally only the final dungeon, boss, and cutscenes. And disc 1 is slightly longer than disc 2 so disc 1 is like half the game, they could definitely split it into two more parts of they wanted to
@@talancorwell I guess Im more thinking of it as, if they dont end with that part, where would they end the second game? And then, where in the third would her death be? (or at least where we find out if she will die or not)
It feels like it would need to be at the end of the second game for pacing purposes
The Sephiroth scene had me in tears. I couldn’t breathe!
Why was the intro made me emotional??? 😭 The life lessons and the nostalgia my god 🤧
You get a sitting ovation for how you cut in advertisements
