I noticed that the Gnome Overlord is now referring to "loot boxes" with the proper name Gamble Boxes. I like that.
As do I!!! I wish, that on so many different levels, World of Warships could be like it used to be... I love the game. However, there was a time when corporate was not so greedy and players' voices were heard... 🇺🇸

I would not be angry at WG if a ship cost 50$ and loot boxes were something you could only get with silver or through missions. Making certain ships (paid)-loot box exclusive is textbook gambling indeed.
The Fiji was like: this team tried real hard to throw this match, I don't want their efforts to be in vain.

That is not how you measure the value of a ship, by saying "a......can take on a Fiji". Most tier 7 battleships can take on a Fiji in a 1 v 1 fight, but this is not how the game actually works. The Fiji is indeed one of the best, if not the best tier 7 ship because of his versatility and the ability to face almost all kinds of threats (except CVs of course) while working within a team.
And Sinop, potentially even Nelson.

OK, to be fair Admiral Jingles did not say it lacked those, he just held back on what it did have and how good they are, I have both and say the Flint is the better of the two, 1 less turret on a side, but better AA and 9.2 K torps and smoke, a faster reload and when pared with a DD and or CA with radar to round things out, I have to say the Admiral is to be expected to have a fondness for the RN but most of the time he is able to call ships from other nations for what they are and can do.
@@johnking1896 Oh, I have Flint too, and even with the hard nerfs it got with the commander skill rework (to the point where it's gotten two range buffs since then, still not on par with Atlanta though 😡), I'd say it's pretty much on par with Fiji. Better torps, worse AP, but can burn you down like few other ships in the game, let alone at T7.
I was worried that...well..: I'll call him Dave- was going to be robbed after that Amagi rammed.
However, a civil defeat like we saw is preferable to some of the toxic wins often seen in WoWs: A rare flower in a field of weeds.
Hell, I probably would've let the DD come and end me, since the theme of the team is "pointlessly throwing your ships away"
I've watched Jingles's videos for years and years. I've listened to his videos while getting ready to go to sleep cause ya know his voice is pretty calming and relaxing. Well I was watching this video on my tv and my wife said she now understands why I like your videos so much, she said it's nice watching a video and not being blasted by the audio. The Fiji is so good that her engines can bring her to a full stop or start in milliseconds, and her guns are so amazing they manage to destroy targets before actually shooting at them. With such power, God only knows why the sun eventually set on the British Empire.

This is the good part of having both teams chat with each other. It comes with its downsides but there’s also this side to it all. It’s a beautiful thing, ain’t it?
You must have forgotten about the SinOP at tier VII, being a super historical ship and all that
it IS mostly accurate to its historical design though. Sinop is actually based on proper, legit plans for a Black Sea BB. the only difference between the design and the ingame ship is, that the B turret in the design was not superfiring, whereas, ingame, it is.

Lol i love my SinOP, the first tier 7 BB i owned where i actually felt confident fighting tier 9s .
That wasn't a lag spike - that was just the FIji's engines decelerating and accelerating again :P (Sinop is my tier 7 go to)

I remember a lower tier Flambass video from a few months back where he ended up on the opposing team to Mr. G. who was sailing the Fiji. Towards the end of the game having never set eyes on each other previously Flambass came round an island to find Mr. G. sat directly in front of him. Before battle could be joined though Mr. G. was deleted by a battleship that penned the Fiji straight through the end and into the citadel. As I recall Flambass found this quite amusing!

I kinda liked my Gneisenau, before they nerfed secondaries the no-fun-zone was great.
And if you get chased by something scary you can always throw some torps their way, especially where you know they have to maneuver 😉
Edit: checked my stats and I have 55%wr, and funnily enough 6% of my hits are with torps, vs 12%-seconary and 28%-main.
Gneisenau and Scharnhorst are both awesome heavy cruisers. Play like a cruiser and you will be fine. Play like a little Bismark and tears may soon follow.
I also loved the Yorck, but I haven’t played in a couple of years.

Your praise of the Fiji is reminding me of when I started right after British cruisers were introduced. It was my first line, my first T10, and I didn't have a premium account. I think the Leander is still my most played ship because of that. When I got toe the Fiji I was in love and it's my second most played ship. When I started playing other lines it took me forever to get used to the ship handling. I wondered why I kept slowing down when I turned.
Yes, Fiji is awesome, and for some reason I've always done well in her, from the moment I graduated from Leander. She is SO good in fact that they copy/pasted her into T8, gave her an upgraded heal, a 5th slot and slightly better torps and renamed her Edinburgh. They have literally the same dmg output.
Edin has better armor and better AA. It's not downright copypaste

I got Edin from containers few years back , and year ago I done reset of UK light cruiser line and I played Fiji and... she is good , but after I grinded to Edin , I did not play it again.
Do not forget, access to radar for Eddy. Nobody expects a radar Eddy. Which makes smacking lolli-boat cheeks all the more fun when you wait for them to close in a bit (because they're being sneaky no? No way that stupid CA can see them) and them BOOM, hello cute little boat. Where do you think you're going? Since you're going to be facing other radars anyway, smoke has strongly diminished value at T8, so choosing radar is imho actually worth it.

I like the Helena.
Helena has the highest DPM and I also think she has the highest HE Alpha. Not sure if it still does since I stopped playing world of wargambling almost a year ago.
Helena is glorious, underwater citadel to troll even the biggest of BB guns at close range, 15 6in guns make the largest single salvo damage of all the T7 cruisers (you haven't lived till you have caught a DD in smoke and slammed all 15 round into the poor things hull for 3/4 of its HP in one salvo) and it just looks great. 10/10 fuck u Fiji Helena is better (now all they gotta do is give her radar and her historical rate of fire, then make her T9 because she would be broken)

After grinding American Heavy Cruiser I went to French Cruisers, they felt like DD's up to the CM. Algeria is a ton of fun, fast, agile, hard hitting torps with good range, main gun reload boost, and a decently protected citidel. She's great because she doesn't need smoke or a heal to stay in the game.

I really like the Weimar. It was the first ship I bought and I played it so many times that it became an extension of my psyche. I love the Fiji though, huge fan of the UK cruisers.
Allways adored the situation where british cruiser parks and smokes up while playing Nagato or Fuso. Spotter plane up and BOOM! It was a while since I played Wows but I hope that trick stayed the same.
When I played WoWS the Fiji was absolutely my favorite ship. Even had Jingles as my commander. Teaming up with a Belfast was usually very deadly to the enemy, kinda like the Atlanta and Flint used to be. I miss the Fiji, but WoWS, not even for a minute.

2nd comment: 17:20 onwards - It's another proof of my "Hard name, no brain"-theory. Guy is an utter potato, you can check for yourself on WOWs Stats & Numbers.
90% of the time the level of hardness of the nicname corresponds directly with the potatoness of the player. The correlation becomes exponential if the name contains "sniper" or any kind of special forces reference. :P X)
Maybe he does not spend 8 hours a day playing this game, maybe he has a job and a family. People like you amuse me. IT IS A GAME!. When stats are the main focus for you, it becomes a task. Just let people enjoy it and stop being so judgmental and toxic.
@@martin1377 I'm not toxic, I just detest ignorance and make fun of it. Anyone who bothers to learn the basic game mechanics comes out at a win rate of about 48-50%. That guy has 5000 games+ (that's double of what I got) and his win rate indicates that he just can't be bothered with learning anything.
If he is low IQ or anything, that's fine. But What I experience very often is that players with stats like that are the most entitled, toxic and insulting.
One more thing: I just love the statistics function of MMOs. They tell me how I am doing objectively and I can check the level of competence of others. Often my subjective idea of how I or others do is wrong (over- or underestimating), so they are helpful. And I take pride in being decent at those games. My friends call me a stat whore for a reason and we have a good laugh about it. XD
So yeah, while I like stats, I don't make a fetish out of them. How about you start a respectful conversation next time instead of being judgemental?

@@martin1377 Call it what you want. Potatoes like that ruin the game. You have 24 people playing for up to 20 minutes trying to win and get win bonuses. You can say "it's just a game" all day, but winning really does help get you there faster. So yes, potatoes should be called out from time to time. My opinion only of course.
@@martin1377 See the problem is, WoWS is a *team* game. You don't have to slave away to be a decent player, but there are a good number of people who either can't really get a grasp on how to properly play and know it (sometimes even asking others for help because they want to play better because it's more fun/rewarding), or don't care about actually learning how to play.
And while both statistically negatively affect your chance of your *team* not getting their shit pushed in, the people that want to get better are infinitely better than the "I-don't-care-loosing-is-fun-to-me" participation trophy types who get pissy when you give them advice or don't sacrifice yourself for their idiotic play. Hell, the people that want to get better are actually admirable and I love them, not just because the vast majority of them started off the same as them.

This sounds impossible, I know, but a couple months back I was in a Gneisneau of all ships, beginning of yet another match, saw a Fiji at the near max range of my guns, though "Ah well, you miss all the shots you don't take, even when you know you're gonna miss" I launch the spotter plane, Pull the Trigger, guns go off, the Fiji goes undetected again, I think nothing of it, knowing that shots gonna miss.
Couple Seconds later and I get the Devisating Strike and the First Blood achievements... One of my shells detonated the Fiji
Moral of the story, always remember to mount your Juliet Charlie flag boys and girls

It is already OP without a heal. And he was talking about all t7 ships that you can still get. He mentioned the Belfast, but you can only get it in gambling boxes so it didnt make the awesome t7 ship list.
He Said that the Fiji where the only realy good tier 7 and he did not say the Belfast so i needed to say it is.
I Bought it when it where for sale several years ago and i like it even if its very rare that i play it in randoms at all.
Its a very good and Op ship in its own right Add a heal and it would be kind of unstopebel.
And that might be the only real diff that might be that the Fiji have over it.

My Grandfather served on HMS Jamaica, a Fiji class. Yes it is the best cruiser, or ship in its tier.
It's more enjoyable to listen to Jingles narrate other people's matches than it is to actually play any garbage Wargaming title. Haven't touched WoT and WoWS in yeeears but it's still great to watch this content.

Have you forgotten about the existence of Sinop? Also I'd personally say Haida and Minsk are better than Fiji. KGV is very strong, about on par with Fiji. Other ships you forgot to mention were Jervis, which is excellent, and Helena, which has a devastating broadside (for a light cruiser with such a short reload) of 15 6 inch guns.

Minsk? In what world are you living in? It's a pretty mediocre T7 DD. Jervis is pretty good, but neither Helena nor KGV hold a candle to the Fiji.
@@Subsandsoda @Earl of Northesk If you run AFT, Fearless Brawler, Adrenaline Rush etc etc you got yourself a gunboat with 14 km range that can dodge every incoming salvo using throttle dukes. Sure, maybe the skill floor is high, but in the hands of a good player it's very hard to deal with.

The King George V is one of my absolute favourite WOWS ships. 14 inch guns are fine when you're spamming HE everywhere. They also overpen cruisers far less than other battleships.

Helena kicks this thing's ass 6 ways to Sunday jingles, as long as you know when to use your AP and when to use your HE
I like the Yorck simply because if you do win against an opponent, they know you did it on pure skill. No fancy bells and whistles on that thing. Awful stats. Slow turrets...but if you best a guy in a fight, he has to watch you limp away in your still afloat Yorck and rethink his life. Every match you play with one, you have to be on your toes. You can never sit back and enjoy an easy victory. Its like a reality check challenge you give yourself to see how good you really are.

... dont start me with US dd , I started with this line , cause I was dumb and I did not knew any better ... after first 1k battles I had WR 43% , now I have over 10k and WR 52% , so for anyone who want to start WOWS , dont start with US destroyers , Japanise are better for noobs.

C'mon, Jingles! You've played Fallout plenty. Close only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades, and Fat Man warheads! GG to both survivors.
Come on Jingles, T7 also has the Indianapolis, and you get pretty fun to use guns and decent armor in it.
It kind of plays like a smaller North Carolina, except you also get to be useful in supporting DDs with your Radar.
Not to mention, if we're to trust Portland, you're also very cute for some reason.

Admiral Jingles captains my Fiji.
Ramming BB's is one way of ensuring that YOU get ALL the potential damage, both for and against your ship, especially if you are trying to get some of the shipyard missions done. You don't have to rely on the vagaries of the dispersion of your guns, nor that some DD or high speed torpedo armed cruiser won't fill the target full of torps between the average BB reload. Might be why both those BB's rammed their oposing BB, despite having the HP advantage.
