- With the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, I took an evening and played nothing but British ships. We started off with Tier VIII cruiser HMS Edinburgh in honor of her late husband. I love trolling random games with radar Edinburgh, and this spin on Two Brothers is no different. I get to play with some destroyers, torpedo a battleship, and just make a right royal nuisance of myself. I like to think the Duke of Edinburgh would have been proud.

If I recall, XP points are based on the percentage of a ships total HP that you damage. You get more points for taking 10K HP off a 20,000HP destroyer than if you took the same 10K off a BB, for example. You took a big percentage chunk of three destroyers, a cruiser and a BB, hence big XP rewards.
Also planes are worth quite a bit.
To be fair to the asashio, he was in a pickle. With your DD screening and your radar (and his GZ less than efficient), he was a bit gimped whatever he did on that flank. I mean, his Massa basically suicided too...
Reversing in British CA always seemed kinda bugged to me. Almost always get that "I slammed into something, but my speed take an effing long time to drop"...

IIRC, the more your 'spread out' your sources of base XP, the better you do compared to just eg farming lots of HE damage. You did damage with guns, damage with torps, killed planes, got caps, 32k of spotting, and so on. Plus the 6 decaps probably didn't hurt your base XP, either...
Hate the Brit cruisers, short range and sneeze in there general direction, dead in 60 seconds
They're kind of light cruiser on hard mode, but they absolutely murder destroyers that get caught out.
