Minor note: This class of A-H battleships uses armor from a company named Witkokitz. My evaluations of this armor is that it was the BEST Krupp Cemented-type -- only major type of heavy side armor on battleships from about the year 1900 on -- face-hardened armor used by anyone through the year 1929, due to this company and the US Midvale Company both seemingly hitting on the correct method of post-hardening tempering (toughening) treatments to reduced brittle fracture on projectile impact. After 1930 most armor manufacturers, though not all, had finally understood the problem and fixed it Witkowitz made some armor for England in the late-1930s and, amazingly, the Germans allowed it to be delivered as ordered. Go figure...

The pronunctiation would be something like "se-*le*-bes": se with e as in the (boat), le with e as in bin, but longer, bes with e as in best. At least, in Dutch. Main thing (which would probably be true in English as well): the second syllable is stressed. It got its name from the island now known as Sulawesi.
"Austria, not particularly known as a naval power" ?Wut? Georg von Trapp (from the Sound Of Music von Trapps, played by Christopher Plummer) was a submarine commander in the Austro-Hungarian Navy in WWI. I thought everybody knew that, although there was never any mention of his several successful war patrols in the movie.
Actually in the game the AA compliment of the Viribus Unitis consists of 2 archers shooting arrows and 2 additional sailors throwing stones at the planes.
The thing with T5 Cruisers is that players thinks it a good idea to sail in open water and in strait line with the same speed and to close to BBs, just use cover from islands and only shoot at bbs when they are coming towards you, so you can start shooting when they are still officially out of your gun range and if the bb is the closest to you, you remain undetected, And off course sail away from the bb. My favourite T5 Cruiser is the Murmansk and I have burned a lot of bbs to the bottom.
I guess The Martian entirely depends on whether you like reading a textbook or watching a comedic-drama. Most people prefer the movie, as the book is too complex to follow. For example, in the scene where Mark Watney blew himself up trying to make water, there's about 5 pages of formulae where he calculates his fuel/air mix, flow rate etc.
A glorious Austrian warship, we would have been a fearsome naval power if we could station our ships anywhere else but our lakes. Maybe if we sailed them down the Danube into the black sea, through Istanbul and past Greece... that would be a very indirect access to the mediterranian sea

And I thought I was in with a chance of having my Fuso replay shown some time this week, but no way does it compare with what I've just seen. Hats off to Billy and their VU! Just out of interest about ranks of Admirals, what kind of responsibilities did Rear, Vice and Full Admirals have during WW1 & 2, and how were they different?
The Viribus is a bit of an oddball, it's more contemporary to ships like Wyoming, Dante Alleghieri and Kaiser. Yet at t5 with mostly super-dreadnoughts. The hp pool and AA is awful and the belt armor a tad sub-par. But damn those Skoda 12" guns are great. After 1930 most armor manufacturers, though not all, had finally understood the problem and fixed it Witkowitz made some armor for England in the late-1930s and, amazingly, the Germans allowed it to be delivered as ordered. Go figure...
Saw your post at the Tank Museum today (Jingles-Follies, juxtaposed to Hobarts Funnies)... 0~o
I really.. Really!, had to bit my tongue on #3 and #2... >~< But you Sir, were an absolute Rock-Star with the TOG-2* (with a caveat) at #1... ^~^
I remember reading, when I got my Viribus, that it's a bad BB. Sure, it's slow, turrets are slow as well, but it's a fun fun ship.
Jingles - I feel that if you could soak a "laugh" in schadenfreude - yours would only be surpassed by Nelson's from the Simpsons.
I love the way he say I hope you enjoyed it like there was another option
The pronunctiation would be something like "se-*le*-bes": se with e as in the (boat), le with e as in bin, but longer, bes with e as in best. At least, in Dutch. Main thing (which would probably be true in English as well): the second syllable is stressed.
It got its name from the island now known as Sulawesi.
Should've named this clipped, "cruiser crusher"?
ackhkchyually jingles,
the boys is on prime video.
I’m a simple man. I see a jingles vid, I click and press like
Meanwhile me: overpens to infinity and beyond.
You're definitely old but gold sir!
I swear Jingles enjoys a Good Paddling Video.
"The Boys" is really good. I loved the tv show
i have yet to read the comic though, and i will.
Actually in the game the AA compliment of the Viribus Unitis consists of 2 archers shooting arrows and 2 additional sailors throwing stones at the planes.
just be glad you are not in the tier 5 Agincourt!
Viribus Unitas can be fun like that. Of course, it's also squishy for a BB, but it has its moments.
It can survive quite some time bow in, as it has an impressive icebreaker there.
IIRC sufficient to autobounce very large calibre shells.
"I hate people who are intolerant of other people's culture and the Dutch."
Michael Cain
"What could possibly go wrong?" Is that a T-shirt worthy slogan?
Dig that hole, forget the sun. When at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one....
My dear jingles. You've said it yourself, so many times. This is why we play battleships...
Tier V cruisers doing their best impression of a British battlecruiser? Jingles, that one stings.
That Furutaka in the second battle: They won't expect me to do this 18 times in a row!
That was D Bo, he came for the cruelty to under aged boats.
Actually Jingles, the Boys is on prime video not Netflix. Been waiting a long time for an actually Jingles.
T5 cruisers after being citadeled 3 minutes into a game “Tis but a flesh wound!”
Theres almost never a time when the tv/film is better than the book
Technically it only applies to those who ACTUALLY read the books.
Thanks Jingles
A glorious Austrian warship, we would have been a fearsome naval power if we could station our ships anywhere else but our lakes. Maybe if we sailed them down the Danube into the black sea, through Istanbul and past Greece... that would be a very indirect access to the mediterranian sea
didnt austria-hungary own modern day croatia?
@@Annatar5289 Ah, technically yes but nowadays we lack any access to a bigger body of water
@@Annatar5289 And venice....
@@j.p.vanbolhuis8678 that too! You are correct ofcourse, but it really only reinforces my point, so thanks mate ;)
"World of Warships with *The Mighty Jingles*"
Old man, have you forgotten your rank already?
As an Austrian always glad when the Viribus Unitis is featured
2:40 Viribus Unitis, 7cm and 66mm guns - those are the same, since for administrative reason the K.u.K Kriegsmarine classified the 66mm as 7cm.
Hey Mister, just wanted to say well played Sir well played... love that moment you casually turned back on settings while talking about "The Boys"
Perhaps he's a fan of Gangs of New York?
As someone who just started and I'm tier 5 cruisers, I feel this so hard
As a long term player...we understand your pain, thank you for playing...and can you turn your broadside to my ship...just like that and don't worry the hurt will only be momentary.
The obligatory exploding Nurnbergs and Omahas at t5🤣
That was bloody diabolical mate
And I thought I was in with a chance of having my Fuso replay shown some time this week, but no way does it compare with what I've just seen. Hats off to Billy and their VU! As for T5 cruisers, I think its at this point that new players, grit their teeth and 'Git Gud' , become coop only players or just stop playing. Thanks for another great vid Admiral Jingles!
Hoping we get to see her planned bigger cousin at some point, the Ersatz Monarch assuming the Skoda 350mm guns are as nice.
Agree completely on the comics, all were much better as originals, but still quite fair in film form.
The verb unit..so underrated, so hilarious in t7 games since you get largely ignored until its too late.
