    This looks cool, a budget version of this is a Chinese Diesel Heater (8kw, 26000btu/hr version) what you do is duct the exhaust pipe into a large "Heater Core" from a car, then to the outdoors. The heater core will get 350-450°f and you can heat a pot of water on it or cook with waste energy while also heating a space.

      One can build anything he dreams up for sure; but this is a Chinese version of a water heater/space heater as is; just like the diesel heaters to the OG Webasto/Espar brands

    @AZRockRunner ปีที่แล้ว

    Since you put the heater next to the sliding door, wonder where do you put the exhaust that does not get blocked by the door upon open?

    • @budnixon
      @budnixon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great point.
      Heater is to be ran only w/ door closed, and entering/exiting isn’t long enough to cause issues (considering heat loss in interior) will be adding a heat shield on door panel to prevent any damage to plastic panel.
      Exhaust is vented to side closer to center of quarter panel. Tests so far showed it to fully functioning and not an issue.
      It was a brained of “what if”
      Owner said he is fine with that location as well

    What about install it on a sailboat? Thanks for the video!

    • @budnixon

      you can install it anywhere... as long as there is fuel/power source to run it

      no problem,
      Depending on what fuel source is readily available, I would personally suggest propane (just not sure if thats available/common in sailboat industry). Reason for that is that its quite, and one doesnt have to listen to the fuel pump pulsing noise which gets truly annoying to many.

    Do you have a link to the dealer/manufacturer of the unit to look up the specs. This looks like a much better option than the propane version for my application.

      I buy these through a manufacturer in China, I’ll have to find the booklet. What is it that you need info about? They are very much same as Truma heaters (German made)

      Thank you for the response. I am looking at doing an overlanding style vehicle, Alu cabin/Tundra build in a few years and I am doing research for what I feel is the best set up for our needs. This seems to be the best fit especially if it can run on gasoline. I was hoping to find out where I could order one from and it specs to see if it is right for our needs.

    • @budnixon

      I can sell you one, otherwise you'll have to take chance with another supplier.
      For stats as I said - its similar/same as Truma brand heaters. This isnt a simple unit to install (like chinese diesel heaters) - a bit more goes into it as far as getting the right components to connect everything up.
      I'm not at the point where I'm ready to simply giveaway info for which I spent a lot of time researching/risking funds, etc.

      @@budnixon no worries. i am still a few years off starting the project. just in the research stage now. this looks like a much better option than separate heater and water heater. even better if it can all run off gasoline.

    I only wish that TRUMA finally can take a look how better knock-offs in design of control panels. Yeah design of heaters - the real German enginuity no doubt, but everything else… Remote control is only BT??? Abandoned option of GPS ish control via sim. Why? Chinese control panels are WAY more advanced in it, even if made of cheap plastic and ideas. China is like Honda at first in states - no body believe in those uzkogla3blx engineers lol… Now what?

    Chinese design, engineering, & manufacturing is a poor knockoff to the renowned German Engineering & Manufacturing of the Truma.
