I totally feel you. I’ve the same condition since my early twenties but I only recently went to a dermatologist for treatment. I’m 29 now. I started minoxidil 5% and the first 2 months was devastating, I shedded even more hair than before and was so worried I’ll be bald even faster. And I never had thick hair all my life hence every strand is precious! Thank goodness after 3 months the shedding has subsided and I’m started to see some light (baby hairs yay!) so to whoever is starting on minoxidil please don’t give up.
Oh my gosh I have had the exact same journey. Finally my shedding has also stopped and I can also see baby hairs!! Thank goodness we aren’t alone in this ❤️❤️❤️
I'm using since 1month ..... And the trauma is real.... I'm having too much hair shedding...... Your comment gave me hope..... I wish my hair will also re grow💜
@Kiranmai B V I also noticed much Hair growth on my face. So, I stopped using it bcuz there is no going back once you have dense facial hairs. Initially, I thought I'm the only one who had this side effect of minoxidil. But researching a bit, I got to know few ppl get it after using it.
My journey is so similar to yours!! I just got diagnosed with androgenic alopecia today. I’m so glad I finally have a diagnosis. Thanks for sharing your story so we don’t feel so alone. I am only 33 years old.
Hi! I am 21 and I also have androgenetic alopecia, the doctor told me that yesterday... I am really depressed because of that. I have curly hair which used to be beautifull and now I can easily see my scalp.... I hope it will be better someday because it really affects my mental health... Thank you for this video, I am feeling much better after watching it realising i am not the only one with androgenetic alopecia at this early age...
So sorry to hear this is happening to you so young. I'm in my 40s and have this hair loss and it's bad enough now. I can't imagine how difficult this must be to deal with so young. Sending hugs x
I was diagnosed with it after having my second baby. I chalked it up to postpartum shedding. But I started to notice my part getting wider and my growing thinning. I saw a dermatologist and confirmed it’s Androgenic Alopecia. I was just told that PRP shots will cause the hair to grow back but you may have to continue to other methods to keep the hair once it’s back.
So I have andro genetic alopecia but I recently got diagnosed with it about 4 months ago but I have like 2 BIg bald spots on the side of my head . Like no way I can hide it . But I had it since I was like 3 . I got made fun of every single day at school . I hate it so much . I cry a lot . It’s my biggest insecurities. I hate wearing wigs . I can’t even change my hair style . I wish I could be free . When I say I have no edges at all I mean at all . It’s very difficult for me . I ask God why ???? Why ? Lord what did I do for you to do this to me . If you know my heart and my goals and dreams you know this holds me back from everything . Social life . Family . Love life . Professionally . I’m 21 years old and I don’t even like going to my college classes because of it . Hair is a woman glory . I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy honestly.

Jloud+ I really feel for you so MUCH. Understand why you question God over it. I ask God to take me home because I cant handle it. Have you ever seen those hair system things? Deep down I think the answer is that because at least it could be forgotten about for a few months . And then you could wear a blindfold in the salon so you don't have to see the bald reality. I believe thinking about it and seeing it, is what drives you nuts.
It’s possible you have 2 forms of hairloss. Both androgenic Alopecia (caused by genetics) and Alopecia areata, (caused by immune system attacking hair follicles). Unfortunately different hair loss types can overlap. Either way, it’s a horrible experience.
I was just diagnosed with it today and it hurts ☹️ I found you in desperate search for someone who can relate. You are so right when you said its traumatic and terrifying for anyone going through it. I thought for so long it was stress related. I'm having such a hard time coming to terms with it. I'm glad to have found you and your videos because it really has helped me feel like I'm not alone..
I’m sending you so so so much love. So wonderful to know we aren’t alone. It’s sad/scary how many of us actually battle with hair loss. Send me a a dm on Instagram @love_from_lisa if you need to chat x

I just got diagnosed today. I know your pain! My hair is falling more then normal, finally found this dermatologist specialist in hair that gave me this diagnosis. Other dermatologists have told me that was just anxiety due to the pandemic. If I have listened to them I wouldn’t know I have this until my hair started getting super thin. Before that I went to a endocrinologist and all hormones, iron, vitamins are all normal. But it’s great that I found this early in life (21 years old).
Thank you for sharing! I was recently diagnosed after a few years of my hair slowly getting thinner and thinner, which my doctors always put down to treatments I'm on for my auto-immune disease. I was so glad I saw a derm when I did because it's still relatively early where other people don't notice, but I know what my hair used to be like so it does such a lot. It's definitely not spoken about enough and feels really traumatizing to go through and feel so alone. Sending love girl!
Couldn’t agree more!! So many girls go through this but honestly you feel so alone and helpless. I think the more open and honest we are the better we will feel because we can relate to someone. Sending you love right back xxxxx
Thank you for sharing your story. You have every right to get emotional because it is emotional when you experience hair loss. My issue was buying a super relaxer and allowing someone else to put the relaxer in my hair, instead of doing it myself. The relaxer burned and sizzled my hair and scalp. To make matters worse, I started wearing wigs and wasn't eating healthy.
I can totally understand why it feels so terrifying. I was diagnosed with early FPHL too and I'm only in my late teens. I'm glad I went to a derm early cuz I was at least able to at least understand what was happening in my hair. I was prescribed with minoxidil and it was terrifying for me even now on my third month but my hair density has increased and I've seen new baby hairs and few new hair growth around the sides. So, fingers crossed! 🤞 keep going. You will get there, it just takes time.
@@siaw6487 for as long as you can, I think. My doctor did not specify the duration cuz I'm still early on in my treatment. But as far as I've heard you need to be on them for a while even after you get your results. Sure the conc. will be lesser and prescription will be more relaxed but I guess you stick with it for as long as you need those results to stick. For me, I did have to stop using it for a while and as long as I did not go for any other treatments or anything like that (for my hair) they were still the same as they were while I was using it. But of course, minoxidil is a prescription solution so always consult your doctor for this.
@@reannaparker5705 I couldn’t take the minoxidil I had a horrible scary reaction to it so they took me off right away and put me on that spralocaten? medication. I know I spelt that wrong. They started me on it today after I got my confirmed results this morning that I do have early aga 😢 I’ve been crying all day since they confirmed it. Is there any remote chance catching it early can regrow those new baby hairs that were shed or do you eventually go bald one day? Even if it’s caught right away? 😔💔
I have never related to something so much. It made me tear up, I’m going through the same thing. I’ve currently been diagnosed with telogen effluvium, I’ve had it for more than 6 months and I’m starting to feel it’s something else because I see no improvement. I’ve also been on minoxidil and a bunch of other things without success. For a month I was given spironolactone and I realised that even if it worked, it came with a lot of side effects so I stopped. I’m still currently shedding a lot of hair that makes me cry every time I brush it. I’m only 21 and I’m losing hope. I truly wish this didn’t happen to us. Thank you for posting on this!
I’m so so sorry you’re going through this. I truly can relate and it’s honestly the worst thing I have ever been through. It’s debilitating. I’m so sorry. Thinking of you ❤️
@@tinalauritsch5844 unfortunately no. I learned only a few months ago that a part of my triggers were hormonal so I’m currently treating that. My shedding has decreased but I haven’t gotten my volume back and I’m still losing hair. I’m so tired. I hope you feel better soon!
@@ananyasrividya2329 hi sorry to hear that:( I‘m dealing exactly with the same. I‘m loosing about 500 hair per day and its only getting worse. My hormones are also out if wack since like 2 years ago. Got diagnosed with Hashimotos and probably PCOS. Struggled with Acne since 2 years ago and im tired too. Its getting more and more. What do you do to balance your hormones out? Hope u get better soon:)
@@tinalauritsch5844 Oh gosh, I’m so sorry to hear that. I understand how you must be feeling, it never gets easier. I would suggest you see a doctor to see how to balance your hormones out. I would also encourage you to change your lifestyle (especially if you have PCOS) to naturally balance out your hormones so when you do stop medications, you can ensure you don’t go back to where you started from. I know how hopeless you must be feeling but it is fully possible for us to reverse this. Don’t feel bogged down by your hair loss. It’s only a matter of time before you’re able to grow it back, you just need to make sure you’re doing everything possible to make that happen. And for that, you need to address the root cause. Your sleep, water intake, exercise, diet and stress levels are the biggest influence on your hormones. I’ve been able to manage my condition with special care and I hope to see improvement in my hair too. You got this!
I’m 25 and got a call from my dermatologist like an hour ago telling me my results came back and that I have androgenic alopecia. My hair has been falling out a lot for maybe 2 yrs now. I delayed going to the dermatologist for a few reasons. I thought I was too young for it to be anything serious, I thought my hair was just going through a weird shedding phase, I got off my birth control, I got Covid which causes hair loss in some, there were just so many things going on that… like I knew my hair was falling out more than normal-which is why I went to the dermatologist to get a scalp biopsy as a secondary concern. I went for something else but figured I should talk about my hair loss too since I’d already be up there- I knew my hair was falling out more than usual but I still didn’t expect those kind of results. I thought the dermatologist would tell me that it was stress, or had to do with my diet, or that my hair was just going through a shedding phase. Something simple. She actually advised against the scalp biopsy cause I’m young and cause she didn’t see any signs of hair loss. Which I was so relieved to hear but I told her I wanted to go ahead and do the scalp biopsy for peace of mind. I know my hair looked good to her bc it looks like average hair at the moment. But just a few yrs ago I had 3x the hair I have now. I used to get compliments daily of people telling me my hair was so thick and beautiful and that I should be in hair commercials. I’m fine with what I have on my head right now. I could’ve gone my whole life with what I currently have on my head. But wow. Androgenic Alopecia. I wasn’t expecting this. Especially at 25. For me, it sounds like I’m going to go through this tedious life long battle of fighting hair loss just to end up with 3 hairs on my head anyway. I’m already battling with depression and anxiety, and my confidence is already non existent as it is. I go in on January 12 to my dermatologist to get my stitches removed and now I guess to talk about what to do next. I’m still in shock.
I’m so so sorry you’re going through this. It’s honestly something I wish on no one. It’s a constant battle but I’m with you and if you need anything I’m here. I’m so sorry. I’m sending you so much love. Nothing is the end of the world and thank god there are options ❤️❤️❤️
OK. not make your suffering hard, just curious as I have been following you since almost two years now and dealing with the same. This video has me in tears. I feel you. I was just diagnosed yesterday 😭 my hair has been slowly falling out since my mid-20s. I attributed it to grad school, then the new career change, etc. Over the past 2 years, it has sped up. I finally saw a dermatologist.
Ahhh I’m so sorry. My heart goes out to you. I know exactly how this feels. Proud of you for trying to find ways to help it. Reach out if you need anything. Xx
Hi. I am 27 yrs. I am experiencing the same condition. I don't want to use minoxidil. I have started using rosemary and peppermint essential oil and also garden cress seed. I don't know whether it will help or not...but i am gonna be consistent with it. Right now I am devastated. I love my hair so much... can't focus on work/ studies. It's terrible. I hope everything gets normal with everyone dealing with it.

You should look for another derm cause your story seems like telogen effluvium and not androgenetic alopecia. To find a good derm for hairloss is like searching for Pandora’s Box
@@ayushichaudhary3021 hey how is your hair now? Did you get any treatment? I am really confused, I was shedding a lot of hair during June to September 2019, then diagnosed with telogen effluvium in sept 2019, and my dermatologist gave me some serum kind of to apply on my scalp, keraglo ad shampoo and multivitamin and then I stopped applying after a month bcoz my shedding was not stopping, I was still using the shampoo though and multivitamins, then hairfall decreased very much from around November. And now from Jan 2022 I am noticing again so much shedding, from the top, when I comb there or wash my hair😭 it was really traumatic then and I don't want to go through it again.
I'm going through this while my exams are not over yet. And i cry and cry and breaking down every other hour, can't concentrate on studies because all I'm thinking about is how am i gonna go to college to take the exams when i look like this. I'm scared to shower or brush my hair. I'm thinking about dropping out cause idk how I'm going to attend classes anymore
🤓 Also increasing your POTASSIUM levels Greatly HELPS Hair loss & supports healthy hair growth & adrenal glands. (Adrenal glands deals with your hair too) supplementing with pottasium citrate is good. (It's rough on stomach, so drink something 1st then take) don't take when nice & full with food. I find this cause me stomach irritation, also.

I'm 18 I had too much hair fall in previous 2months ...... I had thick hair.... I could notice my hair was getting thinner and thinner so I consulted a dermatologist .....he said I have diffuse Alopicia... It's been 1 month and I'm having even more hair shedding ..patches are visible...i'm kinda depressed of going blad 🙂
I was told I had andro gentic alopécica but, they gave me sprinrolactone. That’s supposed to grow your hair and not give you facial hair. But, I actually got facial hair! So I was misdiagnosed. Now, it’s about a stressful issues and that’s why I was loosing my hair. My estrogen was soooo high and my doctor said I could get off of it! So be careful!
I have delayed it for too long, it began in 2018. I will be seeing a derma now. Meanwhile I tried some natural remedies that helped, but it comes back to the hair thinning. My scalp is very visible and it depresses me. Everyone points it out for me. I hope the treatment works

I have FPHL since I am 25 (now 47) and with every pregnancy hair became worse and never came back. I tried Minox and Spironolactone but with no results. Always waiting for the miracle to happen, to be among those 2/3 who actually get results. For years I had really bad hair. The best outfit and makeup was draged down because of the hair. Since four years I am wearing wigs and have found my peace. My wigs are costume made (one lasts me about 15 months of daily wear). Naturally I have curly hair with some grey strands and that is exactly how my wigs look, I have them with silk top so it really looks like scalp. and every year my wig maker adds some more grey hair to it ;-) I am very open about it, my kids see me putting the wig on in the morning, all my friends know. I do it for my daughters because, well there is a genetic chance they did inheritate the bad hair genes, and I want to show them, that there are solutions for it. I know it is hard, I understanst you, but it is just hair. and you have a beautiful face with very expressive eyes and a nice head shape, so.... in the worst of cases you could even go bald with a nice makeup on.

All minoxidil does is increase circulation - it used to be a heart medication. 😮 Androgenetic Alopecia is a hormonal imbalance. Diet and high insulin / blood sugar can be factors.

I was diagnosed with aga last week. My mental health declined dramatically since. :( What’s weird though is I’m not shedding a lot of hair. Just brand new hair growth that’s all. (Small new hairs in the sink) I’m really struggling. My hair was SO insanely thick all my life until 3 years ago. But it just got thinner and finer but I’ve never shed a ton of hair. I’ve had two different diagnosis in two weeks by two different dermatologists. This is getting frustrating. And depressing badly.

Sometimes you can take oral minox, but I think only doctor can prescribe it and there’s a bigger risk with side effects (like low blood pressure) - if you’re talking about bad reaction like burning sensation, redness, itchiness etc. If you’re using liquid minox and it dries your scalp, it happens becase liquid version contains a lot of alcohol, so better choice is foam. Also, don’t put too much on your scalp, and apply it only to DRY scalp… and leave it there at least 4 hours (so you can’t even exercise after, because of sweating). Don’t let it run down your face (it can cause a bigger chance of having unwanted hairs).
OK. not make your suffering hard, just curious as I have been following you since almost two years now and dealing with the same. I want to know if u have aga why your middle parting is still as good as every healthy person would have because with aga the only sign is that your middle part widens. and moreover u have never ever even showed your hair or head properly in any video only the hair in your hands and a lot of just words.. if next time u could give us a good look of your head it would help us to relate to you more and learn.. again I am sorry if this is sounding harsh to u.
@Kiranmai B V I’m so sorry 💔 my shedding was from January till end of April. Xx
@Kiranmai B V no I don’t 🙏🏼
I’m so sorry ❤️❤️ sending you so much love
So sorry to hear this is happening to you so young. I'm in my 40s and have this hair loss and it's bad enough now. I can't imagine how difficult this must be to deal with so young. Sending hugs x
@@vickibrown1611 Thank you so much! My friends just can't understand how does this affects me... Sending hugs also
I was diagnosed with it after having my second baby.
What is androgenetic alopecia? Is it reversible? Amd is it a difuse hair loss?? X
I’m so sorry 💔💔sending you so much love.

Im so sorry sister dont you worry I shall pray for u please stay strong and healthy ❤️🫂🫂

Ahhh I’m so sorry. I am sending you so much love ❤️
How are you treating it?
Sending you all of my love. I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this. I know the pain too well 💔❤️
I can totally understand why it feels so terrifying.
I am sending you so much love ❤️ it’s so tough but you will get through it! Finally I am seeing results so just be patient ❤️
@@LisavanWyk_ thank you for letting me know that! ❤
Do you have to be on it forever though? :(
@@siaw6487 for as long as you can, I think.
Thinking of you ❤️
Hi currently in the same boat. Did it get better:)
@@tinalauritsch5844 unfortunately no. I learned only a few months ago that a part of my triggers were hormonal so I’m currently treating that. My shedding has decreased but I haven’t gotten my volume back and I’m still losing hair. I’m so tired. I hope you feel better soon!

I‘m dealing exactly with the same.

I am 27 yrs.
I am experiencing the same condition. I don't want to use minoxidil. I have started using rosemary and peppermint essential oil and also garden cress seed.

Right now I am devastated. I love my hair so much... can't focus on work/ studies.
It's terrible. I hope everything gets normal with everyone dealing with it.

I just to be sure that u r not that person who does this for views by taking of advantage of the most sensitive topic from which we are suffering from ....PS- is it only me or anyone else also noticed?
How are you dealing with it ?
Prescription wise !
What treatment are you taking are you using minoxidil
Yes I was using it. I have a playlist which has a treatment video.
Have you tried Ayurvedic treatments ? I will link you this little TH-cam video. I myself mixed castor oil, neem oil, amla powder, freshly grounded fenugreek, natural henna powder, rosemary oil, peppermint oil. Maybe a good alternative that you can find in most indian stores :) good luck to you all
Thank you so much Mira! I appreciate this advice will look into it all xx

I think the scalp pain is hair regrowth? I get it too. I'm not sure if I'm having lots of hair shedding or if it's hair loss 🤔
@@englishwithkristin8962 you immediately go for charvi hair solution and charvi capsules...

What if you have a bad reaction to topical Minoxidil and can’t take it ? Than what can you take? :(
Sometimes you can take oral minox, but I think only doctor can prescribe it and there’s a bigger risk with side effects (like low blood pressure) - if you’re talking about bad reaction like burning sensation, redness, itchiness etc.
Hey! I've the same condition nd i am only twenty plz suggest me something.😞
So sorry - go see a dermatologist and watch some of my videos xxx
What treatments do you use?
Just posted a new video explaining all of this ❤️

From my experience i think that's telogen effluvium and not androgenetic alopecia!!!
It very well could be!! A few people have said this!
Telogen effluvium is the trigger for androgenic alopecia in a lot of young women
