RIP Your Mom is one that Will love to see you go see it for a Loyalist Superman Fan that is one Loyalist Superman Fan here and let her Soul Find Peace in Heaven and Her Spirits lives on all of us to see this Amazing Superman Movie
I see such optimism and happiness in this comment section, along with so many middle aged or older Superman fans saying they feel like a kid again and wish their parents were here to experience this with them. Truly goes to show you that even with all the negativity and hate you typically see online, Superman continues to be a great influence and source of hope and happiness. I hope this film makes me cry happy tears.
Also, if you take into account that the music in the trailer is the classic Superman theme composed by John Williams, this hits the nail on the head, bringing back nostalgia for all of us who grew up with that movie and giving us the chance to run out and see it. Well done James Gunn.
You know you defined the entire genre of film music when, they're still referencing your score 46 years and God knows how many remakes later. John Williams is the MAN!!
He's the goat. Many years ago one of my ex gf had never heard of him. I made her a CD for her car with maybe 25 of my fav scores. She recognized some, but she liked them all for what they were. Most people can't listen to an hour straight of orchestral music. They need vocals and that familiar verse, chorus, verse structure. We were living in Los Angeles at the time. Coincidentally, later that year, JW was performing at the Hollywood Bowl for a Christmas concert and she bought us two tickets to the show. It was so awesome. Man, I was loving every single note he conducted. 🤘
This version is an incredibly dumbed down, obnoxiously pseudo-epic trivialisation of Williams' rich theme, but that doesn't change the fact that he IS the man!
I was a boy when Christopher Reeve became Superman. I'm 51 now, and this will be out the day before my 52nd birthday. To be a boy again. I'm not crying, you're crying!
Its cool to see the comments of people remembering their loved ones in this. My mom, rest her soul, and I used to watch Smallville together. It's one of my most cherrished childhood memories. Im happy to see that im not the only one that Superman brings these feelings to
As a native Clevelander, my heart is so full watching parts of my city. I worked at a coffee shop while they were filming this, and we had so many crew members and even the director come into our shop regularly. They were such kind individuals, and I'm so excited to support this movie!
I became a huge Superman fan when I was 12…. 56 years ago. I have to admit, it was emotional watching this trailer. Thank you to whomever made this movie, I’ll be watching it next summer.
This movie seems like it is going to be a massive tribute to the original Superman films. James Gunn is gonna make everyone feel the original magic all over again, i can't wait!
I lost my father in 1997, when I was 17 and he was only 45. One of our strongest bonds was Superman and comic books. Before we closed his coffin, I left a Superman gum sticker over his heart (I remembered this while writing this post). Next month, I will be 45 myself, and I was in tears this morning with these memories and feelings surrounding this homecoming. Tears of happiness, tears of coming home.
Respect, man. James Gunn can be wild but this trailer definitely shows the restraint and care for Superman as a character and a human. It's nostalgic for sure.
I brought my little brother to see the first Christopher Reeve Superman. We started out in the middle row of quite a big cinema. He had soon made his way to the front row and watched it all from there. I wish that little brother was still here.
I cannot tell you how much I need Superman. We all do. With his theme. If you don't have it for the movie, just give up. It isn't Superman without this tune.
At first when I save leaked screenshots I was like “this is gonna be a disappointment” then I saw the directors name and then seeing this I’m excited too.
@@IN4INITEICONSwhy does your comment feel like this is a low key shot at marvel ? Sure original comment was a shot at DC but that’s justifiable as DC been basically dead and only producing trash.
Huge respect to Gunn for making Krypto debut in the trailer by coming at Superman in his time of need, instead of having some character make a joke and say something like "wait is that a dog Superman now? how quirky!" This kind of sincerity is appreciated.
@madkabal It's not. It's showing people that Superman isn't as invincible as people think. Oh, and that's not a french poodle. Do your research first before you comment. You want to see a movie that mocks Superman? Watch Batman v Superman.
Good catch, I watched multiple times and didn't notice. I thought maybe it was the stadium scene but the stadium is empty so maybe the whole world will chant "Superman" and return some of the inspiration that he gives to us.
I watched the original Superman movie with my grandfather who passed away a year ago. One of my earliest memories of watching movies is the first scene where Clark Kent becomes Superman and saves Lois lane… and hearing that score for the first time…. It gave me hope, something to aspire towards…. Something the world needs now, a star man. I love you grandad, hope one day we can watch this together again.
I wish my brother were alive to see this. He loved Superman, and especially Christopher Reeve as Superman and collected the comics. He would love this so much. RIP, brother. I'll have you in my heart at the theater and make sure the popcorn is extra buttery.
I love that it doesn't look like some noble or regal breed. That's an adorablel mixed breed, clearly very intelligent but just happy to be able to help Clark. Looks like a dog you'd find on the road one day and adopt on a whim.
@@ApexGalethat's a bad take. Krypto has always been represented as a regal powerful breed not some wimpy shrimp dog. Krypto has gone toe to toe with insanely powerful enemies, this dog doesn't look like he could hurt a fly. James Gunn has lost all my support by pushing his own dog into this role.
@@gurshamnjotsingh7082 A Superman comic quote. He stopped an abusive father from beating his small son. When being congratulated with the "only you could do this, Superman" stuff by the cops he disagreed with them. "All it needed... all it REALLY needed was someone, Anyone, with a pair of eyes, a voice, a phone and ten cents worth of compassion"
I like that quote because it perfectly illustrates the very core message behind the character of Superman. Superman isn't his powers. Superman isn't even a man. He represents an ideal, a hopeful belief that anyone, anywhere, at anytime, has what it takes to step up and do the right thing.
The kid lifting that flag and hoping for Superman is exactly what gave me chills. That's what Superman does. He brings hope and faith in a world that fills void of it. Those are the moments I miss seeing in superhero movies. I want to believe in the characters, I want to see them make the impossible possible because they're super.
"People love that cozy feeling that Supes give them. Some golden c**t to swoop out of the sky and save the day, so you don't got to do it yourself"(С) Billy Butcher
Superman is the GOAT. When I was a kid, I thought Batman was the coolest but as I got older I realized Superman was the best. Batman is defined by his trauma, but Superman has had plenty of trauma too, but he doesn’t let it define him. I’m so tired of all the homelanders and dark/evil Superman portrayals. I am praying that this is a good movie. I want Superman to have an All Might moment where he can proudly announce to the world “to have no fear because I am here.”
As a representative of the Snyder Cut fan base, I'd like to apologize in advance for any haters from my community. I, unlike the rest of these people, enjoy both dark and light hearted DC stories. James Gunn is doing an amazing job.
the shot of someone throwing something at Superman's head and he notices, but chooses to ignore it. THIS is the Superman i wanna see, FINALLY. Superman is one of the most POWERFUL heroes, his best stories are about whether or not hes making the right decision. His struggle to keep doing so makes for the BEST stories, this seems to be off to a GREAT start.
The humility on display with him flinching to the can. Yeah Superman can get hit with high explosives and not flinch but he chooses to, to remain humble and human.
Even in just a teaser, you can feel the legendary vibes returning. But the real question is What new twist can they bring to Superman this time? Who’s hyped to see how they pull this off?
Exactly, we sadly don't need a dark version of the character like Henry's. Don't get me wrong, I liked his superman, it was a new iteration of the character, but this is something we need right now, a true symbol of hope, a character that inspires hope into people
@@berlyyy wait people are waiting around for a fictional comic book character to give them hope? I like comics but only empty people need characters from comic books to give them hope. What they need is JESUS BABY!

I was 65 at the start of the teaser. I am now 7 and my wife is demanding I put on some clothes, take off my pillow case cape and stop jumping on the couch.
1:36 I love the detail after the boy was praying for Superman. You can hear echoes of a mass of people chanting his name. It's like we're in Superman's perspective, through his super hearing. We hear what he hears, people begging for his help
That kid holding a flag of Superman’s Symbol, whispering his name made me tear alone. The faint chanting of “Superman” in the background also adds on. Because *that* is who Superman is, he *is* hope. Hope for a better tomorrow, a safer world, and to inspire kindness and compassion. I say all of this as a huge Batman fan. I have never been more excited for a DC Movie in a long time and I am already sold on the movie!! I can’t wait to see it in theaters
Yes, the chanting "Superman" in the background was subtle and inspirational! I'm glad a couple other people have picked up on that as well. I loved hearing that chanting!
@ It took me a while to notice but I knew I was hearing something from the background and I can only assume we are hearing the chanting because it’s from Superman’s POV.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE How there's no dialogue except for "Krypto, Take me Home" and "Superman." We need more teasers like this! Also the colour grading is beautiful Edit: I fixed my spelling error fake super-man fan here :p
If this is what I think it is, James Gunn's Superman is exactly what we need right now. Not a Superman who is perfect, overpowered, and effortlessly cool. Sure, he has superpowers, but above all, he fights and never gives up. He’s someone each of us can relate to.
I feel sad what they are doing with Superman so I just pray that they don't replace Wonder woman actress girl Gal Gadot and give someone sensible to write the script instead of patty jawnkins
This movie is basically if the Superman we all loved from our childhoods who inspired hope, and friendship, and optimism, was frozen in time and dropped into the world of 'The Boys' and he leads by example to do the right thing, in a time where positivity has become the new "punk." Words cannot express how perfect this idea is.
@i_tame_beasts I hate The Boys so much I don't even like the characters in it... I want Super Heroes! Not watching Super Villians be glorified and lauded as good strong people... I want Heroes! People who are ready too make the ultimate sacrifice in order too save even one person no matter how weak or small people like the Superman in this trailer who literally is going too protect that little girl from harm even at the cost of his own life... powers or not... he's a true Hero... a good person trying too do the right thing... in a world gone mad with evil...

I think this is also what lacks in today's superhero genre.

Re-imagining Johnny's score will not save this movie. I hope it can stand on its own merits.
Only score that mattered for the hero.
"John Williams is the MAN!!"
There's a song about that, oddly enough.
This version is an incredibly dumbed down, obnoxiously pseudo-epic trivialisation of Williams' rich theme, but that doesn't change the fact that he IS the man!
that shot of Superman shielding the girl from the blast is absolutely beautiful gave me chills like something right out of a golden age comic.
