Hey Tom this is the best video on youtube about mavic 2 zoom camera settings and it helped me a lot thank you! I have a question though, if i don't own any ND filters can i increase the shutter speed and not abide by the shutter/frame rate rule? Because if i don't do so my image will be way too overexposed. So if i am filming 25fps on a sunny day i will have to use a shutter speed of 1/50 (with an iso as low as possible), but in that case the image will become way too bright and overexposed. So can i increase the shutter to let's say 1/200? And what are the consequences when not following the shutter speed/fps rule? Thank you!
Moin Tom! Did you ever post the detail's of the computer you are using? If it's an Apple do you have a PC recommendation? I'm allergic to Apples. Tausend Dank!
Hi Tom great video and expalation, thank you. ,I have just purchased a Mavic 2 Pro, my colour menu has D-Log M, HDG and None. looking at the colour menu you showed in this video you have D-Cinelke and Normal. Is this something that changes from the Pro to the Zoom? I was also expecting to see setting like Vivid, Black & White etc, like you would find in the Phantom 4 or Inspire 2. Was I expecting to much? It seems a strange name for a colour setting None. Any thoughts.
Tom you were one of the first channels I came across and subscribed to when I bought my first drone. I learned a lot from you at that time. Since then I have reviewed many drone channels and many are very good, however I always find myself coming back to your channel to see what you have to say about all this wonderful technology. Good Job as usual!
Great video Tom. I have a question about ND filters. When the sun is bright I need either a 16 or 32, however on the histogram it shows that the 16 is too bright and the 32 is too dark, I cant seem to "keep the mountains in the middle". If that is the case do I err towards too dark or too light? Or should I get as close as I can and adjust my shutter speed slightly to balance out the light? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hola Tom, soy principiante ,me compré un mavic 2 zoom y quiero hacer videos para subir a blackbox global. Cuál sería tu suguerencia para la configuración de cámara. Muchas gracias
I’m very pleased to understand more on the precision settings as a beginner. No other tutorials explains it better and I thank you for posting these videos. Hope you can post more guides, product evaluations and functionalities especially. Great video and thumbs up. Will support you! Best wishes from Saipan.
Could you make a tutorial on how to adjust mavic 2 speed sensitivity? I feel that mavic 2 speed is still consider too fast even toggled to tripod mode. Just suggest..
Thank you Tom! I have them both. The Pro 2 and Zoom. I just got the Zoom and was having some issues on the right settings. Your video helped me tremendously and I have a clearer understanding on shooting in 24-25 frames. I thought I understood it before but your explaining made it more clearer! Thank you and happy flying!
Thank for the tips on how to setup the camera on the drone i only got one the other day and when i downloaded the footage it was all like a bit of a hyperlapes so hopefully this'll work for me thanks very much my good friend 😎👍
Hey Tom!
I find using d-cinelike that the video become so noisy. Have you had problems with that? Lowering the sharpness helps it, but at a sharpening of +1, the fottage out of my camera is useless.
Very good tutorial 👍🏼 I’ve subscribed and I’m now looking for more information around the ending to this one where you introduced the ND filters as I don’t have these yet, so I need to understand what I can do without them when it comes to the shutter speed rules.
Tom you are the man, always inspired me to make the right choice. Waw this Mavic zoom looking great. I will definitely upgrade my Mavic Air. Thanks for this incredible and detailed review. Wish you all the best. Cheers
Thanks for the feedback, guys. If you upgrade, then please click at this affiliate link of mine to buy your new drones, that way you can support my work for free and I can add a vegetable to my rice and ketchup dish, haha. Here's the link: goo.gl/UDhcLn. Thanks a lot!
Hi Tom, very informative, I have a Mavic Pro and when I attach my filters an error message tells me gimbal overload, remove filter and ok? Cheers Derek
How did you manage to push in the wire when your iphone got case on? I find it quite difficult. And also somehow the app itself won't automatically launch anymore on iphone :(
Hi Tom, i just wanna hear from you, about i crashed my Mavic 2 Pro a weeks ago(3yrs after the date of purchase)on Bulk Carrier Ship side during my Ship side photo capture as the obstruction sensor did not work and continues drifting of the Mavic 2 Pro until it Crash the ship side and fall into the Sea(probably because i got slow internet connection and error that distructed downloading Firmware update thru laptop Computer). Do you think this is the cause of crashing my Mavic 2 Pro?, is it possible to use my remain Mavic 2 Pro Remote Controller to Bind/Link to Mavic 2 Zoom?. Dji Support advice me to send email to them in order to assess whether the cause of crashed is to be compensate by Dji as per After Sales Policy Rgrds & Thanks in advance to hear from you(Your long time Subscriber here/Licensed Drone Pilot)
Hey Tom. Great informative videos. I noticed a comment in one where you complained about the protective bubble on the mavic pro. You do know that is supposed to be removed. There are also cooling vents behind the gimble.
This was very helpful and informative. There are not nearly as many instructional videos for the M2Zoom as there are for the M2Pro. I will save this video for future reference. There is a M2Zoom in my very near future. Thanks TTT
Hi Tom! I have a problem with my mavic 2 zoom! And I’ve been trying to fix it for nearly a week now with no results! Tried to contact dji tried all the settings available tried everything with no results! My cameras gimbal points to the left as default no too much but enough to complicate my footage and when I try to fly in straight line it loses my subject! Tried everything and still points to the left! I would be happy if you can provide me with any possible solution or advise I can center the camera if I want by holding my finger on the screen and slide carefully but when I reset it with the c1 button it goes back to looking left again! Can you please do any research and help me out?
Hi, Tom! I am a subscriber on your channel, my name is Fabio, i am Brazilian, but i live in the United Arab Emirates. I really like your channel on TH-cam. I learn a lot from you, you're very capable of explaining and do it in a nice way. Well, let's go to what i'd like to ask, i'd like you to compare the camera settings of Mavic 2 zoom and Mavic 2 pro, as you may have already noticed in Mavic 2 pro you have aperture control and Mavic 2 zoom you only control ISO and SHUTTER SPEED, i would like to know why and if it is possible that in future firmware upgrades DJI change this. Thank you! Again, congratulations on your excellent work, keep up the good job.
Hi, ok so i just picked up the 2 Zoom. My first filming was in the evening on a semi cloudy day. The video is horrible! There is noise everywhere! I mean it was not dark just lower light and im really dissappointed. Will changing settings like you mention here improve my video? I cant believe its so bad. My 20 year old camcorder has better video!! Help!
Hi Tom your latest video report on the Settings was very helpful as i follow all you all episodes as you explain things in such a good way as I’ve got the Mavic 2 zoom now i’m very pleased with it as keep up the good work as you do is super footage and episodes Best wishes from Alan Birmingham of the United Kingdom 👍
Well, I don't know. 🤷♂️ My "problem" is that all my old files are 25fps and if I want to show them in one of my videos without stutters, I need to keep on filming with 25fps. 😂
I'm seeing a lot of noise when shooting with D-cinelike, even with the contrast at 0. I keep the sharpness at +1 btw. Does anyone have the same problem or even know a solution? Hope DJI fixes this with a firmware update...
Update: I switched the video codec to H.265 and it seemed to eliminate any noise problems. Also, I did the firmware update, don't know if it has anything to do with it though...
Why does this video lack contrast and saturation? Perhaps it’s personal preference, or the day you filmed it was hazy? I don’t consider a washed-out effect “cinematic”!
Another great video Tom! I just wanted to drop a comment and let you know that over the years you’ve been an inspiration and an an amazing resource. Well, don't take titles of videos too personal. They just are what they are - titles. And in my eyes, the shown are the best settings. Or should I name the video: "The (only in my eyes, it can of course be totally different in yours) best settings for recording video with your DJI Mavic 2 Zoom Drone"? Common. It's not a drama, is it? Tom's Tech Time you’re are not click baiting Tom and I respect that. However there are 3-4 drone channels worth watching overall (you’re one of them obviously) and you guys should be a little more open minded towards the general public. Your videos are absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations. I'm following you. Thanks for the useful information.

Jimmy Kennedy Always better to go a little dark. If you get too bright there’s nothing to work with. When in doubt go darker.
Hi. I’m looking for the section about the storage cards that was mentioned. Is it not there or have I missed it? Thanks
You always do an excellent job... I enjoy watching your videos.
Smooth, informative, clear solid explanations, great energy, and never boring.

Hi Tom. Any advice or link to good info ho how to select nd filters?
Thank you for your video. Everywhere else it tells you not to enable AFC mode because that actually does change the focus during recording.

Tom thanks very good orientation I have my new mavic zoom 🤙🏽😁🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
No ND filters?
Solid video
Fantastic Tom- are you related to Tom from Tom's Hardware??
Great feed 🙌✌🏻👍🏻
h.265 needs only the half of memory. that s the most important thing. especially with 4k material.
Thanks Tom Great tips and advice thank you

I am not sure can you get 10bit with x264 codec , then if you want 10bit Dlog-M you have to use x265 codec
Ich kann D-Log nicht finden als Profil. Was mach ich denn da? Nur Cinelike wird angeboten!
Well explained. Thank you.
Thank You very much! A lot of great information. Appreciated!
6:31 Hallelujah, bro!💪Thanks for your video, God bless you!👉
What are the best camera settings for the Mavic mini?
2 zoom only have D cinelike cp?
same like the air lol
You ....r....awesome.
I have problem with sound and video to sink . my video is going faster than my sound wy is that .?????
Great video! Hopefully you have a similar featuring the pro.
I promise I won’t miss any epizodes, none 😂😂👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
How on earth do u say..... “TTT Toms Tech time” so quick? Impressive!

Great information! Thanks so much!!
Why do you use 25fps at 4k and not 24 fps?
Well, I don't know. 🤷♂️
My "problem" is that all my old files are 25fps and if I want to show them in one of my videos without stutters, I need to keep on filming with 25fps. 😂
Oh okay ! I thought it has a deeper technical reason 😂 Is there anything that speaks against 30fps? 😊
The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom is possibly the best overall consumer drone to be released to date.
I'm seeing a lot of noise when shooting with D-cinelike, even with the contrast at 0. I keep the sharpness at +1 btw. Does anyone have the same problem or even know a solution? Hope DJI fixes this with a firmware update...

No 4k? only dcinelike?
I have the Mavic 2 Pro, I checked and nowhere could I find where to put my 35mm film. We shoot video guys...lol.
Why does this video lack contrast and saturation? Perhaps it’s personal preference, or the day you filmed it was hazy? I don’t consider a washed-out effect “cinematic”!
What? No 60fps at 4K?
Nope, that's probably gonna be a feature on the future Mavic Pro 3 😂
Super erklärt, you german Klugscheisser 👍😀
